this is my sloppy joe replacement
Sloppy Sam’s (vegan sloppy joes)
1 cup brown lentils (I have used other color lentils but brown make it look most like sloppy joes)
3 cups water
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups chopped tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 ounces tomato paste
½ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon dried mustard
2 teaspoons chili powder
2-3 tablespoons molasses
Dash of worchestershire
Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan, add ½ teaspoon salt if desired. Add lentils, boil over medium heat for 30 minutes or until tender. Stirring occasionally. While lentils are cooking, heat oil over medium heat in a skillet, sauté onions until they are translucent. Add tomatoes and garlic, sauté for 5 minutes. Add tomato paste, ketchup, and seasonings simmering for 5 minutes. When the lentils are soft drain(if needed) and add to tomato sauce mixture. Stir and heat through. Serve over buns, rice, lettuce wraps…

Allie—I love the photos. They’re excellent. If you have pain please seek medical help. Don’t wait.
Katla0 -
I sure will Katla
Right now.. im ok took some tylenol and will be going to sleep in a bit.. have the fan going and the windows open2 -
Allie-Great pictures! They are a cute couple. I support what has been said regarding the child care issue and your health issues. I am concerned that you first told us you were having flank pain on both side. Later you attributed it to diverticulitis. My diverticulitis has always presented with pain in my abdomen. Flank pain has typically been kidney issues. Don't let it go too long.
Pip-how disconcerting for Kirby. I hope they can find a resolution. Lately I have been thinking that most of the country has a condition for which they need the adult undergarments based upon the ads.
Have been working around the house quite a bit today but checking in here when taking breaks. I am in the same group with whoever said earlier they can't get the house done in one day like they used to. But laundry and ironing are done, kitchen is swept and mopped. Some of the office clutter is put up. I pulled out some summer stuff I had put away-have no clue where I will put it. I need to purge. Granted, part of the issue is that I have dressier work clothes, casual work clothes, work out clothes but it is way over the top.
Youngest son and wife have publicly announced the baby coming to us in November. They are expecting a little girl!
On that happy note I am off to bed. Am attending both church services tomorrow-I am serving as narrator for a program the bell choir is putting on.
Take care all,
Ginny from Ohio

Pip: Yogi is not alone. My eyebrows are turning white, too. 🙄 Healing energies to your wonderful Kirby.
Ginny: Congratulations!!!
Allie: Happy Mother's Day from someone who sees you as one of the most giving and loving people on earth. Now, please take care of yourself with no apology.
Tracey: Though nothing as dramatic as Kim's story, I also left a job that directly led to my useless boss being asked by the board to tender her resignation. You just never know....🤞🏼
Heather: Hearing good music performed live is just The Best!
Good news: My Boys = The Denver Nuggets, have advanced to the next round of best of seven games toward the championship round. Bad news: I'll be out of town for these critical games 😖 While in U.K. the games will be streamed around 2:00 A.M. Gah! Frustrating, but it is what is. I just fervently hope they are not eliminated so I can see them again once I'm back home.
Otherwise, I'm pretty much set. I will be using only carry-on luggage for a 12 day trip beginning this Monday night. Will meet Heather on Tuesday of the following week. Brighton looks amazing and it's a shame I didn't plan for more time there. However, I'm grateful down to my toes for the good health, freedom and fortune that permits me to go at all. Yes, let's all live now.
Stay WELL, friends. We can do this, and anything else we put our minds to.

The plan for tomorrow is to do Gilad’s Express Workout. Gotta lector. I really don’t like going to Sunday mass, I like the Saturday. But the gal made a mistake so I will do it.
Tracey – cute ceramics. I brought my large angelfish to do the black at home since I have black paint. I can hear your relief and how you wish it could last. It will one day
Cut the grass and my pedometer said that the battery was dead. But I just changed it! So I took it out and put it back in, now it works just fine. Go figure!
The railing on our deck was leaning in so we took part of the railing apart and straightened the posts. Yea me who got on an extension ladder. A house painter I will not be – not in this lifetime anyway. At times I was holding on for dear life. Vince finished it since that part meant using the drill and the screwdriver. I didn’t mind that he did that. Got salmon cakes ready to cook tomorrow. Been going in the pool every day
Allie – Rosemarie is right. Tracey IS frustrated and she’s taking it out on you since she is afraid to talk to Kyle about it and she knows that no matter what, you're still going to love her (of course!). YOU are supposed to find daycare?????? Is this your child? No, it’s your GRANDchild. KJ had some great advice and insight. Knowing you, I know that you’re happy for Tom and Elena. Love the photos, the “kids” look so happy. You’ve been having too much pain lately, get it looked at. Don't try home remedies (heating pad, Tylenol). You might be doing more harm than good
pip – so did the pill work? I hope things work out for Kirby. How frustrating it must be!
Katla – what did you learn about your house in Oregon?
Debbie – hope you have a great brunch

