Heather - I don’t live near agriculture land. I grew up in forest country in NB when they first started spraying in the 80’s. I remember my Grandfather saying that they were making a terrible mistake. The area I’m from at one time had the highest incidence of cancer per capita in Canada. It is currently Newfoundland and Labrador followed by New Brunswick. One company keeps getting permission to spray and it’s killing everything.
I am very angry about it, there is now a mysterious neurological illness that has affected residents and they have a high glysophate level in their blood. There was even an article in your Guardian about it a few months ago.
One of my best friends is Dyslexic, she is smart though. It hasn’t slowed her down, but I remember her telling me of her struggles in the younger grades.
Men and their things - I am so fortunate that my DH likes collecting things but will kindly keep most of it in his shop and he does organize and discard every spring usually.
Annie - Hugs. It’s hard for you worry about Teddy and your Dad at the same time.
Allie - can you choose after you have set sail to get a scooter if you find you’re needing one? Maybe over the next couple of weeks you could walk around your block or in your hallways to build yourself up.
Kylia - we have eaten more at home since we got out air fryer last year. There are still nights we get carry out but that will be ending very soon.
Rita - I like your comments today about sink cost fallacy.
Vicki - you must treat your DIL very well. It reminds me of how my MIL treats me. I’m so happy for her that she has you.
I hope your son grows up soon.
My MIL had one of those 4am crying calls from me way back in the day. I’ll never forget her coming into the house telling me to make her a coffee and telling DH to sit down and shut up.
She sat with us for about 4 hours and taught us so much.
I hope your DIL is welcomed by you. I never would tell my parents what was going on. My Dad wasn’t DH’s biggest fan and I didn’t want to make him look bad to Dad.
Sue - I hope they settle your BP meds soon.
I had an interesting first day of class. A few technical issues, which was to be expected on the first day. This week I am learning how to be a successful student. The textbook is “Becoming a Master Student”. I wish I would have had this book in junior high. It helps you understand your own learning style and the different skills for all the essential steps of learning.
I had to read 3 chapters tonight and do an assignment for tomorrow.
It took about an hour per chapter to read and complete the assignment.
I had a nap between the first and second chapters and supper between the second and last one.
I find myself very sore this evening because I didn’t move as much today as I have been.
I’ll have to get into a routine.
Thank you for being a huge support for me. I am so blessed to have all of you in my pocket cheering me on.

Vicki Been there, done that with Youngest daughter and son in law. They married young, baby 9 months later. Home out to sea for two years....neither was innocent. Thanksgiving at my house with almost3 yo granddaughter and those two were going off atceach other. I took them to my room and told them that they both had wronged each other, but as I saw it they had only two choices. They make it work or they call it quits! Like you, I told them my only concern was my granddaughter as they were both adults! There were more than a few "f" bombs out of my mouth during that exchange. I finished the conversation with "My house, my holiday, my granddaughter....be respectful and social able or get out!" I wasn't taking vsides as they were both wrong, but I drew my line in the sand. They have now been married 21 years. My advice....don't chose sides, make boundaries, and be there for grands. Not sure how old your adults are, my YD married at 18, first baby at 19, he left for sea duty in CA when she was 20. One of his best decisions was getting transfered to a land lock station when she was 22.
Hugs as you navigate the rough waters! The grass isn't always greener (though sometimes it is.
DH made a suggestion for his lunches this week. He calls it sloppy Bambi! Homemade sloppy Joe's with venison in tortilla wraps. That I can do. Will make in the morning.
If, I said if, our Bronco gets here this week we will be heading to pigeon forge for the Bronco invasion in two weeks. It will be a short trip down after work Friday, home Sunday. Then two weeks later back down for vacation. We will see if the cards fall into place.
Lannette did you get my stats? I messaged you.
Bedtime...

I did break down and rented a scooter for the cruise.. I would rather have it there and not need it,than not have one there and miss out because im not in good enough shape to walk from I one part of the ship to the other ..
If im getting wheelchair assistance at the airports O might as well get help on a big cruise ship..
Little boy was having some corn ,while mommy was making a silly face.. he has been cranky the last few days..2 -

Biggest challenge right now is not "permitting or accepting" my DH'S blame for things that aren't mine. Did that make sense? Example.....at car show yesterday, I dozed off in the heat under our umbrella. He was chatting on his phone. A breeze lifted our umbrella and it blew away and hit the car next to ours. No damage done, but scary! For some reason he thinks I should have been paying attention. SMH. I was asleep. Oh well. It happens daily, so I just need to not accept his thoughts on these things.
❤️
Kylia in Ohio thankful for rain but hating migraine
I'd just say, "That's not my fault! You were awake. You should have been paying attention."
My DH does the same things! He’d be driving and miss a turn or decide to pass someone right before a turnoff then miss it and blame me! I just say, I’m not driving. LOL I think many men are like this, nothing is there fault. They blame everything on everyone else but themselves. We who get blamed must not let it get to us. I used to, now I just calmly say “I did not use that”, or “I’m not driving” or I didn’t cook today, or any other appropriate statement. Just don’t say “it’s not my fault” or get defensive that just seems to feed them.

