We had pizza for lunch----it was the last of the basil pesto mozzarella tomato pizzas we bought at Costco ages ago. Jake cut up fresh tomato, peppers, onions, and olives and we shared the pizza. It came out a little over 600 calories for lunch (our biggest meal). With my regular oatmeal applesauce banana breakfast, protein shake dinner, WASA cracker and hummus snack, yogurt and cereal at bedtime, I'll be at about 1350 calories for the day. Today was 50 minutes of walking at the dog park and 20 minutes of yoga with the new DVD and then exercise bike while watching TV later so I'll be fine. It really reinforced out decision to stay away from processed foods. I'm a lot happier with the way I usually eat.
Jeffrey, I fell off a bicycle when I was in my 30's and pretty much lost interest in bike riding since then. I love to walk so I get my outdoor exercise that way. My friends who ride bikes are all so lean and muscular so I see that it's great exercise,
BG---glad you enjoyed your cheeseburger and fries
if you're going to eat stuff like that it's important to enjoy it   Glad your doctor visit went well.
Marie---glad you enjoyed your ice cream. I have to stay away from ice cream because a small serving like that wouldn't be enough for me.
Sandy--take it easy, between being a good grandma and grieving your precious Freeway, you're using a ton of emotional energy. Take it one day at a time and get some rest. The poodles say "woof woof"
We have warm weather today ---65 degrees.
Big hugs to all

hi my friends - sorry i've been out of touch! Ever since all the rain we've had no internet at work:grumble: The company is coming out tomorrow to look at it. It's bad because we were unable to ship anything today - not good!
I've been having a tough time - REALLY wanting to eat........i didn't even do my weigh in on monday - too scared:noway: I'm going to do it tomorrow though. I've done all right so far today - got a couple walks in too. Yesterday i didn't get to work out 'cause i have a sick horse and i was hanging out with him - grooming him and seeing if i could figure anything out for him. The vet is coming out on Friday. He's old.............
Sandy - i love the picture of you and hubby with Freeway...how are you both doing? Sounds like Bryanna's weekend went GREAT!
Barbie - MORE weight loss???????? Holy COW! That's AWESOME!!!!!!! I'm glad Jake is feeling better!
Hey Jeff - how's your weather? We were in the 70s today. On Sunday i ran into an old friend who works at home depot (we spent 4 hours there getting electrical supplies) and lives in the foothills where i lived before i lived where i do now. They got 4 feet!!!!!!!!!! I kinda miss that! We did get lots of rain tho!
Beth - i hope your shoes dried out - i can't STAND wet feet/shoes!!!!!!! Everyone i know who was in Nam always says that was the most important thing - taking care of their feet - of course, that was jungle environment too....... Did the hoola hoop arrive?????
Big Gramma - Red Robin - yummmmmmmmmm! I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch! I LOVE eating there. It's one of the places i can go and eat a "hamburger" with all the trimmings!!!!! I'm not quite as good as you......That's so cool that your Dr. Appt went well!
Hey Marie! I'm so glad that 100 calorie meal thing is working so well for you! That'd be WAY cool if you got one of those trykes!
Gayla - sorry you didn't get to go to the wedding. I sure hope Neil's not getting an infeciton again.
I hope i didn't forget anyone:embarassed: Missed you guys! I hope my office computer will get fixed tomorrow!!!!!!!0 -
well, finished some of my sewing projects and just planned to 'veg out' on tv tonight, but I discovered I am bored and I want to sew.. goofy me.
Not much going on, just checking in with you. hope you all have a great week.0 -
Hi folks! Hi-ho, hi-ho, back to work I . . . went. :ohwell: As usual I worked late and got home in time to get dinner in the oven (pork tenderloin) along with some rice and peas, not imaginative, but tasted fine. We ate dinner in the family room while we watched Idol, not Dave's favorite show but he humored me. It was a big night as I had to get in Idol and Dancing with the Stars, I know, kind of lame. We did take Neil to the Dr. before I went to work and yes, he has an infection again or more likely still. He is back on antibiotics with the hope that this will clear it up for good. He says no more baths for a bit so cancelled his bath for Friday and Monday. The doc did feel that it was not as bad as last time he saw it, gave me lots of praise for taking good care of it.
