Allie ~ The new wife looks a lot younger than your ex. And, must ad, so do you! LOL
Rebecca ~ Love your mom's cow story and love the photo of your sister on the tractor.

That's me on the tractor last year. She told me to get in and drive it! It was outside my comfort zone, but I did it.😂

He got back in time for a late dinner which I had saved for him.

Heather - I really love how you are excelling at the painting. You do beautiful work.
I have heard so many so that youth is wasted on the young. I’m starting to understand that more these days.
Ginny - More and more are suffering here as well. It’s a real mess, because of the high prices I think it’s harder for people that normally donate to do as much as they did as well.
I follow a fellow on FB called Officer Gomez. He is a school resource officer that really stays up with the technology, specifically apps and such that kids use and the dangers of them.
His post yesterday was about how a few years ago he was a guest speaker for a dentist group, they wanted to pay him for attending and he declined. They asked him what they could do instead and he told them that kids needed shoes. The dentist opened a gift card at the local Nike store for $500 and there have been a lot of donations given to it over the years and children have been able to get the first new pair of shoes they ever owned. His post was asking for donations as the gift card funds are low and they haven’t been getting the donations they used to get. He did say Nike contributes by offering low prices for the shoes.
Allie - it is dark and rainy here this morning too. We had hail and very strong winds last night. I’m not surprised after our hot day. It shook our trailer some though and I didn’t like that.
I’m sorry Carmine is still being miserable with you.
Betsy - It’s good you are able to be with your sister.
I am trying to make my life simpler and happier. It seems to be taking a lot to do it, but I’m “mostly” enjoying the journey.
Karen - nice to “hear” your voice. I sent an email this morning asking her to send her questions via email. I pointed out that this has caused a lot of stress this week for me. She’ll have to wait until she’s told what to say I’m sure.
Lisa - the temps here are supposed to be lower next week I think. Today it is 11, 20 degrees cooler than yesterday.
Supposed to be low 20’s tomorrow.
I need to do some domestic stuff too, but I’m going to go to the ceramics shop instead. I told her I would help do some stuff today.
Joy - it didn’t rain here until the hail came. It was quite loud for a few minutes.
Glad you didn’t get any to ruin your crop.
The weather this year is from one extreme to the other. We had our heat on yesterday too.
Barbie - I bet the dog that needs you most will be what you get. That’s how it should be.
Sue - glad your horses are safe. The first time I met a moose on the road my brain registered horse at first. We used to have a neighbour that had escaping horses.
Rebecca - Your sister doing all that stuff probably keeps her healthier. My grandmother did all sorts of heavy stuff until well into her late 80’s. She lived until 95, but didn’t enjoy her last 3 years of life because she couldn’t do much.
Beth - Glad your siding is coming along. I love your pig coop and treats! What a good idea.
So happy your sons migraines have improved and insurance is covering the prescription. What a relief for him.
Allie - yes your body can react significantly. I was having that issue before work finally left me alone. My doctor told me it was stress.
I passed this past weeks session with 100%, got 100% on my presentation as well.
The next two weeks are the same course. Learning how to teach math and English to exceptional children.
I emailed work and told them I would prefer to converse via email. No response but they did try to call at 11. I honestly missed it as I was driving.
Today I have done some crafting for myself and DH. I also made mugs and coasters for my cousin who is renting us their camper. This will be a thank you gift.
I bought another metal cup to make for myself, now I’m just trying to figure out what to put on it.
I also put a phone on Marketplace. So many people offered 50 when I was asking for 250. A guy is supposed to come at 7 pm to pick it up for full price.
I have two more in line if he no shows.
I try not to sell on there because people just try to knock your down and it’s time consuming.
Coloured my hair this morning and went and bought some things for our trip this week.
Now I’m being lazy.

Allie: I wasn't part of this group when your Ex became your Ex. I understand only you know where you were at with your relationship with your ex. And I understand with all the blended families today you want to stay on good terms with your ex. But still and I know this is mean spirited..I hope you are freer and better off without him. I hope you continue to grow and have terrific relationships, maybe even with another guy. I hope you take cruises and travel and laugh and have joy! All relationships change and some people go their different ways and some journey together a great ways. I hope they aren't in your face and space all the time. I hope you are proud of the years you gave him and I hope you are free and move forward into your own interests and friendships.

Rosemarie- I was married 20 yrs to him the last 4 he was having an affair with Elena,I only got wind of it in year 19.
I forgave but don't forget..
Homer was our dog,so its only right that mom takes care of him.. and because he is nearly blind taking him to my house wouldn't work.
He knows his way around here..so here I am,at my old house with my old dog.. They will be home Monday sometime.
And then Thursday night I drop Alfie off for a week or so..

