Flea: We also have a double sink in the kitchen. The right side is smaller and includes a food disposal. The left side is larger and usually used for rinsing. It can also be of help washing some of the bigger pots & pans. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I’m sorry about the Haggis for Burns Night. I hope you’ll have an enjoyable meal and won’t be disappointed next year.
(((Allie))): Sending hugs and good wishes.
I’m working my way toward healing from the fall I took after Christmas. I still don’t have my glasses back after taking them to the sight shop after the fall, and that is disappointing. The Sight Shop claims they will be sending them to us in the near future. I am getting angry at the Sight Shop. I will call my doctor for support next Monday. This is ridiculous. We paid $400 the day of my eye doctor’s appointment. It is over a month ago, and I still don’t have glasses. I have many empty excuses. :grumble:
I had a phone call last night from a dear friend who I haven’t seen in a couple of years. We have stayed in touch via phone calls. We have known one another for many years. We met at the Eugene OR Yacht Club in about 1996. We have both moved away from the Yacht Club but have stayed friends with one another. Our friends have lived on Orcas Island, WA for many years and we talked about making an RV trip together later this year. At this point, it is a fantasy. Sometimes fantasies become realities. It is a lovely thought and I hope it can happen.

Bananas – I would go with dentist 2 also. #1 sounds like he’s all into the newest and greatest. And guess who will be paying for this new equipment? And what if in the future we find that it isn’t so great?
I would go with the one you feel more comfortable with. However, I like dentists that have the new bells and whistles for tools. They are better, usually not as hard on the patient (x-rays without those horrid cardboard things and no wires), and more quiet and since I despise the dental work, I want whatever makes me feel as comfortable as possible.

Sinks I’ve had double bathroom sinks in the past and lived them. You could always tell which was mine vs DH! Lol
Vaccines I’ve had all the vaccines except tetanus. I need my second pneumonia shot after March because I turn 65 then. I signed up for the CoVid but not in the group for that yet.
Been “down on the dumps” since thanksgiving. Mostly because of colitis/ pain and drowsiness still going on. Having a had time pulling out of this.
Barbara (auntiekb) and I had a really nice FaceTime visit yesterday. We talked for almost an hour!!! We’ve planned a virtual walk for a future call. Fun!!

Thanks for weighing in Tina. Destist 1 costs double and he didn't look at my mouth and then sent me an estimate for something different than what he had said he would, and only for one tooth, not for the whole shabang! Not wanting to look at my mouth at all is a red flag for me. Dentist 2 was more soft spoken, seemed much more polite, and was more precise in giving me a written estimate all at once.
BONUS dentist 2 is of Irish origin which is NOT a deciding factor, nor the least bit necessary, but it is nice to speak English.

The mister got his first jab of the covid vaccine on Thursday. My advice, if they ask you what arm you want it in, choose your non-dominant arm. He didn't and could not lift his dominant arm for 24 hours. He also got "flu-ish" for a day.
It's a great day to sit inside and read. Rain all day!

Don't get me wrong...my top priority is how I feel about the dentist. I would not put the tools as the highest factor. I had a dentist I liked for about 10 years. He retired and sold his practice to an dentist I did not get a good vibe from. I found another dentist that I really like. It just so happens that she has all the newest tools and devices.

Heather - I think sometimes as a special treat cost and calories are worth it. I’m so happy you enjoyed it.
Lisa - insomnia is terrible. I hope it leaves you soon.
Barbara - the first apartment we had when we were married had the old sink with the drain board attached and cupboards underneath. It was a unit all together. That was a convenience for cleaning, it was an ugly kitchen though. It had carpet samples for flooring. It went with the miserable little bathroom I spoke of earlier this week.
How awesome that Barbara and Rita had a “visit”. I love technology for keeping in touch.
I’m off to help my friend clear more things out of her Mother’s. My son in law is meeting us to pick up a new to me couch. Then I have my physio appointment.

We all like pretty photos, don't we.
This was sent to me on WhatsApp this morning from our friends in Cornwall. She went for a walk first thing down to Chapel Porth. One of my favourite places in all the world. The tall building is a pump engine house for the old tin mine. Love it. I have walked along there in spring, summer and autumn many times. Never in winter.

