Back for my update! Couldn't go to work without saying SOMETHING! haha Y'all are going to need to "intervene" on me one of these days. Either that or my boyfriend will...:noway:
Tara - Thanks for the tips! I'm definitely planning on wearing trashed up clothes for the run - nothing I can't live without And I'm not stressing about time. I'll finish with a smile and that's all that counts! Winning races is just not in my blood (or my legs, or anywhere else in my body...way too slow for that! hehe) Just want to have a great time and it will be such a wonderful excuse to meet all these lovely ladies  Amazing weight-loss results and so close to your goal already, with 9 more days to go before the 25th! Awesome job :drinker: You should be really proud, Tara!
Skip - I've heard really good things about Mizunos! Thanks for the added advice I am definitely going to try and get fitted somewhere. I just want to make sure the person that fits me is in some way qualified to do so and isn't just trying to make commission... I'm such a cynic sometimes with these things. Great run today - Sounds like an AWESOME workout!
Seripha - I used to get the same thing ALL the time when I worked at the University of Western Ontario. I was very young at the time (I started Uni early and so I am young doing just about everything in life) and I had a lot of trouble getting the respect of my students and co-workers... It's a tough road for sure, especially in the old boys club that is academia. Best of luck keeping your cool - assert yourself and hold your head high. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get where you are and no one can take that away from you
Jill - I won't be splurging at all, hopefully. I plan on getting a good pair but I am hoping to find some on sale, either online, in the States or at a local running store. I shop around a lot before I buy for big ticket items and I will definitely be trying on a lot of pairs before I commit to anything. I'm going to see about having a gait assessment but it seems like what they do is just have the retail clerk at the running store watch you walk/jog and then take a look at your sole to see how they wear... Seems pretty rudimentary and I really don't think that's justification to buy a $160 pair of shoes. What qualifies the $12/hour wage worker at the Running Room exactly? I don't mean to sound rude, but I just don't see the benefit and I highly doubt the store is willing to guarantee anything based on that kind of assessment. I know someone that works at the Running Room and I also know that he has a Bachelors degree in Communications.... Leads me to believe that there is very little technical skill involved. Just saying.
Good luck at your holiday parties - I know they are awful, you hate your co-workers and boss, and don't want to eat their sh*tty food but just try to make the best of it and make it to the weekend! Don't let the stress overwhelm you, Jill!! Get home, get some good family time and lots of hugs, and you'll feel a million times better!
Aly - Very good luck with the new video/weights routine! I hope it works for you and you start seeing the results you want. I know it's been tough the last few months, but just keep chipping away. You'll get there.
Quick update on me - Ran 3 miles of speed intervals today, but nothing near as impressive as Melissa or Skip Total 3.75 miles covered with warm up and cool down. Was sweating like a mad-woman all over the treadmill and folks at the gym were staring wided-eyed at me. I always look like such a maniac at the gym because I leave everything I've got on the treadmill, including about 2 quarts of sweat. Gross! Ah well - All in the name of fitness! Push-ups SUCKED today and my arms are killing me. Decent food day. Treated myself to frozen yogurt since it was my dad's birthday, within my cals but wayyyy over on sugar (not that I count it...) - Tomorrow's my new WI day (from last Fri, before my birthday) and I'm hoping to maintain! Fingers crossed!!
Wish I could write more... there is still loads more to respond to! But work calls and I'm totally not ready yet... Later all!
Meag0 -
bump! can i still join this group/challenge - or at least for next year? i'll come back to this and come up with a goal.0
-
Meag- Thanks! I am going to try the video this weekend possibly or maybe monday still deciding. BTW The recipe you gave me was awesome! my boyfriend and I loved the banana with curry flavor sooo good!
AFM- Just did a nice 45 minute swim, turned out to be 1800 yards, I didn't even want to do it but I am glad that I did. I feel good! Lets hope I can wake up at 5 tomorrow for spin class0 -
Ummm I dropped 2.4 pounds this week?!?!?!?!?! On maintenance nonetheless. I wasn't supposed to weigh-in until the 20th, but family Christmas party on the 19th (I know my sodium will be off the charts) and so I decided to weigh-in today.
