Kids fed.
All on their tablets and iplayers. Soon bathtime and Bea to bed. Others allowed up until 8.30 on Saturday.
The dog, Nellie, is gone! The parents have not yet fessed up, but the kids told us she has gone to a good home, where there is always someone at home and they are very good dog trainers.( They really were not in a position to look after a dog, let alone a needy one! ) It's a huge relief to us as we found her impossible.
Soon I will run out for fish and chips and Prosecco.

Happy Saturday, or whatever you are presently in.👍
Yesterday I had a plate of cheeses, marinated artichoke hearts, and some bread. Then shared a salad bag with husband at 4 pm with bread. I put a sliced tomato in mine. I envision us one day eating our afternoon meals together on a permanent basis. We are saving a lot of money with son only joining us for the weekends for meals because he works nights. Also I just fix less if its just husband, but many of the foods husband likes, are not ones I like. Like tonight is a salad bag, and French dip sandwiches with fries. Too much bread! Plus I would rather have cabbage, some sweet onion, kielbasa sausage, and a handful of baby potatoes simmered in some of my chicken broth. That's my heaven!
So I am stinking up the house, as husband puts it.

Welcome @ezraella this is a great place for “inspiration, encouragement, and just plan connection!”
Welcome @nbbaby Sharon in Winnipeg! Glad Heather shared her journey with you. Truly inspiring. Start where you are and do just one thing, like log every bite lick or sip, no matter what. After a week, add another thing, one healthier meal a day, or find a 5 minute chair exercise on YouTube. You CAN do this.
Michele I think both before and after pics, please. If she’s too risqué you could put her in a spoiler Reminds me of one of Heinlein’s characters body painted to look like a mermaid with shells over her tatas. . . or were they just textured paint? Good luck at the dermatologist. Hope s/he is less quick on the freeze gun trigger than mine…erase that. Quick freezes are so much better than biopsies. Think you’re right about sitting and joint pain. I ache more when I sit, or loll around, too much. your comment to Beth about her husband shrinking her clothes.
Kim “…to say no nicely” Brava! Last hour screens off crush dog and plan
Vicki “sit around taking about stuff that never gets done…” oh yeah. If I were in charge, I’d email the list of things agreed to be done to everyone a week before the meeting, reminding them they’ll be asked to report on their progress at the next meeting. And I’d put a tiny, 3 minute “hour” glass on the meeting table when anyone takes a turn in discussion… but then I’m a martinet…
Barbie “reading just enough to get drowsy”
Katla luck and love and hugs. One of my buddies commented yesterday how lonely her walks will be when her Bella passes.
Beth thanking Goodness for the good ortho news. Thanks for your knees/ hips orientation input. Sounds right to me
Heather Bravissima for the new tablet success! Patience, persistence, courage rewarded! Your light lunch menu has my mouth watering. Was a little startled to notice so many unmasked in the audience. Edie’s art!
Pip WOW. I’d visit that financial guy frequently “No open bathrooms” :noway: the tiny waterfalls! Really the sea otter pic. This morning the Monterey Bay was gray but thought I saw an otter backstroking through the kelp beds…
Rebecca fingers X’d for annual lease renewal and quick oven repair or replacement. “…stinking up the house…” just wait til I open my Port Salut. It may drive Joe out to the garage…
Yay Annie! Walk ON!
Machka I could never get ready to leave the house in 40 minutes. You are a speed demon! Good plan to schedule rest days after the end of month procedure. Good luck!
KJ con VERY gratulations on finally being official! You’ve really earned this.
Allie happy for your time at the sea. Glad time with brother and friends was good. Sending good thoughts for Tuesday’s kidney Dr. appointment.
Julie standing meetings, brilliant. Don’t know anything about laser treatments for scars, but my dermatologist cauterized the area where she removed the we-hope-it-was-a-cyst for biopsy. Nasty smell, like burning teeth. Made a hard scab that pulled on tender surrounding lip skin. Was a relief when it fell off the next day. Vaseline petroleum jelly is my friend.
Kay thanks for the update, prayers continue. How many days til the sugar cravings got gone?
Sue ((hugs))
Tracey “vampire” and “pug rock band” your grandson’s wit. His apple didn’t fall far… ((hugs)) for your friend, who’s lucky to have you to talk to. If I sat with my hips below my knees, I’d need a crane to get out of the chair.
Lisa thanks for checking in. Thoughts with you.
Karen ((hugs)) and prayers for your brother’s continued recovery.
Terri “habits” instead of goals or aims. Brilliant! Fool the mind and the good follows.
Margaret, your compassionate message to @nbbaby. Funny you mentioned BP and sleep apnea. Stumbled on this last week. Though it looks silly, think I might give the paper tape a try. Also, I put a drop of essential eucalyptus oil on my pillow case. Soothing memories if nothing else
Kylia good to see your smiling face.
Carol blessings right back atcha!
Debbie SMH at inspectors going against written Dr.’s orders. :noway:
Rita sometimes we can’t just pull ourselves out, we need help from friends, loved ones, Heaven, or healthcare professionals. ((hugs)).
Kiz your lipid numbers are the poster children for whole food/gut biome/reduced carb. Well done!
Time to get goin’.
Lighter, lovelies!

