do understand inheritance, but use of something doesn't have to ruin it.
Quilts, in particular, should get more beautiful with time and use, not less. Just a little care will keep them in good shape. I'm not good at judging how old someone is, but she seemed to be in her 80s, and she had put these things she loved away instead of having them out where she can see them, enjoy them, indulge in the memory of their creation. It does seem a pity. I try to tell the recipients of my quilts to USE them, that's what they're for, but you can't make people use the good china, I've found.
Ah well.
Too deeply philosophical this morning! Time to go back to work on the fabric avalanche:
I want to be out mowing as soon as it's light, and would like to have that straightened out before I go outside. We'll see... believe it or not, that's only half. I did the first half yesterday! I'll take a picture when it's done, and try to remember that "done is better than perfect." 👀😹🤣
Love y'all!

A couple years ago,mom had a friend finish off four quilt tops that my great grandmother had made but never finished many years before- Mom had just had them in the closet. Now that they are finished. Each of us three girls got one and one for mom. I keep it on the back of my couch all the time. I change the couch cover under it, depending on the season, but always have the quilt there- It is a crazy quilt. When mom had them finished and was letting me pick which one I wanted(I got first pick), it was fun listening to her remember what each of the fabrics were from.
I also have a baby blanket Grandma Bee made for my older sister. It is put away. It is well worn. One day I will pull it back out again.

Good Morning, ladies, even though it is two minutes to noon. Rose is late for day camp, but I will soon shower and prepare for us. I was going to skip the pool time today, but my friend asked me how it was yesterday, and the guilt hit. So, we are going to our places. I will exercise tomorrow, too, to make up for yesterday. I did throw out some things this Morning. Now, one empty shelf, and I can walk through my garage. Now, I need to check out the Thred Up site. I can get rid of my big clothes there, and I found some of Julia's scrubs that have tags on them, and I can get her some credit, too. My closet is full of new pants that are too big for DH, so he can also benefit from them. So, every week, I will spend 5 minutes in each room on my day off. I may need to have a yard sale as well. There are two ugly lamps in my living room and junk in my mother's old room. I have not checked out Horace Alexanders(my son). I will ask him as I go.
Allie, I'm glad you got some sleep. It looks like sMiles will be a great big brother.
Lisa, my cats always lay on my books when I had to study or on me. That is their way of saying it is all about me. You have enough material to make a beautiful quilt. Enjoy creating.
Heather, I am so happy you made it to the beach. You look beautiful and happy.
Annie, I am so excited for you. It is fun to have new clothes. Did you get any shirts with Pink Floyd or Rolling Stones on them? My fave back then was Fleetwood Mac. I love Elton John, too.
Machka, I am working on my kitchen, and I have a lot of lids. If there are no matches, they are out. Thanks for your posts; they are very encouraging. I share some with DH. DH posts his vlogs daily on Instagram, Tic Toc, and YouTube. "60 seconds of Hope."
Well Chickies, I am going out to swim, get Rose more bullysticks. I need gas too. I will check in later.

Mo

today is our 32nd anniversary- made it through another year, barely.
He is meeting a friend for lunch, we may go out to dinner this evening. He offered to pick up bbq while he is out with his friend- nice gesture except he knows I don't care for bbq usually.
I will walk the wetlands before picking up my daycare girl. Need to get shoes on and start watering the garden before doing that.
Second load of laundry in the washer- soaking this load as one pair of leggings is stained from when I was at mom's picking tomatoes- neon green streaks on the pants that didn't come out in the first wash.
Cool today- 70 when I go walking. That will be a nice change. Ready for some rain though.

Right? Rebecca.. poor Debby is always getting the short end of the stick..
Honestly I don't know how im going to do on this cruise ..when I need to nap daily ...
I will see the APRN the day before I leave on the cruise..so hopefully she has some wisdom
Will stop in the morning and pick up paperwork and drop off to cremation place tomorrow and then hopefully get some things done around here.4 -
Allie - I always managed an afternoon nap on my cruises, even with a busy schedule. Can't do without it.
I'm going to try for a mile and a half tomorrow. I promised my physio that I would. Not as far as Marrocos, but somewhere in between there and the café for the return journey. Tomorrow is our last day of summer weather. Rain expected for the weekend. My cleaner has been on holiday in Bath, and has had perfect weather this week.
It's Edie's birthday next week. The parents suggested I buy her a triathlon bag, so I've ordered that. Thought that might be a bit boring, so I've ordered some leather luggage labels in a swirly rainbow pattern,so she can identify her navy bag more easily! Also got an Upworthy book, Good People, which I will share with her. (They are on Instagram - inspiring stories)
She will be 11.
Had schoolfriends Zoom this afternoon. I got cross with G. Oops. She doesn't seem to mind. Afterwards I researched wearable heated fleeces for her.
Made delicious Pea Masala for dinner and froze half. Had it with cod, and a few chunky chips (fries).
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Hey kids - Busy day in the end... This was the results of my first run at getting all that fabric sorted and organized:Took a break at 7, got the mowing done and took a shower after, and then another hour or so on fabric. Then a quick trip to Walmart, Aldi and the post office to send off a box to my sis, and the whole day just "poof!" was gone before I knew it. I was literally winding the last 8-yard strip of fabric onto a card when Corey called to say he was on his way home. I had potstickers and he had sausage and leftover stuffing and mashed potatoes.
Very pleased, because I've touched and re-wound them all, so I know not just what I have, but how much of it.Five boxes of scraps, etc., to go through tomorrow, some of which will go on the shelf, but most of which will be sorted into big plastic bags by color and fiber content. If it's less than a yard, it's a scrap, in effect.
Got my heavy duty sewing machine in, but didn't have much time to play with it, so I'll be able to do that tomorrow... no plans other than one load of laundry tomorrow and more clean up and organization.
Nodding out over this, time to get ready to go to bed.
Love,