Holy crap. I never lost 2.4 pounds in one week while trying to lose. Well at least this way I have a better "cushion" for Christmas. I was going to try and get into the 110s next year after Christmas. Guess no trying required now:drinker:0 -
Had a horrible afternoon yesterday emotionally!! One of my closest friends at school (my teaching partner) decided at lunch yesterday (in front of 4 other coworkers) to tell me that I was "obsessed" yep that is the word she chose to use with losing weight and it was getting ridiculous...REALLY???? me changing my lifestyle to become healthier is ridiculous? WELL CALL ME MRS. RIDICULOUS then! I was very offended because she is quite thin herself and a runner so I figured out of everyone she would understand...I changed my life for ME and for NOBODY else! For her to assume that I have done anything to hurt myself or my body (not eating or worrying about weight or taking pills) well that just makes me furious! She said she is just "worried" well worried would be talking to me in private would have been a better approach! I know I shouldn't let it bother me and I haven't let other comments bother me so why does this one????
Oh and pretty much done running outside until EVERYTHING melts!!! Trued to take a break from the tread last night and made an attempt to run outside...BIG mistake!!! Slipped and fell at the end of our block thankfully nothing was hurt...except my pride0 -
Morning!!
I'm so excited about the Warrior Dash. This will be my first race, unless I end up doing something before Aug. Anway, I haven't registered yet since the site isn't opening up properly on my system at work. Will do it once I get home. My hubby's also agreed to go for it....I'm jumping with joy0 -
Took a quick picture of my race shirt on my Blackberry last night...

Morning folks...
Well, I'm feeling good today but I am burnt out and struggling to be chipper. I am just total void of energy! But I am happy, so that's all that matters. Work last night was beyond horrible. It was well into the -10s (not quite sure the exact temp) and I work practically outside (right at a door, essentially). But that's only the beginning. The nightclub was full with macho idiots last night and a major brawl (race-related, not to mention :frown:) broke out at the bar. This resulted in broken glass and a number of being being cut/stabbed and beat unconscious. I know this is totally unrelated to the forum topic, but I just find that my job sometimes can really get me into a funk. I was really feeling it last night. This sort of thing happens nearly every weekend... My parents raised me in an environment where racial hatred, violence and bigotry were absolutely NOT tolerated, but at the nightclub it seems par for the course. Even many of the people that are supposed to be securing the bar (the other bouncers) make incredibly racist, homophobic, and misogynist comments regularly - I am really not accustomed to this and I just can't understand the whole "solve-my-problems-by-smashing-someone's-face-in-with-my-steel-toed-boot" mentality. Really makes me wonder how people can be so horrendous to one another :ohwell:
The other aggravation is constantly dealing with macho *kitten* men that value women based on their physical appearance. I can't tell you how many times another bouncer or patron has said something along the lines of "God, that chick is *fat*. There's no way I'd *kitten* her" or something equally repulsive and offensive, as if I care at all or want to hear it. Most people don't know that I used to be ~40lbs overweight, so these comments offend me even more than the average person... Coupled with having to see all kinds of size 0, 8% body-fat 19 year-old women prancing around in skimpy outfits, with no consideration for what they put into their bodies, I find it trying some nights, to say the least.
End rant. Thanks for listening to me b*tch It's Friday which means it's my DAY OFF and I'm taking a rest day instead of doing my 3rd day of weights today. I just can't do it - My body is *sore* and I have to work Sat and Sun night. In addition, I'll be long-running on Sun - last one before my 10 mile and I am starting to get nervous! But very excited. I know my body is going to be scream "WTF were you thinking!?!?" for most of the run, and afterward, but once I finish I am going to feel incredible and I'll be so proud of my accomplishments that it won't matter one bit! This year has really been a great one - possibly the best yet - and I am so thrilled to see what the new year brings!