Afternoon ladies
Well its been a long day but very satisfying..
Got a load of laundry done. And got both the chairs and the table put together.. the table and chairs fit my space so much better than what I had.. very happy with the outcome..
Trudy came down and sort of moved a few things around and makes my place look a bit more spacious.. tomorrow i take all th cardboard and garbage out to tbe dumpster..
This afternoon I took Tracy out for lunch,we stopped at Michaels to get a canvas framed and she got a couple of things there. And then we went to Once upon a Child.. a children's comsignment shop and she got some cute things for the little guy..
Kyle and Taliah went up to 6 flags as they have a season pass and they ride the roller coasters all day.. nope. No way.. but they enjoy it and they spend quality time together .. plus Tracy gets to rest.. she is coming up on 24 weeks this coming Tuesday.. and it was so nice to spend quality time with her..3 -
Barbara, this is the weird thing. The sugar cravings were gone immediately! It’s a miracle!
Today is the first day I’ve had a desire for an afternoon snack. I had an oz of mixed nuts. I think it’s partly because my breakfast wasn’t quite as substantial. I’ve eaten all the zucchini carrot soufflé muffins and only had one hard boiled egg instead of two. I accidentally bought pork sausage instead of turkey. I could taste the difference immediately and, interestingly enough, I prefer the taste of turkey sausage.
No word on the sister in law today. I guess no news is good news.
I had over 20,000 steps yesterday. I can’t remember my last 20,000 day. I have a little over 12,000 right now and am pretty much done for today.

