When I dropped Alfie off today Tom asked if I had heard from disability ,i said no it could be many more months,he is itching at the bit to lower the alimony.. well what he thinks is going to happen and what really will happen are 2 different things.. when i hear from disability ,im sure i will get denied first time and will need to hire an attorney, plus will need an attorney if i have to fight Tom for the money..ugh.. not going to worry about something i cant control right now..

Rori-prayers as you walk through this. All we can do is love them until the end. Glad you are taking care of yourself.

Beth-sorry you learned more details. That sort of thing keeps reopening the wound.

Pip-I hope there aren't any rules about daily posting of exercise! Seeing your stats makes me feel like a slug at times-but it is cool to follow.

Had lovely visit with niece and her daughter who is 16 and a very mature, polite young lady (she was always a cute kid!). Ended up going through some old photos of my mom and my side of family. Niece took pictures with phone of some of them and I gave her a couple most meaningful to her. After I get back, etc. straightened out I want to make a trip to Maryland to see them.

Went for walk this morning while it was cooler and then after niece left did another. All told a bit over an hour for the day. Has warmed up nicely today-in the 60's. Warmer temperatures coming.

Going to give oldest brother a call to see what is new with them. Niece told me he had an eye surgery recently and isn't doing well with it (not sure of the type of surgery-something with tear ducts possibly).

    Take care all,

    Voted.
    Attended most of the conference
Attended several pilates sessions but missed a few because of husband's heart attack
Yes, we completed a 50 km bicycle ride ... on which my husband had a heart attack
Yes, I completed the 5 km run on May 23
I started a 9 day fortnight and love it!
I have designed another 50 km route

And the rest ... still working on them.

Oh, also, I joined a Mt Wellington stair climb challenge at work and I've got 14 flights to finish today to make it!

June looks all booked up but I'll talk more about that in the June thread which will be starting soon. :)

Pip you are an inspiration both with your workouts and your decorating.
Tracey con VERY gratulations on the pounds taken off and the first walk since 2019. Well done with your DD and DGD on that family heirloom. Was surprised to see it expands and has leaves. Your great great grandfather was quite a craftsman.

Evening all, new here, just wanting to introduce myself. I'm 54 and living near Devonport, Tasmania, Australia. I do Pilates, Ballet, Tap dancing and heaps of hiking but my main passion is telemark skiing.

Menopause and some nasty medication have seen me stack the weight on so I am on a journey to try and curb the gain and look after myself into my later years. (Gawd that makes me sound ancient lol). I have two feline fur babies who I love to bits despite them driving me nuts.

Cheers and Hi, Al from Tas.

Did Yoga for Weight Loss DVD then went for a walk. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise

Ginny OH – have fun with your niece

Barbie – I don’t like to work for more than an hour or so. I remember a few years ago when I cut down all these weeds. It was during the middle of the summer. I’d work for only 2 hours at a time and then go in the pool. Vince thought I should do it all at one time, but by doing it my way, it got done.

Started to get packed to go to Denise’s Wednesday.

Barbara – “restroom”...lol How true, tho. Oh, true me, it WAS hard to throw those crusts away. What I probably should do is freeze those crusts and have a little at a time instead of a brownie.

Rori – (((REAL REAL BIG HUG))) I was very surprised to read that your husband was combative with Parkinson dementia. I was on a bowling league with a man who had Parkinson dementia and he was the sweetest person you’d ever want to know. I thought all people with Parkinson dementia were that way. Just a GLASS of red wine??? If I was going thru all you’re going thru, I’d probably wind up with the entire bottle or at least half of it. My heartfelt love is going out to you right now. Know that I’m in your pocket every day.

