Carol - It's absolutely not whining when they say they've delivered something and you still haven't received it. The fact that you left the bad review might be why you got your delivery, in the end, because you didn't just accept that it was missing.
Tracey - I remember your post with Shawn's fireman-themed stocking. All of them are lovely, and you're a peach for making them. I was cranky yesterday because I just had to do 10 minutes of hand sewing at the top of each bell-bottom insert to ensure they don't unravel. How much time does each stocking take?
Allie - Hope you're feeling better today. Your phone company might be able to help you out with some of your un-transferred phone numbers. Mine did when some didn't move over to the new phone. They charged me for the retrieval, but not losing them was worth it.
Ginny - Glad you're having fun with the grands. I always stress out over cleaning before having visitors, but once they're here, I relax. Haven't got any complaints yet...
Rosemarie - I think there are two things to remember about the young lady at the shelter: First is what Ginny said, there's a fair chance she hasn't been socialized to acknowledge others. Second is that she's probably deeply in her head and not thinking about you at all. Try not to take it personally. For yourself, don't forget that women in the South, in particular, have been conditioned from birth that everyone has to like us, if not love us. If she does dislike you, it is her problem, and ignoring her behavior is the best thing you could do to annoy her. Win-win!
More in a second,
Love,

Good morning from Arkansas, where the temperature has risen another six degrees since I woke, from 41 to 47 already! (5 to 8C)
Got about a quarter of the insulation on the walls cut to fit and up on the walls in just a half hour last night, easy-peasy. The studs hold onto the insulation that's paper-faced quite easily without staples. The staples just keep them from slumping over time behind the eventual wall covering. I'll be running up to Lowes here shortly to pick up a small order I put in last night for staples for the electric staple gun and adhesive for the next layer of floor covering that Corey will put down this weekend. This is that over-building we've talked about that no contractor would do, but is worth it for us to ensure the floor is quite solid feeling to the step, strong and insulated. It will be four layers, in the end, 1/2-inch pressure-treated plywood, 1/2-inch strand board, a radiant layer of insulation, and then a vinyl floor covering.
The guy is here spraying my yard, putting down potash, etc., to get the front yard in good shape for the spring. They already put down pre-emergent in the fall--and all this is for free, they are up in this area doing these things for other commercial customers anyway, so stop by and treat our big front lawn while they're at it. Takes them like five minutes for what must seem like a very small job to them. Appreciated, though.
I did not sleep well, just a couple hours to begin with, was up for a couple hours, and then back in bed. More than seven hours still, but woke up groggy. To the point where, for a moment, I actually believed I had a choice of whether to start my coffee, take my pills, or go potty before doing anything else. I made the wise choice... 🙃
Off to Lowes I go, hope it's a good day for everyone,
Love from sunny Arkansas,

Annie - I agree with Heather now is the time to get help. One of your Dad’s church members may come and visit for a bit so you can get out as well. My parents church helped Mom out that way.
Heather - I looked at that duck, he is adorable!
Lisa - Bell bottoms are becoming popular again I think. You’ll be right in style.
Pip - Hugs to you.
Kim - that is so true.
I’m finding myself grieving my own Dad more again this year. He passed 11 year this past Saturday. I think because I loved my FIL so much he helped ease a bit of the pain. I realized though that this is the first year since I was probably 6 or 7 that I don’t get to write Dad on a Christmas tag.
Heather - your decoration is beautiful! You’ve given me an idea for some I have in a tray on my table.
Pip - I love the dogs sweaters.
I finished the 4 stockings tonight. I made them for our youngest daughter’s best friend. She gave me a not so subtle hint that she would really appreciate them and that she only bought a cheap “Baby’s First Christmas” stocking for their daughter last year.
Dad is a fire captain for the volunteer department in their town, she loves the mountains. Their grandmother buys a nutcracker each year for Grandson since he was born (he’s 12) and started a snow babies collection for the baby last year.
I sent her a picture of the backs to show they were complete and tease her a little and she said she loved them already.
I love your stocking!!!! U r talented. You ought to make one with us on bicycles and I would so pay for it!!!5 -

Made some spicy Italian sausage soup. With bits of cubed onion, mushrooms, ,zucchini, then wild rice and white beans. Even added the last of my mushroom raviolis. Its a hearty stew more like it. I've had over the last two days. 🤗👍🏼💖

Good morning, ladies.
Rebecca, the cards are beautiful.
Tracey, nice stockings....very creative.
Heather, decoration is stunning. Looks elegant.
Pretty well finished with all my pre Christmas prep. Found out yesterday that oldest grandson will not be able to attend (he is 27) as he is on call and can't leave Edmonton. Also oldest granddaughter (25) decided to spend Christmas Eve with her boyfriend's family. Totally understand about the grandson but must say I am disappointed with my granddaughter but it is her choice to make and I respect that.
Will be going for a few groceries later next week as I need to get some fresh fruit and veggies to add to our meal. Looking forward to our family time together.

Pip--Love all the fur babies and their Christmas sweaters. So cute.
Tracey--Those stocking are wonderful. You have since a talent making them to fit the person.
Didn't sleep well again last night as the cough keeps everyone awake. Then this morning I took my pm meds instead of morning ones.
Our department Christmas party was nice and everyone but one showed up so that was nice. Now just have to wrap and get a couple visa cards from the bank and I will be set. DS called lastnight and let me know DDIL has covid. She is off work because had a knee replacement last week. Sure hope she gets better quick.

Hello Everyone!
I whined about my Walmart order (100$) that said it was delivered on Dec. 6th. Well, today it showed up on my front porch. I will be returning it to Walmart as I got the exact same thing from Amazon for $55. Aside from being embarrassed that I may have spoken too soon, I am glad that it can be taken care of. Especially after I wrote a bad review to Walmart.
I am looking over all the posts and just want to say thank you all for being here and prayers for those who need them. Today I was happy to read in my devotional (Ecclesiastes 7) that there is a time for everything and it made me think that we all go through good time and bad times.

Do you track your packages using the tracking number? I do that for sons boxes and any other thing we ordered.

Rebecca ~ The Japanese Christmas cards are lovely. And, your spicy stew sounds good.
Joy ~ We are not going to have a meal with the family this Christmas. For many years we have celebrated holidays and cookouts with daughter-in-laws family because we all get along very well. But, since the pandemic, it has become a burden and I no longer enjoy going for dinners at restaurants or at relatives homes. Guess we are just getting old and slow! LOL I think my son (he's my only child) understands and they will come by for snacks and presents on Christmas day and then go to DIL's mom's. We love her family and I think they love us but time to make new traditions.
Lisa ~ Thanks for understanding my ire at the false delivery information. So glad to have gotten taken care of.

Rebecca ~ Amazon is very good about sending emails regarding their tracking. Walmart also. I very seldom send packages to others but I do keep track when I do. I do not have a credit card so it all goes on my debit card.
Carol in Ga3 -
Tracy, you did a great job on those stockings! You have quite a talent!
Pip Awe those dogs Christmas get up is so darn precious! Especially Yogi's.💖
Joy, enjoy organizing your family get together.💖. I am fixing some ham steaks for husband and maybe dressing, potatoes and gravy. Its just us, so Christmas will be kind of quiet for us. I would rather be organizing and fussing over family, than not to have them come.😥💖

Debbie - do you have a big kitchen? Your house must look like a baker's assembly line. Good job! I bet everything you make is delicious and will be appreciated. My neighbor Cheryl is like you and posted this photo of cookie & candy trays she'll be delivering to the neighbors today. I'm pretty sure one of them has my name on it. I feel more confident that I CAN stash them in the freezer and work on them little by little. Since I've been upping protein, I don't crave sugary treats much anymore. One thing I miss about work is that I'd set goodies like these on the break room table and they'd disappear quickly. Those engineers had a sweet tooth.
Make it a good day!