I hope everyones tag sales went well and they made out well..Today is a semi cloudy day and 80 outside.. but my left side is very tender and sore..ive had flares before.. so im just going to keep pushing the fluids and take it easy..
Flank pain is usually kidney. If I were you, I'd go to the walk in now given the seriousness of your kidney issues.

14. Get outside and notice the beauty in nature. Done today strolling along the Rogue River.
Thanks to pip’s boot did my 2 sets PT before breakfast. The longer I go without, the harder it becomes. :P Bought too many plants at the Master Gardeners’ plant sale. Tomorrow will be too hot to dig, hope they survive ‘til Monday. Line dancers will entertain at local care facility Mothers’ Day, when the Chetco Effect is forecast to be 80F. Time to get linen shirt and light slacks out from off season bag.
Pip oh I’m so very sorry to hear of Kirby’s difficulty. Fingers X’d the MRI leads to some improvement.
Margaret beautiful pic and true sentiment. Good of you to offer such support.
Heather that pavilion and that you and Johnny were able to enjoy the music and demonstrations.
Debbie how hurt you must be. ((hugs))
Carol, Covid? Oh no! and yes, where is @anniesquats100?
Tina would you share your tofu tacos with pineapple salsa recipe?
Allie what Tracey, Tina, Katla, Ginny, Machka said about going to urgent care. Please don’t wait. Go now.
Kim thanks for the Sloppy Sams recipe.
Ginny congratulations on the November baby granddaughter!
Rori bon voyage. Eager to hear of your trip.

Machka: I would say that saying NO is imperative in those situations.
Allie: (((Hugs))) and go get it checked out.

Going to visit DED today. DYGS is home for the summer from his first year at Uni. DEGS will also be there. Looking forward to seeing both boys.

DH offered this morning to change the bedclothes. I sorted out what he needed and he did it all. It's a super-kingsize, and normally a four-handed job. He struggled with getting the enormous duvet in the cover, but managed in the end. Three cheers for DH!
Quiet day today. I might be able to start planning the painting I'm doing for my brother's birthday present. DH has kindly drawn me some squares of the same size of the mount in the frame. I can practise the layout. I also want to wash my hair, so I'm not in a rush tomorrow morning when I go to the fracture clinic.
Also have said I will ring L.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
Sunday ...
Nearly 2 hours in the garden hacking away at the garden bed I'm working on. Swinging the mattock is easier now than it was in the beginning. We've planted two of the native plants to the right of the hydrangeas. I've still got some more hacking to do before we put in another 2 more, different ones. It's winter now, but hopefully in spring everything will grow well.
Then we went for a short bicycle ride.
I managed to unsubscribe from another frequent email source.

Good morning my friends!
Sorry to be absent, I've been moody this week. I've slept and eaten a lot, and not exercised much. Maybe I had a passing bug of some kind, or maybe just my periodic rebellion against routine.
Then my college buddy came down yesterday and we went out to dinner. I had Thai mussels, an awesome burger with guacamole, and raspberry cheesecake. Lovely! And muffins for breakfast. But boy do I have calories to work off!
I bought the latest murder mystery by Lisa Regan, her #17, and decided to reread the series. So I've
buried my head in books.
Happy Mother's Day! It's a sad day for me as my daughter ghosted me years ago. Eleven times I reached out to her with no answer, before I accepted her withdrawal. She lives with my ex; I suspect he influenced her.
Allie I love the prom pictures! I think it's great that proms are more flexible these days. I remember dressing up expecting a fantastic evening and realizing it was the same old crowd that I didn't fit
into. We left early. See, I'm still moody.