Lanette, guess we’ve dated ourselves with “Diet for a Small Planet”. Somewhat relieved the amino acids might not have to be balanced at the same meal. I used to make her chocolate chip cookie recipe until my then boyfriend explained to me that while they were filling and sustaining, they were like eating rocks… and he was studying to be a field geologist. Looking forward to seeing whatever DIY chickie tractor you construct. “Direct care” ?
Allie, love the hair, glasses but most of all the smile!
Rebecca that “Kindly remove…” sign was a real tea-snorter
Barbie “…our job is to wait” True for us about new-to-us vehicles. Joe has decided he wants to offload the vans for an economical runabout and found one in town. Alas it sold yesterday.
Lisa, did you try both A/C’s to decide which one to keep? Like you we have no intention of ever holding another garage sale. [shudder]
Tracey yours to Vicki about stress, pain and taking care of you. Your voice rings of experience. Tell Rodger “Good Job!” from me We were married in 1987 too, but were much older than you both (37). Like Karen in VA and Lisa said, keeping all communication with your former employer in writing is the safest way.
Welcome home Betsy! Overheating computer? Yikes!
Ginny what a gift of listening you gave those folks. Heartrending.
Joy happy for you and Lucy. Few if any of the groomers in our small (7K) town are taking new clients and the one that is . . .
Debbie hope you enjoy your Sunday time to yourself Beautiful wetlands pics. Mosquitoes (and poison oak) whatever was the Creator thinking? :noway:
Sue that Ruby is just too darned clever!
Annie feel for you.. Visited a gal in a nursing home who didn’t understand why her doctor was wearing a mask, laughing “Didn’t he know the pandemic is over?” . Pandemic, maybe but COVID-19 no. And she’s in a facility with a lot of fragile people SMH.
Michele (hugs) Just so sad for you not being able to see PJ. Praying you’re mistaken about Pete, but it sure could be . . .
Machka Always love seeing your wedding pic. Like you I’ve been diagnosed with venous insufficiency after blood clots in my left leg. Wonder if I have the same mutation? Was the genetic test expensive?
Heather relieved to hear the revised meet-up plans, and your self care decision to stay only one night and forego the excursion. Well done.
Rita your horses and dogs stories. What a great heart you have!
Beth What wondrous news about your son’s migraines! “…pig snouts…”
Carol, yours to Allie and I thought the same.

Worked then cut the grass. In the pool for a little and then church. Took a walk around the neighborhood after dinner. I find that that helps settle my stomach (somewhat)
Debbie – you’re singing my song about the people trying to get away with things. Yes, fortunately the majority are so thankful and grateful, they don’t push the rules.
Allie – I didn’t realize that Tom had already retired. So he didn’t try to push for lower alimony??? That’s a great playpen
Took my walk around the neighborhood. I DO NOT like this getting dark early stuff.
Beth – that’s great about your sons’ migraines. What cool “pig snouts”

Lanette I bought a cross shredder at Office Max. The 10 page version because it was the same size as my old one and I liked the size. Recommended to put lubricate right in to slot and leave for 20 minutes before starting to shred. No thick cardboard or too thin of paper. No window inserts or DVD in this one. I am putting about 6 paper at a time so be on the safe side. So far so good. Pile is shrinking. It will be good for continual shredding. I am also putting some lubricate on a piece of paper when I fill the bin. It will automatically shut off before it gets too full. I guess in the past shredders would clog if the shredded paper got too close to the bins. I do shake it a bit to by a little more time before I empty it.3

Quite a set up for our sweet Miles, Allie! And here, I used to shove all 3 kids into one bedroom. So a baby, a 4 yr old and an 9 yr old. We had a bunk bed for the 4 and 9, and the crib turned into a toddler bed. We were like that until the eldest got into high school.

Tracey - I love to hear you sounding more optimistic and with more energy. Why is it that we don't recognise what is going on with us until we are out of it? I've been the same in the past. Now I usually catch it earlier. It only took me nearly 74 years!
I really hope your daughter is able to achieve her happiness before too long. Sending love.
Quiet day today. I'm hoping to do a veggie curry tonight. Have cauliflower, chickpeas and sweet potato. Didn’t eat the broccoli yesterday as meals were a bit sideways. Hope it holds out for tomorrow. Might change and use it today for frittata. I bought huge free range eggs yesterday. Your chicks would have bust, Lanette.