Greetings all! I got some food logged yesterday then I couldn't get in for the rest of the day. Grrrr. I'm hanging in there, nothing really new. We are supposed to get snow all week starting sometime today. It started out sunny and has turned very overcast. Lots of birds out and about. We have been on the hunting grounds of a Cooper's hawk for nearly a year now. Yesterday he was soaring about, today he's gone so all the little birds are out and dining away at the feeders (we have 18).
We have been deep cleaning starting with the mud room and main floor powder room. We used to do each room once over a 2-year period, but I think we are going to streamline that because several rooms have very minimal usage. We'll probably get the whole place done this year then scale back. It hasn't been done since DH went to prison.
Your travel pictures are all lovely. We have had to curtail many of our future travel plans; many countries won't allow felons in as tourists at all. Mostly, it's the English-speaking countries. I found out through a lot of research on justice reform, the US requires this in many trade agreements. WT.....
Allie: I am sending you prayers!
Take care, Meg from Omaha where nothing is going on right now!4 -
I've been thinking about my dream house and had a few additional thoughts. The first place I lived after college was a quonset hut in Okinawa with two roommates. After that I lived in the BOQ (Bachelor Officers' Quarters in a one room place with a stove and refrigerator. For a long time, I dreamed of having the money to buy a Victorian house in Northern California and remodeling it to original beauty. Now that I think about it, there would be narrow stairs and high ceilings making the rooms hard to heat. I think I'm better off just being grateful for the home I own and live in now.
Bananas, there's a lot to be said for trusting your instincts about choosing the dentist. I chose a dentist once because his ad in the yellow pages seemed warm and comforting.
My walking friend had a dizzy spell this morning while we were walking in the giant field behind the house with both dogs in the dark. I told her to sit by the tree and I'd take the dogs home and come back for her. She was fine when I got back but wanted me to walk her home. Fortunately, she has an appointment scheduled with her doctor on Monday and she'll be able to ask about the dizziness. This isn't the first time this has happened and the doctor said it could be low blood pressure or her needing to eat breakfast and drink water before going out in the morning. Of course, Jake volunteered to take her to the doctor or do anything she needed. She reported later that's she's feeling better but will consider Jake's offer to drive her to the doctor.
I started working on the income tax this morning. If I work on it a little at a time, I'll get it done with little pain.
My plan for this afternoon is to watch figure skating on TV while riding my exercise bike and knitting a baby hat.

Wow! Heather that is a gorgeous photo! I could walk there quite happily.
It is just beautiful here in Ohio this afternoon. But it is COLD. I managed to get in a walk yesterday, but I have to say I am not excited to go outside today. Supposed to be way worse tomorrow though, so I probably should.1 -
Barbara, my son is studying Business administration at University of WA. I am not sure what he's going to do with that. That's for a face to face discussion.💖

Dee- You are right. The sunshine is beautiful yet deceiving! Baby it is COLD outside!
I love all the pictures of different places. I get to travel without leaving home.
So...I made a comment the other day that a lot of the Echo equipment inventory wasn't in the system. (my sister in law's job). Her comment was well, I tried-RRRRR! So today I got all the Echo equipment put in the system with pricing. Figured out a couple of pieces that were "missing" and fixed those. My husband says that it is a hassle trying to keep up with everything. My comment to him was once it is all in there it really shouldn't be that hard to keep up. The problem is that it didn't all get put in at the start. If I tell him that his sister only does things half a$$ed, he gets pissy. He knows this is a fact, but God forbid that I should comment on it. Kind of like her taking every Saturday off until Spring and leaving early. He replies, well she does come in early. Well, what would happen if I decided that I wanted to work nights? Does that mean I don't have to work the hours we are open? I truly believe the only two people who know what is going on around there are me and my son in law. And only one of us really cares! I do see the system as an advantage once I get everything in the system the way I want it. I have 6-8 weeks to get that done before Spring hits. Gotta love working with/for Family!
Does anyone remember going to friends houses for dinner? When I was married before, we did it often. I would just stop in at my friends to say hi. Now,(and I mean in the last 15 years) it is like nobody wants to impose if you invite them over for dinner. I do like to cook, just nice to cook for other people sometimes. Maybe it is because I am in a higher earning level now. Maybe it is just my husband's friends. It just seems odd to me. The couple we spend the most time with eat out 6 nights a week. They have specific things they order off the different menus. They wanted to know if we wanted to go to dinner. I said how about coming to our house for chicken and dumplings. Well, they had chicken two nights ago-smh. They are coming to pick us up to head to dinner. I reckon I will make the chicken and dumplings tomorrow for husband and I.
I wish I could share this sunshine with those struggling...oh wait....
The view from my desk at home. It definitely helps the blahs. {{HUGS}}
Healing thoughts!
High fives!
Lots of love!

We are expecting very cold temperatures tonight and maybe snow tomorrow, or rain if the snow doesn't make it this far south. Sometimes the South Downs catch the weather and we are OK. Many places further north have had severe flooding and now it will be snow. I'm going to leave the heat on.
I'm indulging my travel lust tonight. Watched a programme on river cruises through France, and Portugal (which we were meant to go on last October). Then played my recording of a detective series set in Copenhagen in Danish, now we're going to watch a police series set in the seedy backstreets of Paris. Travelling from my sofa.

Afternoon ladies
Well im still home ,no call from hospital yet.. my brother is busy,so now have to depend on my kids to get me down there.
Here is hoping they get me in at least by tomorrow as the surgery is Monday..6 -
Allie ... you are constantly in my prayers!
It is cold here in Buffalo but the sun is shining! The little pup isn't too thrilled with it and we can only exercise him outside for very, very short periods of time. He's got the hang of "outside," "sit" and "come here." Not bad for just 6 days. While he is younger son's dog (son is 23 btw), I have been helping out quite a bit as younger son is going through a bad bout of migraine this week. He is keeping us busy!
Silly little guy likes this spot the best ...