Jill - What a sweet shirt! And I love the red - I wish I could get one too! Wonder if they sell them online... Would be a great running shirt for me since I *always* run in red! And nice loss btw - Love the extra Xmas Cushion! haha
Spell - Love that you are doing the Warrior Dash too! We're going to have a Kickinig *kitten* In Out Twenties contingency! :drinker: We should make bandannas or something to wear around our upper arms to designate our *team* status! I am getting crazy exciting already! It's like that skit from SNL with Kristen Wiig, where she can't contain herself and ends up blurting out all the surprises... That's how I feel inside! hahaha Glad your hubby will be joining us too - My boy will be there too so it'll be nice to have another man around for his sake!
Melissa - Brutal! I've dealt with the same sort of comments in the recent past... It really does make you feel like you're going to explode! I am actually quite surprised with how frustrated and angry I get at such comments. It seems like all your hard work is being ignored and that people assume you can't lose weight and get healthy without starving yourself - like you don't have the discipline and commitment to do it right. It's also frustrating when you are really making an effort to be healthy in every facet of your life and then you're accused of the opposite... It's even worse when it is someone that you are close to, or someone you expect will support your decisions. I feel your pain, girl. You are not alone! Just be assertive and explain that her comments are really out of line and make you feel unsupported. Tell her that your weight is your business and yours alone and that making it public discourse will not be tolerated. It's really worth it to have that conversation - even if it's uncomfortable - because I think that people really don't understand how infuriating their "concern" actually is :ohwell: Good luck dealing with a sh*tty situation, Melissa <<hugs>> Hope your day looks up today! And sorry to hear about the spill - Glad you didn't hurt yourself!
Aly - Glad you guys liked it!! and good luck with your strength video - Let us know how it goes!bump! can i still join this group/challenge - or at least for next year? i'll come back to this and come up with a goal.
OK Off to get some stuff crossed off the To Do list again... Seems to be growing by the day! Have a great Friday everyone
Meag
EDIT! Forgot to mention - I lost 0.2lbs this week and was only hoping to maintain, so WIN! And it means I'm currently 129.9lbs!!! WOOT! :drinker:  :drinker:0 -
Jill- Super cute shirt! BTW I tried NMTZ this morning and did 30 minutes, it kicked my butt! I need the 3 lb weights tho, I was using 5 and it was really tough.
Melissa- I am sorry that someone you thought you trusted to understand things ended up doing that to you. The only thing you can do is just remember they are only doing it because they are feeling guilty or ashamed of themselves and are taking it out on you. Remember you have a great support system here We all think you are doing great.
AFM- I woke up this morning late for spin class, I didn't get home from my swim last night until almost 9, I should have known that waking up at 5 would be rough. I did get up and got in a half our of Jillian Michaels no more trouble zones. If I do that a few times a week I know I will see success! Today is the work party/breakfast. I made sure to not eat alot at home so I could splurge this morning. I also got in a workout to make up for it. I am going to try to track or write down everything I eat at the luncheon today but I am letting myself relax. I lost another .1 since yesterday so the trend is looking good I am soo glad I picked sushi for our anniversary dinner since it will be lavish but still healthy. I have bike/run training tomorrow in the rain so I have to go buy a fitness rain jacket tonight... the boy told me to hold off on buying fitness stuff until xmas...... hmmm hehe very exciting stuff! Have a great day everyone0 -
Hey all... sorry I have been MIA. Will try to catch up with responses tomorrow. I have been able to at least get on and update food, exercise, and read all of your posts.
Feel pretty darn good about my week so far.
Got my walk/run in two times- going to try and go one more day this weekend
And got both of my lifting days in!