I like exercising to the point where I'm huffing and puffing. Stair climbing is particularly good for that.
Stored Energy
Fat cells are used primarily for energy to work the muscles and move the body. In addition, energy stored as fat also helps insulate the body and protect its vital organs.
When you consume more calories than your body needs, however, the excess energy remains stored. The stored energy (triglycerides) is collected as fat (lipid) within the individual fat cells, which slowly accumulate over time and result in weight gain.
...
How Does Fat Leave the Body?
The lungs are the primary organ used to remove fat from your body.1 During the energy conversion process, fat leaves the body either as carbon dioxide when you exhale, or as water in the form of urine or sweat.
Body fat does not turn into muscle or exit the body through the colon.
...
Tips to Promote Fat Loss
When combined with a healthy, balanced diet filled with nutrient-dense foods, physical activity is probably the best thing you can do to get your heart rate up and increase your oxygen intake, which can help promote fat loss. Keep in mind that you'll still need to burn more calories than you're consuming to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight.
Exercise increases your metabolism or the rate your body uses energy. Meerman suggests that you can use up more stored fat by performing physical activities that double your metabolic rate—for example, swapping out one hour of rest with exercises like brisk walking or light jogging.

Beth-outstanding news about son's migraines. Hope the rising keeps up!
Michelle-I hope your concerns about Denise are off base, but they do seem to be standoffish.
Lisa-your sleep sounds much improved! Hope it continues.

Rebecca-we are like family with some of our folks-they have come to us for several years. We don't have a separate area for prayer with the customers, but I did pass on the general needs of them them to the group through our email chain afterwards and the church pastor passed it on as a special message to the prayer chain. You never know the pain others may be experiencing or the reason they are presenting to you.

Great day with SS and family yesterday. Boys played well in their game and their team won. It was their first time playing contact football but they seem to be catching on (3rd grade). Hectic time getting things ready for baptism at pond for SS and boys but it was a very nice event. Got home late. Tired but happy.
Heating up here today for hot week. Going to stop in to church this am. Basically getting ready before I go for my walk. It's cool enough right now that I won't be too sweaty after! After that a couple of reports for work that I have been avoiding for way too long and one I recently discovered I over looked and is late going to state office-but they can get over it.
Take care all,

Machka Always love seeing your wedding pic. Like you I’ve been diagnosed with venous insufficiency after blood clots in my left leg. Wonder if I have the same mutation? Was the genetic test expensive?
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie
My genetic mutation is MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase), and I'm homozygous for MTHRF meaning that both my parents have genetic mutations.
Gene mutations are inherited, which means you acquire them from your parents. At conception, you receive one copy of the MTHFR gene from each parent. If both have mutations, your risk of having a homozygous mutation is higher.
https://www.healthline.com/health/mthfr-gene#variants
My mutation is C677T.
The MTHFR C677T mutation can lead to high levels of homocysteine in the blood and low levels of folate and other vitamins. At it happens, when I was diagnosed, I had quite a high homocysteine level - I was "high risk".
I need to take Vit B12, Vit B6 and Megafol 5 (folic acid 5mg) because MTHFR can lead to a deficiency in them. Magnesium is also recommended, so I take that.
Nexium is a big ol' no-no for me because Nexium blocks absorption of vitamin B12 and other nutrients (including Magnesium).
The test cost me $0.00.
I'm not sure if that's because it doesn't cost anything in Australia or if it is because my travel insurance covered it.
The test method is described as a Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction enzyme analysis.

Happy Sunday, my peeps...
Ginny - I find it amazing how much sleep matters to my every day outlook. I know that sounds like I'm an ignoramus, but I honestly slept, on average, four hours a night throughout my entire working life. I was always the first one in to work, because I was up at 3 a.m., so it was easy for me. Now I genuinely need that seven or eight hours sleep to feel reasonably decent. I am always impressed by those of you who volunteer your time, like you and Michele and Debbie. It's a good thing you're doing.
Michele - I'm so sorry that Denise has bailed on you once more. Wish I had some words that could heal that hurt... I genuinely hope you're wrong that there's abuse involved at any level. It appears there is no expiration date on worrying about our kids, though.
Heather - Sounds like you've had a couple quiet days without your houseful of family! Your stepdaughter's smile echoes Johnnie's; it's a lovely photo.
Allie - I'm sorry you woke up in pain, dear heart. Hope the rheumatologist has some answers. Hope too, that the pain fades while you're enjoying your cruise, too! It's just around the corner...
Yesterday started out rough and pretty well stayed that way. Woke up in pain, stayed that way all day. Woke up feeling SO much better today. This may be because I crashed for a two-hour nap yesterday, and slept six straight hours last night. Feeling quite a bit better--like my body was trying to get rid of something yesterday, and today it's better. Grateful for the lack of pain. It takes over everything, in the end, makes it hard to think or operate at any level.
In just a few hours yesterday, with a few cups of Kilz (paint that will cover anything) and a paintbrush, Corey spiffed up our bathroom, made our kitchen cabinets look clean and pretty again, and took two of what I considered to be major tasks off my list completely. Because he's willing to do it well now, and worry about perfect later, if at all.
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." I thought I believed that. I really NEED to learn to believe that doing it well now is better than going into my usual analysis paralysis and not doing it at all.
I'm trying to learn, I swear.
