Update on work issue: I felt much better today so decided to go to the grocery store for a few things I needed. I got an email from the PI saying that he saw me at the store and that he had given me the benefit of the doubt. I now know why this happened, I never thought he was so insensitive, I'm talking about a Psychologist. I replied saying I was sorry to hear he felt that way about me (we've known each other for a long time), among other things, always professional. I, for sure, do not want to work on his project even if he apologized. Another PI I work for right away was concerned I was sick and wished me a prompt recovery. Ugh!!! Sorry this is not MFP related...needed to vent, haven't even told my husband what's going on.

    Good night!

Hey Cool Kids! Just popping in here while I've got a minute...

KellySue - great to hear that you are preparing for your hubby's homecoming!

Curious - can you fit a slice of pizza and a few fluid oz of beer into your daily cals (like my 7 Dorritos) or would that be too much temptation??? ;)

Larro - 05:00... urrgghh - I hate seeing the morning from that direction, I'd rather approach it from behind - I'm such a night owl! You always seem so productive but I'd be zonked getting up at that hour! LOL

Alf - really sorry to hear about the work shenanigans! It's always so disheartening when someone you thought you knew lets you down like that and is so thoughtless! Hope you're feeling better though!

3furballs - great job on the charity spin class off the back of being ill... very dedicated! :)

Allenpriest - it's good to hear you've got over the horrendous food poisoning.

So - I'm off to the US of A tomorrow. I work for a global company whose "mother ship" is in the US. I'm going for an internal meeting in one of my very favourite places in the US... we're staying in Salem, MA, and meeting in Beverly, MA. To be honest, I'm quite concerned about how I'm going to accurately log food on the trip, but I'm determined not to break my logging streak (51 days and counting :) ). It's approaching major conference season for my work and I'm really not looking forward to the whole wining and dining of customers/collaborators, plus the requisite socialising with colleagues after a hard day always "switched on" - it's sort of expected to a certain extent! I've never had to do it while trying to eat sensibly... I suppose I can only do my best. I will try to check in here if I can - but might be MIA for this week, so I'll wish you all a happy forthcoming week! :)

Just finished a 30 minute run with Kali that was only supposed to be 15 minutes but she didn't want to go the short route. Here is hoping we both don't regret it. :o

Hey cool kids. 19C and sunny today ... spent it outside taking down all the Christmas lights, and trying help help my daughter figure out a bike (not easy for her). Even dusted off my old 1980's era Norco Monterey to prepare converting it into a Hybrid bike. It's 6:30 and my Fitbit step count is already north of 10,000 ... so it's been that kinda great day!

Hello all. It's been a beautiful sunny day here and I've been a sick lump. Didn't get much accomplished but I did go lie of a cushion in the sun (jeans and all). Got one bathroom cleaned and still need to help my son with something and put some laundry in the dryer.

I'm continuing on my bulk cooking plan. No pretty photos, because I'm too tired to take them - but here's what's prepped and refrigerated or frozen as appropriate: Herbed chicken with rice and peaches as sides; Italian sausage soup with French bread; Apricot glazed corned beef with roasted sweet potatoes; Chili with tortillas and cheese; Tacos with black beans and corn as sides; French onion soup with Caesar salad and apricots as sides; Chicken fiesta salad; pancakes with berries and bacon. Additionally we have frozen pizzas, hot dogs, and baking potatoes on hand. For snacks, we've prepped 4 cucumbers, two lbs. of carrots, three heads of celery, and we have tzatziki and hummus. Additional snacks are apples, kiwi, pineapple, bananas, and applesauce, and one lb of pistachios. For a family of five.

    Good Morning Cool Kids.

It's on day 2.5 of nonstop rain here. The river is coming up pretty fast and we are under a flash flood watch, though still a long way to flood stage. The good news is my garden is getting watered. The bad news is the big storm on Saturday washed big gullies from one end of to the other. When it drys out a little, I have lots of work ahead with hoe and push plow.

We did taxes yesterday. After all was said and done, we will pay about 12%. Not too bad, but that is one check I hate to write. Also did Mamma's taxes. She sold timber last year, so is having to pay for the first time in years. I haven't told her yet, but she owes $3.5K. I know she won't be happy. She still thinks in 1940 dollars.

Alisha, the bulk cooking sounds good. One of these nights when you have more time, you might think of posting to
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1216261/whats-for-supper#latest. There is usually some pretty good food ideas there, plus my stumbling and bumbling attempts at cooking.

I hate being stuck in the house all day. I have plenty of books, but still might don my rain gear and hike over to the pond to see how it's looking.

You guys have a good day,

    Larro

The other day when I was side dressing the cucumbers, Bad Word would not move, so I side dressed her too.

TGIM to all of you who work on the weekends! ! Today is my Friday, and it's going to feel so good to be off the next two days. I didn't make very good food choices the past few days so it's time to get back on track!

Larrodarro I love reading about your garden adventures, and I love the name of your cat. Too funny!

