Waitrose emailed me to say they couldn't supply the PG Tips we ordered and have substituted another brand. Well, we only did the order to get that brand on offer, 4 big boxes, so I will send the substitutes back when the delivery arrives.
Amazon have recently only had them at a much higher price, but I went back to have another look and found them at the same reduced price as Waitrose were offering. Result! They will arrive tomorrow.
Duolingo defeated me this morning. I only do the free version and I ran out of chances. I tried about 5 times and had to keep starting again. Boo!
Raining again, so I think I will stay in. I have enough BP pills until Monday. You never know, I might win the lottery this weekend and not have to sell my necklace.

Annie Given what you said I would put a tracker in something you know he always wears. He is getting to the point where you make the decision for this type of thing not him. You can still give him choices over other things that do not concern his safety. You like Kim are having to become the parent to a parent. Triple hugs.
If he questions you about the tracker you could tell him the doctor prescribed it. This is what worked on my dad and his driving. We told him the doctor told us he could no longer drive.3 -
(((Kim)))— You are a fabulous daughter. You are a hero. Your mom is safe in your care but she is not currently mentally able to make good decisions. I hope there is support for her care in your home so that you can operate your business, ❤️

Kim - I didn't comment on your mother suddenly pulling God out of her back pocket (sorry, weird visual, that). It was just such a very handy moment to get something she wanted, so I did wonder. She looked for and found something she thought you couldn't argue with. That is one wily lady who is used to getting her own way.
Annie - It's so hard to move into that role of the parent with people you love who aren't ready to give it up. No experience in it, so no advice from me, just many hugs.
I don't often do the lists, but here's my 10:1. Age: 63
2. Live: In the Arkansas River Valley for five years today.
3. Work: Retired early at 60.
4. Family: Married 14 years in June. One adult daughter, 32, married, in the Army, just transferred to Hawaii, with two boys and a girl. One son, 30, engaged, in Montana and moving to New Mexico this year. The son and daughter came with my amazing husband, and both call me "Mom," which makes me happier than I would have thought possible.
5. Sports/activities: None right now.
6. Hobbies: I love working in the yard, and I write in a blog on occasion and read every day. My inside crafts have been on hold for awhile. I quilt, crochet, sew and paint.
7. Season: Spring and Fall
8. Pet: One gray, cranky kitty named Egg who turns six next month. At the moment, she is a serial moth murderer. She brings in four or five a day.
9. Favorite Holiday: Pretty much ignore holidays.
10. Food: Lately, grilled cheese sandwiches made on fresh bread for breakfast.
A picture of the littles. The oldest son is living with his dad in Corpus Christi.
Welcome to all who are new here, we're glad you're here!
Not much going on today. Corey took today and Monday off because he had vacation days to use up, so I'll let him take the lead in deciding what to do, if anything. I'm just doing my usual, reading, writing, reading some more.
Later y'all,
Much love,

Geez. Dad must feel sick. He agreed to cancel the lunch date, and he is wearing a mask until we know more. But the primary care has no appointments today, so it sounds like we go to the ER if we go anywhere.7

I just need to leave.

Tracey ... Do you like this job? If the obnoxious supervisor was not in the picture, would you still want to be there? Before you make the decision to leave (or as a bargaining chip as you start looking elsewhere), I suggest going to the person who can make a difference and state exactly what you just told us. Does upper management see the pattern? Do they understand the toxicity of this particular employee and how it's now going to cause you to leave as well. Just a thought.
Kim ... Glad to hear that PT was able to exert some influence.
About me1. Age: I'm in my early 60s
2. Live: near Buffalo, NY
3. Work: I retired early at 60. While I graduated from college with a business and communications degree, I worked part-time jobs that allowed me to care for my son with disabilities. They were jobs that served a purpose, not a calling. When he died, I quit.
4. Family: Will be married 39 years in August. My son with disabilities died two years ago and my other adult son is currently living with my husband and I as he works at becoming financially stable. We moved my 91 year old mother this past fall to an assisted living facility near us. I am with her several times a week.
5. Sports/activities: I watch sports in season. We have a pool and I'm hoping to get some swimming in this year.
6. Hobbies: Reading, baking ... currently lurking on cookie decorating sites.
7. Season: Love Fall
8. Pet: Cecil, a two year old chocolate lab who is way too much for us, but he's beautiful
9. Favorite Holiday: I love Christmas, but my soul sings with Easter!
10. Food: I love food! Most everything. Asian is probably a frontrunner though followed by fish (especially salmon) being prepared well.

