:drinker: Good morning to everyone. I got up early this morning. I read for a while then made a pot of coffee. I'm wanting to get my main bathroom prepped for painting this morning so hope I can get to it.

I'm going to have a Thomas light multi grain English muffin with a litlle peanut butter on it and have a cup of coffee. Then get busy on that bathroom.

Hope everyone is having good morning and will talk to you later.

Hi all, bet you think I'm an early riser, ha.. not so, just a late owl... time to go to sleep, and here I am!!
I've been thinking about your breakfasts. It's great that you don't stick with the standard fare, you know? like cottage cheese, or peanut butter.. I can do that on the road.. I like peanut butter and would rather eat it than sandwich meats.. and I usually do. Sometimes, Elvis Presley style, I have a banana on the sandwich.. my mother used to mash the banana into the peanut butter. Nowadays, I just slice the banana. Depending on what we have planned for our day, we often don't eat in the morning. We just wait til lunchtime. I drink coffee mostly. All of the nutrionists say to eat breakfast. I am nver hungry though.. but sometimes I will eat anyway. We had lunch at Red Lobster today.. I got full quickly. I guess the salad does that.. then I couldn't eat all of the baked tilapia and vegetables.
Marie, I can send you that dvd, I won't be using it anymore. I like walk away the pounds for myself.
I don't know if I have your address, is it on the envelope you sent? I'll check it and if I don't have it.. I'll email you.
time to throw the wash in the dryer, then go to bed.. night, or mornin all!!

For breakfast I had high fiber toast, blueberries. and yogurt, a total of 277 calories
For lunch I am having Salmon , bulgar. Mixed brocolli and califlower
For supper the same as lunch.
    For bedtime snack--latte

I have been really busy today running errands and shopping. I am working on keeping my DH on program and he seems in control. He has more self control than I do and will probably loose much faster than I will. That is how things usually go. I am doing well though. I think this will be the year for both of us.

Hi there Seniors.....I fit in this very well....I am not a diabetic...however I am surely a senior...was 69 in December....I belong to another weightloss site...have been there since Feb 2007 and have lost 50 pounds and really just want to maintain however my doctor wants me at 130 so that is what I put in as my goal....

I started the other site at 197 and when I reached 160 pounds my doctor took me off of BP medication.

I have been here for 3 days.....and so far like it very much.I wish there were more smilies..and I wish you could put them in your blogs....Oh well maybe someday that will be an option for us...

Now to get back to exercise topic....I have COPD which sort of leaves me short of breath...but I take two puffs on my inhaler before I get on my NordicTrack ET....I usually go 15 minutes on level 2 twice a day...and on a really good day I go 3 sessions....It has really helped with my breathing...

I just wanted to sort of share my story...Have a wonderful week.

I forgot to mention that I'm having a hard time losing weight. I got side tracked over the holidays and really having a hard time getting back with it. Have been feeling kind of down about the whole thing. Sometimes I just want to forget about it but I know with diabetes I can't do that.

