Napped through an issue with the project I'm working on, woke up with an answer. We'll see if it works!
Thanks for the doggie pics... Living through y'all vicariously, as my husband is not a dog-kinda guy. Thinks an awful lot of the cat, though. 🤔🐈⬛😹
Warm, sultry afternoon in Arkansas, so I'm staying inside in the cool. Corey's making a plum jam in the Instant Pot, plans on a cheesecake with it, I think. Not to my taste, really, but that's OK. His brother's coming over for fajitas tomorrow, and they can have it all to themselves. At the moment, he's out in the sunroom, reading, but at 86 f (30 c), still a bit too warm for me... Back to my design and build...
Later,
Love y'all!

Barbie- I remember Brandy and Sasha and didn't you have a beagle too?
I love all animals,I grew up with, cats, dogs, fish, birds you name it we had it..though my parent's weren't the best at vetting the animals thats for sure.. a few litters of puppies ,heartworm killed one of the dogs no preventative
outdoor cats..mom had a cockatiel she used to let fly around the house and she never got its wings clipped, left the door open and out it went.
I had a shepard husky mix puppy that I got when I was 18 or so I told my mom please don't let him out until I get up.. so whats she do let him out and he gets hit by a car..
So they weren't great pet parent's
Little boy went to the beach today..they are trying to get in every little bit of time they can while they can..
Time is ticking..
Tomorrow im picking up groceries...and will do my pills ,and do some laundry5 -
WalMart had marshmallows marked down and I fell for buying them. Now I need to think of something to do with them. Guess I’ll google it. I’m just so sick of rice krispie bars. That was one of the few things I could make when I didn’t have an oven.

This is an easy and REALLY good recipe using marshmallows. We made for the first time two years ago- Made it again last year. I like it even without the gum drops

Be very, very careful with that. Rice develops a bacteria that can make you very sick.
This is the voice of experience talking. Rice was the reason for one of my Top 2 vomiting experiences. I can only remember one other bout with food poisoning where I expelled that much.

Barbara - Great job on the night stands.
Heather - How sad for your Dad to have to deal with your grandfather’s final years.
I often wonder what would happen to Rodger if something were to happen to me. I think though that the girls would step in if they saw the need.
Annie - Your trip must be coming soon isn’t it?
Carol - I think it’s easy to allow ourselves, when we have more time to do things to keep putting it off. Then it becomes a bigger task that becomes even easier to put off. I found myself doing that over the last year, but now that I’m on a schedule with work again I’ve gotten things in order and routine.
Rita - I’ve been reading along with your sessions. Today’s struck a chord with me. When I was quitting smoking, I was concerned with being restless, not knowing what to do with my hands. I bought sunflower seeds and ate them like crazy. I figured I couldn’t eat enough of them because of the salt to make that much difference calorie wise so ended up losing 20lbs in the first few months of quitting. I also bought a Wii after being smoke free for a month. That helped too.
I joined this group in April 2018, however I went back and read as far as January that year before I ever commented. I started reading shortly after Machka’s husband’s accident, she was giving updates and I kept coming back to see how he was, all the while feeling connected to others too. I think it was probably mid April before I ever spoke myself.
I had a good day. I tidied the house this morning, helped at the ceramics shop this afternoon then went and picked up Lauryn and the Grands.
We had a family dinner, Jonah and I had our 13th annual selfie.😳. Kaitlyn and Brodey bought me a new throw and the most beautiful card.

Tracey - What gorgeous cards. You deserve every word on there. Love the photo!
I've been two nights now without painkillers. It's very uncomfortable at times and I usually have to do a ten minute workout in the middle of the night at some point, but I'm pleased to be weaning myself off them. I do another short routine when I wake up, same reason. Ouch! The movement really helps.
I do take something if I'm going out, and have to walk any distance.
I'm thinking about making a start on cleaning my ovens today. I have bought some horrible, chemical cleaner, which has a plastic bag for the racks. You can leave them outside for hours. I'm not cooking in the ovens today. Left over veggies for me for lunch with wholegrain pasta, and for John, mackerel and horseradish sandwich again. Dinner will be a mushroom omelette with broccoli. I make the mushrooms into a creamy sauce with crême fraiche.
I'm still thinking about it.

