Michele, When my primary care doctor got the results of my MRI that showed spinal stenosis, she referred me to a neurosurgeon who recommended surgery The surgery relieved my symptoms. That was seven years ago and I'm still walking great4

Barbie - wonderful news for Jake. Thanks for letting us know.
Rosemarie - don't blame you for not wanting to go the consignment route. I know I'd need to feel 100% comfortable with the insurance. Hope a buyer shows up soon. Where are you advertising it? In my little county there are senior centers where I've seen people posting sale bills for similar things. Seems to me, people would be looking for such a vehicle.
Lisa - good job Corey on the canning and Happy Birthday to him! Home canned peaches are my favorite. Your brownies sounded yummy, icing and all.
Debbie - that would be great if you could cut your daycare days back. Hope it works out for you.
Carol - your soup sounds delicious. I've done that before, cleaning out the freezer - beef, chicken, veggies, broth - put it all in the pot and let it cook for a while. I'll bet the cornbread was perfect.
The results of my knee X-ray just popped up in my email: Per MyChart - Alignment appears normal. No fracture or dislocation seen. Tiny patellar spur formation. No effusion. Not sure what can be done for it. It seems to be feeling better today, was able to put weight on that knee to do some floor stretches, I had it on a thick cushion and it didn't hurt at all. Go figure.
I'm sure I'll be hearing from Dr. Lisa soon.
That's the latest. Have a wonderful evening!

Good evening ladies!
Today is day six of my sister challenge. I ate 1099 calories. Yay! And I did twenty minutes on my bike, and an hour of yoga, and thirty minutes of aerobic walking. Yay! My deficit is 487. Yay!
The ice cream craving did pass, it just took a diversion. Yoga worked. Yay! Plus I snuck a peek at the scale and it's going well. So that was encouraging. Two days until weigh-in.
Michele good luck with Vince's spinal stenosis.
Machka, did you get your elbow checked?
Take care my friends!

Annie, cravings are weird but they pass more quickly than one expects. I listen to food podcasts and often come home from my walk craving something I heard about while walking, but I wait a bit and it goes away. Just now reading about Carol's cornbread, I wanted to make a whole pan for myself and eat it all slathered in butter. Fortunately I don't keep ingredients in the house for things I don't normally eat. It would be trickier for you since you have food in your house that you don't eat but your parents do. Stay strong. We're all cheering for you.

Can you move to a campground where they pay you to manage the place?
When people here manage a campground, they get paid. And as part of the whole Grey Nomad thing, older couples might work in the fruit industry a bit, then settle down for a year or so managing a campground, then hit the road again to another campground or into the fruit industry again.
We considered doing that too at one point.

Hard to believe our surgeries were already over 6 months ago

Thanks for the reminder. No I haven't yet ... this month has been chaos.
Hopefully we're both all clear this time!

Rosemarie … we had a custom wheelchair van that we sold after our son died. My husband called the vendor where we had the modifications made to see if he knew of anyone looking for a van and he did give our information to several prospective buyers. In the end, the vendor gave our name to the father of a friend of my son’s! We had no idea they were in need of a new van. You might also consider places that serviced the van or put on tires or even organizations related to your husbands illness. There’s a network of people out there looking for fair deals. Calling and letting others know you have one for sale might find you a buyer.

I’ve cut back on how much I’ve eaten without depriving myself of foods I like. I just don’t eat them often or as much when I do eat them. When I had lost the 90# I wAs working out at the gym 1-2x/day. Truthfully, it was exhausting as I’d be at the gym each time for 1.5 hours. Right now I’m walking and making better choices I want to get to a weight that makes me feel good, is healthier and that I can maintain without going to the gym 3 hours a day. I’m feeling good about my weight loss because I’m setting small achievable goals. First off, get below 300#. This morning I was 301.2# so I’m close! My next goal is 275#. I’ll then decide what’s next. I’m not doing it for clothes size but with my son getting married 12/31/24, I have an exciting event to look forward to and want be happy with my body by then. I think it’s reasonable snd just need to stay strong and not give in to my stress and slide backwards. Thanks for asking Lanette.

Heather - I find it fascinating that I am in your dreams.
It sounds like your cruise is going wonderfully after the first night.
I love the tree painting. It reminds me of home.
Michele and Pip - maybe I have my terminology wrong. Kaitlyn and my Dad had slipped discs. They both had to have operations. Kaitlyn had hers 11 years ago next week. She has two prosthetic discs, she was case study number five in North America and the youngest to have it done. She has had incredible success with it.
Apparently slipped discs are hereditary.
Michele - when you register for ceramics do you have to pay a deposit?
Lisa - Years ago when Rodger worked nights I would sleep with the radio on. He always said, “what if someone comes in, you’ll just ignore it and think it’s the radio”. I told him that would probably keep me safest.
This past Winter when he was working nights, I dreamt that someone was in the house moving everything out while I was in the bedroom sound asleep. When I woke from that dream I was petrified and it took me a long time to settle myself.
My cousin’s skin cancer was diagnosed with a picture. I guess when they see it enough they recognize it right away.
Barbie - what a relief Jake’s results must have been for you both.
Machka - I think you should get that elbow checked out. It sure was an adventurous day.
Annie - I think you are brave to attempt anything without following the instructions.
I quite often try different things in crafting, household stuff, etc. but when I’m cooking I follow a recipe to the letter. I cook, because I have to not because I enjoy it at all.
I am a very fussy eater so a lot of times it’s much better if I don’t know what is in a meal.
Rebecca - I am the same as you. Even if I want to keep a mood to myself my face gives me away. Every. Single. Time.
I hope you enjoy many of your lovely meals on you Mama’s plates.
Allie - do you have any family that can be a living donor?
I have to giggle a bit, I wouldn’t lift a finger at home either, but I loved cleaning and such at my friends houses. I never and still don’t like cooking so Carmine is ahead of me.
I had a good day today. I went to ceramics with my youngest and her best friend this afternoon and then went to my regular slot this evening. I FINALLY learned how to dry brush a technique that I haven’t been good at. I’ll post a picture maybe tomorrow. I have a couple things to finish before I take the picture.
Tomorrow we are taking DH’s car in for another repair. I hope this is the end soon.
I still haven’t received the letter from my doctor. I received an email from work today asking for it. 😕. I hope to get it tomorrow. I just want a week where I can relax without worrying about any of this. I’m struggling with the stress of it all.

