Debbie – smart bird never telling your mom to shut up….
Barbara – the township does an electronics recycling about twice a year and the lines to take your items are outrageous. The last time we went the guy was saying how TV’s can be taken to the landfill at any time, you don’t have to wait for electronics recycling. I suspect when they do this, they just take the TV’s etc. to the landfill. I can also take the batteries to the landfill, not sure what they do with them but I’ve taken them there before
Heather – I just looked up about Oven Pride. Think I just might give it a try. In the past, I’ve used Easy Off barbecue cleaner and it’s worked quite well. Oven Pride just had one review, tho
After work we put the sheets to make two of the windows in the garage look frosted. I’ve seen others who have blinds in their garage windows. What a pain they must be to keep clean! I remember the previous owner of our old house had curtains in the windows. They were a pain to have to constantly wash. So we’re hoping that this will be helpful. Then had to go to Lowe’s again because I didn’t get enough of those stakes that I’m guessing have some sort of fertilizer in them. Hopefully, that’ll help some of the plants the guy gave me bloom. Very few of them have. If this doesn’t work, guess I’ll have to replace them all (boo, boo). Ceramics tonight
Margaret – sure hope DrewB is OK
I do most of the laundry but Vince washes most of his t-shirts. He just doesn’t trust me to do it his way
Mo – where did you get the recipe for the cookies? I tried to copy it so that I could print it out, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it short of printing out the entire page.
Allie – oh, she’s just beautiful, perfect. HUGS for everyone. One angel to watch over another angel.
Rori – always wonderful to hear from you. I’m so happy for you
Michele NC4 -
Michelle, I got it from an old WW book I had as a member. I also typed it out and have it in my recipe book, volume one. I couldn't throw the book away, so I kept it inside my pocket. Can you take a picture of it with your phone? If not, I can scan it and email the PDF.2

I hope all is well with everyone. Today is "Coma Day" for me. I just wanted to know about the delivery and hear about the babies. I also wanted to know how Tracy was. Losing a baby is hard. Well, I'll talk to you all soon. I wish Rose got the memo about Coma Day. We have been going in and out all day. I fell asleep in a chair. It was raining pretty hard.

I don't know if any of the organizing websites and teachers say this, so I'm going to share something that works for me. The less you have, the easier it is to organize it in the space you have for storage. Also, the less you buy, the less you have to get rid of.

I think all the organising websites say that ... the great minimalism trend.
I follow these and a few others, and articles about minimalism keep cropping up.

DrewB did eat later in the day. I was able to take her out later. She was stung at the big field I take her I think until we have a freeze I will avoid the field and the parks. The neighborhoods have fewer flowering plants in the grass. She was stung once before a few years ago by a ground wasp at a park.4

Michele - very few plants flower all year long, and often they don't flower for the first season or two that they have been transplanted. Flowering takes a lot of energy and they are spending a lot of energy spreading their roots. Do you know the name from the tag of what the plant is? I'll look it up for you.

