    TMI, but I'm about to ovulate (:wink:) and my weight always fluctuates up around that time (the joys of womanhood).
    Plus I had an insanely fiberiffic week so.. um... I'm also retaining some whatnot weight.
    Anyway, I'm happy with 192.2, especially considering where I started on Monday (think 196-197 thanks to 5 meals of pizza over the weekend).

    Calories: 1604 (goal 1720) Deficit of around 600.
    Exercise: 40 minutes of walking OUTSIDE despite it being 93*F when I went out. Turns out 93*F feels pretty damn good after the spring & summer we've had here (see post above :laugh:). Anyway, challenge 75% complete!
    Water: 11 cups
    Proud: I'm proud I challenged the group & myself to do something I've really been struggling with lately and that I'm actually rising to the challenge. Planning to take my broken boy (one of my dogs that broke both of his front legs last year) for a walk by the canal this evening. I expect him to do well for about 15-20 minutes & then I expect to have to carry him the rest of the time. He only weighs about 14 pounds but it'll be a good workout. Plus I'll be happy for him to get some extra rehab/exercise. I'm excited & hope to start taking him twice a week or so if the weather ever cools down.

    Deb: Your weigh in rocks my socks! You're on a roll! My fingers are crossed that you & hubby get prequalified. Buying a home sure is nervewracking! I've done it twice and I am NOT looking forward to a 3rd time (though I am looking forward to moving the eff out of the hottest city in the Southeast! Yep, I'm stuck on this because it blows my mind. Seriously? Hotter than anywhere in Florida? Hotter than New Orleans? That's just stupid!).

    Lauren: Oh beer. Suffice it to say I know, from experience, how you feel about "getting your money's worth" at beer festivals. :embarassed: Also, hubby finally took the plunge from talking into doing and we have our (and by "we have our" I, of course, mean "he has his") first homebrew bottled & carbonating. :bigsmile:

    Allison: Awesome job this week! I'm so impressed with your C25K progress! And I'm inspired! I want to go back through it with faster running speeds. The first time I got through it, I was happy to get through a 30 minute "run" at 4mph (and 4mph is actually quite a jog for me because I have really short legs). Now I can pretty much run forever at 4mph so I want to go back through at 6mph. Actually completing a 5k in like 32 minutes would be amazing!

    Laila: I am SURE your muscles are retaining water! All those squats in the Shred really get your quads fired up. Great job on the loss this week despite that!

    Julie - I honestly think some of the weight loss I experienced this week was from losing a lot of that "whatnot". :laugh:

    Congrats to everyone who lost - it's always so exciting to see everyone doing well. I did okay yesterday...woke up with a migraine and bailed on my usual workout in order to take some meds and sleep. The problem with that is that the meds make me so desperately dehydrated that I couldn't get enough water in me to really counteract some of the sodium I ate. I am still so freaking thirsty from them!!! I was over on fat but just barely under on cals.

    Gearing up for my class trip next week. Starting to worry about having time to exercise and little ability to control my food. I've decided to bring a lot of healthy snacks with me and I did talk to my prof about my inability to eat a lot of fat, so she said they'd work that into our pit stops and stuff. I really REALLY want to make that 250 in two weeks, but it's really dependent (I think) on doing well next week, which will be tricky.

    Morning ladies!

    No loss for me this week, but considering on Monday the scale said 227 and now it's back down to 223, I will take it! Good motivation for next week. The boyfriend and I are heading up to the very top of Wisconsin (yay for sweatshirt weather!) this weekend, so I'm going to attempt to behave myself (there's a small microbrewery not too far from where we're staying).

    I LOST I LOST I LOST I LOST!!!! I almost hugged my scale this morning!!! I think my last official weigh in with everybody was 211.2 so I get to participate this week!!!

    I failed big time on the challenge this week!! The only exercise I got last night was helping Mike move my stuff...well..what he would let me help with moving. Yeah..apparentley he's one of "those" guys. Kept telling me not to lift heavy stuff. So I carried light stuff like a GIRL until I got sick of standing around cause there was nothing left "light"...so I picked up the microwave and carried it downstairs..his response "dang country girls so stubborn...she's got more hormones then tyson chicken" yep...apparentley I'm a redneck country girl to that guy. Oh well! And he said I'm stronger then I look when I helped move the washer and dryer out of his truck at my parents house. Just cause I'm fat doesn't mean I'm not buff..thank you..figure you ladies might get a chuckle out of that!

    POS-Great job on running outside! I'm sure you are definitely retaining some water after your intense week working out! A day off and I bet you will see some major loss!

    Momma-I love your outlook on raising Ryan. Just makes me smile! Keep up your hard work. Your an amazing woman and mother!

    Lauren-Talk about a rock in a hard place? If it was expensive I would want to get my moneys worth too!

    Deb-Crossing my fingers you get an answer today!! How was Babes?! Did you love it?

    Babe's was good...I had the chicken strips..a couple bread, and potatoets and corn...I am sure i was over but probably maintain level.