We do plan for him to start back to work at the food bank on Thursday. I think one day this week will be a good start! He is off to the movies tonight with his buddy, hope he gets home soon. I feel ready for an early night.
I have been reviewing the NoS plan and am nearly ready to jump in. The water will not be getting any warmer. The thing I really dread (as we all do) is the WI. I fear I am at my highest weight, a heartbreaker after losing over 50 pounds a few years ago.
I will get some personals done soon but for now will say goodnight. sleep well. Gayla :yawn:0 -
Hi All,
OK to all of those who asked about the tennis shoes... I have 2 pair here and I am going to order one more from the store I used ot buy my running shoes from when I was stationed in Utah... but you will enjoy this...
I wanted to make sure I could wear my shoes as soon as possible so I took one of the industrial heaters that we use to keep buildings...BUILDINGS warm and dried my shoes yesterday
Pheobe - what kind of sewing porjects do you do? (if I missed that in another post I apologize)
Jeff- I do hate wet running shoes but I do so love my Mizunos so I was not happy when they got wet.
Marie - the chowhall still isnt all that hot... but I have been eating lots of fruit and veggies... and I tried the meals you sent. YUMMY!!! still havent been brave enough to try to cous cous (or however that is spelt)
Elli - I am waiting on the hoop...should be here in about 5 days since they sent it to my regular address and dad sent it back telling them to send it to me here... since that was the request...SOOOO... couple more days things are making it here in 5-7 days so that is cool.
Barbie - what kind of shakes are you taking? I hate getting up at 400 for PT and starving so maybe I should try that before bed?
BG - I would kill for a real buger and fries about nowgood thing I am here and not there
Gayla - How are things going with Neil? Is his infection cleared up?
Have a great day/night when ever you read this
Beth0 -
Good Morning Everyone!
Half way through the week! I live for the weekends! All is quiet at home and that is good.
BG- I really was looking forward to those fries! LOL
Beth- Good hear from you! Stay dry and have a good day!
Gayla- I like your choice of shows. Sounds like our house.
Phoebe- Enjoy your sewing. I like to do yard work when I get bored.
Elli- The weather here has been wet a very chilly this week, but we are supposed to get good weather for the weekend. 70's and maybe 80's. I hope you dry out, spring is coming!
Barbie- You have really embraced the diet and exercise change! Great for you! I know how hard it can be, but you are doing just wonderful.
Everyone else, I will catch up with you all later!
Jeffrey0 -
I am so excited as Jeff should be, it is sunny and going to be in the 50's today, tomorrow 70 and then 80!! We have waited a long time for warm and sunny days haven't we Jeff?
Marie, I am so jealous of that ice cream cone, my favorite is a soft cone from Mc Donalds. I haven't had one since way before January, but if I ever reach my goal weight, I think I will treat myself to one.
Barbie, you and Jake are so disciplined with your diet and workouts. Tell the puppies thank you.
Bgamma, so glad you enjoyed your hamburger and fries. Another of my weakness. :noway:
Elli, you are sure getting a lot of bad weather lately.I wouldn't worry about getting on the scale, I bet you didn't gain a pound and probably lost weight. I am sorry about your horse, hope he will be okay. :brokenheart:
Gayla, I am feeling a little dumb, but what is Nos diet and what is fear of WI? Hope Neil's foot is better and the antibiotics are working.
Phoebe, I don't remember what you are sewing either. Is it crafts or is it clothes? Used to sew when I was very young, but not anymore. My DIL in Portland, is taking a college course for designing clothes and is a remarkable seamtress.
Beth, glad you got your shoes dried out, at least you got some perk from being over there being able to use their big heater.
Today I am going back full force on my exercise program, beginning with my eliptical. Maybe 30 minutes eliptical and 30 minutes arobics. I feel so fat, just because I haven't exercised in almost a week. My weight might be up a pound but I am leaving it at the ten mark to keep myself encouraged.
Have a wonderful day everyone, I hope everyone keeps happy and has love in their life.
