Hi everyone, in the midst of shouts about when is supper I decided I had to give you folks a little shout! I do think Spring has sprung. The trees are budding out and will soon have leaves.
the grass is looking greener.
Neil is saying that his toe hurts today, hmm, 2 days off antibiotics!! Now what, tomorrow we will see the Dr.
Welcome Ellen, glad you found the thread. I am sure you will like it here.
I hope you join us, Dayanne.
Jeffrey -- Enjoy the yard work and when you are done come on over. We have a large yard that needs more loving care than I can give it. I do like being out in the yard tho (with a tall glass and a reclining chair).
And Beth. . . so glad you popped in, I wasn't sure if we could find the air fare to send Jeffrey over. I guess he would have had to go parcel post. Rock on with the hula hoop.
Phoebe -- Enjoy your time at home. So sorry about Jim's accident. I am sure it hurts!
Marie-- good luck on the tests, hoping for good results and that you will be able to safely have your surgery.
Barbie -- Soon you will be hitting the road. Do you also golf?
Sandy--Hope you are feeling better.
Ellie -- You work so hard, I wish I had 1/4 of your energy.
BG -- Hope you are having a good day.
Take care, better make some dinner. Gayla0 -
Poor Jim for letting the fence fall on him. Hope all is OK.
Phoebe---glad to hear from you. Your supper sounds so good. Hot cornbread and butter Yum.
I could make a meal off of it and be so happy. Hate to hear about your allergy. Nothing like a stuff up head and bodyache. Hope you feel better tomorrow. glad to hear from you Ga. gal. I will get my trike next week. Can hardly wait. But I have been walking everynite with Jerry and Sammy. Sammy made me go this morning. talk about being boss, he is.They are remodeling the house beside us and got Sammy a nervous wreck. He don't like all the saws and air hammers. I fixed him a pallet in the wash room and he hides out in there untill they are gone. He is such a little wimp. No walk tonight , it is pouring down rain. Has been off and on all day. I got me a stevia plant in the garden. Got to find out how to used them.
take care of that boy. and yourself.
Marie0 -
Marie - Sammy sounds a lot like my little Hercky - he can't STAND for any kind of change....he's a mess with all the guys coming and going and working on our house. He wants to be with me every second!
Phoebe - how's Jim doing? Aren't men so stubborn???? Have you seen that diet coke commercial where men can take anything? They get electrocuted, and have a bowling ball drop on their head, etc. and they're always like "i'm good, i'm ok"......... I hope his tooth doesn't fall out!:noway:
Welcome Dayanne and Ellen! Nice to have you with us! You will get lots of support and help from this group!
Thank you Jeffrey - or should i say "Toby"? Actually, i'll be 57 mid may! That must be tough - always being confused with Toby Keith like that!!!!!!!Oh - and when you're done over at Gayla's yard could you please head over here???????????
Actually Gayla i've been feeling bad about not working enough on the house. I'm kind of burnt out on the wood and NOW i have no electricity upstairs (where i'm working on wood) and i just don't want to be doing it:yawn: I only worked on it for an hour tonight..........One of these days i WILL move back home!
Everyone have a great night!0 -
Wow---this is a talkative group today.
I’ve had my usual busy Wednesday---line dance and dog park plus carting more stuff to the motorhome and going to Petco to buy more pet food for the trip.
Marie---I’ll think good thoughts for you and your heart doctor finding good solutions so you’ll feel better for years.
Gayla---when I first started eating three meals a day with no snacking I found myself looking for ways to stay busy between meals so the time would pass and I wouldn’t think about snacking. Now it’s a lot easier. We haven’t been to the movies in months because we don’t think we could go and not eat popcorn. We buy or rent DVD’s and watch at home. I had to give up recreational eating and cooking as a hobby in order to lose weight. I’ll think positive thoughts about Neil when he sees the doctor.
Beth----it’s good to hear from you again. You keep so busy. I’m amazed at how much you do. How wonderful that you got to see Toby Keith. I’m so glad you got your hula hoop. I’m looking forward to hearing about how it’s working for you.
Elli---I’m glad your wiring is moving along. I hope all goes well with the inspections. You want your house to be safe without the inspectors being overly picky. Your house is going to be so great when it’s done. You’ll be glad you worked so hard. I hope you get over that bug whatever it is.
Sandy---your poor tummy is used to simple healthy food. It went crazy with all the rich food and sauces. I hope the exercise helped. We’re headed for California to see friends, kids, and grandkids. We take our time driving about 200 miles a day so we arrive at the RV parks early and get to enjoy the facilities. One park has a fenced dog park area for the dogs and an indoor pool for us.
Jeffrey---you are busier than ever now that you’re not working. You’ll have a hard time fitting in a job when it comes along.  Joe, the cat, is learning fast. I thought he was probably very smart. He has very good taste.
Ellen---Welcome. I’m glad you found us. You joined just by posting today. We hope we’ll hear from you regularly. You can change or modify your goals any time you want to. Congrats on the 40 pounds you have already lost.
Sandy
keep up with the positive attitude ----it rubs off on all of us.
Dayanne----Welcome. I hope to hear from you soon and find out more about you. All I know so far is that you have a motivated, thoughtful husband and some wild and crazy cats.
Phoebe---sorry to hear about Jim and the fence. Glad you are home safely. cornbread yum yum
Big G.
get off that elliptical. You can't stay on it all day even if it is big and tough
Jake and I have a deal----I don’t make him dance and he doesn’t make me play golf.  When we travel, he plays golf and I get to have the motorhome to myself.
It’s late for our supper so I gotta go. We’ve been having Isagenix shakes for dinner and it is so easy to fix and clean up.
Hugs to everyone ((( ))))

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. This is day 3, only about 1003 left. But as you say, take it one day at a time and we'll see the end sooner or later.
Just keeping track of all the bits and bites seems to help.
Sure glad for spring. Did I mention I live in Canada? Spring comes a little later even here in the West. The tulips are out, the wild sunflowers and the trees are greening up. Yeh.

