The full moon was so beautiful this morning. Garmin says it was 64F when we started our run at 5:00 am this morning. Two of the ladies that I run with have a slower pace so another friend (S) and I run back to them whenever we get too far ahead on the route. By the time we got back to the car, I had 5.6 miles so S and I continued on to round it up to 6 miles. After yesterday's discussion about running fasted, I experimented by eating a granola bar on the way to our meet-up point but I couldn't tell any difference between running fasted and eating before the run.
I’m so sorry you lost your cousin @kgirlhart. 52 years old is so young!
@daria0919 hope your tendinitis flare up has subsided. Forget the streak and listen to your body – we’re in this for the long haul!

Thanks for the kind words @Scott6255 , @Teresa502, @quilteryoyo, @ daria0919, and @tarun_yadavA. It seems like hard times always come in bunches. I am just trying to stay positive.
I did get out for a really nice run this morning. Today is my 8 year "runaversary" so to celebrate I ran 8 miles. I don't usually have time for 8 miles on a weekday, but I wanted to do something to commemorate the day. I came on mfp about 9 years ago hoping to lose about 60 pounds. After I hit that goal I decided to set a non-weight loss goal. I had been walking regularly and I was starting to want to kick it up a notch so I decided to do the C25K app and I started it on 9.18.2016. I really didn't think I would ever be able to run a 5K or even be able to run 30 minutes without stopping and I figured that if I finished C25K that would be it for my running career. But once I started running, much to my surprise, I fell in love with it. Since then I have lost 20 more pounds and kept it off. I now run 5-6 days a week and I'm training for my 5th Half Marathon. It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Plus, I met all of you lovely people. I'm not always the best about commenting on everyone's post, but I always read them and give likes and hugs and I hope you all know that you mean a lot to me and even though we don't know each other in real life, I do consider you all friends. Today's run was really nice. It was a beautiful morning. The moon was just lovely and the stars were so bright. It was 75F, but the humidity wasn't awful and the dew point was 66, so it was better than it has been. It just felt good to be out there running.

@kgirlhart Happy runniversary! Nice commemorative run. Wish MFP had a 'Love' button❣️5

I've not posted the last couple of days. Have a lot going on. But I have read and liked and hugged as appropriate.
So sorry to hear about your cousin @kgirlhart . You have certainly had a rough couple of days. I'm glad you were able to get out for a runaversary commemorative run today. You're story is inspiring.
Thanks for the info on the trail @Teresa502 . Yes. It is on the AT. This is what goggle search showed.

I'll try to find the time to update my runs tomorrow or the next day. I'm working all day the rest of the week, so it makes it hard. I did get my planned run in during my lunch break today and hope to do the same tomorrow and Friday.7 -
Morning all
Got in 9.36M at 09"466 -
Hi everyone!
@kgirlhart I’m really sorry about you cousin! And the tough time you have been having! Thank you for sharing your runiversary story . It is really inspiring and powerful to hear how far you have come!
I don’t have too much to share today. I edited my taper plan yesterday because I thought my original plan I was following wasn’t cutting back enough on mileage, so now I have made my own plan up to race day that will hopefully let my body recover a bit more.
Yesterday was a 13.4km run with 10x1 minute intervals thrown in the middle. Today I ran an easy 6km and did some running drills. I kept my running jacket on this morning to simulate warmer weather even though I didn’t need it, and got nice and reaalllllyyy sweaty .
199.7/270km for September.

@kgirlhart so very sorry to hear of your cousin’s passing. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
8 year runniversary!! Amazing! I agree with @Scott6255, there should be a ♥️ button.
Well, today I’m officially 65! Was hoping to do a 6.5K (4.04 miles) today, but with the tendonitis I think it might just be .65 miles instead 😂
I have ‘flat as a pancake’ flat feet and I think with my 6-8 hour shifts at work wearing sandals has aggravated the tendonitis because of lack of arch support. I may have to give up on looking glamorous at work and go for frumpy with arch supports. Have been taking @Teresa502 and @quilteryoyo’s advice and have not been running the last couple of days.
This is what I have:
Posterior tibial tendonitis: Affects the tendon that connects your calf muscle to bones on the inside of your foot. These tendons help hold up the arch of your foot.
We’re heading to Virginia Beach for a getaway for a few days. Looking forward to the sound of ocean waves…. 🌊🌊🌊 and quiet time with the hubby.9 -
Happy Birthday @daria0919 ! I hope you enjoy your trip and your tendonitis pains go away soon!0

I ran 4 miles this morning around my office complex. Boring but usually pretty safe although I did see what appeared to be a homeless guy entering the parking lot. I just went the opposite direction and I didn’t see him anymore.
Happy Runaversary @kgirlhart! I’m honored to consider you and all the others on here my friends!
@quilteryoyo – Are you doing an out and back run on the trail? I’ve noticed the trees are starting to change colors here so I’m sure you will have some lovely views. Sometimes those fallen leaves can cover up rocks and roots so take your time and watch your steps!
Happy Birthday @daria0919!! Sorry about the tendonitis flare up but glad you are being smart and letting it heal. Take a good book and enjoy the beach get away!
5 -
@kgirlhart My condolences for the loss of your cousin.
Happy runniversary! Your story is so inspiring.
@daria0919 Happy birthday! I recently bought some sandals from dr Scholl's time off line that have really nice cushion and arch support that don't look frumpy! I had plantar fasciitis flare up a few months ago after a long day in shoes with no arch support on my feet. It's gotten better but it hasn't totally gone away. I can't wear sandals to work so most days I've been wearing tennis shoes. But I bought these more supportive sandals before my trip to Japan and they worked great.6 -

Today's speedwork was an interval run. I ended up with 6 miles. I felt pretty good about it. I was too fast on some of the intervals, but I hit most of them. It was 77F when I got up, so not the most pleasant weather, but staying focused on the workout helped me not to focus on the weather. And the moon was still looking very pretty.
Thanks again @Scott6255 , @daria0919 , @quilteryoyo , @Teresa502, @Laurz9191 and @martaindale. And Happy Birthday @daria0919. I'm sorry the tendonitis is still bothering you, but you are being smart to let it heal.

Happy 65 @daria0919 🎉🥳🎂🎁 I'm pretty close behind you 😁
Did Stride repeats today on the TM. 45 min WU, 12x :20 strides / :40 recovery, 15 min CD
It was a good workout for being on the TM. Almost 7 miles.
6 -
Nice run @tarun_yadavA .
Haha about running in a jacket so you'd sweat more @laurz9191 to simulate race day conditions and modifying your taper. You are going to do great on your race.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY @daria0919 ! I'm sorry your tendinitis is giving you so much trouble. Enjoy the beach! Sounds great.
Nice running @Teresa502 . I'm glad you have a safe place to solo run at work and that you stay aware of your surroundings. Yes, we are planning an out and back. If I am really slow, I'll probably not go the entire distance so that we can all end about the same time. We'll see how it goes. I hope there are some nice views and I'll be careful of the falling leaves.
Sorry about your toe @yirara ! I hope it feels better quickly. I'm sure you are sad to be back home from that vacation. It sounded really lovely.
Glad you had a good run @kgirlhart .
Nice TM run @Scott6255 .4 -
@Scott6255 I’m glad your treadmill run was somewhat fun . It sounded like there was enough variety to keep it interesting.
I had a really nice tempo run this morning. The weather is be perfect for running. I am trying to do all my workouts this week without headphones to get used to it, which is different, but so far so good . I ran 10.5km.
210.1/270km for September.8 -
Morning all.
Got in 7.77 🤣 at 09"599 -
I did 15km in the rain this morning, comprising three 5km loops which got progressively wetter. In one particular section the first loop had a shallow puddle of maybe a centimetre deep. The second time going through it, that puddle was maybe 2 or 3cm deep, and on the third loop it was probably 15cm deep. It’s probably just as well I stopped at that point.
I’m not sure if this run was in lieu of yesterday’s missing Thursday 12km or Sundays missing 18km run but it’s my last long run until next weekend as I signed up to do the Blue Lakes 24 hour run.
I’m not running for 24 hours but the event is a fun and very casual run around the Blue Lake, which is a 7 km loop, and you can do it as many times as you like in 24 hours with as many gaps or not as you like. A fair few do run for 24 hours, but my friend and I have booked a motel for the night. I’m kind of hoping to do five laps for 35k during the day on Saturday and pop back to see the serious ultra runners finish on Sunday morning before heading home.
If I do more than five laps, fantastic, if I do less, so be it. It will be a fun weekend away. We booked a space at the start/finish line to put up a gazebo and will have chairs and a chilly bin full of chocolate milk and other treats. Fingers crossed the weather is nicer than today (last year was dire with torrential rain the whole time, which soon turned the trail into a mud bath).9 -
Happy birthday! @daria0919
@kgirlhart Ur back story is great & very inspiring!
05/09 4.05 miles
06/09 3.76 miles

13/09 2.03 miles
18/09 3.70 miles
19/09 4.16 miles
20/09 3.70 miles
Total 28.75/ 50 miles
I got 3 runs so far this week. We are having really mild warm weather at the moment so trying to make the most of it.8 -
No run today. I was supposed to do 5 mi but I really just didn't want to. I opted instead to take a walk with my husband and we walked about 4.6 mi. I don't regret it. Conditions were really bad this morning and that one run is not going to make or break my fitness. I went to Pilates for the second time this week yesterday. Really trying to keep that more consistent.
I'm leaving for New Jersey tomorrow and the race is on Sunday. I'm thinking I'm going to walk the aid stations, which are plentiful and if I start getting tired I'll add in a short walk break at the top of every mile.7 -
Thanks for the birthday wishes @Laurz9191 @Teresa502 @martaindale @kgirlhart @quilteryoyo @Scott6255 @tarun_yadavA and @mari333a 😀

@daria0919 That sounds like a great birthday. The cake looks really delicious, but I don't particularly like pistachio. Dinner sounded delicious and your hubby did great with the flowers and beach trip!5 -

Was really tired before my run on Thursday so just getting out there was an achievement. Swapped around my runs to fit around a no-run weekend so I have 3 rest days. I plan to run with a work colleague on Monday, that should be interesting!6 -
Morning all.
Ran 10 miles at 09"32.
Gone over 1500 for the year. Where I needed to be at the end of Sept (3/4 of year) for my 2000 target. So got 9 days to make a bit of cushion, so that it's as good as done by the time I fly to Costa rica on Dec 19th.
@martaindale good luck Sarah!
Apologies. I think I asked you this. Whereabouts in Jersey again? Was it Philly/Atlantic city side of NJ?8 -

Yep, ocean city! Weather is looking nice, esp compared to Houston. It will be a nice break.

Great job getting out there and getting it done on Thursday @AmunahSki ! Those are the hardest run. I hope your run with your co-worker on Monday goes well.
Nice longer run today @tarun_yadavA . Also, great job with the mileage for the year.
Good luck tomorrow @martaindale !3
