Barbara ... my 5 minutes on a stationary bike was a lot like watching someone in slow-motion ... ...but that knee made the revolutions!
I really didn't want to replace our last dog ... but Cecil does make me smile. He's 6-1/2 months now.

Hi everyone!
Just found this thread. I started back at MFP in late September 2020 (after losing a lot of weight in 2013 and letting it all come back and then some). Stepped on the scale today and have hit the 40 pounds gone mark.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Did my walking. I am trying to learn to keep my head up and my toes pointed forwards.

Got the chair, it was a bi455&#$&*h trying to connect with her, but finally found her. My trainer was not working right so we couldn’t ride together for the last two days… Kirby found a spin bike just like his selling for$600 (ours cost 1k or more). Kirby didn’t want to deal with the bike trainer not working for me. I offered $500, we got it. He couldn’t find the plug for it, he was remodeling so he will find it or order a new one and send it to me. The chair is more dirty that the couch was so I will work on that. Found the trainer worked after all, the break assembly was loose. I tested and recalibrated it and it worked fine. Soooo, I listed the trainer on OfferUp for $260 (cost retail $500). Also listed the loveseat, chair and pillows.3

Welcome to all those who are new. Keep coming back.
Carol - I saw my ophthalmologist yesterday. I am scheduled for cataract pre-op on July 6 and surgery on July 19. Have you been able to get scheduled yet?
Kim - congrats on the bathroom remodel. Hope you enjoy it.

Oops. I ate some cookies, and went over calories. So I walked some extra. My legs feel a tad sore but not bad. I learned I can walk twice in one day! But I will still take off on my dumbbell workout days.

Well done on the second walk. As you build up, you'll find you can walk just about every day even on dumbbell workout days.
I'm sore today from planting the almost 200 bulbs. I knelt the whole time and there was a lot of leaning forward.
My glutes (butt) and upper hamstrings are really feeling it today! And my abs a little bit.

I was able to go to yoga today. Many of my fellow students are back. I learned about one longtime yoga friend who has been put in a nursing home in another state because of alzheimers. He will be missed.2

I'll be 52 in July so happy to find this group! I am 5'4 and 151 lbs right now. Before the shut down I was at 143 and had always struggled with trying to hit my goal of 120. We got to work from home for the 1st few months of the shut down and I was able to change my life for the better - without the commute and getting ready time wasted of 4 hours a day, I was able to get down to 130, spending that extra time I'd gained on getting enough sleep, walking an hour a day plus doing weight videos for another 30 min to an hour and meal prepping healthy food. After I was forced to start coming back to the office though, all that went to heck - all that work for nothing was gone within months and I gained 20 lbs in only 15 months! It was because since there were so few of us in the office, our lunches were paid for by the company 4-5 days a week and I'd eat pizza, desserts, mac and cheese, bbq ribs - anything I wanted. After I noticed how much I was gaining, I tried intermittent fasting without success. I then tried just fasting period for 48 hours at a time - without success (meaning my weight wasn't coming off), I tried meal prepping healthy food to bring but truly I have zero will power to eat like that when this other free and much better tasting food was up for grabs. I tried walking at lunch and after work as well as another 2 hours on Sat and 2 hours on Sunday. Still - no success and I just kept gaining. I've now reached my highest weight ever and can only fit into 4 items of clothing that I have to cover with pregnancy looking tops - I rotate 2 long skirts with elastic waistbands and 2 pairs of leggings with elastic waistbands and I wear only those whether the climate is hot or cool and whether I'm in the office or running around on the weekends. I also refuse to buy larger sizes of clothing because I'm afraid that will somehow signal to myself that I've given in and given up! I promised myself that once the office opened back up for everyone else on June 1st, I figured the free lunches would stop and I'd truly be able to eat healthy again and sure enough, that did happen and I've been able to stick with it now for one week consistently.7

Welcome! In order to continue your current path, are you recording your calorie and effort level here on MyFitnessPal? It's been very successful for a number of women here. The simple fact of observing what you eat and drink can provide changes in how you think about calories. Good luck with your journey, and welcome to the June thread! Drop into any conversation where you're comfortable.

