    Good Afternoon Cool Kids.

All my cardio today {except 2 minutes of squats} was planting trees down by the graveyard. It will make mowing a bit of a challenge, but my cousin has cleared off a spot to build on her land, and I wanted some kind of barrier. {She is not my favorite person in the world, and I really wouldn't mind of she stayed in Rome Georgia} It was 75F, and my winter beard didn't last the day. When it starts to drip sweat, I shave.

Welcome to all the new folks, and hello to everyone else.

    Larro

KellySue67 I hope everything goes well for your husband at the new place, hoping something closer comes up soon too.

I dragged my butt out of bed at 5:30 this morning, man I did not want to. But I did it, got to kettlebell and feel better for it (other than the knee still bugging me) and finally some downward movement on the scales! Down 3lbs from last Sunday.

Wow! How did you manage to drop 3lbs in one week?!?! If I drop 1 is a lot to me!!!! :\

I turn 40 at the end of May...... do I count as a 40yo yet? I kinda hope I do cause I'm looking forward to being 40...... I always said whatever I was doing by the time I was that age was what I was going to be doing for good.

I'm about to start a Dip in Business, I work in a bakery (and love it) and I'm fitter & healthier and HAPPIER than I've ever been.

My son just moved out of home though :'( so I guess that's a downer, but I don't have much confidence in his ability to budget or even pay rent & bills so I know he'll move back home soon...... sad outlook know but he may be 21 but his mind is only 15. He's just not ready.

But please let me join.....I'll wait if I have to.

Of course you can join now!!!!!! We need a young mind here! LOL HAHA :D MMM a bakery!!! My weakness...

Hi everyone! I usually just skim posts and don't participate but I want to change that because support is good, right?? I had a good week last week and lost exactly 2 lbs. I have been doing t25 and feel better than I have in so many years due to a host of serious health issue. Just waiting for my body to physically look like my mind thinks it does

Alf1163 I Think part of the extra weight I've put on in December/January was hormonal, being pre menopausal has totally messed things up. I've got my calories set to 1700 and I'm not entering or eating back calories for exercise. Course I Was 148, then 146.2, then 149 then 148 so I am to go down then up. Here's going just the downward tend continues!

Hello I'm Eric and I'm 45. Starting weight 238 and down to 217 after about 8 months however first 5 months I didn't pay attention to any tracking or monitoring. Gotten more serious in last few months. I'd say my ideal weight is probably in the mid 170 range. I'm leaving my real goal weight flexible since if I put on muscle mass then what my perception of ideal weight is will obviously change the closer I get.

iT guy, sit and drive and then sit and drive for work all week. Not as active as I want to be but trying to change that (weather in Ohio isnt helping at the moment!).

Proud papa of 4 great kids. Loving wife (working on her to be more active as well).

    53. I started working on this as a 2014 New Year's resolution. After 14 months I dropped close to 90 lbs. Started at 415. Even at 6'4" that is s whole bunch. My ultimate goal is 215. It took me 20+ years to gain all that so I figure it is a three year project to lose it. 65 lbs in the first 12 months and almost 25 in the last 2 months.

    Morning Kid's !
Still maintaining at 5 lbs. below my initial goal even after eating over my calories ( like last night ). I guess I'm burning more through the day than I thought or eating less ( since I never replaced my food scales that broke way back when ).So can't complain about that. :)

Larro - 75 degrees. I'm so envious ! They are saying we may get hit again with another snow/storm here. Ugh. I'm done with all this snow.

I managed to catch myself yesterday after slipping on ice. Only bumping my hip against the door frame of the car while my arms flailed around trying to catch the top of the door. Pure blind luck.

Kelly Sue - 3 lbs. lost is awesome ! Your doing great.

Cherylann- You look great. The only products I've found so far that I'm not sensitive too are the Avon Anew. I'm getting ready to order some myself. I'm not a rep but did sell some briefly. A client/friend ordered some and loved it. So I tried it based on her recommendation.

    Anyway I'll check back later.

    Hello and welcome Newbies.

    Morning everyone!!!!
Actually got up this morning and did a KettleWorx workout and my MuTu workout. Hoping to be able to get into my friend's bootcamp class this evening after work. Yes, I am a glutton for punishment. LOL
  • Is there an upper limit? I am 53 so please let me in, I will try and behave myself.!

Hi everyone! I'm kinda new here, or at least new to the forums. Looking for motivation to keep me away from the rich food and drinks I enjoy so much and trying to focus more on the fitness. I hike, cycle, paddle, swim... much more an outdoors guy than a gym rat. Sure, I have my bike on a trainer indoors and some free weights strewn about the floor, but hopefully after the thaw I'll again feel like riding outdoors for hours on end. Looking forward to meeting you all on the boards!

There is almost a hint of the possibility that spring might show up some day. I'm already thinking of ways I can duck out of work early occassionally to take the kids hiking!

I'm no lady {or gentlemen either}, but the big three in skin care are stay out of the sun, drink tons of water and get plenty of sleep. And of course don't smoke or drink alcohol to excess. My old hide is paying the piper for all the tunes I danced to in my youth.