Did Essentrics Classical Stretch DVD. I do like the Essentrics workouts. The plan for tomorrow is to do Self’s Bikini Body DVD (another new one)
Kylia – congrats on getting that printer working. Sometimes you just have to try things. I don’t like anything fried, too. If you take the breading off, are the calories the same as just a piece of meat/fish or does the oil go into the food. Does anyone know? We have a deaf person who comes into the store all the time. There is an app (free) called “hand talk” where you type in what you want to say and the “person” signs it. Maybe this will help you until you learn ASL completely. I didn’t realize that the position of the hands makes it mean different things.
Traacey – good news about Dillon! I’m so sorry about your cousin. Why wouldn’t she want her husband to know anything? Is this just her way or is it something different? What a generous thing for your boss and coworker to do for you!
Bananas – do you REALLY need 2 assistants??? You’re making the right decision
We can’t (really shouldn’t) have a disposal since we are on septic. We do have a double sink in the kitchen (and two sinks in the master bath). One is smaller than the other. I like to use the smaller one as a draining sink. We do have a hand soap dispenser. If I ever changed the granite, I would get rid of that since we’ve never used it in the 13 years we’ve been here. Vince doesn’t like that I use the smaller sink for drainage of clean dishes since you sort-of have to lean over that sink in order to turn off the water.
Lisa – our cats ALWAYS lay in front of the monitor but only for Vince. They really don’t do that for me. They also walk all over the keyboard. Believe me, we’re totally used to gibberish. We try to keep all the keyboards rolled in under the desk while we’re not using them. You are so lucky to be getting free plants/trees
Barbara – have you ever used an old toothbrush to clean the area between the sink and counter that gets gummed up?
katla – when they send you your glasses, will they give you a tracking number? If so, then you will be able to track where the package is. We’ve done that lots of times
kylia – happy birthday to your husband!
After the soup kitchen yesterday went to WalMart since I needed to pick up a prescription. I used a gift card that the soup kitchen had given me for Christmas. Honestly, I was expecting that they only put $5 on it, Vince thought they probably put $10 on it. Turns out they put $15 on it. Maybe it’s because they have fewer volunteers. I don’t remember that much was on the card last year
Have a container of sour cream that Colby bought that I can’t return (the store won’t take a return except for the same type of item, like if you get Pepper Jack cheese, it has to be for another pepper jack. If the one you are returning is slices and the one you want is a block, then they will exchange that. Please don’t ask me to explain that). Anyway, I want to use up the sour cream so I think I’ll make Vince a sour cream banana bread today.
Allie – I worry about you doing so much and then being in pain. Your body is still healing, let it.
Tina – whenever I get a shot of any kind or they take blood or whatever, I always have them do it in the nondominant hand. Also, you should wear short sleeves when you get it
Hey, if Barbara and Rita could have a “visit”, what do you think of an MFP “visit”?

You have been blessed to see so many beautiful places. Thanks for sharing.
I have done If (18/6) for 3 days now. It was hard today but hope I will get used to it. I am limiting myself to a lunch and dinner and not eating between. Will just have to see.

Barbie - I hope your walking friend gets the dizziness sorted before she gets injured.
Kylia - I don’t think I could work with my husband and Sister in Law. Not that they would ever attempt to work together anyway.
We haven’t had dinner at a friends house in probably close to 10 years unless it was a holiday thing. Ever since social media became the norm it seems people choose not to be social in the real world. I’m saying that but as I’m typing I started thinking about my girls, they were teens when Facebook came out Lauryn grade 12 and Kaitlyn grade 10, in normal times they actually do have dinners with their friends in homes quite regularly. Maybe because of younger children, less money or maybe they miss physical socializing more than we do. I haven’t even had a friend for a coffee for probably 3 years.
Beth - What a sweet pup.
I am envious as my husband got to see our daughters sweet pup today and I missed her.
Allie - I would hope that one of your children can get you to the hospital especially since Dan using your car isn’t he? Im sorry you shouldn’t need to worry about how to get to the hospital you should be resting and getting as much peace and calm as you can.
You’re in my prayers.
Michele - I don’t know if i would use a soap dispenser either. I find sometimes the more “gadgets” the more chance of breakdown.
I have heard from my cousin today, my fears were confirmed. I think she is sorry she survived and upset that her husband got to her in time. She is still in hospital and I hope he stays there until she gets the help she needs. I don’t think it had anything to do with her marriage, it seems it’s all her health issues that are not easing off.
Rodger installed the new dishwasher today and I’ve ran the first load through. When it is done I will check the dishes. It was much quieter.
I had my first physio appointment today. I have to return on Tuesday and Saturday next week as well. I was correct in my diagnosis and my right hip is frozen and that is causing all of my issues. She gave me one exercise to do once every 3 hours while I’m icing it. The rest of the time she told me to continue what I was doing, that we need to take it slowly. We are starting with 6 weeks of treatment twice a week, thankfully my benefits cover some of it.
I am off for a bath. I found some wonderful bath salts that have CBD and THC in them and they relieve me of pain for about two hours after I’ve gotten out of the tub.