Sandy0 -
Sandy - i'm so glad you asked Gayla about Nos and WI 'cause i haven't a clue either!
Well, i should have read your post BEFORE i got on the scale 'cause i did gain a pound
Oh well - i deserve it. Wish i was as disciplined as some of you guys (Barbie, Jeffrey, Marie..........). And all this talk of ice cream........my WORST weakness! I've so been crazying tcby - that's my absolute favorite!
It's nice here now! We're supposed to be up around 80 towards the end of the week also. I already got one walk in......hopefully going to "glop" some wood after work, go to the gym, then come home and strip the paint.....gotta get going! I have SO much more energy when it's not cold/rainy/snowy out!
Beth - that cracks me up that you used the building heater for your shoes! good thinking!!!!!!! I got to talk to my Soldier/son online today. He says now where he's at (Diwahnia - south of Baghdad) it's taking forever for them to get their packages.....i sent 1 over 2 weeks ago and he still hasn't gotten it:ohwell: How's your 1 Soldier doing that you were worried about?
OK - better get back to work!0 -
I keep losing my post.
Sandy--- Glad you are getting back to your exercise. What a tiresome week you had. I order me a trike bike this morning from Walmart . It should be here the first part of May. On my walk last night my legs gave out on me. Hoping I can ride this without Pain.
Elli--- The DS diet work real well for Gayla, but it is like all diet. You got to stick with it for it to work.
Eating Sweets on the S Days , Saturday, Sunday Would just get me on a binge again. So its best for me to count my calories. I too had a gain this morning. 2 lbs. I must be retaining fluilds for I have not gone over my calories. May have to start taking 2 water pills. Hate to for I can't stay out of the bathroom.
Gonna close for now for this computor is not up to parr Will try to get back on later.
Marie0 -
Hi everybody
I have to tell you how much I laughed this morning when I was doing the 20 minute energizing yoga DVD before breakfast and had an actual dog under me when I did the downward dog pose. I also got kissed by a dog while doing forward bend and had a dog standing with her paws on my shoulders while doing mountain pose.    The DVD we got is really great. It teaches poses step by step and has two different programs each with three choices of audio depending on how much instruction you want.
Elli---what a bummer to have the Internet go out. Last fall we stayed in an RV park at a fairgrounds and the internet frequently got turned off by someone flipping the wrong switch so you had to keep trying to see if it was back on again. I’m sorry to hear about your horse. Even the outdoor animals are just like our kids. That must have been part of your stress eating. Glad your weather is getting better and perking up your spirits.
Gayla---good to hear that Neil will be going back to work---one day a week is a great way to get back in the groove. What is the NoS plan? Don’t let the weigh in get you down. The sooner you start the better.
Beth---that’s good news about your shoes. My shoes that I wear in the morning to walk the dogs always get wet but I have other shoes to wear all day so they’re usually dry by the next morning. The shakes we have for supper are from a company called Isagenix. They are part of a nutritional cleanse program that Jake is doing. I just use the shakes because they are a very nutritious tasty whey protein shake. We make them in the blender with some crushed ice.
Jeffrey---you are an inspiration to me. I am amazed how you can go to work and do all the exercise you do and be a great family member and great “cat daddy”
Sandy—it’s never too late to get back to your good exercise routine---you’ll get back in the swing of exercising and dropping the pounds in no time.
Marie---I found mini pitas at the grocery store today. Aren’t they one of your 100 calorie meal favorites? Remind me again what you put in them.. do you eat them warm or cold?
Lunch today----lean turkey bratwurst, green beans, salad.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Barbie0 -
#1 Hi Barbiecat. What fun you must have had with your yogo and Your helpers. Sammy like to help me whem I trry to do the chair exercise. I cut apart my mini pita and toast them and spred some hunnus on them and have a serving of chopped veggie. I love these chopped veggies. This morning for lunch I added 1 T. of apple cider vinager , ! pkg of stevia. 10 sprays of ranch dressing. to a sbowl full. Sort of like cole slaw. To the chopped veggies. I used my blender fill it almost with water and add difference veggies to it. This mornin I used 2 Red peppers. Pkg shedded carrots. Pkg. of brocolie and cauliflower. Went out to the garden and pick some green onions, Several difference herbs and added that to the other veggies. Make a lot Will last for fewl days. I will be using other veggie as time goes along. I keep them in a gallon bag in the fridge. Handy, Don't have to cook it.