44 and new to the site. (and to general fitness as well) -- After spending twenty+ years ignoring my health to pursue career and and family I decided that I didn't want to exit early with heart disease or diabetes. I started walking treadmill (30 minutes to barely make a winded mile) one day a week back in October. Now I'm up to three days a week, 3 miles, cycling, and some light strength training. I've got a long way to go with a goal of losing 75 more pounds to get to my target weight, but I already feel better, eating better, and my blood pressure heading back to a normal level, and am starting to wear shirts I've not seen in quite a while. If I can go from the couch to active, then anyone can do it. :)

Morning all, I got my butt to Zumba and stayed for the body blast class. She started the last quarter sets - this is more kick boxing. Not my fav, but I didn't really mind it. I was using 3lb hand weights to do the punches / kicks. That was the heaviest weight the instructor would allow, otherwise form is compromised. I did have to drop them at one point, but for the most part, kept them in had throughout.

Spring does feel like it may be around the corner, simply because the sun seems warmer during the day - still pretty chilly at night.

Here is a picture of my behind from Sunday's snowshoe - breaking trail while climbing this BFH! Lots of laughs on the way up though.

Alf - congrats on February's loss!! Great job!

Kelly - so sorry to hear about your husband. You have been through a lot! I sure hope you have a great support system, otherwise, I don't know how you do it. Having to travel that distance for a visit certainly sucks.

Larro - the weight just keeps falling off! I had to smile that you are now on a "gain 1/2 lb week" goal.

Kate - good job maintaining your loss. You must be on the go steady during the day.

Curious - LOVE, LOVE the picture and story of you and the goose!

Carmel -nice to see you are still kicking *kitten* with your workouts!

ruby - love the "just one day" goals. Nice to see your smiling face again as well.

    Welcome to the newbies!

(Am slowly making my way through the posts I missed)

    Happy Tuesday Cool Kids!
Surely Spring is heading east to warm you all up! :flowerforyou: It's been here most of the winter. Last weekend the first buds on our ornamental cherry opened!
Alf, yippee! More lbs gone, and another motivating cruise! All sounds wonderful.
Kate, you continue to inspire me with hitting your goal, passing it, and maintaining steady. Way to go!! We're about the same height, and you're at my goal! I'm making progress, but still 4 lbs over my pre-October weight. I really blew it over the holidays :\
KS, 3 lbs! Awesome! Sorry to hear dh is so far away, but great to hear you're still drawing a line in the sand about caring for yourself.
Stephannie, I'm just learning to use kettle bells. I'm not a glutton yet, but think I'm nearing the slippery slope of gym addict.
GatesofDelirium, welcome. You don't have to behave, but you do have to be nice! ;)
JoshMaz, you sound like a kindred soul. Hike, bike, paddle (not so much swimming...the ocean is reall cold). I live in outdoor heaven, and take full advantage. But I'm also trying to embrace the gym. I have noticed that my weekend warriorism is catching up with me, and my outdoor activities don't seem to be keeping my overall strength and conditioning up to par.
    Furballs...sending you Springy thoughts! Soon!
Sdereski, OMG!!! That snow is amazing! Good job with the hand weights. 3 lbs can get very heavy!
Caramel, happy to hear you're still able to hit the gym hard! Zia's sounds like my kind of restaurant! I wish I had more time to prepare meals. I have an awesome dehydrator, and can make some terrific raw bars & crumbles & fruit leathers ... I really need to manifest being independently wealthy and unemployed into my life so I can do it all!
Ruby, I also love the idea of small daily goals. Very Kaizen.
Larro, The weather sounds great in FL! And farewell to your beard. You have a very nice face under there.

I'm not going to get my 4 evenings at the gym this week. Just two. Yesterday was a board meeting until 8. Thursday and Friday are out because of the huge international sea kayak symposium I'm involved with . First time in the states. It's called Storm Gathering USA. Pretty cool thing for our little burg. But I digress...
Hard CORE at lunch today. Gym tonight. Bicycle commute tomorrow. Gym tomorrow night. Hard CORE again Thursday lunch. Then it's all going to heck through the weekend. :# . I'll need strength not to embrace the debauchery.

Good Afternoon Cool Kids! I have to clarify- I, unfortunately, am not the one with the 3lb loss. Wish that was the case, but I do believe it was 3furballs that had the loss. Must give credit, where credit is due- so congrats to her!!

Hubby had a great therapy session yesterday! So excited for him. He is feeling it today, but had another decent session today. I did have to call and talk with the unit manager yesterday because they didn't get all of his orders from the hospital and made some changes to some of his other medications that we were not in favor of. Hopefully we can get it straightened out soon.

I had a house guest last night. My grandson stayed overnight so that my daughter and son-in-law could go out and celebrate her birthday. We had tons of fun and made brownies too! I did keep a few, but took the rest to day care for him to share with his friends today!

Tomorrow I am going to see another program similar to the one I work in. I will be out of the office all day so may not be able to check in. Hope you all have a great couple of days!

Hi. 41(for a couple more weeks) and new to the site. Trying to get healthy again(it's been a few years). Goal is to lose 60lbs. Need the motivation to get started. Looking forward to being part of the group.

Sdereski & Curious, I'm filing a formal complaint against you two. {who is on the grievance committee for this thread anyway?} No one is going to look at my lame pine tree planting pictures after seeing what you guys are posting. I just came inside. It's 84F out there and my T-shirt was soaked with sweat. I used up the last of my seedlings, so now I'm just hoping for a nice slow rain.

    xe0y6bjbts0g.jpg

I may go back out and trim some trees so I can get in closer with the tractor for mowing. I have to do it every year, as the limbs come down looking for light. It should have already been done, but spring has sneaked up on me.

Another day of just Ranchero related cardio. But it adds up in a hurry.

Hope you guys are having a good day.