Hi, ladies. I just wanted to say good night before I hit the sack. I took Rose to daycare at 2 pm. I told the lady this evening that it is nice to do things without getting huffed at. She said she does that at day camp, too. She said Rose was bossy, and that is the truth. So they really know the dog's personality. They had a tiny kitten abandoned by his mom, so the lady had to feed it all day with a small bottle. The other kitties died.:( There was a kitten at my mom's memory care center, and they told me my mom loved it. This one is a Calico cat whose mom also abandoned it. What is going on here with these cats not sticking by their babies?
I spent an hour in the pool doing water aerobics and then laps. Then, I did laundry and discarded things from the kitchen and garage for garbage day.
I worked on my vlog project. As Lisa said, the day went by fast. So I put away my clean, dark clothes and will fold the white towels in the morning. Happy Anniversary, Debbie. Get yourself something nice and charge it on DH's card. You deserve it.
Good night, ladies.

Lisa - it doesn’t seem to have a rhyme nor reason to it for Rodger’s upsets. The first time it happened was a couple of days after Kaitlyn’s wedding, he blamed it on the rich food his mother made while she was here and then drinking at the wedding. Then it happened after Thanksgiving that year. Then it happened every 3-4 months for a few years. This is the first time in close to a year this time and it only lasted a few hours, not days like before. It’s very strange.
Barbara - I have lots we could spend it on, but if I would prefer to spend money on coffees than the cigarettes that he smokes.
Rebecca - he did have an ultrasound and there weren’t any stones showing. My niece (BFF’s daughter)kept having issues for 4 or 5 years, her biological Aunt kept saying that it was her gallbladder. Turned out that her gallbladder had folded over and it could be seen until they did exploratory surgery. The aunt knew because that’s what she suffered through too.
Machka - I don’t think I have any of those 10 things in my kitchen. It’s so small I discard things quite regularly.
Lisa - I would love to use my grandmother’s quilts on my bed but I’m worried about ruining them . You’re right though I should use them. I do have a quilt my great Aunt made on my spare bed along with pillowcases my Mom embroidered.
What a lot of work organizing your fabric.
I have had a couple busy evenings I’ll catch up tomorrow night.

