Good morning to all. 1lb down on the scale this morning. Daily weighing for now helps me keep track of my days but I'd eventually like to stick to Thursdays weekly in the coming months.7

Good morning everyone!
I'm feeling much better this morning, all thanks to doing absolutely nothing but scrolling my phone yesterday, taking dayquil/nyquil, eating spicy ramen, and drinking lots of tea. That's not true, I did make some really great spaghetti yesterday evening, and I had a little- I'm learning the "right" way to make pasta through a youtube series called "Pasta Grannies." I didn't make my spaghetti from scratch, but there are plenty of little tricks I am putting in my box.
Today I'm still going to take it easy, although I'm going to do more than yesterday (low bar, ), and try to eat closer to normally, since my throat is only a mild nuisance today and my sinuses have cleared up.
I saw 192.4 again on the scale this morning!? I'm going to bring back a classic for this state of affairs (which I'm not at all mad at).
Maybe my ovulation day was yesterday?? Idk, usually I see an increase for 2-3 days, high on ovulation day, then whoosh back to pre-ovulation weight after. Eh. I'll certainly take it.
Tag party!
@_manny_702 I call my kids "my little petri dishes" sometimes. One day they'll be old enough to get it, and then I'll be in trouble, haha.
@jazzadesigns Sometimes it's nice to set a small goal when you know a bigger goal would definitely be out of reach. I like it.
@cowgirlslikeus86 I love the little bikinis! 7 lbs in a month in the 180s is a lot for your height, but shoot for the moon, land on a star, as they say.
@lmgoff232 YAY FOR A GREAT DATE! Not enough people go dancing these days, I love this. I'm glad to hear you're out having a good time after all the stress you've been under.
@goal06082021 that wrap sounds SO GOOD. Is it a local chain, or a national one? Inquiring curry lovers want to know!
@roz0810 Good morning good morning! If weighing daily stresses you out, I totally get it. For weighing weekly, you just have to keep in mind that you might see a momentary high weight based on lots of things, but you might actually still be losing, so patience is needed, along with the knowledge that if you're doing everything right, you're not gaining. When I weighed weekly, it actually stressed me out more than weighing daily, but people are different.
Alright, I'm off to do... something. And then I think I'll make an egg white wrap for breakfast. Yum. Have a great day, everyone!

Forgot my ticker. Also @CupcakeCrusoe you mentioned that 7 lbs was a lot this month. I was kinda feeling that way too but I just put a weight that sounded good lol! IDK. Usually I set the bar low so I exceed my expectations. Hazards of being an Enneagram 3. ๐ I just thought since I have 5 weigh-ins in April, thatโs like a little over 1.25 lbs a weekโฆโฆ.I just realized I did my math wrong. HmmmโฆIโm gonna change it to 177. Thanks for pointing that out!
In other news, still alcohol free! Itโs been about 2.5 months since I drank. Gonna have a prime rib and wine one night soon with my new beau. I started dating again and might have found a really good man. We will see because only time will tell.
Oh, I have also had to go shopping recently because a lot of my clothing is just too big anymore. My underwear are too big, my favorite belt is too big. All great problem to have. Also havenโt worn heels in several years except for black tie events. When I was shopping the other day I found five pairs of stilettos and I couldnโt make up my mind so I bought them all :-)

Whew! March was tough! Trying to keep my evening eating under control was a daily struggle. I finished None2Run and started the 5K plan so that was exciting. I didn't lose as much as I hoped for the first quarter but I'm so happy that I didn't get derailed.

@roz0810 I know exactly what you mean about weighing. Friday's weigh in I was back way up. Yesterday I knew I did everything right so I decided to weigh this morning. Down 1.6. I needed that reassurance that I did well. I hate the fear of weighing. Especially when I know I worked hard the day before. I'm going to try and wait until my Friday weigh-in now. Time will tell.๐
@CupcakeCrusoe so glad you're feeling better today!!! And still cooking when you're not feeling well. You're a better woman than me! ๐
@cowgirlslikeus86 those shoes are beautiful! Good for you on everything being too big too wear anymore! That's awesome!!!
@osier5 down 9.4 since January! ๐๐๐๐ that's fantastic!!!5 -
@CupcakeCrusoe it's a local chain unfortunately, so in the interest of not doxxing myself I won't share the name, but I would compare it to Nature's Table, if you have one of those near you.
@cowgirlslikeus86 congrats on shrinking out of your whole wardrobe LMAO, i'm having a similar problem. I overhauled my closet at the beginning of the year, and actually just bought some more new clothes today. TJ Maxx/Marshall's/Ross/outlet stores FTW!
@DanaRenee518 I weighed weekly until I got to Onederland and then started weighing daily, the idea being that I could more clearly see how I fluctuate day-to-day - it's been kind of like exposure therapy, like the emotional hit (positive or negative) from seeing the number has lessened considerably since I started doing it. It's all just data, you know?5 -
Thank you everyone who posts here, I really appreciate all of you sharing your journeys. And thanks very much to the moderator of this thread!