Good evening all:
Checking in and caught up with reading. I have been reading every other day but not much in a talking mode (and I find if I am not on everyday by the time I get ready to comment, someone else has already said it.
New ac, furnace, and tankless hot water heater installed and working. I am quit pleased with AC and tankless water heater (haven't tried furnace yet). Mainly nice that going into this winter I don't have to worry about furnace and water tank going. I was able to survive a week or so with no ac, but no heat or hot water is a different story.
CovidDelta variant hitting my county hard. Have had about 30 staff exposed, several positives and staff families positive. One member's FIL in hospital on vent-he went into cardiac arrest last night. Right now he is stable. However, his oxygen levels were in the 70s so you wonder about damage and recovery from that. His wife also has covid but was not hospitalized. Both have been vaccinated. Scary times.
Going to spend time tomorrow with brother and sil who are in from Florida and brother and sil who live here. We have all be vaccinated so I will chance it. I will keep a mask handy since I don't know about brother's kids who may drop in. It will be nice for the three of us to be together, too bad our oldest brother isn't here (he is in Georgia and being very cautious). Brother and SIL came up from Florida so she could spend a bit of time with sister who is going through cancer treatments and not doing overly well.
Off to get some sleep. Going to church in am and hopefully get a few things picked up around house before family gathers.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio6 -
Machka - your new chair looks like what I need. I have been looking but haven’t found what I like at a price I can afford yet.
Heather - What fun watching the Grandkids.
Stress - I have managed to keep my stress to spurts, I haven’t signed up for any committees or anything outside of work that demands my time and attention since we moved to Alberta. When we first moved here the girls were young I worked shift work and we didn’t have a car. For those reasons it wasn’t feasible to sign up. By the time the girls were older, we had a vehicle and I was working “normal” hours I had seen so many women overextend themselves and cause themselves so much stress I decided it wasn’t worth it to me. The stresses I have are usually short lived, work related or financial.
Katla - I hope you get your 3rd dose appointment soon.
Margaret - I don’t know sleep issues can affect blood pressure. I need to tell my DH that. His sleeping habits are terrible.
Rita - I’m my opinion even those that “have it worse” shouldn’t negate your own struggles. I found when I was really depressed and considering divorce the two things I did that really made a difference was deciding I could only change my reactions and I started reading positive quotes and sharing them on FB every single day. I did that continuously for 2 years. Now I do it if I’m starting to feel down and have managed not to sink hard for 3 years now.
Beth - you are correct. I thought that is what I had written.
The news from the doctor must be a relief.
Allie - it sounds like a wonderful time away. Happy you had a nice day with Tracy.
Katie- sorry to hear about your SIL, I pray she comes through.
Rebecca - beautiful photo, is that a counter you can eat at?
Barbie - I wish I could put a 3 minute timer on the leader in my group, she tends to make sure all meetings are centred around her and what she has accomplished. Nothing ever gets fixed.
I have done some tidying and changed some decor around today while adding some Fall accents.
I also went to an antique store and spent the money that Kaitlyn’s friend gave me for my birthday. I bought a utensil crock that is around the same era of my table. It is chopped and looks well loved like my table so a very nice fit.
Tomorrow I will tidy some more and maybe start on my project for the girls Christmas presents.

Did Denise Austin’s Boot Camp DVD then took a walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do a part of the Yoga for Weight Loss DVD.
Went to South Carolina to pick up a piece of bisque (like we need more, I have enough to keep me busy until 2024 at least.)
Church tonight. To be honest, I don’t know that I would normally go, but this one guy asked me to lector for him and I said that I would. He lectored for me when we needed to go to FL so I feel I should reciprocate. Have tickets for the Green Room tonight to see “9 to 5”. So I know that I won’t get my steps in.
Heather – breathe! I’m glad Nellie went to a good home. How do the kids feel about this?
Vince wants to cut the grass tomorrow
Julie – I was thinking that if all they needed to do was freeze the skin tag off, I’d have him do it. But he said that it would require surgery to remove it, so since it really isn’t bothering me, I just decided that I forgo it
Sharon – welcome. What works for me is if I don’t have anything to eat after dinner or just have Saltine crackers. Now do I do that???? Nope
My hip is still hurting a bit. Wish we’d heal the way we did when we were 20!
Barbara – when I went to South Carolina today, this is the lady who I got the mermaid from. I noticed that on her mermaid she had shells.

I can get it down to 35 min ...
About 20 min in the bathroom & shower
About 10 min getting dressed
About 5 min throwing on some foundation, running a comb through my hair and spraying some hairspray.
If I've got a couple extra minutes for some reason, I'll use the hair dryer as well.
I don't like getting up and getting ready for the day so there's no sense prolonging it.

[Well that was interesting!
Thanks for the nice words Heather, I love my pretties, even though I probably do need a cabinet of some sort.
Tracey, that is a bay window that's in front of our kitchen sink area.

I'd be with your husband, I think.
A garden salad and a grain bread sandwich sounds yummy to me. The sandwich could be chicken or tomato and cheese or similar.

Oh, wow I didn't realise that - that really doesn't seem worth it! especially for one skin tag on the back. Maybe bigger ones need to be removed surgically.0 -
The parents got back around 11. 40 pm. My son drove us home. They seemed very pleased and happy with their evening in London.
Kids were great. They are growing up now and can do so much more for themselves. Fun to be with.
Michele - The parents still, haven't talked to us about it. The dog never seemed happy to me and very needy and neurotic. Edie said they were 'very sad', but the explanation they had been given seemed to satisfy them and they understood. I hope to hear more in due course. I am 100% sure it is best for the dog. It is typical of my DDIL that she was able to make that decision, which must have been hard, and I respect her for it.
Definitely a 'learning experience'.