Today’s gratitude: At the vet’s today, Mooch’s breeder ok’d transfer of his medical records to us. Since he’s up to date on all his immunizations, vet didn’t charge us for a well pet visit. AND he’s chipped and the breeder gave us the number to transfer his ownership. Sadly she suggested now would not be a good time to take him to visit his former owner. :’{ To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to seeing her in that condition.
Oops, forgot to get update to Lanette. Average wt last week 130.4, Sunday down to 129.9. Moving a little more, BB&B and dog group once each, line dancing twice, step count still low but improving.
Heather thanks for “Oven Pride.” Looks like available from Amazon here. Barkeepers’ friend is one of my faves.
Annie I’m excited for your trip too! Your cousin is lucky you’re looking out for her. No Bugs!!!
Margaret, poor DrewB!
Mo those WW Whoopee pies look good, and surprisingly free from the artificial sweeteners in so many WW recipes. Yum!
Allie that baby B pic made me catch my breath Such a heartbreaker about Baby A. Back in Boise I met a volunteer photographer who took portrait pictures of stillborns, kind of like the group “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.” Will Tracy and Kyle see Baby A or have any pics?
Rori safe travels and fun with N! Hope the ortho has some good answers for you.
Ginny “periarticular marrow edema” wow, that’s a mouthful. How long do you have to wait for a Dr. appointment?
Tina welcome back, you were missed!
Michele, glad Kim volunteered to check out your slow bloomers
Machka had to laugh at that "10 things to declutter right now" list. Most on that list are what has kept me going on this challenge, the easy, low-hanging fruit.
Day 13/30 Dreaded going into bathroom cabinets, should have trusted the process. Found more than five things on the counter top and in one drawerPut stuff from the green circle away into its proper place, added the blue circle to the donation pile, trashed the red.Strange thing. A 4” piece of ribbon, left over from last week’s bouquet, went straight to the trash! Normally I’d set it down “somewhere” until I could add it to the ribbon box. Could something be shifting in me?
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Good job, Barbara! I love that something is shifting. It takes time to develop that decluttering 'muscle'. That's the point of Cas's challenge, not to get your whole house minimalised at once. I'm so pleased that my muscle has grown to the point where I can get ruthless. My weak point is photos and memorabilia of the memoir type. I have boxes of writings, despite thinning them out, and digitising them. I know my children will toss them when I'm gone, but I still hold on to the fantasy that I will be famous enough one day to qualify for an archive somewhere.
The next book might do it!
Went out this morning to the Co-op to buy more packets of the curry sauce we had last night. It was delicious! When I got to the shelf, I was shocked at the price! I did buy two, but, phew! That's why it has no artificial ingredients in it! I also bought some wholegrain rolls for John's cricket tomorrow, and picked up a couple of prescriptions.
I decided then that I wouldn't go to the school to collect Bea. Too much for me, especially as she likes to play on the trees in the park, and it is a lovely day, so might play for longer. I will get an Uber, as usual, to see the family. I want to discuss Edie's birthday present, and Christmas arrangements. I really don't want to host, but feel bad about my son always hosting. I am happy to prepare anything in advance that can be made. Last time I made gluten free Christmas pudding, stuffing, and bread sauce. I just feel, with the children getting older, it's better for them to be in their very big space. I propose having them over for pancake orgy on Christmas Eve, with John's Christmas Quiz. Time limited.
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx6 -
Morning all

Morning, my chickens... I'm staggering around a bit this morning, slept from 7 last night until nearly 6 this morning, making up for Sunday night's lack of sleep. Still kinda stiff, trying to get it all worked out.
Rebecca - not sure if it was the repeated Epley maneuvers or forcing myself to sleep on my back instead of my side (took a pillow on my side, finally, to keep me from turning over). Whichever it was, I've had a couple days now without vertigo, and woke up without that feeling behind my eyeballs or in my neck that my head will be spinning, and I may need to clutch something to keep from falling.
Pip - You should put the link up on Facebook with the exact amount you need to get over the $1,000 hump and get a jersey. I'm sure I remember you posting the link at least once, but people really like to help other people get to a specific goal and win.
Barbara - Like Heather already said, that shift is a good sign. I'm finding myself moving us toward a couple things--like not buying extra food and storing it. The grocery stores have more shelves than I do, why am I using my storage space? On that same note, I'm holding onto the notion that running out of things isn't a tragedy, and it doesn't mean we're poor. Might sound weird, but I'm trying really hard not to feel I must have a second one of every single box, bag or can of foodstuff. So, we're also still "shopping the freezer" for September. No fresh meat coming in the house for one month. The freezer is full, it's time to make it make sense. I don't need to store abundant frozen packages of meat in order to feel secure.
Just dinking around this morning - plan to pop into town about 9 a.m., but stalled for the moment on the current design and reluctant to start on the next, though I do have some thoughts wandering around...
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Good morning beautiful ladies!
I'm off my schedule already, forgot my caffeine and had a great nap. Now there's stuff to do!
Allie Congratulations and condolences. What a mixed up day. Still, happy birthday to the beautiful new baby!
Margaret hope DrewB is okay after the bee sting!
Tina good to see you! We all understand about limiting screen time, especially in election season.
Rori and Ginny hope your feet get better! Such a nuisance.
Lisa my mom bought extras of everything. I feel funny now with plenty of room in the fridge and the pantry.
Well time to start my day! May you all have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Allie--Great news on your new granddaughter. She is pretty. Also sending prayers and hugs for your loss. It's bittersweet.
New person is coming in at noon today to start training. It is not my favorite thing to do, but the sooner the better.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE7 -
@Allie—thinking and praying for you and your family in this highly emotional time. Take care of yourself!
Dinner yesterday was a home made pizza. First time I had pizza in over a year! I found some fresh pizza dough in Albertsons and needed cheese, but had everything else. So pepperoni pizza it was. Sorry, no picture. I thought of it too late. LOL Enjoyed it!
DH had bloodwork to verify his anemia and/or liver issues. Review is next Tuesday. I was to have a therapy session right after our review, but will reschedule. I’ll be anxious enough after DH’s doctor session. Next Thursday, I have both the kidney doctor and the dentist. One right after the other. Just will be glad when next week is over. I’ve been stressing the past month as DH has been miserable and crabby, not feeling well and anxious about it so taking it out on me rather than talking about it. Not fun. I’ve been lacking on the walking and exercising. No room inside and still too hot outside. Town is too far for a simple just go to the gym. So, watching my food and just resting my mind for now. All my ‘tools’ for keeping my anxiety under control are in use, except for the walking. Just need to take it one day at a time.

