Enjoyed looking at all the pictures and reading the posts. I spent the day caretaking but have someone here this evening. Heather: I am glad the time for your cruise is coming closer. Katla: I am praying for you and your DH. We had flooring put down so that I could use the hoyer lyft and I have 6 boxes of flooring in my bedroom because I need to declutter the storage area. I may not do this until the spring. But that means living with these boxes in my bedroom until then! I agree and understand that the secret to aging well is to keep moving. But I find if I haven't exercised before noon then I am too tired to do so.
I really am confined even with the caretakers. I dare not go more than 10 miles away.

I had a call from my daughter. DH has been accepted at a nursing home that is only 14 miles from here. The information daughter found shows a 30 minute drive. This is encouraging. ❤️11

I did my dumbbells Yay! First time since my medical scare. I only did twenty reps and I had to skip one exercise, but that's not bad.
Then I let the dog out without getting myself a cookie. Yay! He got his cookie, but I was good for once.
I guess I'm starting my weight loss journey over again.

Hello everyone. This a very busy week for me. Went to visit my friend who use to lead the aerobics class before I took over there were 15 of us for lunch. Toured her independent living facility. Not for me but great for her. \
Not sure what I did!!!!

About the only thing My childhood was without a mother. This was in the day before day care. So every day after school I’d go to a friend’s house. But you know something? It made me stronger. Like when Vince and I got married, I could move further away from my father. When she got married, her mother had to come to the apartment to clean it. It was me who was responsible for remembering things like make sure I have enough shampoo, remember to take items with me when I went somewhere, etc. When Vince and I moved, she said to me “why did you move so far away” (it really wasn’t, it was in the same state even). A few years later, guess where she moved to? A few blocks away from me!!!
went to ceramics tonight. I’m working on Mickey and Minnie mouse molds. I brought Minnie home with me because I have the red paint for her dress and the black paint for her limbs. Hopefully, I can at least get 2 coats of paint on this weekend (I need to put 3 coats on)

walked an hour with my friend- she was venting a lot about her dh and walking pretty fast. I wasn't even sure I was going to go with her this evening but glad I did. Just like last night, right as we finished, I hit 20,000 steps.
Walking twice tomorrow, once Thursday(unless I walk MIL's dog, but not planning on that-she is still complaining about me from Sunday, being late, which I wasn't,didn't give her enough food, which she had said was enough, and I didn't feed the dog, which she had done) then walking twice on Friday.
Going to watch a little tv then grab a shower and go to bed a little early. DH is already in bed because he has to be to work in 4 1/2 hrs so will be up in 4 hrs.5 -

Tasmania Police advise all motorists to reconsider all non essential travel. If you’re in an area that is affected by intense rains and flooding – please restrict all non-essential travel.
So we're staying home.
My husband is shredding the stuff I found in the office which we don't need and which can be shredded. We use that for mulch.
When he's done, I'll get back in there and get to work again.
The room already looks better.

What do you do with pretty cards and calendars?
I'm looking for creative ideas, not "throw them out".

Machka - Throw them out.
If you really can't bear to do that, try your nearest junior school, or nursery. Old people's home? Day care for dementia. Advertise them on Freecycle?
I've decided to take the next two days off writing. It breaks my heart, but I think I will get too agitated if I try to fit it in. This morning I will get my visitors' room and bathroom spruced up. I have to move my toiletry stuff downstairs, as that's my bathroom. Wash my hair first.
Then I will go out locally to get last bits of salad, bread, cheese for tonight. Cold collation, with pork pie and Scotch eggs. They are not great breakfast eaters and we are out for a big lunch tomorrow. I told DH I will pick up milk and berries, bananas, at the same time. That's usually his Thursday job.
I think DH and I will have our normal breakfast, muesli and berries etc, at our normal time and they can surface when they like. I will sit with them, or fit 20 mins rowing in first, and DH will do his exercises. If it's not raining we can walk 45 mins to the restaurant. Ditto back. Or get the bus.
I have no idea what to have for tomorrow night when they've gone, but it's usually scrambled eggs after a big lunch.
OK, so you can see my brain is scrambled! Best to stop feeling guilty about not writing.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx4 -
Sending DH shopping on his own this morning as I am attending a funeral for a friend who passed away last week.
Heather: Hope all works out and the visit goes well.
Good decision! Why feel guilty that you have chosen to leave the writing for a day or two? I never waste energy feeling guilty about my choices.
Machka: I repurpose them in making my own cards.
🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Allie, The situation with taking care of Miles reminds me of when you were taking care of Faith (is that the right name? or was it Faye?). Anyway, alternative care was found for her when you were unable to take care of her, even though you believed her daughter had no other resources. You are an amazing, loving, generous soul, but you are being taken advantage of...again.

Machka, I had to do a double take when I read that it has been 4.5 years since your husband's accident. My perception of passage of time is distorted. I had no idea it had been that long! My heart goes out to you.
Katla, It's great that your husband is being discharged from the hospital. Is he going to the nursing home for rehab, and then coming back home? My heart goes out to you, too.

Yes, 4 years, 7 months, 5 days.
Cleaning out the office is giving me odd little "jolts" as I come across something from the "before time" ... before March 2018. Memories of the way things were. I had shoved a lot of that away into the back of my mind. I won't even look at most photos on my Flickr page from the "before time".

Terri - In the end I couldn't resist doing some 'admin' for my book. I finished exercising, sprucing, and hair washing early, so I had an hour to spare, before shopping. I typed out an old poem, and copied and pasted a previous couple, via email, into my MEMORY ROUGH Word file under 'The Camden Years'. Those years were late 1971 to early 77.
For our USA friends, Camden Town was a newly fashionable part of North London, just being gentrified. Originally, it was a home for Irish immigrants, Greek Cypriots and working class Londoners. Our house was almost completely a ruin.
Now, Camden Market is world famous, and our old area is one of the most expensive parts of London. When we lived there, young creatives were moving in, including Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, and Dudley Moore. Some aspects of that time were wonderful, but I spent a lot of it in severe depression. My poems reflect that.
OK , off to shop, and then to make my brother's bed. Must remember to clear anything incriminating out of the bedside drawer!

Machka, I can really relate to the jolting discoveries as you go through your office. I am having a few of those jolts as well. I sometimes feel as if I have been unexpectedly rear ended by another vehicle.

Karen — I am looking forward to being closer to DH as he recovers from his heart attacks. The new place is much closer to me and our daughter. I hope he will gain improved health and I will be able to see him more frequently. He and I want to live together again. 🤞🏻 (for good luck)4

Ditto here.
Katla - So glad your husband will be reasonably close--and it sounds as if he's going to be well taken care of there, now that he's out of the hospital. I hope you get to see him more.
Second cup of tea brewing, time to get some writing done...
Love y'all,

Machka9: My thoughts go out to you. It is a different experience now. I know there are good days and not so good days. I love your pictures! I cleaned out the office when my DH moved downstairs. I love having a new place to sit and a place to pay bills and do zoom calls!

Katla, Glad your husband will get good care. I hope he'll be well enough soon so he can come home to you.
Allie, No one can take advantage of you without your permission. Your daughter is an adult and made a choice to have another child. You are not required to be a full time child minder for her. It's up to you if you want to be taken advantage of. Your health is important.
Jake goes for an appointment with the heart failure specialist today. I'll stay home with Bessie. He'll be gone for about four hours and we'll have some alone time.