And thanks to the fiance tried one new healthy recipe for the week. So pretty much all was accomplished
Happy Friday everyone!!!0 -
So I weighed in at 176! Yay! Have a great weekend!0
-
Meag - I love it too! Packed it to bring along with me out of town for the weekend! Not sure if you can get one (and it'll probably cost too much to get it sent to you) but the running club does have a store and a guy to contact about clothing - info is here: http://xenia.unh.edu/WCRC/Colors.htm I despise people that have no tolerance for people being different. I wasn't raised to be hateful either - but I have a very large family with a bit of diversity (considering we're Irish Catholic) - I have a male cousin who's gay, a female cousin who's gay (and married) and a cousin who's 1/2 black. We were all raised like there were no differences and no one everyone treated anybody differently...as it should be! GAH! I hope you find a new job soon - that sounds rough/dangerous Oh and re: shoes, not all running stores have well qualified people to assess. Both of the places I've gone to have runners that seem to know quite a bit and seem to be there because they enjoy it and not because they need a minimum wage job! I would say try to find someplace stateside if you can! If they "misdiagnose" you for your shoes/gait, most stores will let you return/exchange them. I haven't had that issue but I remember seeing it on MFP Runner's Club and have seen it on other running forums!
Finn - Well done! Hope you have a great weekend!
Skip - It could be anything I wanted. I made these: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/tomato_basil_skewers.html and they ended up being devoured. I needed something fast and easy They were delicious to snack on last night when I was making them too - ate them instead of my usual post-dinner dessert!
Melissa, wow your "friend" really sucks. I don't know if this makes you feel any better, but one of the guys I work with told me at the work potluck that I looked like I was the type to binge/purge because I was "all skin and bones". I didn't hesitate to tell him that I work my *kitten* of running and working out and that I earn whatever food I eat. Oh and I think you need to confront your "friend" and tell her that she hurt your feelings and you thought she had your back and that you'd never call her out like that in front of other co-workers. Make her feel bad for treating you like that:huh:
Aly, yeah 5 pounds will kick your *kitten*. I started with 3, but upped it to 5 because I want to "show" Jillian - I wanted to use 5s because she uses 3s pretty much! I need 8s now! WOO! It's a good workout and I drag my feet to do it sometimes, but am always glad I stick with it! Well done!
Work potluck went well for me. Munched on some cucumbers/broccoli/red peppers, had 1 piece of a homemade California roll, a tiny tiny roast beef and swiss roll-up, small amounts of pasta with meat sauce and fettucine alfredo, had one of my tomato/basil/mozzarella skewers, some Oreo trifle and a small chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing. Probably could have done without the cupcake, but I feel satisfied and not guilty and I didn't eat anything greasy (my stomach can't handle greasy anymore). I also found out that my boss is out of town on a planned trip and didn't tell me he'd be out. I requested the 23rd off and of course he won't be back in the office until Monday and never approved/denied my request. He did this to me for Thanksgiving too...I might go above his head and get it approved...or just make plans and tell him that they're non-negotiable:devil:
Workout-wise, took today off. Woke up to a major Charley Horse this morning that still has my ankle throbbing and a cat vomiting all over my duvet:ohwell: By the time I could walk/had cleaned up the vomit it was 4:45 and I was exhausted (and in pain)...long run tomorrow so I decided to take today off. Heading out of town for the weekend...long run tomorrow (and my first haircut since August...EEK!) and shorter run and strength (if I have time) on Sunday before the family party! I'm really indulging on Sunday and not recording anything after 12PM in my food diary. I might even have a drink for the first time since August!
Happy weekend everyone!!!0 -
Happy Friday all!!
Rachel - I declined my mother's invitation to go through my grandmother's clothes. But made a deal that I would do it Saturday if she would watch my kid's so that the boy could take me out for my birthday. Luckily she agreed. I struggle with consuming all of my water too. Some days it just tastes so good and other days I am forcing myself to take a sip. Either way, I try to make sure I at least bring it with me wherever I go so that I can never say that I didn't have any with me. And have fun on your date!! You might just have to jump the hubby again once you get home!!