Ginny - happy you got the update on your MRI results. It will be interesting to see the path going forward.
Rori - smart thinking getting your foot problems assessed too. I agree 1000%, we need to keep up with our mobility to let us keep enjoying our lives. Have a great time with N! Can't wait to hear more about your Maine adventure. I'd never heard of Thred up, I'm going to check it out. Great idea!
Vicki - crossing fingers the new hire likes the job and stays!!
Alex my landscaper/junk hauler came out, I have a lot for them to do. He said half a day should do it, I'll probably see them within the next week, weather permitting.

Allie- I wonder if they could have pictures of the other twin, put in a sealed envelope and put away, just in case later they would want to see her.
Dh is going out with a friend for the day- His friend will go with him to his mom's(his mom likes this guy and dh's other friend that usually comes down from Sacramento)-Both planned on coming down but yesterday, his step daughter passed away. She was shot two years ago and paralyzied from the neck down-died from complications from trac. blockage or something. The girl got shot when she was out with a boyfriend who was selling drugs in the middle of the night. She had caused so much grief for Art and his wife. Sad, she was only I think 20 or so
Anyways- Dh and Victor will go out to lunch, a movie, ??? Good for dh to be able to get out and talk with this friend, one on one. He is the friend that goes on all of our vacations with us. His birthday is Thursday, on our anniversary.
While they are gone, more decluttering for me. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to yesterday because dh got done with his mom earlier than I thought he would and we went to Black Friday. We had picked up cat food on Sunday- $4 a box of 12(they sell for $25 on Amazon)- we only bought 3 because we didn't know if the cats would eat it- they LOVED it so we went back and surprisingly they had a bunch left- Picked up 15 more at $2 each. Also got a covered kitty bed, more washable pee pads(one really nice big one) and a box of disposable ones- they are a bit small so I think I will give them to my friend who helps with rescues-she uses them in the traps when they are catching ferals and getting them fixed. She has our last outside/stray cat getting him fixed today-girls got fixed last week. Not our cats but we have to pay $100 each but can't have more kittens in the yard. She has talked to dh about not putting so much food out in the evenings- invitation for the coons and other cats to start showing up. I have told him that for years but when she told him, he listened- a little. Will see how he is when the boy comes back. Hoping they could work on a few wounds he has from fighting- we have tried treating them but each time they are about healed up, he gets into another fight- now that he will be fixed, that should stop.
The other thing on my list today is that friend's mom is coming over for me to do some sewing for her. She has a few favorite blouses that she wants me to try and copy- no pattern- I will try and find a pattern and if not, try and make one(not very good at that but will try with some fabric I have here for the first one)
Will be nice to be sewing again. Not sure how many shirts she wants. She doesn't like the fabric of the ones available to buy now. She likes cotton/cotton blends. I have sheets I bought at the thrift store when I was making masks that I will use for the first one and if she likes, I can use some of the other ones for more. Won't cost anything if I do that really. Sheets were about $2-3 each set
Time to finish my tea and get started. Dee will be here at noon and I want more stuff cleared out of the living room before she gets here.
One of these days I will get my sewing room cleaned out again and start using it.