ACTIVE APRIL1. Commit to being more active this month starting today. Yes!
2. Spend as much time as possible outdoors today. Yes!
3. Listen to your body and be grateful for what it can do. Yes! I can garden, which requires all sorts of body motion, and cycle.
4. Eat healthy and natural food today and drinks lots of water. Yes! Ate my usual food and drank lots of water up till about 8 pm. We won't talk about what happened after that.
5. Turn a regular activity into a playful game today. Hmmm ... Walking around the shops? Climbing stairs?
6. Do a body-scan meditation and really notice how your body feels. Achy.
7. Get natural light early in the day. Dim the lights in the evening.
There isn't much light early in the day here. Plus I was sleeping then. Plus it was cloudy, drizzly and rainy all day.
But I do dim the lights in the evening. It's one of many steps I take to wind down in the evenings to prepare myself for the night.
8. give your body a boost by laughing or making someone laugh
I rarely laugh. Most things don't strike me funny.
Lots of things amuse me, but not enough for laughter.
9. Turn your housework or chores into a fun form of exercise
I often do, but as today's work involved sitting at 2 computers, I walked on the treadmill during a break instead.
10. Have a day with less screen time and more movement
Unfortunately, today was another day sitting at 2 computers.
But I did go downstairs to row and lift weights.
Hoping the rain will let up soon!!! It's been 4 days already!
11. Set yourself an exercise goal or sign up to an activity challenge
One of my more favourite areas!!
We aim to cycle at least one 50 km ride each month and have been doing that for a while. At our AGM at the end of March, we got a bag full of these each.
We will have to see when we can fit our April ride in ... the 5 days off over Easter would have been good but it rained and rained and was cold and windy. Snow at higher elevations.
Maybe next weekend ... we'll see.
AND ... one of the bigger running events moved their event to September which is fantastic for me. Originally, it was this month, but I was nowhere near ready to even sign up for the 5K. Now I've got the winter to get in shape.
Also, now that I'm working back in the same building I was in about 16 months ago, with many of the same people, we've started our stair climbing challenge again. We are easing into it this month because of Easter and ANZAC Day but we'll be ready to be much more consistent in May.
The stair climbing challenge is exciting because when I'm busy climbing 20+ flights of 20 stairs each day I am at work, I lose weight.
12. Move as much as possible, even if you’re stuck inside
Absolutely! I climbed stairs.
13. Make sleep a priority and go to bed in good time
I do when I have to work the next day ... make sure I get at least 7 hours of sleep.
But I am not keen on that. I'm a night owl and like to get things done late at night. Having to be in bed by 11:45 pm is a bit uncomfortably early.
14. Relax your body & mind with yoga, tai chi or meditation.
Gardening ... will gardening do?15. Get active by singing today (even if you think you can’t sing)
16. Go exploring around your local area and notice new things
17. Be active outside. Dig up weeds or plant some seeds
18. Try a new online exercise, activity or dance class.
19. Spend less time sitting today. Get up and move more often.
20. Focus on eating ‘a rainbow of multi-colored vegetables today.
33. Regularly pause to stretch and breathe during the day.
34. Enjoy moving to your favorite music. Really go for it.
35. Go out and do an errand for a loved one or neighbor.
36. Get active in nature. Feed the birds or go wild-life spotting.
37. Have a ‘no screens’ night and take time to recharge yourself.
38. Take an extra break in your day and walk outside for 15 minutes
39. Find a fun exercise to do while waiting for the kettle to boil (or pan of water.)
40. Meet a friend outside for a walk and a chat.
41. Become an activist for a cause you really believe in
42. Make time to run, swim, dance, cycle or stretch today

Friday -- one of my regular every-other-Fridays off. I highly recommend going to a 9-day fortnight!
Nice enough day to hang laundry outside for a little while.
Got into the garden for about an hour. I'm working on a new garden bed and still not 100% sure what to do with it, aside from getting all the weeds out of it.
Cycled 10.3 km outside.
Ate dinner at Mexican place.
Took Rhody (the cat) for his evening walk.
Cooked up a chicken and veg saag curry in the slow cooker and froze it ... I might have to pick up paneer to stir in.
Identified all the packages of rice we've got in the cupboard. Won't be ordering rice in our grocery order for a while.
Catching up on computer-related To Do list.
Colouring and reading.
That's enough for one day.

Rhody catches moth when they make the mistake of coming into the house. Every so often, I will be given the gift of a dead moth placed on my computer or on my little computer desk near my mouse.
He'll give us his toys from time to time ... carry one to where each of us sits and leave it there during the night ... but why give a toy when a dead moth is available!!

My husband took the job. He starts Monday. 100% remote, so we're not sure yet how Monday will look different from the other days, but at least he won't be job searching. Company computer needs to arrive soon! And he's already told them, during the interview process, that we are taking four days the first weekend in May for his daughter's college graduation and 9 days at the end of June for a Belize trip. (Scheduled just this past week.)

Washed my car ready for its MOT tomorrow. I have flower arranging after lunch, then DH is going to take my car to the testing centre while I get dinner ready.
I almost had a disaster with the MOT yesterday. I must have left the lights on overnight, and it drained the battery, and I only found out when I went to go out after lunch. Fortunately, I am married to an engineer, and he dropped me off at the class, and collected me before taking it to be checked. It passed! yay!!!
Intentions for April:🔹Maintain weight < 140 (I have managed to stay at the lower end of the 140s)

My childhood cat Pippin used to catch mice. If we didn't acknowledge the kill right away, she would drag it up onto the outdoor picnic table we had on the porch ( in front of the large kitchen window) and munch loudly! She also dragged a bunny that was about the same size as her to the back sliding door. I remember having to bury the rabbit (I think it died of fright, no injuries), and my cat kept poking it, (wake up darn it, you've gotten me in trouble)!

Hello again ladies!
I took my dad to urgent care despite my mom's objection. His heart and lungs are fine, no UTI. So likely a respiratory virus. He took a Covid test, results expected Sunday or Monday. I suggested isolation tactics but Mom and Dad don't want to hear it.
Meanwhile, I weighed myself today and I'm down 2.4 pounds! Yippee! Probably last week was a little higher than actual. Yay! It's working!

Worked today. I found out that the score of 92 wasn’t from the health dept (Jerry told me it was) but BK’s inspection. Oh, I told the gal who is on the “labor is down” kick that on Fridays Jerry and I usually separate a container of pickles so that I can pick it up Sat. That’s when she told me Jerry would be there. Fine, it can be done tomorrow. Of course, the store manager told me I should do it if she’s not there but if this manager wants to do it, she can knock herself out. She’s cleaning up and I just said “why don’t you wait until I’m finished? No sense doing double work”. I probably should have explained that the reason I peel the onions is so that I can leave earlier on Sat. (since I have extra prep to do) and be out of everyone’s way. What’s the difference if her “labor is down” on Friday or Saturday? She did confirm that it basically means that they aren’t making the profit to justify the salaries. Which, to me, is stupid. To me, they should have the prep in the morning. How do you say to a customer “sorry, you can’t have tomatoes on your sandwich because the gal who does them isn’t here yet because labor is down?” As a customer, my first question would be “what the h### does that mean.” Then I would feel “I really don’t give a crap about your labor, I want my sandwich” Well, this too shall pass. They get on this tangent then go off. So I’ll just wait it out.
Tracey – hope you feel better soon
Anne – prayers for your dad
Flea – what wonderful news that your husband took the job! Sure takes a lot of pressure off you.