Roo - the day wasn't amazing but ended my birthday with my boy by my side so I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Aly - with everything you do, I can understand why you're in an exhausted spell. I hope you and the bf have a great anniversary! Happy 5th!! And it seems to me that you're back on track so great job!! :drinker:
Jill - I think you wore me out just reading all of the things that you need to get done. I have always wanted to do New Year's Eve in Times Square. Hope you have a great time. And great loss...without the effort even!! :drinker:
Melissa - sorry to hear that someone you thought you could honestly confide in turned on you and didn't even think about your best interest. Its especially unfortunate that she called you out in front of everyone. I love how simply making lifestyle changes so that we have a healthier future automatically takes on a negative connotation. I hope things get better!
Meag - I give you credit for having to put up with that on a regular basis at work.:explode: I think you have more paitence than I do!! I have worked in a male dominated industry for almost 8 years and believe that by being exposed to "man talk" for so long, I have become desensitized as a female. I don't get offended by their crude humor or their dirty jokes. I think I have finally gotten to the point where I can keep it at work and still be a lady at home. Hopefully the job interview on the 11th goes great!! I am sending positive thoughts your way!! And I have come to the conclusion that people assume we are starving ourselves because we no longer indulge in fatty foods but have found new tastes with fresher food and because we no longer partake in their super sized portions. My mom made a comment yesterday when she was talking about making dinner for my birthday...she said that I never eat what she makes anymore. Never asked if we could make the changes together or why I don't eat her food. She was just bitter. I knew it would come to that eventually. I am looking forward to getting my meal plan together so that I can make my own meals and no longer need to depend on them for meals.
Cait - congrats on your great week!! They always seem to go smoother when we have a better attitude about it. And what recipe did you end up trying?? :bigsmile:0 -
CapnJim-congrats and good luck on the job!
Meag-thanks for the compliments! and i am SOOOOO jealous of all of you that get to meet and do a run togethor! that is so cool!
Jill-congrats on the loss!! guess your body is trying to tell you that IT wants the 110's too!!
Melissa-sorry to hear about your experience at work!!! I hate when things like this happen! and i hate when people think that its impossible to lose weight the right way!! just keep on ignoring her comments...and if she feels it neccessary to embarrass you in front of others again...maybe take her aside and have a heart to heart with her! good luck!
Spell-great job taking that step and signing up for the race! and bonus getting hubby to do it too!
Cait-great job as ususal getting your goals checked off!! you are most definately one of the most determined people that i know on here
Laura-congrats on the loss for you! you are doing great
AFM- not much of a update for right now! i am very excited to be 0.8lbs from my x-mas goal, and to be more than half way done with my December goal...I am actually on track to hit my goal this month! i am also 2lbs away from my lowest adult weight and at a total of 65.2 lbs lost! woohoo!! getting workouts in is getting easier too! so all in all...its been a great month so far!0 -
Took a quick picture of my race shirt on my Blackberry last night...
I LOVE THE SHIRT!! -- im jealous.. im a bit of a tee shirt junkie..
I haven't posted anything this earlier this week.. there just has been too much drama at work which always carries over into home. I have been tracking everything .. even those i wasn't to proud of what i was tracking.. i didnt head too far of course, but the here and there slip ups can really slow things down.. i was bad at lunch today.. buffalo wild wings.. used most of my calories but my husband gave me a gift card and suggested i go today to cheer myself up.. that didnt work out as planned. I am hoping to get back on track tommorow, but i have to celebrate xmas with my sister in law .. so wish me luck. sorry can't really reply , im out of time.. but much love to you melissa! i feel your pain.0 -
oh quick note i lost 0.5 lbs this week. not much but still something right ?0
-
Jill - I love that shirt! So cute. Hope you enjoy your splurge day on Sunday!

Took a quick picture of my race shirt on my Blackberry last night...