We've crossed the Solstice and the daylight hours are starting to increase! Yay! I don't like darkness.
I'm waiting till next week to have my elbow looked at. I had a long, long sleep last night and it feels very slightly better today. Not that I want anyone touching it or getting near it. And I'm not comfortable wearing long sleeves. And I can't bend it all the way or straighten it all the way. But I can move my fingers and twist my arm, so I'm guessing it might be just badly bruised.

Oh - and thanks for the bulldog with his sign. Made me grin. Maybe I wasn't completely deluded after all. Just... quirky. Yeah. Quirky.
Am up far too early because of appointments today. I don't have to be in town until 8 a.m., it's only 30 minutes away, even with traffic, and I got up at 4:30. Grrf. Ah well, small in the scheme of things. This too shall pass.
I started on the newest antibiotic regimen last Saturday, and my gut is acting a bit closer to normal, or at least I think so, anyway. It's been three and a half years since I was "normal," so it's possible I'm just guessing. I've also put a bit of weight back on, which hopefully means my body is actually using the calories I'm putting in instead of just passing them through without absorbing all the nutrients.
It is almost impossible not to panic for a moment when I see the scale go up instead of down, but it actually puts me back in the weight range I want to be. I start looking and feeling sick below 145, and I want my maintenance range to be between 145 and 150. I was at 143 a week ago, and 148 when I got up.
Later, all,
Love,
Lisa

Morning ladies
I must have missed Heather's painting..
Im so happy for Jake..
Tracey don't think either of my kids are interested in doing that. My team has sent me paperwork so I could put out stuff on Facebook ,Instagram etc...0 -
Barbie thanks. You are our wise leader!

Lee Ann, I learned early in my weight loss journey that the best food plan is the one you'll stick to and the best exercise plan is the one you'll stick to. It sounds like you are well on your way to finding those for yourself.
Rosemary, We sold our RV on consignment in 2009 with the help of a trusted business. We didn't think about insurance but we probably should have. It sounds like you're getting some good ideas of ways to find a buyer.
Tracey, This is a tough time for you. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and trust that all will be well. I found meditation and walking while listening to uplifting podcasts to be good stress reducers. Just keep trying until you find one that works.
Lanette, I guess it's good news that there's nothing wrong with your knee but frustrating that it will take time and patience.
Barbara, Glad to see you again

Hi, a couple quick pics while I am in range of data.
The first one is the Stave Church. Beautifully painted inside.
The second is the weirdest bridge called the Ski Jump. You can't see the other side at all!
The third is a poster of the Atlantic Road we were on, joining all the little islands.
The fourth is the boat I am on right now doing a round trip of the islands. It's free!
So, a nice first day ashore. Great weather.

Did 40 min on the stairstepper then went for the root canal. The doc said that I may experience some pain for a few days, and I’m experiencing some now. Not a whole lot. The nurse told me to take Tylenol for the pain then said “knowing you, you probably won’t need it”. Have the milk getting ready for yogurt
Anne – they’re not going to do anything with the spinal stenosis since it’s not hurting him. When I have a craving for ice cream, a pop usually works for me. I make them by taking 32oz container of plan greek yogurt, a 12 oz container of OJ concentrate, thaw it but don’t reconstitute it. Mix the two together. Freeze in a pop mold. I believe it comes out to something like 90 calories a pop, which is less than ice cream
LeeAnn – congrats on the wedding. Interesting day to have it. So that he can take the tax break, maybe?
Tracey – never heard of a prosthetic disk. We don’t have to pay a deposit for ceramics. Do you? They just like to have you register so that if there’s a change in the schedule (they have to cancel) they know who to inform. When I went to register today for next Tuesday at 8 in the morning there were 3 of the 12 spots available. I suspect it’s going to be crowded next Tuesday. Usually when I make a recipe for the first time I follow the recipe. Then I modify it to what I like.
Heather – neat pictures. We’re getting to live your cruise, thanks

Heather--Thanks for sharing the pictures. The bridges over the islands looks interesting.
Well interview this morning was a burst. She just something for insurance until the business her and husband has started takes off and they can afford insurance on their own. She told me she would more than likely not even be here a year. I said with all the training I could not hire her. So see what HR sends me next.

LanetteWhat kind of shoes do you wear. When I had PT for my knee. My therapist noticed my shoes were more than likely part of the problem. NO arch support.2
