Rebecca,

Rebecca, I don't think you said anything offensive. There were a couple of posts that were very unlike anything I've ever seen here, I felt they were inappropriate for the atmosphere that I've come to truly enjoy here.
Carla, I do hope you won't let a blip in our usually supportive group cause you to leave us. I, for one, appreciate your contributions to our group.
Lisa, I'm glad you didn't delete the other group yet, although I admit to very rarely going there as I keep forgetting about it! lol
Just wanted to pop in with my two cents worth!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating and welcome to the newbies!

Debbie - That Turkey was lucky to have found you. I couldn’t have touched it, I don’t like any type of birds up close.
Margaret - I love the daisies.
Lisa - I love the story of your Mom. I would be running the other way I’m sure. We did grow up in the country and I was taught to shoot, but don’t know that I ever actually could or if I would remember now.
Annie - I did mention that bike, my husband ordered one when Covid first hit. Now if he would only use it.
Lanette and Michele - I can delete parts of a post on my phone app, but it can be a pain.
Machka - I got caught up thinking about your list and forgot to respond last night.
Katla - I’m happy you have some of your personal things now. It makes it feel more like home.
Pip - I hope they can get to the root of Kirby’s bowel issues. I am shocked he’s not in pain with the bulging discs. My Dad and daughter both had that, they were both active but still had debilitating pain.
Carla - I’m sorry to see you go.
My meeting yesterday was enlightening, I am glad I went.
We had to exchange our phones yesterday due to the contract being up for renewal. I spent the morning getting the phones and the evening setting mine up. It was so much easier than it used to be.
Tomorrow I am going to spend most of the day at the ceramics shop. I’m looking forward to it.

OregonMother wrote: »Well. I am now on vacation until August 1. I have a new position beginning July 1st and it is an 11 month instead of 12. I am using up as much of my PTO from the other contract, and then taking July as my 12th month off on the new contract. A little confusing, especially since I still need to respond to email and I have a zoom meeting tomorrow, but it's what I can get. It will take me a few days to relax. Hubby and I are going to get pedicures tomorrow for our trip.

Slept well last night. Lots of vivid dreams, including Tracey again!
In watercolour we had to paint a perspective of trees, using one colour. Fun.
While I went to linedancing, John went to creative writing. I have washed my hair for the Formal tonight and we are soon off to waltz class. Then singing. The singing yesterday was excellent
Tomorrow is our first stop, in Kristiansund. We have a coach tour of the scenic Atlantic Road and a Stave Church. Afternoon for wandering in the town. Weather a bit miserable at the moment, but the sea is flat.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxx6 -

Did one portion of Tony Horton’s 10 Minute Trainer DVD then took my walk. I need to take an umbrella with me since it’s so cloudy out and it starts to rain, then stops. The plan for tomorrow is to use the stairstepper at the gym (haven’t done that in a while) then go for the root canal (funsville!)
Supposed to go to Replacements today then will probably go to Aldi
LeeAnn- I may have missed it, where are you going on vacation and for how long? Like Heather you’d BETTER share your trip. We want to take it with you vicariously! Have fun, and that’s an order!
M- posting the whole post really isn’t a big deal. It would be more convenient if someone didn’t have to do it, but it’s no big deal if someone has to.
Pip – I bet you’re right, Kirby probably really is in pain but he just doesn’t feel it. I wish they found out the bowel problem. Did he always have the bulging disks?
Rita – I really don’t mind the heat as long as there isn’t humidity. Take care. Now the cold, that REALLY bothers me. If I had my way totally, I’d spend 6 months in NC and 6 months in Arizona. But I know that won’t happen. Hopefully, you have access to a pool
There are some beautiful red birds outside my window. I know they like when I string the popcorn and there is some on the deck. Unfortunately, since it’s been raining the last few days I haven’t been able to do any stringing. They're just so pretty to watch
Joy – isn’t there some way you can make the beans in the IP? I bet that would be faster
They asked me not to work at BK tomorrow to keep their “labor down”. Oh well….it’s not like I need to work to pay the bills. The thing is...I doubt this “labor” thing will ever stop
Aging: My left elbow gives me a “twinge” just to let me know it’s there. I’m sure it’s just getting older. Also, one of the joints in my one finger is “twinging”. I remember when it first got big the MD looked at it and said “that’s arthritis”. Oh joy!
Pamela – welcome! Food prep, like you, helps me. Having things like carrots and celery out where I can just “grab and go” are fantastic. Many times I put them next to Vince’s cake/cookies, etc and that is a good reminder to take a healthy snack.
Barbie – what do you eat for breakfast? When I’ve eaten at my computer I’ve found that crumbs, no matter how careful I am, find their way into the keyboard. But do you maybe have just something to drink (like a protein drink?).
Carla will be missed
Tracey – Vince has 2 bulging disks and he doesn’t have any pain from them. Guess it just has to do with the nature of the bulge. Lately it has just been so so crowded at ceramics. I totally understand that they don’t want to turn anyone away, but last night there were 15 people there and supposedly only 12 can sign up. Oh well…… I did register us for next Monday
Well...off to have breakfast then to Replacements.

