    @AlphaHowls I don't have a Garmin, but am guessing if the cheaper watches have options for indoor workouts (like treadmill running), that don't use GPS, and you can set up custom workout settings and call them whatever you want, surely Garmin has those features as well.

    Sorry your tendinitis flared back up @daria0919 . Definitely give up on the streak instead of hurting yourself if you need to. A couple of days off is better than a couple of months from injury.

    @AlphaHowls The battery on the 745 lasts pretty good. I don't run anywhere close to your distances, but I haven't had any issues with my 10 mile runs. I'd say if it is fully charged, it isn't even half depleted after 10 miles. But, @Teresa502 is correct. You need to compare battery lives since you run such long distances. I always plug my in when I take a shower, so it stays charged every day.

    Sunday’s long run was in the late afternoon, and unusually I’d eaten lunch with my family (a chicken and salad wrap) about 3 hours before that: I felt like I was going to puke a couple of times… so I won’t be doing that again! @scott6255 I much prefer to run fasted, but I have recently seen a ZOE interview with Dr Stacy Sims which advises against it.     I’d welcome other views on this!

    I moved around my rest days this week because for today’s run I dropped off my car in town (for its annual MOT) and ran home before starting work. I’m simply amazed that I can now contemplate ‘running’ as an actual form of transportation over a 4-5 mile distance - in previous years I would have just sat around and waited for the test (or taken two cars, before we got rid of car number 2).

    @alphahowls Garmin user here, Fenix 6S Pro (and use the Connect app). It’s a good all-rounder, but a friend has a Forerunner 265 which provides much more ‘running dedicated’ data: I’m looking at buying this for my son-in-law for Christmas/birthday this year. I’ve had no issues with inconsistent GPS, perhaps look at all your activity settings and try GPS + GLONASS or GPS + GALILEO, or change the recording method between Smart or Every Second (Smart recording saves GPS points when there are changes in speed, direction, heart rate, or elevation; Every Second recording records a GPS point once per second), but yes you can also just turn it off!

    A group from my gym has started doing some trail runs. I may join them on Saturday. I know I'll be a lot slower than they are, but I think I'll give it a go. I'd really like to run in different areas, at least every once in a while. @Teresa502 The plan is to run from Beauty Spot to Unaka, I think is the name of the trail. Have you hiked that area before?
    Yes, and I love that area! Unaka has what some refer to as the Emerald Forest because there are tall pine trees with a carpet of brilliant, green moss underneath. Will you be running on the AT? All of the NOBO thru-hikers will have already passed that section and it's probably a little early for the SOBOs to be hitting it so there probably won't be a lot of foot traffic on the trail. I think you will love it!

    Was planning to run this morning but it was pouring rain and everyone else cancelled so I did a HiiT workout at home instead.

    @Scott6255 - You are being too hard on yourself. I've seen your paces and distances on Strava and you are doing fabulous getting back to running. You jumped in with both feet and haven't looked back.

    @AmunahSki - I understand the science behind not running fasted, but I think everyone's body is different. I usually run fasted because I run early and simply don't have time to eat and let it fully digest before I start my run. Unless I got up at 3:00 am vs. 4:00 am and that's not happening! :D

    Came down with covid, grrrrr. Thought this thing was over and done with already.
    I did try to race a granny with a walker across the supermarket parking lot. I lost.

    Those types of anniversaries are really tough. Hopefully it came with some wonderful memories of your dad as well.

    @AmunahSki, I really rate Dr Stacey Sims. All female athletes (of all levels) should read her book (Roar) or listen to her podcasts. So much of what is standard runners training doesn’t work for women. Eat the carbs, ditch the super cold ice baths, no fasted running, lift heavy, and as for that pesky menstrual cycle, learn to work with it. And she has a lot of great information around perimenopause and menopause.