Today’s gratitudes: that Joe found where the critters could get in under the house and is blocking it; that the bear poop Mooch rolled in this morning, rinsed right out.
Heather imho, “umpteen” for sure ! ;} Two nights without painkillers, bravissima!
Lisa, Joe has never to my knowledge ever folded any piece of clothing, but just bunched and stuffed into whichever drawers. I took over the laundry in 1984 when he wanted to just throw all the clothes in the washer, darks, lights, whites, delicates all together. I MK’d his T-shirts, (colors on the left, whites on the right), fold and stack the tidy whities, and match the socks. Whenever I thank him for washing dishes I left out the night before (!?!), he thanks me for the clean underwear. Works for us ;} Brilliant compression sock hack, that new serger is getting a workout!
Annie yay for the stationary bike, double yay for the forest walks! Safe travels, hope your LV trip is restorative, you’ve been under so much stress for so very long. ((hugs))
Carol amazing and inspiring decluttering! What a testament to your new knee!
Margaret so true about painkillers’ affects on our guts, antibiotics too. I’ve been lucky with this round, think the fiber and probiotics have helped.
Mo Rosie! Could hug her from here!
Rita thanks for the convenience food tips.
Lanette that tool library is a wonderful solution for your DH’s collection. Brava! What you said to Mo about Goldens I checked and looks like I’ve been on mfp since 2008, joined the 50+ thread in October 2009. Sure miss Katla, Penny, Julie, Suebdew, JanetR and so many others.
Allie what you (and others) have said about the women on this thread being some of our dearest friends. ((hugs held extra long)) for your pup, so long ago and it still hurts.
Pip thanks for the 3 musketeers pic.
Barbie I remember Brandy but didn’t remember Shilo. Lovely.
Kay wow! OK here are my sock and undie drawers. Dividers are just gift boxes I had in my packing materials.Tracey that card made me tear up. We all “…need a Tracey”
Day 11/30 Medicines (will tackle first aid box another day)Meds I won’t take set aside to take to police dept, expired OTC bagged to take to pharmacy, plastic bags from DDS to poop bag storage, implants card to filing pile ;}, paper towels recycled, paper Ice packs, mouth guard cleaning powders and expired Pepto Bismol trashed. GoneOne of the burner control knobs on our Samsung range came off and the little plastic center hole is broken. “Extended” warranty expired in March, and after what we went through last November to get the igniter replaced I declined to pay the hundreds they wanted to extend. Samsung wants $82.90. Not sure if that is for one or for a set of 5. I want to try the crazy glue/hose clamp YouTube fix but Joe is cautious, doesn’t want to “burn the house down.” For now, I replaced it with the knob from the griddle which we rarely use. Augh! https://samsungpartsusa.com/products/nx58h5600ss-aa-range-surface-burner-knob

Barbara AHMOD - Put the same info in a search and you get all five on Amazon for $28 - or all five on TEMU for $134
-
Question: Is TEMU a legitimate shopping site? The prices look really low but I see that it is a company from China.
Heather ~ I have to do exercises in the middle of the night also. When I realize my knee is aching, they seem to loosen it back up.
Barbara ~ Congrats on the organizing. My DH has never done laundry as far as I can remember.
Tracey ~ You have a wonderful supportive family! I didn't like you grandson's haircut when you showed it last week but it looks really good in the BD photo. I wish my grandson would get his hair cut. But, finally realized that the long messed up look is what all the young guys are sporting. His hair was straight until he reached puberty but now it is very curly and looks like mop top.
Barbie ~ Your poodle and goldie were beautiful dogs.
Kim ~ Looked up Bearnise Mt./poodle breed. They look so cute and would love to own one myself.
Made a huge (and I mean HUGE) pot of vegetable and meat soup last night. Will try to freeze it if I can find a space in my freezer. Managed to not eat snacks after dinner last night and weight is back down to the normal overweight number.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
On the one hand last night I wrote a haiku about a Buddhist concept. I am very proud and happy about it.
On the other hand, my sock drawer! It barely closes, and I don't remember what's in the back. My whole bedroom is a wipeout mess. I never could decide what clothes to toss. I can't linger up there, because Dad might go walkabout. Although he is getting better after months of limits.
Tracey that's a beautiful card! ... My trip is in October. I'm fixin' to get ready to go! I ordered a bunch of clothes from Amazon to arrive tonight. Still time to reorder different sizes of I need to.
I'm having lunch at IHOP with my cousin who is staying with my Dad while I'm gone. I saw my buddy yesterday who is taking me to the airport. So much to do!
Heather Yay for your sensible attitude about painkillers!
May you all have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