Happy Monday everyone. It has been raining each night since Saturday, some good heavy downpours. Not looking forward to my back yard being a swamp until it dries out. I need some stuff to kill mosquito larva, since we will be wet for a bit.

Alf- Sorry your coworker took the wrong attitude. It really isn't fair to you. I am sure there are better projects to be a part of.

Larro- We have had some heavy stuff and probably going to have it all week. I hope your plants do ok with all the water.

I hope all who are under the weather are feeling better. I know I am missing lots of you but I am still learning!! Have a great day.

Bad Word is her PC name. Last summer when my grand niece came down for the summer I had to think of something in a hurry. Her real name is the same as the man killing mare from Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove series of novels. What I call her rhymes with Bell Stitch.

Just looking at my ten day forecast. I guess I should be glad there is one day of simple rain mixed in. So much for the Sunshine State. Buddy Guy could write a blues song with this kind of weather.

    Good Monday morning Cool Kids!

Had a good active weekend. Picked Buttercup up Saturday morning. Unfortunately it was raining, so we didn't go on any adventures, just rode home. Next weekend for sure! Got a lot of weeding in when in cleared up in the afternoon. Sunday we had the perfect tidal and swell conditions to set up a series of wave trains in our Bay, so we went kayak surfing! It was a fun time.

E'sMom, hope you got all your food prepped for the week. I was inspired by you, and made 5 burritos for the week with sprouted wheat tortillas, brown rice, refried beans, roasted red peppers and jalapeno jack cheese. All organic of course! I also took advantage of a sale on Columbia Gorge juices -- cheaper than I can juice myself. I got several green ones, and a couple of carrot beet blends. It should be a good food week.

Larro, that does have real Blues potential. Sheesh. Not a break in sight. I hope you don't get flooded!

    BettyM, welcome to your weekend!

KS, enjoy your day off. I love days off during the week when I'm alone at home. It's like a vacation!

Alisha, that was some serious bulk cooking! Wow! How big is your kitchen?

Furballs, I sure hope you're feeling better soon. It's especially hard to be sick when it's so pretty out the door.

Alf, bummer about your co-worker. It's never fun to have turmoil in your workplace. But congrats on the loss! You're very close to that goal.

Webbeyes, great job on stepping out! Have fun playing with bikes.

LIttleNell, have fun on the East Coast. I hope you can find some good healthy foods in the restaurants. Hopefully your hotel will have a decent fitness center.

Allenpriest, glad to hear you're back in the swing of things.

Shotsonme, how did your weigh in go?

Nick, your post brought back fond memories of the things my mother used to add to the bottoms of our pants when we grew taller. I had some pretty far out duds.

    Caramel, how are you doing?

    Ruby? It's been awhile.

Hello to all the rest, and have a great Monday!

Had a great week last week! 455 minutes of exercise and 9,436 calories. That *won* me a 2.8 lb weight loss. Mostly water/bloat, but I will take it! I hope I get one more BIG swoosh this week and then it will make the rest of my "cut" a bit more bearable!

I am only doing 2 sets when I lift, as a 'nod' to the fact I am in a pretty serious "cut" phase. I will lift today!

    BOOM!

Well I made it to the farmers market and got some pole beans, yams, onions, squash, watermelon and local honey. I made 3 days worth of lunches and breakfast. I was a little worried about things going bad. So it is two boiled eggs and granola for breakfast, 3 baked chicken wings, green beans and sweet potatoes for lunch and watermelon for snack. It took so much time prepping all of it. I also chopped up some romaine lettuce for salads. But it will all be worth it if that evil >:) scale goes down!

I also added another work out before I got a shower last night. I am sore from moving so much more then I am used to. But I kind of like the pain. It makes me feel that I am getting somewhere.

Alisha/Curious You guys really killed it on the food prepping. I may have to step up my game here. ;)

KS - I so proud to hear that your hubby is coming home soon. I has been a long time coming!

Beeps - You know that you are a rock star in my book!

Kate/Caramel/Ruby - Are you guys okay?

I hope that you all have an awesome afternoon!

    Beeps2011 you are a SuperStar!

Well done everyone that did major food prep over the weekend! Something that I need to get in the habit of doing. Like Emmalusmom I am afraid things will go bad before I get to them and I hate wasting food. So I do buy most things in smaller quantity, means more trips to the store but less waste.

Can hardly wait for the weather to stay nice enough here to start my garden, have to get into May to miss the last frost hopefully.

    Have a great week everyone!

No food prep for me, other than supper, but I did get a good deal on some frozen veggies. Farm Bureau was having a sale and I got three cases of 12 one pound bags for $52. {$1.44/lbs} It was 12 pounds of mixed veggies and 12 pounds each of two kinds of green beans. Have I mentioned I like green beans?

I'm new to this group. I started MFP in January and have been successfully working towards my weight loss goals. I just started the community part as I'm looking to add new friends and also looking for support and motivation.