Love it!!!0 -
This is why I am on this website!!!! THANK YOU to all the positive comments!!! It was needed and very much appreciated! I ended up having a talk with my friend and come to find out that she was worried about how fast I had lost the weight and how she felt it was consuming my life...she confided in me that she had an issue a few years ago where that is ALL she thought about was her weight and what she ate and it became a problem. So all in all she was looking out for me but I did tell her that the manner in which she delivered the conversation was very harsh and she agreed and apologized...so things are good with her...she is a good friend and would have HATED for this to end our friendship!
Last 2 days haven't been the greatest...potluck at lunch 2 days in a row, classroom party yesterday, and had a few drinks to say goodbye to another co-worker after work (then had a cheeseburger and small fry from McD's). I'm ok with that though because I know that 1 or 2 days doesn't mean I'm a failure!
2 weeks off so plenty of time to get the running in!
how awesome for all of you signing up for the dash!!!! I'll be checking out the site for pics of all of you kick *kitten* women!!!0 -
Melissa - I'm definitely feeling the "not the greatest past 2 days" right now... Fri/Sat are always hard for me. Between plans with the boy, family complications, and now birthdays/holiday stuff (even when you don't celebrate Xmas, the season is still a great excuse to eat out etc). Splurged last night but would have been under my cals if I had actually worked out as planned. Unfortunately my body is saying "SLOWWW DOWN!!!' and so while my mind wants me to go a mile a min, I need to just listen to my body occasionally and take a day off. I know it won't kill me!
I'm really glad to hear you talked things out with your friend  It's unfortunately when rifts like this get in the way of otherwise positive and supportive friendships. It's nice that you were honest with her about how you felt and she understood. Yay!
Very very excited about the Dash with all this talk of it... Signed the boy up yesterday and we're all set! ROO -- Hope you can come, but if you're planning on going to LA definitely do that instead  Sounds great! But we would love to have you as well! How far is it from where you live? Could you drive there and back in one long day, on race day, since we're racing at 3pm?
ngoat - great loss!!
Ack no more time - boy's up and awake. Should be going out of town for a few hours today to do some more urban exploring  Love walking around and doing that sort of thing without a plan! Work again tonight at 11pm... Should be fun :ohwell: Another long one! Hope everyone has a great day!
Meag0 -
hey all! just checkin in! i lost another 1.6lbs this week officially bringing my total weight loss to over 30lbs! woo hoo! sooo excited! i'm glad to see all my hard work is paying off. such a great feeling! i only have 1.2lbs to go to make my original december goal (or 4.2lbs for my ultimate). with 2 december weigh-ins left, i know i can handle losing 1.2lbs even with the holidays! i probably won't make my ultimate goal of 35lbs lost this month, but i knew that was really pushing it anyway and i couldn't be happier with the results i have been getting! i am going to try for a 3lb loss in the next two weeks though, since i've been averaging 1.5lbs a week for a while now. if i don't check in with you before then, i hope everyone has a merry christmas!!

Go for it Melissa!!! 10 MILES! You can do it :drinker:  :drinker:
Long, late night at work. Nightclub was WAY packed (to capacity, basically) and we were swamped with fights. Great. Didn't get out of there until well after my shift actually finished and wasn't in bed til 5am. Up at 10;30am for my long run. Lots to do today and not enough hours in the day. Working again tonight for some event at 8pm... Expecting a ton of trouble. Should be fun :indifferent:
Food has been so-so this weekend... I have eaten really healthy except for my splurge on Friday with a late-night donut with my coffee (seriously, I never would have picked this as my "treat meal" or "cheat day" item but it was placed in front of me and looked so delicious!) and dinner last night. On account of the AMAZING, DELICIOUS Indian food we had + dessert, I didn't snack at all at work last night :noway: which is a first. I am sure that dinner was loaded with oil and ghee and whatever else, and super high cal, but hopefully it won't wreck the whole week. I tried to be somewhat good about what I ate, but definitely tried everything and enjoyed my dinner out. I even had homemade pistachio ice cream for dessert (shared one, thankfully )
Long run on the agenda today, but a shorter long run than usual. I am going to run my 10k race course again, at least partly, to see how I fare. It's been 1.5 months and my distance and endurance has improved drastically, so I am expecting it to feel much different. Unfortunately there's snow cover and ice so my time will be not so great and my phone needs a new SIM card, so I won't be able to track my run/pace/etc on my RunKeeper app for the first time since Sept - which makes me incredibly frustrated. Oh well!:ohwell: After my 10k run I am going to come back here, experiment with homemade taco seasoning for a while, possibly get a drop-in visit from the boy and then head out to the mall to fix the phone. Exciting day planned! hahaha
Tara - great job sticking to your goals, girl. You are doing amazing this month! Wish we could all have your results!!