I work where my boss and co-workers are all my daughters age. I am in the caregiver category for my parents. My co-workers are in the middle of woo wee its all about me. I have applied for a position in a department that has multiple people my age and also caregivers. My goal is to loose 20-40 lbs. 20 lbs will bring me back to pre-Covid weight. 40 would put me back to my best me weight. Does anyone have the premium mfp? I loved the style back in 2016 this new version not so much. Just curious if the premium version gives you everything the way it use to be.5

Mo the author of that book Face your Stuff or Stuff your Face is one of the consultants on the show Hoarders. She walked her talk and lost 75 pounds!
I have read you have to be careful using Temu their quality is not the best. Get what you pay for.
Barbara This summer I got what was going around. I was only mildly sick for two days and three days slightly tired. Neighbor was sick for two weeks! I attribute my fast recovery to the change in lifestyle and diet.

Morning all
Slept horribly last night..why I don't know..maybe worried about Tracy..
Going to hop in the shower and then pick up groceries ..
Tomorrow is the big day..6 -
Yesterday dinner was 1/2 left over from Taco Bell bean burrito, smoked sausage (I had 2) sauerkraut, and potato salad made with olive oil and lots of chopped onions, and celery. Not the most healthy but don’t have these very often. Orange, grapes, banana, and raspberries were fruits of the day. Hummus and naan for supper.

I've soaked the oven racks in the bag, and now I will go downstairs and try to wash off the cleaner from the oven. I did the door this morning, and only have a few stubborn spots left on that. My knee doesn't like all this manoeuvring about, but I've put some Ibuleve on it. Getting the racks out of the bag and tipping the residue down the sink will be fun!
Progress not perfection.

Didn't get around to the bags. I reached my limit after washing out the lower oven. It definitely isn't perfect, but it's an improvement. I will tackle the bags in the morning, with fresh energy. Knee complaining.
I would like to get the glass door sparkling. I did that last time, and it was very satisfying.
John's back is playing up. He is miserable about it.

Good morning ladies!
Before I forget, I dreamed last night. Dreamt I loaned Lisa a brush I have on a long extension pole which is used to grab cobwebs from upper corners in a vaulted ceiling. I hope it helped, lol. Also dreamed the cat I had put to sleep on Monday was back. Pet Sematary??
Then, I stopped in at the vet's and asked what gives with the cat still living and the vet rushed out the door and said he was on vacation so no time to talk. (My vet is a gal! Not sure who this guy was!). So much for Mexican food- that was the little meal at the baby shower yesterday afternoon. Quite tasty and HOT. Not something I typically eat though. Hard to get back to sleep after all that dreamy excitement so was up too early.
By the way, the baby shower had a large attendance, and mom got no less than 50 cloth diapers (very very cute in printed material!) and probably 75 little outfits - a few were bigger sizes for the baby to grow into. The lady sitting next to me (the mom's great aunt) commented that the baby will have to change outfits ten times a day to wear them all, lol. I did the practical thing and got her a set of little baby food freezer containers that she had listed on her Amazon baby registry and a gift card.
Barbara - good job Joe for finding the hole under the house and plugging it.
Tracey, lovely photo of you and Jonah (really like his haircut) and the cards were very nice. I agree, your girls (and their husbands) have the best Mom in the world.
Kay and Barbara - great drawer organization. Isn't it a good feeling to pull open a drawer and be able to see (and grab) exactly what you're looking for without pawing through and messing things up even further? (I speak from experience )
Carol - your vegetable soup sounds delicious, it's getting soup weather around here too.
Rita - yummy supper for you. I need to pick up some sausages, thanks for the reminder!
Annie - hope you like the clothes you ordered and they fit like you want. Smart thinking ordering early in case you need to exchange any of them. I'm getting excited for you and your upcoming trip!
Reminder for ladies participating in the weekly Check-In to please get info to me no later than noon tomorrow. Thank you!

