Monday 12/18: Crown prep wasn’t painful, was able to breathe and flex fingers throughout the grinding.
Sunday 12/17: quiet time with tea, Joe and the dogs.
Thinking about goals and word for 2024. Toying with the notion of “Stronger, smarter, sweeter” and “Savor.” We’ll see.
Annie (((hugs))) words fail. (((BIG hugs)))
Rosemarie, ((hugs)) Could your son’s visit be a chance to help a little? Ask him to pick an area of the house that he wouldn’t mind if it changed and ask him and his wife to help you declutter it, 15 minutes at a time, 3 times a day while they visit? Like Lisa, I’m wondering if there’s any grief support near you, through your church or? the “sonny do” list idea.
    Rita congratulations! Recognition well-deserved!
    Pip just my belated two cents. The best vacuum is the one you’ll use. For me, that’s an iRobot Roomba, since I loathe vacuuming but don’t mind emptying bins ;}
Lanette thanks for yours to Rosemarie, and for sharing your Dr. Matt visit. Brava!
Kay “… and send him home with some stuff” Fingers X’d. Even if he has no space, he could give Rosemarie an idea of what things are important to him and which others are not so much.
Michele whatever kind of soup was $5/serving?
@KetoneKaren delighted to see you pop in!
Kylia “…but dusting or deep cleaning are low on my list” Amen, sister, amen!
Through page 43 but hear Joe growling and crashing in the kitchen so . . .

    Gratitudes:
Wednesday 12/20: minimal traffic downtown and only three people in line at the Post Office.
Tuesday: 12/19: Dry and warm in our cozy cabin in the woods above the sea.
Trying on “savor”. Every breath, sensation, sight, sound, not just taste. Since I’ve slowed down, might as well enjoy every moment… or at least be present/aware ;)
Lanette at first I was angry at the gal who cherry picked the free box donations then sold for a profit, but maybe that’s her way to make a living? Is it really stealing to take something from a free box? Then again she’s appropriated and profited from something that someone else needs who couldn’t afford. Life is so damcomplicated!
Heather thanks for the cleaner recipe! the tea towel.
Rebecca $71 for Ramen, Gyoza, a drink and treats? Those treats must have been GOLDEN.
Rita and Michele: Katla is in a safe place with her daughter and grands nearby, but misses her mfp friends and Oregon. Don’t know how her husband is doing. Been thinking to send her greetings from her mfp pals, copied onto a word document with profile pics. I don’t feel comfortable sharing her mailing address at this time, but would gladly compile any greetings y’all would like to send her.
Allie Oww! For both Alfie’s nail and your fall. (gentle hugs) Good thing you have sMiles pics to brighten any day.
Lisa  the plan for the bookshelf, especially the photos, bookworm and bookends… ;) “powers beyond my ken” Doubtless!
Pip  the pic of the pooches.
Machka I’m not sure, but I believe that is the case with Katla.
Carol  the “reminders for hard days” Number 4 reminded me of the country song “when you’re going through hell, keep on going…”
Kay “…better than it was when you started” you inspired me to borrow the e-audiobook “Decluttering at the speed of life” .
Rebecca what you said about the shock of a fall. And even though we’re conditioned to respond positively to “Are you ok” the correct answer is a wailed “Noooo!”
12/19: ZERO sets PT, chair yoga, Jeopardy walking. Steps:7941
    Fuel: sugar in vs mfp=14, CI<CO net=817 vits=1
Live: Joe, readings, BP, H, Wt:132.3

Live: Joe, readings, BP, AF, ptT, ptS, M, H, 1 load laundry. Wt:131.6
‘nother two days accountability and two pages caught up.

Carol, so sorry about your BIL. Prayers for all of you.

Annie, I’m so sorry the pastor changed all your plans. I hope you can get it worked out the way you want. Around here, we couldn’t change the time of a service without the funeral home’s approval. I’m giving your father a pass since his wife just died, but he really should have told the pastor there would be no changes without yours and your sister’s input.

Debbie, I don’t know what to say except hugs.

Because I knew the recycling dumpsters would be overflowing with cardboard, I took our stuff and stopped by after church today. Of course, they were pretty much full. Somebody had left a big wad of bubble wrap between the dumpsters. As I was trying to empty my recycling bag, one item at a time, tossing it over the mountain at the front of the opening into the back of the dumpster, I tripped over the bubble wrap, went down and hit the back of my head on the concrete. My bag with all its plastic went flying all over the parking lot. There were two men there - one emptying his own trunk of recyclables and the other apparently hanging about looking for aluminum or something. Neither of them even asked me if I was ok, much less offer to help me up or gather my plastic. Merry Christmas to me! Luckily, except for a small goose bump on the back of my skull, I seem to be okay. I was able to fit all my plastic and cardboard into the dumpster. Dave checked me out when I came home. The back of my pretty blue wool coat was covered in parking lot crud, which I treated all the folks in Publix to seeing when I stopped on the way home from recycling. Oh, well! I don’t have eyes in the back of my head (only a goosebump). Lol.

I'm sorry you fell ... and I would recommend getting that goosebump checked at Emergency.

    M – what are RATs?

    Michele NC

Rapid antigen tests ... RATs ... what we've all been using to check if we've got COVID or not every time we get a scratchy throat or something for the past almost 4 years.

Friday 12/22: safe, dry drive home from County Commissioners’ meeting last night.
Thursday 12/21: Working washing machine and clothes dryer in our house ;)
Love hearing about all your Christmas plans, what a wide range! Freddie’s had rib roasts on sale so that’s what we’ll have tomorrow. Will get up early to season and rest the roast, then pop it in the oven. Hope to have it all cooked and ready by 10:30 am which is when Joe likes to eat his “lunch”. Would really like to eat this meal together.
Rita the 21st was an interesting collection of “days” indeed. Had to google dongzhi, and smile and “short girl appreciation” ;) Fudge and rum balls, have you been in my kitchen this week?
    Vicki safe travels!
Margaret thankful for your friend’s “infection” not something worse. ((hugs))
Rosemarie imho the baby blue leather couch sounds lovely and practical with dogs.
Belated welcome @Spammyamfa and congratulations for taking 79 lbs off. Well done!
Allie thumbs up for the new ‘do!
Tracey the snow babies are charming, but yikes, the price$!
Lisa glad to hear you’ve had a few less-pain days. Could the acupuncture be helping, as well as overdoing less? the puff pastry tree!
Annie, sad your mom’s church no longer has the volunteers to do funeral receptions. I’m sure she stepped up for many. Think the restaurant ideas is ok, you do not need to be taking on catering tasks at this time. Breathe deep. ((hugs))
Machka who are the “they” who didn’t tell you about your mom’s incident for several days? I’d be annoyed and saddened too!
Heather sure hope the dishwasher packets don’t make the brazil nuts smell like soap!
Pip :love the pooches and their holiday duds and all the Christmas pics. ((hugs))
Lanette “Today was 4 seconds longer. Time to look at the seed catalogs.”
But boy am I grateful we’ve turned the corner.