Amy - Amazing commitment !! You have come so far already - Keep at it!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday :drinker: I'll catch up later. Y'all better still be posting!

Well...not exactly 10 miles like I was hoping. But I did run outside which I didn't think I would do until it thawed outside. Unfortunately I was more concerned about not falling then my pace or my form. Got a side stich about 2 miles in that I couldn't get rid of and I need to make sure I have eaten enough to fuel my run! Made it 3.3 miles in 33 minutes so not too bad. Going to run outside on the treadmill tomorrow!
I'll be checking in with you all later!0 -
Hey all-
Sorry for being a bit MIA this week/end. I maintained, pretty much exactly (152.4) this week which isn't a big deal and proly due to the amount of over processed food I've consumed this week. It was late in the week, and my system def takes longer to completely digest that kind of stuff-- i usually end up with a few days of pseudo weight. While I was expecting it, it still kind of put me in a mini funk, so I really just needed a couple days of mellow, focusing on my food and planning out my week. Just recentering really. Anyway, I don't feel bad, because I've already done really well this month (if I lose 1 lb this week and next week, I still will hit my "big" goal for December) but I just wanted to let everyone know why I've been scarce (in addition to all of the holiday-ness.
Everyone has been doing so well! I can't wait to see how we all do for the rest of the month!
Peace,
Gonks0 -
No time to update right now since I have more errands to run before work (eeek!) but I wanted to re-post my running milestone today. Originally posted in the Runner's Club thread, but I am so proud of myself today I wanted to share it with all my lovely twenty-somethings too!
"Major victory today. 6.6 miles non-stop running. Which is more than TWICE the farthest distance I've ever run without a walk break. 70 minutes and NO WALKING! :drinker: I'm really proud of myself today! I love hitting new milestones with my running every week. It's so nice to set goals each and every Sunday and meet them "
In other news, I tried Gu Gel (an energy gel for longer runs) today that tasted like Chocolate Mint and it was actually incredible. I'm in love!
Off to run my errands, then eat some dinner and head to work. Have a great night everyone!

Melissa-I don't know how cold it is there but awesome job on getting a run in still!!
Meag-thanks girly I have been trying really hard this month! I hope it is worth it in the end! If you like indian food you should try Lebanese food!! it is awesome and seems not quite as oily as the Indian food!! and CONGRATS on the running milestone...70 minutes straight of running is an awesome goal to reach
Gonks-maintaining is still great...and like you said you still have a great shot at hitting your Dec goal...so push right on past the funk and get 'er done!
AFM- got in a great workout today, and 2/3 for wk3 of my push-ups and crunches...even though i was dreading doing it!! eating had still been good, and i have been drinking tons of water for a mini challenge with someone else on here so that is an extra bonus!0 -
Selfish Post-
Hey everyone no time to read through everthing right now but I ended up ruining my weekend/ my bf's weeekend because I apparently got wasted off a few glasses of wine at the company party. Now I feel super guilty and I can only hope that I didn't make a huge fool of myself in front of my coworkers. We couldn't go out to dinner because I felt like crap all day yesterday. I still felt crappy this morning and missed my team workout. I have a massage soon and I am hoping that will make me feel a little better. I just feel so guilty for letting this happen. I had been doing so good about drinking and food. Sorry for the pity party I just had to get this out somehow.0
