Our son and daughter in law are getting ready for the birth of their second little boy this fall. We are planning to go to Virginia and stay with our grandson at home while they are having the baby at the hospital. I am in the process of knitting a new baby blanket for the new baby, but I have goofed it up twice so far. Luckily there is plenty of time to start over again.

Cheri – Your baby quilt is beautiful! What a lovely gift it will be for the new mom. You are inspiring me to create something appealing for our unborn grandson. I am planning to knit his baby blanket. I’ve already started—twice. :embarassed: Luckily I have a few months to get it done.

Barbara, I don't have to bike on the road, I wouldn't be comfortable with that. There is a commuter/recreation trail that I can get onto just a few blocks from home (residential streets) and spits me out just a few blocks from work (nice wide sidewalk!), so no road travel for this kid.
Cheri, that blanket is amazing! There is a way to not have the ends so sew in, it involves tying one colour around the other and then vice versa, but you have to be careful about how long your yarn is or you get "carry over". Or you can end up a bit short. And then, too, in a pattern like yours, you would be forever cutting and tying. Sewing in the ends seems a friendlier way to do it!
Kylia, I'm so sorry your hubby crashed your truck! Glad that the truck is the only injury tho, well, perhaps hubby's pride, but that is totally salvageable! lol
So, I'm hoping to post this photo, we'll see what happens. This little fellow got into our garage, we were out there too, so were able to escort it back out, hubby got it most of the way out and I was encouraging it to keep going to a safer spot farther away as we were preparing to move our car. It finally stopped and kind of turned around and sort of stood up, it took me a few seconds to realize what it was doing, finally realized it was hissing at me! It was so cute! It's only in a spoiler as it takes up too much space otherwise, I promise it's not scary! That's my index finger that it's hissing at.

It is way too late for me to still be up, so hugs to those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Looks like we're poised and ready for Delta lockdowns here in Tassie. ( See more about the virus in our Group )
The virus has not arrived here yet but we're expecting it any day and when it does appear, we'll lock down.

I can hardly wait! I might start bringing stuff home. :)

Evelyn I was watering my plants last night and also got visited by a garter snake. It was about a foot long and as big around as my pinky. Snakes are not my husband's thing. He quickly moved to the backyard when I mentioned it! He told me to remove it. I said it rats things we dont want and is fine. I left it curled up under a plant. 😉

Allie So sorry! Been there, done that with my MIL and her"man" with both the property she owned inFL and the one we go to in KY. I had to walk away from going as it was so stressful. Now.....the KY farm is wonderful. I find it peaceful and refreshing. I hear your brother and understand it is a lot of work, but attitude goes a long way! Would a few day trips work with Talia versus the cabin?

Better get the day going. Stuffs to do before work. DH has a dr appointment first thing.

    Have an awesome day!

3: Be kind and supportive to everyone you interact with. Friends, yes. Part D customer support not so much. :sigh:

    Whine.
In light of the resurgence (up from average <3 cases/day to an average of 11 cases/day the past 5 days) and arrival of the delta variant in our tiny county, Joe has asked me to consider carefully my activities. Yah. Thinking must forego indoor activities with known unvaccinated, like line dancing. Folks at T’ai Chi all claim to be vaccinated, as do most (?) at church. Hard choices. Again. :

Julie “ankle height motivation” sounds like a French translation of “my spirits are/energy is in my socks”. Your clothing purchases look very stylish. Is the pool in your apartment complex? ((hugs)) of course this is the place to share the shadows as well as the brights. Sending healing thoughts for Thursday’s surgery.
Kylia “…7 hours of paperwork…” Bravissima! “trying to flatten the gravel in the drive” with your truck? Bet he wishes he’d’ve grabbed a rake. . . :naughty:
Welcome @Shatszi ! That’s what my grandfather called my mother and aunt when they were little girls ;)
Cheri  the crocheted hearts blanked. Beyootiful!
    Heather con VERY gratulations!
Kay “double first cousins”? means both your mother and the gal’s bio grandmom’s parents married siblings? Not theirs of course! ;)
Allie glad to hear you’re getting better rest. Sad to hear your brother is off his meds. What Kim said.
Vicki “…he is trying to get some stuff done, and it is better I am not there to watch . . . “
    Debbie I admire you, Cheri, Heather and all who can sew. Not my gift. :}
Sue in WA “… (DH’s parents) were afraid …” understand this. Believe Mama and Papa would have felt the same way, so didn’t risk it.
Barbie great news about Jake’s day.
Pip you continue to amaze and inspire.
Tracey so sad to hear you have no days without pain. ((hugs))
Flea please consider a sign asking people to mask in your office due to your low white blood cell count. You have the right to protect yourself. Period.
Evelyn hissing at you for saving him.
    Machka what’s a MUP?

Hmm, looks like scale’s showed below 2019’s ticker weight the past week. If sustained to the 15th will update. Yay!

    Lighter, lovelies!

MUP is Multi-Use Path. Usually bicycle, walking, running but sometimes a horse-riding path as well.

The good ones are sealed/paved and wide enough so that bicycles and walkers/runners can share them comfortably. Less good are ones which are some sort of gravel and not very wide. It's difficult to ride on gravel.

I never mentioned this but when I was talking about our MS jerseys?, I started wearing them on our morning walks. I never wear them. I rarely wore them in Washington when we were riding outside everyday and they were just in a bag so I figured, why not.

<3Allie, Do you have caller ID? Can you not answer the phone when your brother calls and then delete the message he leaves or block him completely? He keeps upsetting you and you continue to talk to him expecting him to be different.

:) We have some good friends who are not vaccinated and we told them not to come visit us, not even outdoors

Watching the pole vault and running events and remembering my run racing days way, way back when. I loved the 200K then but also raced the 100 and 400. :)

Today was dentist day for my husband and me so we relaxed this evening.