no, my kitchen is very small. Mom's is bigger than mine but not huge.
I try and do all the fudge at the same time or the toffees. Less dishes that way.
The cracker toffee is basically the same each time, the toppings are all different-almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, coconut or white cho./espresso chip.
Fudge basic recipe then add what ever I can combine that I think sounds good. Only one more batch to do today or tomorrow- not a big rush. It is mainly for dh- Pina Colada with white cho. chips, dried pineapple and dried coconut. will add pineapple flavoring to it this time(just thought of that as I typed)
Kitchen table is buried with supplies(nuts of all kinds, same with the cho.chips, dried fruit)
Got the boxes to former hubby and his parents sent out today-heading to Indiana. Have the big containers for the neighbors and friends(plus former brother in law that lives here in town, close to my MIL. I will drop theirs off on Saturday when I walk MIL's dog). Will take one up to Charlotte(Ms.Beadle from Little House)and her husband as soon as I find out when they will be home. She loves the cracker toffee. Need to do up another container for the guys at the Cajun restaurant. Dh dropped some gifts off for the two brothers that own the place. He will be picking up dinner there tonight and we mentioned the candies I was making so he will take them some. We bartered toys dh had for food- using half of it tonight- gumbo, hush puppies, fried calamari, fish and fries.
Need to get started on my cards- I don't send many out anymore. Most I just say Merry Christmas to on Facebook.
Walked MIL's dog for a short walk and getting ready to go walk the wetlands before getting Ezie from school.4 -
Jake is gone to a holiday open house. We still can't leave Annie, the puppy, home alone so the perfect solution was for Jake to go and me to stay home. There are people he wanted to see and a spread of interesting food. There's no one I necessarily wanted to talk to and I don't enjoy party food. I am excited to have an hour or more at home alone.
One of my happiness commandments is "Don't take things personally. " It is very useful in getting along with people
Tracey, awesome stockings
Lisa great solution to make bell bottoms
Debbie love your joy of baking
Heather beautiful decorations
Barbara yippee about your stove

Rosemarie – I vote for getting your nails done. Cleaning sounds too boring. If it were me, I would just ignore that woman. That’s what she does to you. You have more important things in your life
Newcomer bowling tonight
Got some crab cakes, stuffed crabs and lobster cakes. We’ll see how Vince likes them. They also had Keebler chocolate chip cookies market down to $1.75. Heck, a bag of chocolate chips alone costs $1.69. Update: Vince didn’t care for the crab cakes so I’ll finish them. Tonight we’ll try the stuffed crabs
Worked and then we went to Ikea in Charlotte. See, I want these wine glasses (I’m just tired of the ones I have) and Vince wanted to show them to me since they came 10, 12, and I think 15oz. I wanted the 10oz, it’s not like we’re big wine drinkers and you can always refill the glass
Allie -= what kind of surgery is Smiles having?
After going to Ikea, I’m making 3 of the spinach feta pies for Christmas Eve. I’ll just cut them up and freeze them.. Then wrapped the ceramic tree from MIL for Jess and Colby. Had to put big signs on it “fragile”. Now just have the present for the gal who runs the bowling to wrap but first Vince needs to get the filler for it. Need to order the few gifts we need to order from Amazon. Hope to do that tonight or tomorrow at the latest
Carol – can you edit your post to WalMart or maybe make another one saying how you received the card?
Tracey – absolutely gorgeous stockings. How long did it take for you to make them? Oh, yes, make one with bicycles for pip. Even if it’s not for this year (I’m sure you’re swamped with things you have to do – like the rest of us)
M – good thoughts being sent for your mom
Rebecca – they don’t use raw eel in sushi, do they? The Japanese/Korean people use so much detail and color in everything
Lisa – that’s wonderful that those guys will take care of your front lawn like that. Wish I had someone who would do it for free!
Allie – Siri is adorable. Do you think Doris will wind up being a foster failure?
Michele NC4 -
I would love her.. but don't think I'll be able to take her on,
Miles has a non destended testicle that needs to be taken care of.its outpatient so shouldn't be to hard.
Some loser stole decorations off Tracys front lawn today. What gives...
Sheesh..
Im going down for bloodwork tomorrow.6