#2 BigG---I think my ice cream caught up with me , But I did not go over my calories. So I am thinking I may be retaining water again. I have a lot of that. Thats why they have me on this scales monitor so that keep an eye on me
#3 Beth--- I like cous cous. It is so easy to cook. with a little spray butter on it. I can hardly wait to get my trike.
#4 Gayla, Thanks for tellin me about that. Jerry bought me a regulaar bike but I just ouldn't get my balance on it. So glad Neil is getting around more now. He seems to like his independent.
#5 Jeffrey, I have never known anyone to train their cats. All Calie knows is to hide under the cover hoping Jerry will not know it and let her sleep with us. Angel my other dog develope a bladdler problem later on in her life and we had to keep her out of the bedroom so that meant Callie too. We wouldn't let Sammie in because we could'nt let Angel in. So he knows Where his bed is at. We had to put Angel down last year. We had her for 13 years. A good doggie and gave no one any problems. .
#6 Jake---Have a wonderfyul time on you motor trip.
#7 Phoebe--Yeah what are you making? I need to get involve into something.
#8 Elli I missed about your horse, guess I will have to go back and check it out.
#9 Sandy---- How's the exercising doing.? Can't wait to get my trike.
I got you guys number so I don't missed anyone. This old memory has to have some help.

Good MOrning Everyone!
All most Friday! Pretty quiet here again today. My lawn needs mowing, but it will wait until Saturday. I am going to get my garden spot prepared on Saturday too. And I have to get Day something for her birthday! I am looking forward to a busy weekend. I love those! I had a good yoga workout last night. I think I have finally mastered some of the more complex balance poses, half moon and twisting half moon, and standing splits. The program I use builds on one pose then adds others in sequence so by the end you are on on leg for close to 5 minutes at a time and it hurts! My ankle continues to improve in strength but is still weak from being in the cast until February. I am finally getting enough stamina in it to really work on pushing it harder. The new elliptical is great. I have logged a little time on it but not as much as would have liked. Joe is doing well. He has a morbid fear of the outdoors. I really don't get that but he is an inside cat. He has learned to come when I whistle, and to set up on command. He is a lot of fun, and still a real mellow soul.
Marie- The bike sounds like fun! I bet you will really enjoy that. Good luck at the Dr!
BG- Have a good cool day, if possible!
Barbie- I am happy that you are enjoying the yoga! By the way, I like those turkey brats too! With a little hot mustard!
Elli- Don't forget to take a little "Elli" time!
Sandy- Just get right back at it! Don't worry about what has past or will come!
Jake- Hope your back is doing better.
Beth- I hope you have dried out! LOL
Pheobe and Gayla and all the rest- Be well and smile!
Jeffrey (AKA Jeff)0 -
Ok, I lied, not intentionally but I didn't exercise yesterday. :explode: However, I did today, 45 minutes on my eliptical. Somewhere I lost a week in my life, but I am back on track. YEAH!!
It is very difficult to only eat 1200 calories when you don't exercise, so I really hated that. I only gain about 150 calories when I exercise (I am not as tough as Jeff, Ellie and Barb) but it seems I eat better when I exercise. I stay to small meals more often and I am not so hungry. The good news is that I really didn't gain I am still at my 10 pound loss. Those last nine will probably take forever, but I do feel good about myself. :blushing:
I have to go to a meeting this afternoon and then to get my hair cut. After that I plan to help my husband get our back yard cleaned up and patio furniture outside. :flowerforyou:
Love you gals and guys, have a wonderful day.
Sandy0 -
Hi I am back from the doctor. I had loss 5 lbs since last visit 2 months ago. I have put on a couple lbs in the last few days. She up my water pills and sending me to get my circulations check out. She thought the bike would be good for me. I hope so.
Everybody have a great day.