I've always tended to "poke the bear".
I figure if someone blames me, and it isn't my fault ... they've just started something!!

Tracey - I'm so pleased that they're doing a refresher on how to be a master student, it should go a long way to getting you relaxed and back in learning mode. Like Kylia, I'm excited for you! How is Rodger doing with all this?
Allie - Glad it isn't lupus, that's one relief, anyway! Enjoy your time with Homer.
Sue - Glad things are looking good, hope the echo is clear. I have to do one next month to check for clots and talk to the cardiologist in early October about correcting the a-fib. Hope the sarcoidosis subsides.New here. Very new! Just jumping in...Re-starting the weight loss journey. Currently hanging out in PNW. Retired to the RV life.
LizzyinWA (that signature is probably going to need adjusting as we are not always in WA anymore)
Welcome, Lizzy! We've definitely got a lot of PNW folks here, it's a popular place, plus RVRita, who enjoys the RV life, and I think she's chimed in already as well... Drop back in anytime!
Woke to the sound of distant thunder, not nearly as violent as yesterday's wake-up, and a nice soaking rain continues. Everything was already greening up from yesterday morning's rain, and this will make things lush and green again. A protected window is open in the living room, so the house is filled with the scent of fresh, clean rain.
Filled my car with donation items yesterday, and that sunk cost fallacy came in handy dozens of times! If we haven't used it in a year, it probably is in the car. Plus the weird things, like all the styrofoam shipping boxes the VA used to send the injections I was taking last year. Couldn't resist keeping them, but they're utterly useless things, in the end, unless you're shipping items that need ice packs to stay cool. So... off they go.
Want to work on getting more sorted and in the donations until the expected break in the storm around ten a.m., then run it all into town. So pleased with my energy levels, and am hitting the 10,000-step mark regularly:
It's not all beer and skittles - the gas production yesterday was just a barrage, every five to ten minutes all dang day. I can still feel it in my mid-section, the muscles just got worked over. Still not sure what sparked it, but this morning it all seems better, and I appreciate it.
Hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday.
Later,
Love y'all!

Tracey I did an online masters in Computer Science. At the time, the students were not on camera, just audio. So I used to paint my nails, then get on my stepper while I listened to class. I think I listened better while moving; I didn't zone out as much.
Well we didn't lose power last night, but it rained for hours with thunder and lightning. Teddy had to go out at midnight in the rain, and now he won't go out this morning. Silly dog.
I will buy groceries later this morning, but I think that's the only thing on my list.
Have a great day!

I'm attending a work-related conference this week.
While I'm honoured to be one of the few who are attending this conference (there's maybe about 10 of us), today was a long day and it looks like the rest of the week will be full-on as well.
Today was 30-ish people in a relatively small, warm room, attending a Costing Workshop from 9 am to 5:30 pm without leaving the room. It was interesting up till about 3 pm ... and then I think everyone's brains started to go to sleep.
Tomorrow will be in a different building and we'll move from room to room for different sessions on different things, so I hope that will be better.

My son had to go to London for work today. Then he's going to spend the evening in the house, sorting and checking the works, before he comes to us to sleep.
He will feed himself, probably up in London.
I thought he must be fed up with gluten free pitta for breakfast, although I did tell him there were cooked potatoes and lots of eggs in the fridge. Soooo, I made him a GF soda bread!!!
Looks and smells delicious 😋
I adore soda bread, but I am low carb at the moment. So won't be tempted.
I've got Tandoori Chicken marinating for DH and my dinner. Yum.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Barbie--My cherry tomatoes are not doing well this year. So far the plant looks like it dead.
Allie-- We are planning the trip for next July, if by chance we get them back and have time in October we may just go up over the border. But doesn't matter if we have to wait. Just glad to have it done.
Tracey--Sounds like your first day of class went well. I do find it harder going back when I was older. But you can do this and the kids will be so Blessed.
Allie--I agree it was a good idea to rent the scooter and not need it, than to risk missing out because you needed it and didn't have it.
Thanks for letting me vent about DYS.
Today working with the new girl and so far it is going well. I go to an all afternoon management meeting at noon and then my CT scan at 4. DH wants to go test out a pickup when I get off.