    Just have to say i really am annoyed by our new employee...he has been here maybe a month...he makes sure and points out whatever i am not doing..and i mean i am working on stuff, we send it to testers...or something in the past or anything...or if i say something he just acts like he is all and mighty...i mean he is the low man on the todem pole...i have been here for 3 years...SHUT UP...

    I'm not sure I will be able to stay away from the brewery... I'll just have to behave when I get there. Perhaps I can get a good hike in during the day for some exercise.

  • Jess - CONGRATS!!!!!!! YOU FINALLY LOST AGAIN!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you and you must be totally thrilled. I just know that you'll see a 20# next week. Keep up the good work! I hit the 250s last week (just barely - I was at 259.9 LOL) but am down to 257.5 today. :smile: Thanks for the encouragement!

    Julie - thanks for the encouragement and kind words about the C25K. I still can't believe I can do a 25 minute, 1.5 mile run. I mean, I'm still 257 pounds huffing and puffing through each workout. BUT, 3 months ago I could barely get through 9 minutes of spaced out running, so it is very very exciting. I think that once I get through week 9, I'm going to redo some of the weeks for speed before moving on to the Bridge to 10K.


    Spending the afternoon grading undergrad exams....good times! Got in another 25 minute jog this morning (week 7, day 1!) and had an appointment with my counselor/therapist. He's so amazing and has helped me with everything - he commented today that my face was noticeably thinner. And I did measurements for the first time since joining the site: down 3 - 4 inches just about everywhere, which seems incredible.

    Keep up the good work ladies!

    Allison - I love that you are KILLING C25K. Super impressive and inspiring. Oh and I signed up for the Coney Island Turkey Trot in November. I think we're running around the boardwalk.

    Y'all....I am an eating machine today. I'm feeling kind of crappy and I'm medicating w/food. I had a deli muffin for breakfast (at least 400 cals) and a slice (just one!) of cheese pizza for lunch. I'm having one of those "I'm eating whatever I want" kind of days. I'm tracking it all and I know it's not great, but sometimes you just need one of those days.

    It's gorgeous out, so perhaps I'll get in a nice walk after work....burn off some these cals I'm stuffing in my face AND get 25% closer to Julie's challenge for the week.

    Momma(forgot your first name!): I'm glad you're feeling better about Ryan is doing in school. He'll get there! Look how much progress he's made so far! You're both amazing!

    Laila: Great job on the workouts and I think it's awesome that your son ran with you. Glad he's okay!

    Julie: We got a TON of rain the last few days, with 11 inches in just a few hours in a few areas. One town is pretty much completely flooded right now and it's not far from where I used to work! However, our temps are in the low 50s right now.

    Teresa: Have a great time in Ellison Bay. I just looked it up and I see that it's where I wanted to go when we were over in the Escanaba, MI area a few weekends ago. We ended up going to the top of WI (Hurley, WI) instead to head home. I bet the foliage is starting to head toward peak over there, so it should be beautiful!

    Jess: Great job being a loser! Sorry, couldn't resist. I love your stories about the guys you date. If you're a country bumpkin then so am I because we have a whole lot in common. I'm absolutely amazed at how hard my arm muscles have gotten, even though they're covered by a layer of fat. I really hope ChaLean will make them show! Are you still hyped about starting Insanity? Make sure you take your before pics!!

    So, my weight this morning was 188.0 but it was 185.0 yesterday. What gives? I'm seriously fluctuation 3 lbs every other day. Literally. Going forward, I know I can't get upset with the scale because I know the numbers will be weird for a while with starting a weight lifting program. I'm going to have to start relying on the measurements and how my jeans fit. I'd still like to see 150 someday, but if I hit a TONED 160 or a size 8 (or 6?) jean, I'd also be thrilled. I really don't know what to expect with the new program, but I'm excited to see what happens. It should at least ramp up my metabolism since I've done very little with weights EVER.

    Checking in for yesterday:
    Calories: Over by 532, but should even out the huge deficits I had the past week.
    Sodium: Over by a LOT, but drank lots of water all week.
    Water: 89.8 oz.
    Exercise: None, except laughing watching Tosh.0 for three hours.
    Proud: Made stuffed pepper soup for dinner last night, which means the bf and I ate at home two nights in a row when we typically eat out. It's all about the small changes!

    Last night bf made the decision to do ChaLean Extreme with me, though he'll probably start Monday or Tuesday instead of Sunday. Last night, I told him, "Don't let me forget my weights." He says, "They're already in the truck of your car." Yep, he put them in my car while I was in the shower, knowing I'd forget them if left on my own. I LOVE that he takes care of me! I always thought I was so independent and wouldn't "need" anyone...but I love having someone take care of me! Okay, had to brag about my totally awesome boyfriend...again.

    Heather- I am still pumped to start Insanity! I gotta have someone take my before pics for me. I don't consider myself as country and "redneck" as he thinks I am. I mean lets face it, yes I am country ..but not THAT country. He is just a city boy...likes rap music..yeah..and it's okay you can call me a loser this week because I FINALLY am one! I'm with you on can't let the fluxuations get ya down. I feel like the first 3 weeks I'm going to be seeing a lot of that. I would be completely happy if I just toned up more espeically in the arms and stomach..So here's to starting a new program! :drinker:
