So far 50km of 150km target.
I'm on my taper so the mileages will be dropping like a stone in the next couple weeks.
Then again, I'm at 1,628km / 1014 mi total for the year. That's already more than last year and the year before too. Woohoo! Aiming to see if I can make 2000km for the year. My knees might not like me by then, sigh, aging....6 -

Hi everyone, I've been awol for ages, too much going on to have time to sit down and get on forums, but I heard about Shana and am gutted. I knew she was sick but not that it was so bad. She was such a kind and lovely lady. I see many of you are running for her but feel a group tribute is called for as we've done for others in the past. Thoughts, anyone?5

I was thinking about that too. I would love to be part of a group tribute.4 -
Hi everyone!
I was so busy this weekend that I didn’t have time to read any posts, so I just found out about @shanaber . That is such sad news! She had such a welcoming and warm presence in this group. I am all for a group tribute!
It feels weird posting about my unusual Saturday run/fail and my long run today in light of the news. I do want to thank you for all the birthday wishes and I took a picture of my brunch spread just for @tarun_yadavA , so I will share that. I made it to 40. Today was my last long long run before the marathon (33k) It went well, as the weather was nice and in my favor.
There were also some omelettes and cakes involved, but I didn’t get any pictures of those.6 -

It was perfect running weather this morning. 54°F with a dew point of 54°. Hal's plan called for a rest day today. I'm not sure why. But I usually run 3 miles on Mondays, so I did my usual. I actually ran 3.5 miles. Sometimes I miscalculate the turn around. Plus, it was just so lovely I wanted to keep going. We should have another beautiful morning tomorrow. I know that the heat isn't totally behind us, but I am certainly enjoying this fall-like weather.

I'm just stopping by to share condolences with you all after Shana's passing. I just looked back over my private messages with her - it was mostly cheering each other on in our health battles. Even when she was so sick, she was still such a huge encouragement, and was doing all she could to make the best of what she was able to do. I will miss hearing about her and Hobbes' adventures.
Instead of running, I'm designating the flowers (yellow and magenta chrysanthemums) I brought home today to put into a balcony planter, as my "Shana flowers". They'll be a little reminder to smile and make the most of things.9 -
Also I hope it's OK to post this here, but I'm trying to remember who all said they had moved over to logging in the "Lose It" app...I just started logging over there and can't figure out how to search for friends without having an email address... so IF you're there...feel free to go into the "MFP Exodus" group and scroll back a couple days until you see my comment from around Sept.4, about looking for my MFP Running Challenge friends, and add me from there 😁.2

@shubox1 I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure you will be able to get in the 30 miles this month.
Nice tribute @Scott6255 .
@AmunahSki Nice running and the ski lessons sound like they would be hard. Glad they weren't. I love the Silent disco idea. I'll bet that is a lot of fun. I would take that as a compliment too (dancing like 80s aerobics class).
You're doing great @WarmJellyfish . Nice that you have already exceeded your year goal!
@daria0919 Trying to maintain a streak does get you out for at least a mile when you wouldn't have done it otherwise. You're doing great.
I totally understand how you feel @Laurz9191 . You are doing great with your running and that brunch looks delicious.
Nice running @kgirlhart . I'm glad the weather is better at the moment.
@polskagirl01 I'm glad you posted here. I was going to PM you about @shanaber since I wasn't sure you knew yet. I did not get on Lose It, so can't help you there. I decided I just didn't have the time or energy to learn a knew app.
I am in for a group tribute too, but have no ideas. Does anyone recall what we/you did in the past. I know for @PastorVincent we ran/walked 26.2 miles since he was getting ready to run Boston and we did a random act of kindness in his name too.4 -

24.45/70 mile goal
I went to the gym this morning. Had another PR for the deadlift of 90 pounds.
When I got home, I went out for my long run that I missed on Sat. The weather was pretty perfect - hazy and 68F/20C and a slight breeze. The plan called for 10 min warm up, 5 mile run, 10 min cool down. I walked 6 min or the warm up and then wun the rest of the 10 min and the 5 miles and then walked the entire cool down plus just a little to make 6.4 miles. I decided to follow @scott255 s idea and get in 6.4 miles in tribute to @shanaber . I also hope to get 20 miles total for the week for her too (as @AlphaHowls is doing, but in one run).
I wasn't going for any speed records and decided that I'd just walk when I felt like it and run slowly, so was surprised at my overall pace and the splits when I was mostly running. Overall, the wun pace was 13:07 min/mile. Splits were 13:56 (this mile was done on the driveway), 12:29, 12:39, 13:14, and 13:13 min/mile. My avg HR was 131 with a max of 153 bpm.5 -

Glad to hear from you @eleanorhawkins even if under sad circumstances. I would be in for a group tribute too.0 -
Sept total: 34.9/115 miles
YTD: 709.7/1200 miles
9/2: 6.6 miles
9/5: 7 miles
9/6: 5.2 miles
9/7: 10.1 miles
9/8: 3 miles
9/9: 3 miles
Short pre-work run in the glorious low 60's. It's warming back up a little as Francine gets closer and brings the rain. It looks like we will avoid a direct hit from this one. Fingers crossed the tracking predictions hold.5 -
Did my usual Tuesday loop. It was a bit of a struggle as my legs were still tired from Sunday, but I took it slow and thought, Shana would give everything to be out here running, struggle or not, so I just kept going.7

See this is one reason I've been avoiding you guys... you make me want to go do something crazy 🤣 I'm over here trying to figure out how we can pay tribute to our friend, even though I'd probably not be able to participate. I feel like those 20 miles she was short on her last goal stick out, and there could be a theme including Hobbes in some way...5 -
Morning all.
Did my 6.4 for @shanaber
Got in 6.42 at 10"08.
( @Scott6255 how did we get to this 6.4 figure btw? Which page is this? Her Facebook?)
@polskagirl01 lovely to see you again. And @eleanorhawkins 😊😊
---
@Laurz9191 😋
@AmunahSki nice to meet you! I'm in Canada Water in SE London.
(Did a headphone party once... On a cruise ship... Was umm different).7 -
@martaindale I hope Francine stays away from you. Great running in the cooler weather. I guess Fall is in the air everywhere.
@ContraryMaryMary Nice job getting it done, even if a struggle. Shana is great motivation to keep going when you really don't feel like it.
Hahaha @polskagirl01 . Crazy isn't always bad. I hope you'll come back and "see" us more often. Keep thinking. We'll come up with something to do.
Nice run and tribute @tarun_yadavA .

Nice to hear from you again @polskagirl01!
@tarun_yadavA the 6.4k posts was from Shana's profile page. Just search for @shanaber and then choose Members in the filter.
Did 6.5 miles of goal pace intervals this morning. 15min WU/CD, 4x 5min race pace / 3min recovery.
I felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest during the speed sessions. It wasn't really due to running. Felt more like anxiety. I think I need a rest day, or at least a vacation day from work 😉

Just getting caught up on reading posts and am devastated to hear about @shanaber. I had a feeling things were not going well when she posted her last post last month. She was such a fighter. She tried all the different treatments but the cancer was just too much. I'm going to miss her and the updates on Hobbes. I bet he is devastated also.5