Marie0 -
Good for you Marie! I am proud of you!
Jeffrey0 -
GOOD JOB MARIE.....You are doing great......:flowerforyou:0
-
Thanks guys, I really feel down about these few lbs. for I have really wach everything. MY system just has to act up.
Marie0 -
You will lose that water weight with the new pills....then you will get a lot of exercise just going to the potty.. Don't be so hard on yourself......You have lost 5 pounds in 2 pounds...I am only down 10 pounds in a year.....Hang in there...:flowerforyou:0
-
I agree with everyone Marie, you lost 5 pounds since your last doctor's appointment, that is a great feat in itself. The water weight will come off and once you start tooling down the street on your bike, you will in the Miss America contest next year. :bigsmile:0
-
Ha Ha Sandy..0
-
I just read my post of earlier...and it will not let me edit it......what I meant was 5 pounds in 2 months.......not 5 pounds in 2 pounds...:embarassed:0
-
We knew what you meant BGamma.......................:laugh:0
-
 i must be tired - when i read BGrammas post i was like what does she mean? 5 pounds in 2 pounds.............
Marie - you're doing GREAT! Don't get discouraged. I can't wait 'till you get that tryke! I'm anxious to hear about it!
Jeff - sounds like life is good! Silly Joe for not wanting to go outside!!!!!! OK, you can do standing splits (we call it standing bow pose) with both legs locked and hold it for FIVE minutes?!?!?!?!? Holy COW! I'm impressed!!!!!!!!!!!:drinker:
I burned almost 600 calories today with exercise (2 dog walks plus the gym) and ate all but 200 of my calories. I just feel like i ate way too much, but i'm going to try and stick to this......see if it works. After i did some wood stripping the dogs and i walked for an hour. It was so nice - i picked some wild asparagus, watched a coyote tear accross a field and a pair of pheasants take flight! We even got caught in a brief rain squall! Very great walk!
Barbiecat and Jake how are you guys? Is Jake's back all healed up? hope so!
Sandy - what have you got going on for the weekend?'
Hey Beth - how's things over there? Are you in a rainy season? Or is the rain just occasional? I don't know how our friends in the northwest handle so much rain.......
Well - guess i'm off to bed. Tomorrow afternoon the vet comes to look at my old horse. I know he's got some kind of infection going on - i think it's a tooth. Then weekend wiring adventure:noway: THAT should be interesting!
Have a great day tomorrow all!0 -
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Hi Everybody,
I read everything but my brain is too fried to write anything:laugh:
Jake's back is better but still no golf or yoga:sad:
I did line dance, dog park, and yoga today.
Big hugs to all
Barbie:bigsmile:0 -
Good to hear from you night owls. Of couse barbiecat is 2 hours behind us. I think Colrada is the same as us. Let me know if I am wrong.
we are off to the store this morning,
I still have a 2 lb gain.
Think I will crank up the embroidery machine and put some flowers on some T- Shirts. that will keep me busy and out of the kitchen.
Have a good day all.
Marie0 -
Good Morning,
Today is supposed to be 80, I am so happy about that. I am sitting for the 4 year old and we will be able to be outside. :flowerforyou:
Ellie, you must be working really hard to burn 600 calories.I hope your horse is okay and the vet can make him feel better. I am sitting today and possibly tomorrow, and a baby shower on Sunday.
No rest for the wicked.
Barb, you are another hard worker who is doing great. Glad Jake is getting better, give him our love.
Marie, don't worry about the 2 lbs. it will come off before you know it. How talented are you that you can embroider with your machine. Sounds like you are going to make some beautiful T-shirts.
I plan on 30 minutes eliptical and 30 minutes arobics. Will let you know if that plan works.
Have a great day everyone!!
Sandy0 -
Sandy - thank you for asking about Mica (my horse). He died in the night:brokenheart:
. I'm feeling SO bad. I wish i had gotten the vet out here sooner. I'd called her last week and she never returned the call............i didn't realize it was such an emergency..........
I'll try and post more later or during the weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend. elli0 -
elli---- so sad to hear about your horse. Our animals are just like our kids to us. A part of the family.
