Lisa - I'm just running off, but wanted to say, I'm glad they are making progress in your diagnosis and treatment. Much love, my friend.

Been reading posts! Sending love, healing thoughts, calming thoughts, strengthening thoughts to all who need them. Last day of childcare for the week. 11 kids today; one is a newborn (8 weeks old). I can do this, I can do this, I can do this, (pls send prayers). On a side note: Tim just left to go to the store and get me some wine. lol ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)4

Lisa, I'm glad there is some progress on a diagnosis and treatment for you.
Tracey Your painting is great. Looks like something fun to do.
Kim I wouldn't like the meal you are cooking for yourself but I love the idea of cooking exactly what you want and not worrying about whether anyone else will like it.
Barbara, My jury duty day turned out to be a fun adventure. Once I found the restroom and that I felt safe enough in a room full of people, I relaxed and enjoyed the unfolding of the drama which included a lot of waiting but I brought a library book, audio book, and e book. Because of Covid restrictions, the jury pool was limited to only 25 people so after all the questions from the attorneys (they didn't ask me anything) and the instructions from the judge, a few people were released for hardship or cause and the rest of us had to wait from 11:45 to 3:15 while they did the same with 25 other people. Then we reassembled for the attorneys to select the jury which didn't include me and the rest of us were sent home and told to call over the weekend to find out if we would be needed next week. I have watched a lot of courtroom drama so it felt like being on the set of a favorite show only less dramatic. The case was of a man accused of assaulting a police officer. During the long break, I alternated periods of walking with sitting in my car eating the food I brought and reading. It was about 45 degrees and not raining.
I was especially grateful because the week before they had selected a jury for a trial expected to last six weeks of a many accused of three murders.
Heather, I hope you enjoy your trip. The farthest I've gone since Covid was the 14 mile trip to jury duty on Monday.

LOL The reactions to Calamari for thanksgiving is why I don't make it for company. Squid needs a long slow cook or quick and HOT its how the collagen reacts to heat that means if you cook it too long, but not long enough it gets very tough. So I have put it in fish stew and cioppino with the long slow cook, but never breaded it and deep fat fried it. Although I do deep fat fry when needed (not often due to calories).

I caught the earlier train so I've had plenty of time for a cookie, a cup of tea and a nap.
Now waiting for my son and his girlfriend to pick me up in about 20-30 minutes.
Very comfortable in a small 'crash pad' room. Double bed etc.
I felt fine on the trains as they were not at all busy. But the tube was a bit more crowded. I was wearing a mask.
I was so worried about my ticket being swallowed up by one of the many machines on my journey, that I asked to be let through all the barriers!
Journey door to door was 4 hrs 15 mins.
Kim - I adore squid in all its forms. Yum!

Darn daylight savings time ha ha had us out earlier than normal.. so all but one of the thrift shops are closed because of it being a holiday week but luckily we found a salvation army and Doris found a few books there.. im out in the car while she is in the thrift shop not my thing, she and my mom adored poking around those places, and bless her heart i told her to have a blast.
We drove by Ruth and Rays house it was just so sad all overgrown and abandoned..they had a reverse mortgage on it so who knows what will happen now..2 -
Kelly ... yes, yes you can!
Lisa ... glad your procedure is over!
Allie ... this is the second time you've mentioned how well you sleep in a hotel bed ... which I find astonishing as I can never sleep in an unfamiliar bed. You need to discover what is different about hotel rooms/beds and duplicate it at home.
Karen VA ... cute turkey bread ... any time I try something like that I have an entry for "Nailed It."
Machka ... as usual, beautiful photos.
Got the ok yesterday to weight bear on the broken leg 100%, discontinue the leg brace and the walker and drive. So I did all of those things, along with a PT session, and paid miserably for it last night with every muscle I own screaming. Today I am back using the walker (I'm very wobbly without it) and will be going nowhere today. I evidently need to take things a bit slower. But I definitely ditched the brace ... it was falling apart and wouldn't stay in place.

we really like calamari here- fried if it is done right is really amazing. Soaked in clam juice over night then fried, tastes like abalone(the way mom and grandma made it-back when we had all the abalone we wanted, caught fresh in front of our family cabin)0 -

That is super cute. I was wondering how you were going to make a turkey out of dinner rolls.

Nah, I didn't make the dinner roll turkey - Great Harvest Bakery made it.
Here is their picture of it from their website which does it justice:

Well I had a wonderful lunch with my cousin. We shared fish tacos and Carolina pork tacos, and I even had cheesecake for dessert, despite my allergies. Then tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and Friday another lunch date. I tend to only log breakfast on cheat days like that. It preserves my streak but then it's not accurate. And I know I will pay the price. I need some salad days to balance my cheat days.

I will be taking Southern cornbread dressing and gravy and Italian cut green beans cooked with a bit of ham. Strange I know.