Goal for April: 200? Is six pounds in a month doable?
I tend to build muscle very quickly, so it can mess with my weight totals. Iโll be happy with a general downward trend.
I joined in March, and lost about 9 pounds that month. Iโm doing lower carbs, less calories, and generally more movement. I know that the next month, April, will be a bit slower, especially since weโre in the middle of a major kitchen renovation!
Iโm going to try to get very creative to still eat healthy with a construction zone for a kitchen this month.
Luckily Iโm getting a ton of exercise every weekend hauling demo materials out to the dumpster all day. ๐

I just moved to Taipei, Taiwan from Maryland. Between the stress of quarintine and my inadequate language skills I've dropped 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I know thats unhealthy and am attempting to be more mindful moving forward. I would like to continue to walk 2 mi daily and eat smaller portions.

Yes I totally understand what you both mean about! When I weighed in weekly before I normally always saw a loss but I understand I could possibly see a gain which wasn't a real gain so it's off putting. I'll stick to daily for now7 -
Good morning!
Lost my comment, oops. T-minus 4 days to Spring Break, starting loratidine instead of centirizine because I read a study that centirizine increases appetite, so we'll see if it works as well, started collagen peptides at a half dose inspired by @lmgoff232, feeling better, put together a rolling kitchen island thing yesterday.
Whew. Okay. Tag party!
@cowgirlslikeus86 new beau, new shoes, 2.5 months alcohol free! Killing the game!
@osier5 I loved 5ks the most of any distance. Just hard enough.
@DanaRenee518 I'm really bad at resting and just sitting still, lol. It probably keeps me sicker/more run down. Oh well.
@goal06082021 I'll look for those, thanks!
@KatieHall77 I think it's doable! Kitchen reno, ugh. So disruptive for your life. Hopefully a great end, though!
@syrenzcall hi, welcome! Sounds like you have taken the stress of an international move in stride, after some initial adjustment, good for you.
@roz0810 good morning! Making good progress!
Have a great day, everyone!

My period fluctuation has finally left the building (left the body?) and I'm down to a new low, which feels lovely! BYE BYE, SIX POUNDS OF WATER WEIGHT THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND THANKFULLY LEFT (almost) AS QUICKLY AS IT CAME. Happy Scale is back on track after being desperately confused by my sudden gain.
Been really working hard at OTF - was recently able to jog the entire 23 minute treadmill block without stopping to walk and maintaining decent speeds. It was a major accomplishment for me and my coach noticed and gave me a high five for being able to hold that pace the entire time. I am not sure I've felt really proud of myself in this way in awhile. I do good work at my job, I take great care of my mentees, my dog, etc....but taking care of me? That's been backburnered for so long that I've forgotten how great it feels to do that.12 -

This past week was challenging. Tuesday we had a stressful evening with one of my nephews, leaving me to comfort and cheer up the youngest while my brother took the oldest out of the house. Then Wednesday I started feeling off and had a fever overnight that night and then felt off for a few more days. Over the whole weekend I had high pain levels.
The good news is none of these things led me to overeating or indulgences I didnโt plan for. My brother also cooked a lot this week, which is slightly more challenging because theyโre not exactly healthy meals and can be very high calorie and difficult to log, but I made wise choices with that that fit into my calories, and still met my macros as well as I normally do.
Goals for the upcoming week:
๐ Work on the fruit & veggie goal each day
๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ Exercise twice if Iโm able to
๐ฅฆ Keep getting enough fiber each day

As @CupcakeCrusoe would say, it's time for a tag party!
@CupcakeCrusoe - Glad that you're feeling better and saw that whoosh early in your cycle!
@jazzadesigns - Congrats on the loss!
@lmgoff232 - oooh sounds like you had a great evening! As a fellow tall person, I know the delight of being able to wear heels and still being shorter than your date! Hope you had a nice weekend and enjoyed some relaxation.
@goal06082021 - that wrap sounds delicious!
@roz0810 - I think a lot of us weigh daily but only post weekly - showing overall trends not the regular fluctuations. I definitely ranted last week that I was up 6 pounds in period-related water weight! I was up so much even Happy Scale couldn't deal with it. Just remember that as long as you're doing the "right" things and being honest in your tracking, the scale will eventually show that. Even if tomorrow you're up six whole pounds.
@cowgirlslikeus86 - Yay for a new gent and new heels! And new clothes! I'm with you in the "needs new everything" category of things. Including undies.
@bonniemcc4 - congrats on making the best choices you could in the situation you were in. That's all you can do. I'm sorry you've been in pain and hope that resolves itself quickly.
@_manny_702 - I think a few of us as TOMflation this past week.5 -
Gonna report in on Saturdays. This past weekend was my birthday weekend, and we will just say water weight has made camp for a while. Had a lot of fun and a lot of dessert (and a lot of walking!) so I'm dedicating this week to getting back on track. Took a metaphoric detour on my healthy eating journey, thoroughly enjoyed the view, and back on the main route again.7