Well said, and I second the emotion.
Tracey - Hope you have a lovely, fun day at ceramics. Other stories we tell ourselves:Lisa - I love the story of your Mom. I would be running the other way I’m sure. We did grow up in the country and I was taught to shoot, but don’t know that I ever actually could or if I would remember now.
Like the baseball bat, I do have weird stories I tell myself for reassurance, or I used to, anyway. Like the one that even bad people need to sleep sometimes, so going to the 24-hour grocery store in the dark at 3:30 a.m. was OK, because all the muggers and rapists went to bed by 3 a.m. I was a terrible insomniac through most of my life, so would go shopping at odd hours. I'm not saying it made sense, it just made me less scared. During the years when I weighed around 300 pounds, I told myself that no self-respecting rapist would try to rape a morbidly obese woman, so being heavy kept me safe. A psychiatrist would have had a field day with me.
Ginny - Yes, Egg is pretty spoiled... and if there is a way to do it, I would like to come back as a cat. Egg's life is pretty good.
Flea - Enjoy your long vacation...
Heather - Love the bulletins from the cruise, hope it's all you want it to be!
Allie - Hope the assessment from the transplant office is good news.
What's cooking in the country...Corey brought home a big bag of peaches and we had a package of strawberries from last Friday that we weren't going to eat before they could go off, so I loaded up the dehydrator and got it going. I've got it in the exercise room, as it's drying at 140 degrees, and I didn't want it to heat the kitchen all night. He really loved the dried red apricots, which were turned out far too tart for me... Learned that "clingfree" peaches actually means that the peach doesn't cling to the pits. These were NOT clingfree, and we had to evict the pits with extreme prejudice. Who knew?
During his four days off, he canned ten jars of pickles, and bottled 30 bottles of beer. His cucumbers are producing like mad. His peppers and tomatoes are going to bear a bumper crop, it looks like, so this coming weekend or next, he will be making salsa. He's still eating the salsa he canned two years ago, so they last a long time... We got him a big burner he could set up outside to do the sweaty stuff like brewing beer and canning, and he was smiling just ear-to-ear every time he came inside. Love seeing him so happy--he deserves this, and I'm so glad we got to a place where he can do what he loves.
EKG tomorrow morning at the VA clinic, and a telehealth appointment to take pics for a baseline dermatology assessment right after the EKG. Should be interesting, hopefully nothing found by the dermatologist. Not sure what they can assess with an image. The EKG was requested by the gastroenterologist, and am genuinely not sure why they need one. Seeing the cardiologist early next month.
Today's chore is laundry... time to get that going. Hope it's a lovely peaceful day for all...