What I do many times is I buy a platter/dish at the salvation army, run it through my dishwasher and put the food on that. Then if I leave it, what have I lost $1?
Michele
I did that with our dessert auction at church and a few times, they insisted on returning them to me
Yea, many times that happens to me. But I know in my heart that if they don't, I'm not going to get upset

Love you Pinochio
Machka - I don’t participate in any groups that require a long term commitment. I take different lessons or classes but they are something I commit to for a few weeks and then leave. All of the articles, newsletters, ads, etc go to a separate folder if I chose to read them I know where they are, but I rarely do.
I worked 12 hour shifts for the first 3 years I was in Alberta and after that until this job I never knew if I would be able to leave work on time and was in call at least every other week sometimes for longer than a week at a time. I just never felt it was fair to commit to anyone or anything because I was scared I couldn’t be reliable. Now I look at things and think I don’t need the commitment as I don’t feel I’ve missed out on anything.
I love my evenings and weekends to have to do what I feel like at the time and very rarely feel stressed about anything outside of work.
Katla - I don’t blame you for being agitated with your son. I can’t say I don’t understand his concern with a new baby, but still as a New Grandma that travelled that far I would be upset too. Happy to read you are at your sons.
Pip - poor Yogi I hope the ointment works.
On receiving help - when I couldn’t bend or squat last Spring. I was shocked that my DH just did things. Of course, he never noticed the toilet that needed cleaned or the floor that needed scrubbed, but I let it go. My daughter actually came and helped me rearrange my cabinets so I could help myself more easily when DH started working evenings. Both of my girls and one friend will do things if I ask, but I hate asking. I feel like I’m a bother.
Vicki - I’ve heard a lot of people are suffering from long covid. It’s a terrible disease really.
I have done some painting the last two evenings. I bought some pieces at Michael’s after Christmas last year and hadn’t done anything with them. I finished Michaela’s last night. Started Jonah’s tonight.
Going to be a massively busy week at work. I’m feeling pressured to complete a project that I should be spending about a week on. In the meantime she keeps adding more and calling me for meetings asking the same questions over and over.

Wish we had something like what you have for hanging those candy canes
Loved your ceramics. Since I work with glazes, many times I would like a shade of a color that only comes in an envision. Oh well.... like a sparkly gold

Hi all. Just a quick update. We did our weekly shopping this morning, so lots of fresh produce for the week.
I had a call from the hospital this afternoon and my day procedure is next Thursday 2 December. I have to book in at 7am, so it will be an early start. The hospital is about a 30 minute drive from home. have to go for a Covid test on Tuesday 30 Nov then isolate until I book in. Our house has enough room to do that easily. DH will drive me to the hospital.

Company is here. They were late last night and did not get here until about 11:00 pm. Today my son and DDIL are having lunch with friends and will be over here late this afternoon. DGS took my car to pick up a friend and spend some time. He really liked his afghan that I made, so glad since he picked out the yarn.
I saw the pulmonologist yesterday. He says things look good and gave me a just in case Rx for if I have a flare of the sarcoidosis like I did this past Sept. I used the one he had given me previously which had expired in 2016 but it still worked. He says probably not the best idea.
Lisa- colitis is no fun but at least you have a diagnosis which should lead to some treatment options.
KJ - You can do it, you can do it!
Heather- enjoy your visit.
Pip- glad Yogi is improving.
Katla - hope you are enjoying your time with family.

Beth - woohoo! for the 100%, and commiserations for the overdo. Human nature if there ever was--I did something similar today, because my brain was so happy it forgot my body is not completely healed. Glad you're using the walker until you're safe--falls are scary these days.
Sue in WA - Glad you've got company in for the holiday.
Terri, our Irish lass - Hope the procedure goes well, and the recovery is quick and painless.
Allie - love seeing you have a good time.
Heather - Trains were one of my most wonderful experiences during my years in England. Loved traveling there. Here, it's a car or possibly a bus if you live in a large city. Trains are for the very large cities like Chicago or New York, but passenger trains are few and far between in the country. Hope your visit with your son is wonderful.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all who celebrate. Right now, we're planning to have roast chicken, something we will enjoy much more than turkey. The only turkey I truly enjoy is the turkey sandwich on white bread with mayonnaise the day after. I found the chicken on sale for $1 a pound, and bought two while I was at it! Will miss having my daughter and the grands here but should be seeing them in late December.
Cheers, y'all!
Love,

Had a fabulous evening out with my son and his girlfriend. They picked me up and we went back to their house. Then out to the micro brewery. Then along to the vegetarian Persian restaurant. Delicious food. Back to the brewery. More booze. Then walked back to their house and I ordered an Uber. Quite cheap! Got back to the hotel happily.
Us in the micro brewery.
I think Jo is beginning to feel a bit more relaxed around me.
Hoping for a good night's sleep.