I weigh myself daily and record my losses here hopefully weekly or more often.
I have posted on these monthly threads in the past but due to a serious health issue and working through it I had to stop MFP. I had lost 20 lbs during the early pandemic when I was furloughed. When I was laid off I got a new job and started to gain alot back. I have been able to turn that around and slowly lose most of what I gained last year which for me is a great win since I lost while working fulltime. Also my new scale weighs me 6 lbs heavier so I am doing pretty okay with this. However I want to get back to regular exercise which was1-2 weight training sessions and the rest walks upping those to 5 per week.
My wonderful limited duration job just ended last week and I am not quite ready to retire. Fortunately I was contacted by someone where I worked about a job at the same place but in a different department. I will miss my wonderful team. I have to take 30 days off working there to get my severance pay but if I go back they will train me for the new position and I will be in the same pay scale range. It is a permanent position too. My cubicle will be the same size with a window. So hoping this works out. In the mean time I plan to get organized and get back to my exercise and planning healthy meals at home.
I read your wonderful posts.6 -
Things I keep saying that I just don't want to:
โ๏ธ That's the way the cookie crumbles
โ๏ธ Easy as pie!
โ๏ธ Tough as pork chops (My Mom's specifically)
โ๏ธ As cold as ice cream
โ๏ธ That is cheesy like pizza (cheese was my fav food before the peri-meno "new" allergies showed up and I am literally allergic to whey *look at my eye twitchin* I don't like to talk about this for obvious reasons.)
I think that all my sayings are now about food. If I don't reference food, wait, because I will. I don't think I feel that hungry - but I am starting to feel like a person on one of those shows where you drop someone off, and they have to survive trapping and gathering to survive like "Alone". They start at week 3 talking about food all... the... time!! It is kind of funny, must be some sort of survival mechanism? Seriously, I am not that hungry I don't know what is going on.
Nice to see everyone here for the fabulous month of April! I went for the world's most beautiful walk, before I realized that it was yellow air. It is the time of the pollening here in Texas. So, I have been fighting allergies for a week with a sinus attack bonus. Oops! It is just so pretty!! Even my pear trees are flowering.
I hope wherever you are in the world, the land is waking up from it's winter slumber (or about to).7 -
Good morning everyone! It's Tuesday again.
T-minus 3! days! Until spring break. And I am EXCITED and a little NERVOUS because I no longer know what my weight does in regard to ovulation. Today's my predicted ovulation day, and I'm seeing a latest low on the scale. 191.8!
This is anecdotal as mess, but I also didn't feel as crazy hungry yesterday, having taken generic Claritin instead of generic Zyrtec for my allergies. We'll see if Claritin works as well for me for allergies in the next couple of days.
I may have woken up fully awake and super congested at 2AM, but I feel moisturized and as good as I expect to feel, getting over the crud.
I should have taken a picture of my chicken salad wrap I had last night for dinner, yum. It was good. And the lime jalapeno popcorn I had with it. Tonight, planning on some chicken fried (cauliflower) rice. Looking forward to it.
Enough of that, though! Tag party!
@seltzer_lover you are putting in that WORK and doing so WELL I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on fitness improvement, that's amazing!
@hap2go I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. It's so hard. Take care of yourself however you see fit.
@bonniemcc I'm sorry to hear you had a bad pain weekend, but I'm glad that you've stuck to your guns about making good choices in spite of adversity. That's good stuff, right there.
@_manny_702 glad to hear everyone's TOM related whooshes, haha
@kenziestabes I'm glad you enjoyed yourself on your birthday! As you should!
@KeriA Hi! I remember you! Hi! I'm glad to hear you have a job prospect that you will enjoy if you're not ready to retire just yet.
@justanotherloser007 I get... obsessed with sweets, while I'm losing weight. I figure it is some kind of evolutionary survival whatsit. We were never meant to lose weight, only keep it around for lean times.
It never gets old... look at her gooooo. Have a great day, everyone!5