Gratitudes:
Thursday-able to take a pajama day to recover from yesterday’s shopping marathon.
Wednesday- my 2014 Ford Escape. After driving the dealer’s “loaner” I take back everything negative I’ve ever said about “Bossy.”Had to have the service writer show me how to turn the loaner on, had to turn the key REAL HARD ¼ turn past where it wanted to turn. No: power steering, GPS display, external temperature display, touch button trunk closure, backup camera or alerts.I love my car.
Mo, training when you and others in the household are not on the same page is difficult, as pip said, but not impossible. Dogs can sure figure out what they can get away with one, they can’t with another. Nonetheless, dogs are living, independently thinking creatures, not robots. Tumble will always consider “Come!” a suggestion. She’ll get back to you on that later. Mooch will likely always struggle with “Stay!” and impulse control. Shadow is naturally compliant but when she’s barking with her whole body, her ears shut down entirely ;} “London!” How exciting!!!
Michele why can’t Vince walk?
Kim thanks for sharing your “homework.” Didn’t realize hydrangeas were toxic to dogs. Now I’m glad I never got around to buying the vanilla strawberry hydrangea I so admired in Pastor’s wife’s garden. Also glad our dogs leave the one azalea we have alone. Are Rhodies toxic too?
Heather, rejoicing at your back to the beach accomplishment. Your smile says it all. Bravissima!
Rita, please tell Kevin “Thanks!” I never thought to add pickled beets to my green bean/cucumber/onion salad.
Debbie, belated best anniversary wishes, including the continued wish that your DH would treat you better.
Lisa W O W !!! Great job in turning the fabric avalanche into a beautifully sorted/displayed fabric library. What an inspiration!
Tracey, next time Rodger has an attack, could he go to an emergency room when it’s happening? Sometimes that’s the only way to get a diagnosis.
No declutter progress to report so here’s a Mooch story:We’ve been hearing critters gnawing under the house despite the light and radio Joe set up. Tuesday when Joe opened the crawlspace doors to investigate, Mooch and Tumble went in under the house with him and startled out a squirrel. Shadow joined the ensuing chase through the yard, she’s too tall to get under the house. It did not end well for the squirrel. That Moose is fast! This morning, Joe saw Mooch coming out from behind the wood stove. He’d “dug” up the vent cover and was studying the duct intently. Did it again this afternoon. When Joe went under the house again, Mooch followed, and this time dragged out a somewhat dried up carcass of some kind of rodent (Joe didn’t look to closely while disposing of it). We’ve put a plastic bowl of mothballs in the ductwork to try to drive out any “visitors”. Now Mooch is trying to climb the trees to get at the chipmunks. Hoping he will drive them all out from the yard and waaay back into the woods. Good Mooch!
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Morning, my chickens,
Really enjoyed talking to my sis and my daughter yesterday. I seem to have an embarrassment of riches in terms of talking to those I love, both friends and family. Must remember to reach out to my son today. I usually last about a month before I reach out to make sure he's not dead... 😂👀🤷🏻♀️
Heather - I only backed up far enough to see your blood tests, and missed your journey to the beach! Someone mentioned your smile, so I went combing through a couple pages. So pleased for you to be able to have your beach again.
Barbara AHMOD - I always knew I'd become an example for folks, but I thought it might be more on the bad example side of things! 🤔👀😂
So... Corey's in the last throes of his morning routine, just about to head for work. I'm about to make myself one more cup of tea, then drag out five file boxes full of scraps and bits and bobs and see if I can get those into something resembling order as well. Then, I have to decide on whether to keep out my old Brother machine, and if so, where. Having a second one handy can be quite useful; I've had two Brother machines now for six years. Invaluable when you quilt. I do not, however, need three. I may post the third one for sale, it works fine, just not for the heavy pieces I'm making now.
Later, babies,
Love,

Good morning beautiful ladies!
Lisa wow that fabric display looks fabulous! Mine is jumbled in a cardboard box in storage. Mom's is in a pile in the basement.
Barbara Go Mooch!
I finally got the antivirus on Dad's computer. Yay!
Today I need to put henna on my hair so it will look good for my trip, but not be so fresh that it leaks red onto the towels. Or into the pool.
Yesterday I did thirty minutes of yardwork. I trimmed up some branches so Dad can mow. The beds need a total renewal dig. Maybe in spring.
Have a great day! May you be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Debbie ~ I am so sorry that your husband was indifferent to your anniversary. Sounds very self centered and selfish. I do hope he took you out to dinner.
Annie ~ Would love to see a photo of you and your red hair. I bet it's pretty.
Barbara ~ Your dogs are a hoot. Mooch must add so much fun and entertainment to your family.
Went to what I decided would be my last physical therapy treatment on Wed. I think I went to at least 14 treatments and am all over it. The last few times I was told to use their leg press machine and leg curl machine. I really think these were doing more harm than good. I read that these can do harm if not supervised correctly and I think the weights were too much. The therapist was really concerned because of continued swelling, redness, and heat.
But, I think these machines aggravated it. Anyway, I think I can now work on some exercises I learned at home and will heal.
Carol in GA10 -
Oh Carol, I hope things settle down for you. Your instincts are probably right.
I'd promised my physio that I would walk a mile and a half by the time I saw him next, which is Monday. Yesterday's beach trip was 1.2 miles.
So today I set off to walk into Hove. It was hard work. I stopped at a couple of cafés on the way to sit down, and ended up having a very naughty croissant at one of them. It was good though! I arrived at my destination, Canhams, and bought my, still warm, Chilli Scotch Eggs. Really, I had had enough by then, but I was determined to get to Isola Buona, the Sardinian deli, to buy guanciale and pecorino for an authentic Carbonara. Managed to crawl along to there, and had a nice conversation with the very chatty owner. I also bought Coppa, and two focaccia! An expensive expedition!
Caught the bus, and walked the last bit, with difficulty, to home. Arrived absolutely knackered and recovered on the sofa. It was quite a bit over the mile and a half, I think.
Amazing to be able to walk as far as Fatto a Mano now! Even if it does knock me out.
So, I have fulfilled my commitment.
Proud of self.
Then I realised that my phone hadn't charged last night and was very low on battery. It wouldn't charge, and kept saying, 'slow charging'. I changed ports, cables, and sockets - no good. A quick Google and I decided to reboot. That has fixed it for now, but I'm thinking a new phone is in my future!
Lisa - Your fabric 'shop' is incredible! A work of art in itself!
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx recovering from her nap and her phone fright.7 -
Dinner yesterday: Pork and 1/2 cup jasmine rice topped with a little of Kevin’s no sugar sauce. 1/2 cob of corn (really enjoying these are they are fresh) and a large salad of Romain, cucumbers, onions, and a bit of tomato. Orange for desert, banana and peach during the day. I also bought a bowl of cut up veggies my grocery store offers and some of that was used in the salad, and some I used for supper with humus last night. DH says he wants to cook the rest for dinner today, we will see. I bought it to snack on but…. I’ll let you all know tomorrow what ended up happening to the bowl. It has green and red peppers, onions, summer squash, celery, and baby carrots. I think it was supposed to be for stir fry, LOL