Hi everyone, I didn't make it yesterday, well, I don't count the early am.. anyway, we put all of our stuff in the truck to get ready to go back to work. We took everything home to be washed, and really cleaned the inside well. So we are almost ready to go, but we aren't leaving til Friday or Saturday, as far as I know. I have a repairman coming friday to put in a part on a recalled dishwasher.
PAT I know what you mean about losing weight slowly. If I was tenty years younger, and eating the way I do now, I would be losing weight.. but now I just stay the same. I really have to cut fat, calories, etc, and keep moving. It gets so tiresome.. especially when you know it is going to be a lifelong, slow process.. Like Marie says, just keep going. I got some high protein bars to take with me. They seem to hold my appetite, and they don't affect my blood sugar.. I am not a diabetic yet, but I am not far from it.
My dh is a type 2 diabetic, and he doesn't like to eat like one.. he still wants his coca cola or other non diet soda.. sweet tea, and sweets. It is a roller coaster with him, he wants the meds to do all of the work. They will do the work, but then he forgets to take them!! Grrrr....
Welcome BIGGRAMMA, and Jeffrey.. JEFFREY, what did you say to Caliecat? I'm curious.. especially if it has something to do with exercise!!
BIGGRAMMA, do you have cats? is that who Caliecat mentioned?
MARIE, we don't know what to do about the new cat, Pudge. We keep going back and forth about taking him along. Jim says to put him in the car and go for a ride.. I say leave him and our boy cat home alone, so they might make friends. We won't leave little Possum at home coz she is older, and she has a little cough I like to keep an eye on.
It is constantly on my mind..
I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday after loading up the truck.. they had 80% off Christmas stuff, oh no, and I had to look at it!! But, I got 20 dollar items for 4.00. I'm happy with that.
MARIE, I got raincheck for a new die cutter called 'Slice'.. they were out of them. It is supposed to cut several textures, like felt, vinyl paper, etc.. I think thin fabric is ok too.. it is a rechargable, electric and very portable machine. That is pretty much the last thing I need for scrapbooking/card making. The cartridges are expensive, but I don't want that many of them anyway.. so I can wait for coupons or sales to get the ones I want.
We didn't have breakfast yesterday, we had bar b que pork for lunch.. I had a regular sandwich with coleslaw.. That is my way of cutting back, to eat the smaller sandwich.. I wish Jim hadn't had french fries though.. coz I ate some of them.. they weren't greasy and they were delicious.. ugh!!
Last night I had two slices of thin crust pizza.. I could have eaten four, so that is a step forward too.. (See PAT, how optimistic I am..haha) as always, I had coffee with milk and splenda and this week at least, benefiber added to it.
    SEE YA'LL LATER!!

By the way, have you seen Weight watchers new Momentum ads on tv?
Does anyone have any input on this program.. I'm not sure if I want to go back to WW or not.. but they do have Mobile capabilities now, so I can keep up with my points. I think I do well with this website, MFP, and I don't want to enter everything twice.
    what do you all think?

    Pj,

I have just tried to encourage her to keep going! Do little things like lifting things while watching TV, doing leg lifts while sitting down. Just little things like that, stretching is great too. And if so motivated try to find a yoga group. Yoga is wonderful for helping to keep the muscles and tendons stretched and working better. But whatever you do, do it consistenly, and don't beat yourself up if you struggle. We have all made it this far so we can handle struggles! LOL

I am coming around on 56 years old. I have lost 65 pounds since last March. I workout a lot and physically my doctor tells me that I am in better shape than most 25 year old males. My chloresteral total is 94! Almost too low! All my blood work is perfect. It was not that way a year ago. So it does work but it has been a challenge. I am about 15 pounds away from my goal of 190. I feel great and have really got to the place that I just love to exercise. The yoga has really helped with my balance and overall well being. I highly recommend it. But as with anything, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor.

If there is any specific thing that you have any questions on I will do my best to assist however I can. Take care and enjoy the day!

THANK YOU for the nice words of welcome.....I have already done 15 minutes on my NordicTrack ET and put over 3000 steps on my pedometer shopping at Target this morning...I of course do not wear it while on the ET I aim for 10,000 or more steps a day.......On days when I don't go out...I just walk around my place...When I go shopping I walk up and down every aisle in the store..just for the exercise....

I hope everyone is doing well....Oh I posted in the food forum some new Kashi TLC bars I found this morning....very good....very rich...low in calories 120....High in fiber and protein....

Thank you Calicat for the nice comment about my pets........I guess you checked out my profile and saw their pictures....Yes they play together .....Kitty wants to play more than he does..

People laugh at the cats name...however it makes it easier for me...I can say to JJ "where is JJ's Kitty" I got her for him since he was mourning my old cat (20years old) that passed over "The Rainbow Bridge" he kept going out on the patio looking for her...so I got this kitty for him...

Hope you go check out my profile and see my fur babies...

My picture that I have posted for myself was taken in September after I got home from my 50th class reunion.....
