Ok ladies, please vote on your favorite. Not #1 the original! They didn’t have my original hair color. But picture in white.

Worked today and work tomorrow. Remember how I told you that at work I was told in no uncertain terms how very important it is for the customer to see me cleaning the carts? Well, I went on break. No one took over. So this *important* job doesn’t require someone to cover for me. Ah well….I get my steps in, no one bothers me. So there are some bright spots

M – I read somewhere (and I even forget where) that your entire home shouldn’t be in the same theme. My feeling? Do what makes you happiest

Barbara – I *wish* I could somehow be inside to clean the carts. But the only area near the door is pretty small. They have a “hostess” who offers a mask (why the person cleaning the carts couldn’t do that as well is beyond me), now they want to have 3 small carts and 3 large carts inside the store (not sure why). To have me there would just create the bottleneck and the customer couldn’t get into the store. Oh well….on the bright side, at least I don’t have to listen to Christmas music all the time! I’ve started asking people if they would like a cart and then telling them that they’re already cleaned but I’ll clean it again “just for you”. Hey, gotta do something to fill the time…lol

Ann in FL – do you know that I never had someone teach me mahjongg? I just went to the mahjongg games at newcomer and learned by making mistakes. We play American Mahjongg.

Anne DE – when I first read that you’d take us to Winterthur, it took me a little bit to remember that Winterthur is in DE. We moved to NC from Kennett Square, PA.

Katla – I just find that my hands get cold. I can dress in layers but don’t know what to do about my hands. I tried wearing gloves but they get wet from the sanitizer so I wear the vinyl gloves the store provides.

Oh…I have to tell you about a small victory for me. I love those Lofthouse iced sugar cookies. I can eat a whole box of them. Well, they had some in the break room. I actually didn’t have any!!! Score for me!!! Not to say that I wasn’t tempted, that’s for sure

RV Rita – you sound so very proud of your son, and you should be. I like picture #2 (the one right after the pic of you right now), #7, 8, and 6, with #7 being my least favorite, #2 the most favorite

I like the first picture top row next to your original one. If you put a little mousse in your hair and use a round brush with a blow dryer it will have some fluff.

Internet went out for almost 2 hrs! :(

Thank you! I liked the last one too. The app is called HairstyleLite. The samples were not enough so I paid .99 to get the ladies add ons.

Lanette hear you about the dogs.

DrewB would agree with about the layers. Unfortunately at 16 degrees today she would not last two minutes outside. I have a wool sweater and then a harness coat over. We have walked about two miles so far today. Without coat it is two blocks if I am lucky.

Rita I like #5 and the last one which looks alot like#2.

After years and years of not even owning a coat in California, its hard to get used to the layering but I am trying! I get kind of claustrophobic with more than one layer on, its definitely something I need to acclimate to. <3

:) I imagine that it would be hard for someone with a history of nudism to be comfortable in a lot of clothing. I have always worn a lot of clothing and find my aversion to nudism has more to do with being cold while undressed than anything else.

Meanwhile I am so rarely cold now that I prefer wearing as little as decently possible.

On my list of things to do in the new year is to pack away or give away a lot of my heavier sweaters (pullovers).

I do love the beachy looks you posted.

If you walked through my house you might be appalled! Lots and lots of antique/vintage Asian like lamps and hangings.

I'm not keen on the trends for 2021 either. I much prefer the beachy look.

    Rita, last one looks great!

Barbie, Yes that is possibly the reason why I don't like layers, but its still just an excuse.

Treadmills ARE expensive, and no places on the island, all down toward Seattle, to buy one. I don't think husband is into the idea of one in the house anyways. He's always saying just go outside and walk. (But he's never inclined to do it). I shall concentrate on my fasting, and when the weather gets a bit, less windy, and cold, I will be out. I am thinking of it as a gift to myself.