SW WA State3 -
Heather - Well done for getting as far as you did! No fun even with good hips and knees dealing with an oven scrub. I despair of the oven door - Corey will cook bacon in the oven, and it gets gungy inside of a day or two again.
Lanette - I was actually dusting away spider webs in my craft room yesterday! And of course, with a telescoping handle duster. The savior of every short woman ever, long handles.
Carol - I have ordered probably six or eight times in the last three years from Temu. I'm very aware that it's coming out of China, but so is the vast majority of anything you order from Amazon, as well. And in fact, Samsung, the brand of stove that Barbara has, is a Chinese company, as well. Either way, the money is going to China! I have been impressed by the return policy for the bits and bobs I buy. I bought a set of crochet needles with wooden handles, but the shafts weren't long enough to work for thick thread. I posted it as a return, and I got an immediate Temu credit or a credit card credit if I wanted that instead. And I didn't have to return the needles. I'll donate them in my next run to Goodwill. So far, overall, I've been just as satisfied with them as with Amazon - but I have had to watch who's shipping my items. If it's Temu, it's generally free, but if it's one of their suppliers, or a local U.S. supplier, the shipping charges add up really quick.
Since I started this conversation - the small organizing boxes shown are from Walmart - about $7.00 for six assorted small containers. I ordered extra when I got the ones for my craft room, and they've worked out nicely in the dresser drawers. Oh, and Monday is laundry day, so a lot are half empty! The top two are Corey's drawers, and the bottom two are mine. Re: socks, I only keep compression socks and the short white footies. Only have to match up the compression socks that way. The rest are all the same. Makes life simpler.
Playing with beads today, had to take a break from sewing, so I cleaned up the craft room, and started building bracelets out of the thousands of wooden beads I ordered months ago.
Later, my dears,
Love,

A few pages behind- trying to catch up before leaving for church.
Still way too much drama with dh and his mother. The lady he hired to help his mom didn't pass MIL's "test". She won't come next week(schedule too full) but they will try the following week. Caused more problems for dh having her there.
Would love to take a bath once in a while but the tub is covered with a piece of plywood then lined up with litter boxes. Too much trouble to move all of them, clean the tub, just for a 20 min soak. The other bathroom just has a shower.
Been doing a lot of decluttering in the living room- had an issue with an extention cord getting unplugged VERY late at night so I just pulled stuff and piled it in the middle of the floor- slowly going through every thing(shelves, filing cabinet, etc) Tossed so many arm loads of papers- totally emptied the filing cabinet. Most was school papers from son- perfect attendance- (they gave him one every month-he never missed a day from kindergarten through 5th grade which is how high that school went)
I will be doing a lot more in the next couple days- want the whole living room really cleared out- need to down size all the daycare stuff. Checking with a lady at church this morning to see if she needs anything for her class at the church school.
Dh is taking his mom to her post op appointment tomorrow and his friends are coming Tuesday so I get two days to do what I want with no interuptions.
Had a great aqua zumba class Friday night. Just the teacher and I- she got her suit on and got in the pool and we had class there. Fun for us and easier on her knees than the cement.
Time for church
I will have to catch up the last two pages when I get back.
Should have been doing some food program work on here- I can do it tonight.