Sounds like you love being able to sell things that still have lots of use but you don't want or need them anymore. I love that! I've got to get a couple things up on marketplace, but have an aversion to having people come to my house, so I've been procrastinating.
Health stuff - Whine warning:Yesterday was bad. Made the mistake of accessing my lab results, as they post them online after 36 hours. I'm still anaemic, my thyroid levels are still off, and on top of still struggling with the SIBO, I've got a urinary tract infection. Luckily, I'm right in the middle of an antibiotic stint that includes Cipro... which is one of the antibiotics they often use for UTIs. It explains a lot of the previous week's symptoms, which I assumed were just part of the overall crap-on-a-cracker that has been my health situation for far too long.
On top of everything else, the UTI just crumpled me for some reason--and I just sat down and sobbed yesterday for longer than I care to think about. Luckily, my best friend happened to call while I was losing my sanity, and talked me out of my tree. She has amazing timing for when I'm in distress. Hopefully done with crying, as I have a telehealth doctor appointment on Monday, and I really don't want to break down on camera.
On the shinier side of things, I don't have A, B or C hepatitis and my A1C is fine, so not diabetic. Yay! They are also sending me the only thing I've found so far that has any success with SIBO - Rifaxamin has about a 70% efficacy rate. However, I don't know when it will get here, as the antispasmodic they sent out May 29 still has not arrived. I could have literally walked up to the pharmacy that is 50 miles away in the time it's taken so far. Gotta love the VA.
Light is dawning outside, another half hour and I'll be able to load the car for this week's farmer's market. Went into a bread-baking orgy yesterday, so I'll be taking cinnamon rolls and three dozen dinner rolls to sell, which could also be used as slider buns. Last week's cookies, too, which I froze the minute I got back. Need to remember to take a plate to hand out samples. Also taking ten herbs in four-inch pots to sell - from mustard greens to dill. They've been outside almost three weeks, so they're in pretty good shape. Kept a full set of my own in the raised beds, and want to try to do some dehydrating once it's time to thin them out.
And, overall, feeling better. Darkest before the dawn and all that.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Morning ladies
My brother called at 6:45 and woke me up,didnt sleep well so that threw a wrench into the monkey works..will try and get a little more rest and then get up and get some cleaning done..i really have to get some stamina back so that i can get things done.
Got a call from.social security yesterday seems they havd faxed disability paperwork over twice without hearing anything.. so i called and spoke with office manager.. she said no we havent recieved it ,told her it had been sent twice, ohhhh she looked again and found it ugh.. so here is hoping they get everything over to SS in a timely matter..
All the rest of the Drs have done there part and with the hospital system i went through they have to have records sent to SS within a 5 hr time period..
Well i hope everyone enjoys there weekend.4 -
Lisa ~ So sorry for all your medical woes and hope you get a diagnosis and workable plan soon.
Allie ~ Hoping SS gets all the paper work they need and fingers crossed you will get your disability.
Sue ~ I can't have the cataract surgery until I have nodules removed from each eye. Evidently, these interfere with the way light rays are bent as they enter the eye and cause blurriness. The dr said that the procedure will be quick but it has to be done in each eye 3 wks apart to facilitate healing. I do not look forward to it as they will have to put a lens in after they remove each nodule and it may be painful for a few days. After these have healed, I can get scheduled for cataract surgery and hopeful it will be done in September.
Welcome to all who have been visiting and please continue to stay with us as we love meeting new people and sharing our lives.

Flowers bring me joy and remind me of the goodness of people. Yellow iris from a friend who has since moved to Texas. It turns out it was a large glorious deep purple that got a Y last year someone giving away hoping would find a good home...

Penny: Congratulations on completing a half marathon!!! Amazing achievement!
Lisa: I am sorry about your health issues and hope you will be able to access medicines that will help. You seem to be having a wonderful time with the farmer’s market. Good for you! :flowerforyou:
Carol: Good wishes for successful eye treatments.
KJ: Good luck to your nephews Ben & Ethan as they burn up the track.
Margaret: The Iris are gorgeous! :flowerforyou:
Allie: Hoping that Social Security gets the paperwork that it needs so that it can qualify you for disability.
I have two determinate tomato plants in my tiny garden. Last year’s beans were frustrating beyond words can say because local deer kept eating the plants. I am not growing beans this year, but I am growing herbs and the two tomato plants. I like to use our dehydrator for the herbs. Blueberry bushes are prospering so far. I should have pruned them in the fall and didn’t, so this year’s crop is likely to have many smaller berries.