Today is a no picture day as my app wouldn’t load. I’ve been having internet issues lately. But there are still reasons to celebrate today:
I also found national respect day.

I'm a little overboard about privacy online. I don't usually post pictures and I don't use my last name unless I have to. Even then I often make up a name. Facebook has Teddy's picture, and I stopped posting. But there's some old stuff. Amazon knows who I am and where I live, of course. And there's an old profile on a dating site. The funny thing is that if you search my real name with my real town, you get someone else with the same name, who isn't so careful.
My browser still collects my interests and my email gets scanned for advertising opportunities. Zoom probably knows what I look like. But I try to maintain a little privacy. These days it is just a habit. I used to change my email every year or so, but at least I don't do that anymore.
So you will just have to imagine my dark red hair, straight and thin and down to my waist. It's my last conceit.

Debbie--Happy Anniversary.
Lisa--WOW!! Great job and now you can see what you have without sorting through it all.
I am do glad it is Friday. I have a 3 day weekend as Monday I have several doctor appointments.
Training new person today and so far it is going very well.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE6 -
Good Morning! Two days ago, I had a lot of labs drawn. A young lady asked me if I was having a great morning. I told her that I spent it in the clinic, but I was having a great morning nonetheless. She asked why, and I told her it was because I woke up. I had a great week because I got to do the exercises I love. It is such an empowering feeling. Heather smiling at the beach made my week. As far as organizing, I threw away quite a bit. I threw away the cover-up I wore to the pool when I was done. It had bleach stains, and it was way too big.
Machka, as far as the kitchen, I threw away a lot. I have a lot more to do. Next week, I will focus on that and my bedroom. I want to pack up what I want to keep that I am not using, but everyone is coming home for Christmas, so I will have to wait. I need the kitchen re-hauled; I asked DH if we want to redo the kitchen before selling. I know we have a plumbing issue as well. Until then, I must move things out of the damaged cabinets. So, for now, I will try to organize my kitchen office cabinet, pack those things up, and move stuff in there. Maybe some things in the pantry can get thrown out or boxed for the yard sale for now.
Lisa, your quilt fabric looks like a store display. You are working pretty hard, and it has paid off. I can't believe how much energy you have. You even mowed the lawn.
Barbara, Mooch is a powerhouse. Rose hunts for birds, and I have to save them. One year, she had a vast collection of turtles, and I had to save them, too. She even hunts lizards. I take her to people's houses who have a great fear of getting out of the house. Rose may try, but I have never seen her catch a squirrel.
Rita, the food looks excellent, and it is working.
Annie, I am with Carol. I want to see the red hair, too, and I am curious about how long it lasts.
Carol, I wish my therapist Rachel could work with you. She makes sure you are okay and does therapy in the pool to decrease stress on your joints. I would listen to your body and look up the kind of therapy you need. I did, and it worked with my hand. Let them know it isn't working for you and causing more discomfort than helping.
Tracy, you have wonderful children who appreciate you. What a blessing.
Pip, I will donate more because I believe in the cause, and you deserve Jersey!
Heather, your walk reminds me of going to the mall to walk. I ended up shopping after it opened, so it was expensive for me too. This is good for you. You are getting out and making memories.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. If work isn't too busy, I will try to keep up here and there. Until then, ladies, stay safe.
XO,
Monique

I just need to pick a place- and tell him. Once in a while I will or tell him no to where he suggests. Many times I just don't care. He likes eating out all the time and I prefer just eating at home most of the time.
Dinner was fine- I ended up taking more than half home
I got the bento- came with salad and miso soup- picked three items(I wanted the two item but that is only available at lunch) katsu fish, katsu oysters and mixed tempura.
Dh got a seafood soup. We did order a spicy tuna rice bowl for son to go.
I ate about half of mine and brought the rest home. I tried his soup, was ok but not something I would order myself.
Heading out to walk MIL's dog, will walk the wetlands this afternoon. no aqua tonight