Heather – THAT’S a pool???? Looks more like a factory to me. If there was barbed wire on top of the fence, I’d swear it was a prison

Christine – welcome! Oh, the weight goes on so very fast at our age and comes off so very, very slowly. Frustrating...but at least it DOES come off…..in time

When I went for my walk this morning, it was pretty cool out. Usually I can do the loop around my neighborhood and our cul-de-sac and the entrance to the development in 35 minutes. I thought I’d get that time down since it was cooler, but I didn’t. That’s about 1-1/2 mile (a tiny bit less)

Allie – have fun at the shower

Barbara - Thank you! I have made a hard right and removed myself from my pity party. Apparently, I need to wallow on occasion, but it's time I stopped. You remind me why - self-pity just isn't where I live. At least in the mornings, anyway. I've got to find something better to do with my evenings, obviously, and quit concentrating on my woes. My giant game of whack-a-mole with these symptoms will eventually be won, I just need patience.

Al from Tas - Welcome! Love it when our Aussies join - you are always a breath of fresh air.

Tracey - I second the designation of your grandfather as a true craftsman. That was not an easy task, making that table. It was crafted with style. Just the thought of placing the original cuts to make it drop from an oval to a circle and then expand once more make my head spin. Glad you're back to walking, just give yourself time, take it slowly.

As soon as Corey's up and around, I'll get some bread dough going. I hate having the mixer thumping while he's asleep. Want to make some for us for the week and some to freeze and bake Friday for the Saturday market. How many will just have to depend on how long I want to be covered with flour!

My May goals were to be lighter, be healthier and stick to a budget. I'm three and a half pounds lighter, no healthier and budgeting was thrown to the winds this month, so one of three. The goals will be the same for June, and hopefully, I'll get higher than 33 percent!

For those who are new, Barbie will post a link to a June thread at some time late in the day Pacific Time. Please look for that link, follow us to the new thread and be sure to bookmark it!

    Regards,

ETA: For my U.S. brethren and sistren, please have a safe and happy Memorial Day. While I am a veteran, this day isn't to celebrate me or my living compatriots who served (that's Veterans' Day, in November). It is to remember and memorialize those who didn't return. However, you are more than allowed to be happy and to wish others a happy Memorial Day! After all, they served for you and yours. Enjoy your day.

Hi ... from the southern end of the State. :) I'm also 54 with one feline fur baby. :)

Pictures of the table. Michaela worked right along side of her Mother and I for about 3 of our 6 hours. We had talked about the history and how old the table was. We found that it was built July 15 1850 by, I think, my Great Great Grandfather. We were all done and Lauryn says, “That’s how I remember it”. Michaela puts her hands in the air and says “you can’t, it’s new”.

I then told her a story of how when her Mommy was a tiny baby about a week or two old I was changing her diaper on the table and she pooped on me all the way up my arm. She thought that was hilarious.

    Anyway here are the pics:

Hi there, getting a wee bit chilly here in the deep south of Aus isn't it? I spent Sunday sliding around on snow and ice up on Cradle Mountain, stunning day but driving up was treacherous with ice all over the road. First official day of winter tomorrow, bring it on, I want to skiiiiiiii.

Happy Monday! Day off work for Memorial Day. I should say, shop is closed. I have work to do. Apparently I need to sleep more. I took a 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon and still slept 8 1/2 hours last night. Me....I need to be selfish for taking care of me I think. I think it was Barbara who said it gets done, just slower. That statement is so true!

Rori, Beth, and Lisa I am adding my hugs, prayers, and warm thoughts. Rori- I am glad that you are getting to spend time with DH. That will mean lots to you down the road and I am sure it brings him peace too. I wish we had had that option when Steve's Mom passed. She would have been 77 today.

Welcome to the new ladies! You won't find a more supportive group of ladies, so check in often.

I should get started on something today. Have a great one!

Do you downhill or cross-country ski?

I started out Cross country many years ago then got into ski patrol and started to telemark. I now do about 90% resort telemark so downhill but with free heels, 5% cross country on the skinny skis and 5% Alpine just because I have the gear and should use it. I rarely ski in Tas these days as the snow is so unreliable. I have three weeks booked at Falls Creek in Vic from the last week of July, I have fingers and toes crossed that I can actually go.

    Do you ski?