Michele, I have had a chocolate Isagenix shake that I eat with a spoon every morning since 2009. My computer is on the dining room table so I have lots of space.
Jake goes to the doctor today to discuss what they found in his colonoscopy last week. He is nervous. I am going with him.

It's been quite a day! Bit of an adventure.
We rented hybrid bicycles ... first time we've rented bicycles. Not sure we would do that again.
Then we drove to a place to start riding about an hour away. I was adjusting the seat and when I went to dismount, I changed my mind halfway through the dismount and fell backward.
First thing that landed was my left elbow. Then my left hip. And then the bicycle landed on me.
Once I was untangled and up again, I felt all right to ride and off we went.
But we were on hybrids ... with wide tyres. So we certainly weren't zipping along even though the route was relatively flat.
I was loving the route ... relatively flat, beautiful scenery, a place we hadn't ridden in a long time. The weather was cold (it's winter) but not much wind and lots of sun.
However, my husband was really struggling with his hybrid and having a tough time of it.
We finished the ride, but outside the time limit. And when we finished, the temperature had dropped down to near 0C and my feet were blocks of ice.
I made the mistake of trying to look at my left elbow and set off a pain so bad, I had to sit down and breathe for a few moments before tossing back some painkillers.
Something to eat, drive back in the dark, and a shower. I needed help getting ready for the shower ... hard to move that left arm! Discovered a couple other bruises as well.
Then I had to lie down and breathe again ... nausea from the pain.
So ... adventure, trying new things, beautiful scenery.
But I may need to get that left elbow checked.

We didn’t know he had arthritis at all, if the doc wouldn’t have told him we wouldn’t have known any different. Won’t know what he will recommend for anything that is wrong with him until after they do more tests on him. What will those tests be ? I dunno. What would they do for someone who has arthritis but doesn’t feel any pain, or for someone that didn’t even know he had it, lololol. We will c
They'll probably do the same thing for someone (like me) who feels pain with arthritis (like me) ... absolutely nothing!
I have strong anti-inflammatory pills I can take when the arthritis in my feet gets especially painful, but that's it. I don't like taking them very often.
My physiotherapists tell me to keep moving.
M in Oz
We don’t expect the doc to do anything about the arthritis, one, there is no pain, two, he didn’t know he had it, if and when he does start to feel pain, we’ll deal with that when it comes. Right now our only concern/issue is lack of control of holding his bowel control and why it’s happening and is there anything that can be done about it8 -

Pip - so with the MRI they were hoping to spot an obvious problem that was fixable?
Rosemarie - thinking of you and your questions about selling the disability van on consignment. Have you checked with your insurance company to see if it's covered while sitting on their lot against theft and damage, while someone test drives it, etc.? The consignment lot's contract might spell out what they cover too. When I was looking to sell DH's pickup, my attorney suggested using a certain consignment lot in town that was trustworthy. I never had to go that route but was a good backup plan.
Carla - miss you. Hope the restraining order for your daughter turned out OK.
Machka - ouch! Maybe it's a good idea to see a doc about that elbow if it doesn't get better in a couple days. Sounds like quite a tumble - hoping you feel better quickly!
Barbie - sending good thoughts to Jake at his doctor appointment today. Glad you are going with him.
Katla - I miss seeing the corn grow. Has your area had a lot of rain? My sis and brother in northern Indiana are saying drought conditions - hope the farmers get a break. Canadian smoke at my sister's house close to the Michigan border. KJ - is there smoke at your house too?
Chilly and foggy here so far this morning. Waiting to hear back if my neighbor wants to walk at 8.
Make it a fabulous day!

Good morning ladies!
Pip I hurt my back when I was pregnant, but somehow after that the Dr said it was arthritis. After a few years, it went away. I think it got better with yoga and exercise. So for the last ten or twenty years it's been fine. Then the sciatica popped up and the X-ray showed a misalignment in my spine. But the sciatica went away after a week of rest, and then exercise.
So my conclusion is that the misalignment is probably from the pregnancy but it is not a problem as long as I exercise my abs and back. I had the feeling the second Dr was thinking surgery, but I didn't go back because it didn't hurt.
Spines are mysterious things. Be cautious about believing the doctor. Ask about chances of success of they talk surgery. I hope Kirby's control improves, and the pain stays away.
Heather those trees are lovely, and the perspective shows how much you have learned about painting. The shadows are beautiful, with a hint of fog, or incipient snow. Well done!
It's a gloomy day here. But I cooked meatloaf yesterday, so the navy bean soup can wait. I don't have an instant pot. The bag has a quick soak method, in hot water, so I will try to adapt that. Hmm. Maybe adapting is where my projects go wrong lol! Maybe I should just follow the instructions! Thanks for your input, my friends.
Hope you all have a wonderful day,
Annie in Delaware

1. Decide to look for what’s good every day this month. Started with friendly people.
2. Say positive things in your conversations with others. I will try, but people annoy me.
3. Re-frame a worry and try to find a helpful way to think about it. This will be about my son. Not sure how to re-frame it but will find a way today. I must realize he is a full grown man and in charge of his own life.
4. Take a photo of something that brings you joy and share it.
5. Think of 3 things you’re grateful for and write them down. 1. My family, 2. A roof over my head, 3. Enough food to eat.
6. Get out into green space and feel the joy that nature brings. every day!
7. Do something healthy that makes you feel good. 2 walks so far. And therapist today.
8. Find joy in music: sing, play, dance, listen or share. To be accomplished.
9. Ask a friend what made them happy recently. Did this on my trip to Lubbock to get my car back finally. Was a great day!
10. Bring joy to others by doing something kind for them. Will report on this later! Gave a family some Little Debbie cookies.
11. Eat good food that makes you happy and really savor it. Will do! Yesterday had a salad made from lettuce, onion, peppers, and tomato from my garden. The dressing was homemade too! Mmmmmm
12. Write a gratitude letter to thank someone. To be done! Sent my GS a thank you note for being my grandchild!
13. Take a light-hearted approach. Choose to see the funny side. Already happening after a very stressful day yesterday.
14. Share a happy memory with someone who means a lot to you. Will do.
15. Look for something to be thankful for where you least expect it. This will be fun to find things. How about turtle eggs on the beach that have to be moved to not be crushed.
16. Speak to others in a warm and friendly manner. I will try.
17. Take time to notice things that you find beautiful. Will do! Watched people enjoying the lake on a beautiful Saturday!
18. Look for something good in a difficult situation. My son is getting help from a social worker who is including me.
20. Rediscover and enjoy a fun childhood activity. Going to color! Didn’t do this. I must make time to do this.
21. Send a positive note to a friend who needs encouragement.22. Watch something funny and enjoy how it feels to laugh.
23. Create a playlist of uplifting songs to listen to.
24. Bring to mind a favorite memory you feel grateful for.
25. Show your appreciation to people who are helping others
26. Make time to do something playful just for the fun of it.
27. Be kind to you. Do something that brings you joy.
28. Notice how positive emotions are contagious among people.
29. Share a friendly smile with people you see today.
30. Make a list of the joys in your life and keep adding to it.

I couldn't get enough of that tiny little one. I was snuggling it all the time, even had it in the little beanie hat stuffed in the front of my tank top. It loved it, went right to sleep- liked being warm. I would pet it's little head and his eyes would close right away.
Would have been fun to keep it but not right for it.(plus the getting up every two hours to turn the heating pad back on or move the time up again before it turned off was hard enough for one night, didn't want to do it for a few weeks, but would have if we didn't find the rescue)4 -

You don't get muddy waters with me, if I am sad you will see it, and if I am happy I show it, and if I am lonely I chat and drone on like nobody's business!🙃😁

Thanks for sharing your stories- love the ones about Corey and his cooking/canning. That is amazing. Something he can do that makes him so happy and so yummy later!!
