Hello everyone,. I am Rob and I will be captaining this ship.

I am really looking forward to tis challenge and happy to have a great group to do it with.

So I would love fore everyone to introduce themselves in this thread and in the future we can use it as a group meeting place.

    Oh this is too funny... I should have joined a challenge a long time ago! Looking forward getting that boat moving!! When do we start?

    OH! And my name is Elin, I'm also 26 and I live in Idaho. I'm a runner/hiker/backpacker trying to lose some more weight to do those activities more comfortably. Currently I'm at the lowest weight I've ever been as an adult.

    Hi,

    I'm Marianne, from London (UK)...
    I aim to exercise 6 times a week...usually ends up being 4 or 5 times a week.

    I'm currently following a ChaLean Extreme / Turbo Jam hybrid schedule. I'm getting bored of Turbo Jam, so am going to start doing some of the Turbo Fire classes instead. I did a 45 minute one today and burned 539 calories.

    I know nothing about this challenge, so can you fill me in with the details?

    I am a 32 year old stay at home mom that also homeschools two of our four kiddos. I am from Kansas in the U.S , no yellow brick road in site and the wizard is not all he is cracked up to be (otherwise I would be thin by now ;) I am doing a mis-match of all of my favorite beachbody workouts I have most of them so I just alternate between cardio and strength. Looking forward to getting started and getting to know everybody!

    I'm not sure exactly how it works but somehow we're going to convert our calorie burns into units of ship movement. There ought to a central thread lurking out there somewhere, I'll post it if I find it, or if anybody else knows where it is post it please!

    My name is Wendy. I turned 45 earlier this week. I am happily married to my best friend and we are owned by 3 dachshunds. I walk for my exercise. I am currently training for a half marathon. We live in Georgia.

    The team looks great.

    So more about me, I am 26, completing my PhD in community psychology and teaching at DePaul University (Chicago), I have been an MFPr for the last 90 or so days and have lost just under 40lbs with 60 left to go.

    My calorie burns are split between cardio machines at the gym (cycle, ellipticle, stair master, and rowing machine) and my real passion of cycling. My goal is to ride my first century (100 mile one day) ride next spring.

    I am also married to yeesabelly one of our crew members who mostly uses the Android version of MFP so does not post as often as I do.

    As for the contest there is a spreadsheet (which I do not yet have) which will convert our calories to miles rowed. I believe someone said that 50 calories would equal one mile. The calories can be burned any way you like.

    I think we will collect total calories bruned every week but I will wait to see the spreadsheet before setting up a schedule.

    Most of all I want peoiple to be friendly and supportive. I am not sure what team members average or high burns are but whatever they are they will help out the team.

    Thank you, Rob for stepping up and Captaining us! My name is Mary Anne, I'm 46, married with two teenage boys. I work the 3-11:30 P.M. shift at our local hospital. I'm a medical laboratory technician, and there's never a dull moment. I enjoy working out, and as luck would have it, I was planning to start the Chlaean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid. One day lifting weights, the next day cardio training with a lot of High Intensity Interval Training. I'm looking forward to seeing how far we can go!

    The link you've got down there now is for the google map of where the boats are, replace it with this (but turn that IMG to lowercase first, I had to make it uppercase so it would post as text and not just another picture of the boat!):

    Hi guys! Emma here from Wisconsin! I am a runner ... BeachBody coach and geek ... umm just joined a new gym and going to check out some of their classes. I am training for a half marathon right now and I have about 5 more planned this year. I do take rest days (sorry but its pretty necessary with my schedule). Unfortunately tomorrow is one of those ... but my burn Saturday will be epic!

    I am a nurse practitioner... I work full time in geriatrics and I am a Clinical Lipid Specialist so I have my own clinic with that as well. I teach part time... and I am in school for my doctorate full time as well.

    I started at 276 -- have lost down to 240 ... slow and steady wins the game. :)

    Hi everyone! I'm Debbie, I'm 46 years old, and I live in New York. I'm the proud mom of a 9 year old, and an attorney. Thanks so much, Rob, for organizing this and captaining our ship! I'm a cyclist, too! A century ride is a great goal to work toward, good luck to you! I started riding 3 years ago, and my goal was to do a century by the end of that first summer, which I did. You will feel so proud when you do it!

    Can't wait to get started!!