I like all kinds of trends in home decor. I find it really hard to settle on one. A lot depends on context - light, surroundings, shape of rooms, age of house etc. I have a rich fantasy life and read a lot of decor magazines.
DH and I watch TV programmes about buying antiques and collectibles. As we watch them I comment about which of my fantasy properties the object would look good in. :D
I have an urban loft, a Paris apartment, a barn conversion, a modernist 60s house by the sea with pool, and, of course, our own 1920s house with its touch of Deco/Arts and Crafts.
I love to fill these spaces with beautiful objects and imagine their decor. At the moment for our own house I am favouring the opulent look for the main house, with a lighter theme in the newer, dining extension. I have always favoured blue.
We lived in a white boarded house by the sea for a while. :D
When I see something I like on the programme I say, "That would look lovely in my Paris apartment." DH says, "There isn't any room left!" My urban loft (Manchester? NY?) is full to bursting!

Oh well, it keeps me entertained!

I think that having each room different was popular in the 1990s ... pink bedrooms, dark green kitchens, etc. Then come the 2000s the look became more neutral.

However, you're right ... do what makes you happy! I like the styles in the photos I posted throughout my house. My mother wouldn't like that at all. Her style is quite different.

When I started decorating my apartment after my first husband moved out, I went with mission-style decor which had some popularity in the late 1990s. It is, however, fairly dark. I still have some of that look in my place but I think I like the beachy look because it is lighter, it introduces blue into the mix, and I like the idea of my home looking like a holiday home year round. :)

Dr. Katie-sorry to hear about your mom’s balance issues. Glad injuries were not worse.

Allie-post surgery fatigue is real-it can last for a bit. Glad you were able to do a couple of small, useful tasks. Does the pacemaker device have a backup/spare battery?

Julie-Love the Mamas and Papas “Monday Monday”. Glad you are adding to student’s education! In terms of Ikea (and any other) furniture I always take it slow, make sure I understand the instructions. Is it the chair that is not even or is there perhaps a low spot in the floor?

RV Rita-you should be proud of your son. Nice presents he sent. I like picture #2 best (next to original)

I don’t pay a lot of attention to home décor-put the stuff out that I like and don’t worry about themes. I find a lot of the “theme” stuff to be like living in a magazine and I live in a home. I do try to coordinate colors.

We are supposed to get some of the snow that will be moving to the east tomorrow. Supposed to be only an inch or so. Went for walk late afternoon after work and the air does have that snow feel to it (if anyone knows what I mean!).

Glad vaccines are starting. Even if we have to continue to wear masks after vaccinated until later next year, it will be nice not to have the same level of concern.

Winding down early tonight. Didn’t sleep well last night (kept waking up for some reason). Think I will go into bed and watch some of “The Curse of Oak Island.” I like some of the strangest shows!

    Take care all,

Allie – I do hope Jean has the flu and not something else. You certainly don’t need that!

Work tomorrow and it’s supposed to be cold with freezing rain starting around 8. Oh joy! I got my longjohns out and these heavy pants that I have.

Jess wanted to go to Hibachi Grill so we went there. I had the hibachi with shrimp, crab, mushrooms, peppers, onion, broccoli, and sprouts. Made using no butter and no sauce. I did splurge some and have a piece of cheesecake for dessert because I don't get that at home, and one of those bananas in strawberry sauce. Otherwise, it was pineapple and mandarin oranges. Only water to drink. I think I did pretty well, except for that banana (which really wasn't all that good anyway) and cheesecake. The cheesecake was ehhhh but I don't get it at home which is why I had it there.

Wear those fuzzy wrist bands that tennis players wear.

Long ago, I worked for Canada Post in Winnipeg. Because Winnipeg gets really, really cold in winter and because I needed hand dexterity for the mail I needed to keep my hands warm but I couldn't wear thick gloves.

I also cycled through the winter and wanted to keep warm doing that too.

So I did some research on keeping hands warm in winter and found that if a person covers their pulse points going into their hands and feet, their hands and feet will be warm ... or at least warmer.

Those fuzzy wrist bands are great! Wearing them, I could get by with light little "mini gloves" for the most part.

As for Mahjong ... I just started playing the free version that used to be included in the game pack with Windows. It's a very easy game to play which is probably why I like playing a couple games at the end of the day. It's just matching tiles, with a little bit of strategy in the decisions of which tiles to match. And it's solitary so I don't have to worry about the availability of other people. :)