Machka's image, worth repeating:]
Until I met and married Corey, and he brought me the son and daughter I had long since given up on, I let myself grieve each Mother's Day for the children I assumed I'd never have--I found out 25 years before, when I was 25 years old, that none of the surgeries had worked. My now-ex-husband and I were young military, truly skimming the edge of the poverty line. No financial resolutions, the churches wouldn't touch us because I was a heathen, and the states wouldn't touch us because we were military and bound to leave the area. Every door slammed. Even the infinitesimal possibility of a medical miracle was dashed at the age of 40 when they removed all my lady bits. Periods lasting 60 days were driving me into anemia, and it was time.
And then the world shifted, and most of you know the story, so I won't belabor it. November was 14 years since someone called me "Mom" in earnest, and next month is 14 years married to her daddy. I find myself telling Corey that she's called me five times this week! Like it's a bad thing... and then I remember how grateful I truly am for that girl, for the grandchildren who call me "Gramily" (I won't answer to anything else), for making me a mother, finally and forever. Her brother is what boys are, still, as he turns 30 this year, and he is loved, and he knows it, and says it to me, as well, sometimes even without prompting!
While I'm in the middle of it, I can't always tell, but it has truly been a semi-charmed kind of life, and I'm very happy I'm living it.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR11 -
Edie is at Crystal Palace, doing a triathlon. Right now.
Really hoping she does OK. It's a big thing.
This is the progress on the new kitchen extension.
The room above it, which was my son's study is being rebuilt. It is roofless.
Been doing research into my projected painting. Bit nervous.
For some reason, my thumb on my injured wrist has suddenly decided it is strained. It always was a bit arthritic. Trying not to use it.
Annie - It's OK to have a few days like that. I know I have. Good that you know about your habitual reaction to constraint and routine. What does your therapist say about it? I used to sabotage myself all the time. For me it was fear of success and stepping into my own power and light. How about you? Everyone is different. It's a very common response to success, because then we have to move into the next level of choice and responsibility. I always loved that saying,
"Who are you pretending not to be."
Of course, it may have been grief at the prospect of Mother's Day. Perfectly understandable. (HUGS)

Allie - So glad Tracy pulled out of her snit in time for Mother's Day - he's such a charmer! And totally glad to see Carmine smiling. I hope she had a good time!
Annie - I'm so sorry it's been a mentally tough week. I tend to shut down when I feel like that too. Glad you're starting to peel yourself out of that and back to your usual cheerful self! Regarding prom, I was pretty much on your side of that, too. I just knew it would be magical, but it was the same people grouped in their cliques, pointing and laughing at how others were dressed and who brought whom. We'll just say it wasn't magical and leave it at that. That is not an era I would go back to for any money in the world.
Love,

Morning again
I figure things this way with my marriages
I had my children with my first husband,I was in my 20s and it was a rough road and I made it 13 yrs.
I went straight from the frying pan into the fire and started dating Tom..he was totally different than what he became to be.I wanted to make this one work..so I worked hard ..even though as time went on,his true colors started showing.
But you all know that..
I was brought into that marriage to be there for his family, his parents, his aunts and uncles, his first wife and her kids and grandkids
Life is funny that way.
I was very hurt by what Tom did to our marriage, but I forgave him and Elena and am friends with them both.
I will never forget..
But through all that.. I have learned I don't need a man in my life,I have my pup,my friends,my kids and grandkids and im a happy camper !!!
Happy Mother's Day to you all!! Because you are all the best xoxo 😘7 -

So happy for you Allie!!!
Sending love and best wishes to all the mothers of all kinds out there.
We had dinner with the kids and grands last night. It was wonderful, fun and giggly! Also saw some dear, old friends on the way out the door, so that was a great treat.

Annie, I’m so sorry it’s a sad day for you. It’s so painful to be ghosted like that.
Our situation isn’t quite as sad as that…but it isn’t that great, either:
Our kids are very unreliable about celebrations, so we plan our own - like today there has been no word from either of our local sons about Mother’s Day, and we assume they are busy honoring their wives/mothers of their children...so we planned our own fun day. Screw ‘em.
My wife and I both know we are good moms; we just have very busy and somewhat thoughtless children.
It isn’t like I was never thoughtless about my own dear mom at times.
I forgive our sons for being too busy and self-absorbed for us, and carry on.
