Weighing in at 170.00 today I am down 3.6 pounds from last week. I didn't get any exercise in yesterday my hubby and I were fighting. I did get all my water in for the day and some. I am happy to be a prefect but have no idea what to choose for the food challenege at all.
Congrats!! You weigh less than me!! I am checking in tomorrow! (Maybe we will be tied!!) Great Job Lady!!
Thanks I was really shocked I stepped on the scale like 10 times lol. I am so excited even my skinny jeans are turning into my too big jeans. I am having a garage sale this weekend and getting rid of a few of my big girl jeans so maybe I can get some smaller jeans. I hope fingers cross we sell a lot of stuff. I will be out both saturday and sunday trying to make some money. Two of my kids birthdays are coming up so they need cake and presents!!!! Sorry to go so far off topic.0 -

I quite liked the challenge to eat at least 3 veggies daily - for a week there I was eating pretty well so I'd welcome another of those. I also like the water challenges like this week and the first one.
So far no one has said if they'd be up for a dance challenge. I also thought skipping might be fun - please say if you have a preference or better suggestion, I don't want to be the one to set a challenge everyone else thinks is crud :flowerforyou:0 -

Dancing is awesome also! I love to Zumba so this could be a great opportunity to get back into that!0 -
Weighed in today at 129.8. This may sound strange but can your bone structure just change in your hips? I know it can if you have a baby but I haven't done any of that and I suspect that something's changed structurally. You see I have some teeny tiny jeans that used to fit me but now I just seem too wide for them. Of course it could be that there's more of my bum than there used to be!0

On the subject of the food challenge I find it really hard not to eat one (or sometimes two) packets of crisps (potato chips, although we get them in smaller packets here in the UK) each day so maybe something about resisting cravings? Not sure how it would be measured though because I'm sure we all have different vices!0

Exercise: 275 mins... I was beat last night, lots of walking, swimming with the kid, and the elliptical.
Water: 8+ cups
Weigh-In: 169.8
*I have broken through to the 160s now so many times but keep self-sabotaging and jumping back up to the mid-170s. I need to stay on task EVERY DAY. I guess I need to set a mini goal of under 160 by for next month... IDK I need to change something!

I'm definitely interested in a dancing or skipping challenge. I think skipping is easier to measure though! I don't have an idea for food yet but I'll be sure to let you know if I do come up with one. Perhaps another of the level monitoring ones - watching our sugar levels for instance?0

I am totally for Dancing!! My favorite Exercise of them all!! (could do based on 10 or 30 min workout... aka DVD, Zumba class, or any other dance class, etc.)
I will fail everyday if we measure sugar.... The amount of fruit I eat per day puts me over by 11am... You could to reach your cal goal daily.... Over 1200 but under for the day... Or Watch carbs, eat protein/fruits/veggies... I think the food goal is the hardest because of each persons VERY different daily diet. Good Luck picking something!!! :-)0 -

Unless we don't include the sugar in fruit? Log it as usual but deduct it when posting our results/stats for the duration of the challenge since it's natural sugar? Obviously we could watch something else instead! Carbs would be a good one though.0 -

I've just realised that on the results I posted for Tuesday 27, I said I had 15 OWLs from 110 minutes of exercise. Obviously this is wrong! I don't know what possessed me to write 15 but it should in fact be just three OWLs for that day. Please could you amend the spreadsheet/chart accordingly as I wouldn't want false results to be recorded

Hello everyone, I've been up all night drinking and dancing for no other reason than I went to visit a friend I've not seen in ages and he served me tea all day, when I've been drinking decaff for about a year now so I'm just about getting tired at 6am :drinker:
First of all, my stats for the whole week are:
newts - 35
owls - 80
house points - 491
I've been measuring it as:
5 news for each day I've met/exceeded 8 glasses of water
5 owls for each 30mins of exercise in a day
and the house points are pretty simple 1 point per minute of exercise
I hope I have got this right! If not, my apologies; I am simply rubbish with numbers. Please recalculate if I've been measuring it wrong!
As for the exercise challenge, dancing got the most votes but I appreciate that not everyone is likely to like it so I thought we could split it.
3 owls for every 4 minutes of dancing (round up or down to the nearest whole number I reckon)
3 owls for every 2 mins of skipping - either with a real rope or an imaginary one - 4 owls if you do this with weights (and an imaginary rope!)
I'm likely to get 0 points tomorrow since I'm likely to sleep most of the day - my alarm is due in an hour but I won't be getting up :laugh:
OH, also I'm going away from 7th until 16th, I'm going on tour with a singer as a groupie to keep my sound engineer friend company. I may be able to get online but I won't know until I get there since I'll be living on a tour bus roaming through Europe. Perhaps I should delegate my prefect duties for next weekend or I could just think of a challenge in advance. Sorry I appear to have typed a lot (but that's probably because I drank a lot too! haha)0 -

Something just as simple as 5 NEWTs for every day you stay under your calorie goal? To make it a little harder, you could add an additional 5 NEWTs if you manage to stay under by at least 100? I'm not too good at thinking up food challenges as you can tell!0 -
Just thought I'd share this- if you're doing skipping as your exercise rather than dancing and you want to log it in your exercise diary, please note it is called "jump rope" and not "skipping" on the database. It took me a while to figure out!
So those of you who are in North America, skipping is the same as jump rope0 -

My calorie goal is 1200 and I have read that it is not wise to eat under that amount but I guess If I do extra exercise perhaps it wouldn't be so harmful? I guess that would be "not eating back exercise calories". Anyway I'm normally over my calorie goal so this would be a challenge for me, definitely.0 -

Obviously it was only a suggestion and I know people may not feel comfortable going under their calorie goal, which I can understand. I'm not a prefect so ultimately it isn't down to me, but I just thought it'd encourage us to do more exercise, which will earn us OWLs and therefore more NEWTs.
Something simple like watching our carbs could be effective too, as I know there could be an issue with 'rewarding ourselves' as such for going under our calorie goal, which could be unhealthy. Plus that way everyone can take part. Hopefully we'll have momie0205's input soon!0 -

*** I don't support anyone eating under 1200 cal per day... My thoughts, if you don't exercise eat as close to your daily allowed cals as possible. If you do exercise, just keep your net cals close to your goal cals... I think most of us are still trying to loss weight (some just a small amount while others have a larger amount)... so a small deficit is ok to encourage, but nothing more, since MFP factors that into your daily cals.... IDK if that even made sense.0 -

Ok so with the calorie challenge the challenge is to stay make your calories or stay below. I would not recommend going more than 10-15 calories under your recommended calories. If you go over by a bit run around your living room, count that as exercise and you should be good. If you stay at or a LITTLE below your calories you will receive 5 NEWTs per day you meet the challenge!0 -

I love your idea for the exercise challenge, but I do want to change a the points because I think it should be a little harder. Ok so for every 5 minutes of dancing you get 1 OWLS there is no maximum on the OWLs you can earn! For each 1 minute of skipping or jumping rope that you do you will earn 1 OWL if you do it with weight you will earn 2 OWLs for each minute.
* I can have someone do the Prefect duties for you next weekend. I have someone in mind so private message me and let me know what you want to do! Thanks0
