Karen In response to your comment about liver. You are correct about eating too much of it. That is why it is only 10% of her diet. It is very high in iron. Because she is anemic it is a good food for her in moderation. Getting enough Vit D is a problem where we live.

I make my broth in a crock pot. I cook it at least 24 hours on low. Because DrewB drinks it has no onions. I do add fresh ginger and found organic cranberries frozen to add along with carrots, celery, and apple cider vinegar. I found if I add a marrow bone it makes it gel more. I get a whole roasted chicken on sale and use the bones for my broth. Your right making beef broth is more expensive. It is getting to the point finding beef soup bones might get hard. Fall is the easiest time to find them. Marrow bones can get pricey too but they are more readily available. I also skim off most of the fat when done. You can freeze it too.

Today I was up early because I had a dermatologist appointment. It was a full body look over. I apologized to the older lady doctor for my hairy legs lol! She said she did the same. I have one spot on the middle of my back that they need to freeze. Unfortunately they need to check with my insurance company to see that it will be covered. So I have another appointment to handle that. Things you gotta do when you get older.🙄😜👍🏻
    Today is a pizza.💖

I had one of those done after they found the melanoma and have to go back in June and every six months for the next 5 yrs. Mine is a guy who is about 40 yrs old. Would much rather have a woman but needs to be done. Before I went in, I thought "full body scan" was by a machine, not a hands on, checking every inch.

Yes a strange guy I would feel weird. This lady was older than me, so I felt I was being spied by a grandmotherly type. I was mentioning spots I thought questionable and she would take out a handheld microscope thingy and look at them closely.😜😒🙃

This is the dermatologist that my regular dr sent me to to have him look at the spot on my nose. I had gone to her because I had to get a biometric screening done for our medical and had her look at my nose. She had frozen it off in the past but didn't have the freeze stuff in her office so set up the appointment with dermatology. He looked at it and said beings it had come back, he wanted to do a biopsy, just to be sure it wasn't anything, then he called and it was. So, had to do the full body scan.
I asked him about a few spots. They were fine. He called them maturity spots. I said, you mean age spots. He laughed and said he didn't like to call them that, but yes.
A little ackward but it was less than 10 min and now I know I am clear, for now.

Margaret thanks for the ideas and information. I simmer mine for at least 48 hours. When would I add the other ingredients? I like the idea of cranberries!

Allie nice hairdo! Love your glasses!

This is a picture of the gelatin texture of my bone broth. It is rich with collagen, glycine, glutamine, and other nutrients!

I know that water will keep you hydrated and is good for your body and skin. I know that lotions will help skin tissue as well. But the benefits of bone broth is unbelievable. Here is a link that has a lot of good information in it.

Enjoying a few extra days off. I could get used to this!
We went to Lowes and got more potting soil and some mulch- Mulch is just $2 a bag and the potting soil is $2.39(same ones I paid a dollar more for at Home Depot).
I got all the seeds I wanted to plant in my greenhouse all planted then redid one of my little dwarf citrus trees. It had been in a half wine barrel but the barrel has been slowly falling apart. It dried out so fast because of that and barely was surviving. A few months ago the neighbor was getting rid of the tub from inside of a washer. DH painted it and now it is the "pot". It is a little bigger than needed but works and it will not fall apart.
I also put mulch around some of my raspberry plants.
If we don't have other things to do, I will get started pulling weeds in my garden- it is bad. Haven't been up in it since Oct/Nov.

My skin specialist (a woman maybe 10 or 15 years younger than me) spent about an hour with me, taking photos of my skin and looking it all over very carefully and thoroughly.

My records are on the system now so when I go back next November, she'll be able to compare.