Hello Ellen, Here is the link to the diabetic support group.

It is just a small group. and you are very welcome.to join in.
Marie0 -
back for a second. .. Bigramma, your photos are great, I love the pup and kitty
That elliptical machine is huge!! It is taller than you!
Do you truly feel like the master of all that you survey when you are on it?
wel, jim has a fat lip.. I wanted to say that, now I have a reason.
He is munching on ice, seems to be slightly sore, not too bad..I told him to try not to bite his lip.
A lot of help I am
Marie, I will be keeping a close watch on you thru these tests.. I know they get tiring, all that stuff, but it is good for you too. If your doctor says you should start wearing one of those masks in public, don't hesitate, you don't need to get the flu. But if you do, you still have to visit us.. drag yourself to the keyboardoh my the thought of giving up coffee gives me hives! My sis in law loves iced tea in the mornings..I wouldn't mind that in the summer.
I'm about to hit the sack, late as usual, need to take a nite time sinus med and let it do it's work on my sleep and pollinated nose.
Barbie, reading about the shake for dinner makes me crave a carnation instant breakfast, but I have only 2% milk , so I'll mix water and milk for it.
goodnight all0 -
Good morning everyone!
Going to work some more on my resume today and clean the house again. It is a rainy day here, but not too cold. Tomorrow we have an garage sale in our addition. I am going to go cruise that, it should be fun. I have lost another inch around the waist, so I am happy about that. I have to do another body fat percentage check next week and that should tell me a lot.
Our oldest daughter has told us that she is getting a dog. An Austrailian Shephard puppy. There goes the neighborhood! Sam, the youngest, is working at ISU for the first half of summer but she will be home for 2 weeks coming up week after next. I am happy about that. Not a lot else to report this morning. Just living the Dream! LOL
Smile a lot today! It is easier than frowning!
Jeffrey0 -
Hi Jeffrey and all that follows,
Beautiful morning here after all the rain yesterday. Will make everything grow. and the birds are happy this morning to.
I have a little running around to do today. I got an e-mail from Walmart and ny bike is on its way. should be here one day next week. Can hardly wait.
Still on my South Beach diet. and it is working just fine. Alice will be out Sunday and we will go out to eat. She is on the South Beach diet so I will have what she has.
Marie0 -
I am jealous of your daughter getting a new dog Jeff.
I think we will eventually get another dog, we both love Old English Sheepdogs (we have had 4) and I am leaning towards a girl since we always have had boy dogs.
Glad you are getting to visit with your other daughter soon, we miss those kids a lot when they are away from us.
Sorry about Jim's lip Phoebe, hope he feels better soon. Men are so stubborn, he should have gone for stitches if needed.Hope your sinus' are better this morning.
I sent my husband to the doctor yesterday and he has an upper respitory infection. I feel better today, I think I am fighting a cold. I started taking Zucol, which is an over the counter pill that really works to stop the cold. It is raining again, going to stop this afternoon and then rain again. I hate this weather.
:grumble:
My son told me this morning they want everyone on the train to start wearing masks on their commute to and from work. This swine flu is making everyone nervous. :frown: They cancelled the Mexico port on my daughter's cruise next week, which is for the best. I wish she would just cancel, but she won't.
Time for coffee, breakfast and then some exercise. :drinker:
Talk to you later,
Sandy0 -
oh Sandy - I agree with you - i wish your daughter would just cancel her trip......I'm not big on travelling outside the US ever..........Sorry your hubby is sick! We sell a natural product for upper respiratory infec. - it's for animals, but i use it all the time and raised both my boys on it - want some?????? I keep forgetting to ask you how he's doing - i know you said he tends to get very depressed when you lose a pet......:frown:
Marie - can't wait to hear about that tryke! Sounds so fun.
Jeffrey - you're just going to melt away! Another inch - that's wonderful! So glad you'll have Sam home for a bit!
Sorry i missed some of you - i'll try and be back later!
Happy Thursday:drinker:0 -
GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON.
First...welcome to the new members who have joined us here.....You are going to love it here.
I went to Target this morning to get some fish oil....Odorless....tasteless....no fish burps......well that $18 bottle ended up costing me almost $75... But I did put almost 3000 steps on my pedometer so that is good...
Everything is going well with me and I hope it is going well for you all also..
Have a terrific Thursday.:flowerforyou:0 -
BigG - everytime i go to Target the same thing happens to me! There's ALWAYS stuff we "need" at Target!!!!!!
As of this morning i've lost 1 1/2 of the 2 pounds i put on last weekend. sheesh!
This afternoon i'm off to the dentist AGAIN - for the permanent of the second crown. I think i need to stop here.......at least for now. Everything else will have to wait. Hopefully i'll feel well enough after that to hit the gym, AFTER the bank and the grocery store!
Have a great rest of the day everyone!0 -
Hey guys I am thinking about a hmr f Which one shall I get.
Marie0 -
Hi everyone. Glad my work week is over, I am pooped after a busy day. It will be soup and sandwiches for dinner.
I just wanted to pop on to tell you that Neil's Dr. says the infection is gone but yes there is an ischemic area. He expects it to heal so we are going with that. I asked him how long before the next surgery and he laughed and said 'after this, I am surprised you are asking!". However, Neil wants to get it over with so I think we should get it done. I have told the Dr. that I am sending Neil home with him after the next one so he likely isn't too anxious to get it done.
I am going to put my feet up for a bit before dinner and will be back either tonight or tomorrow. Take care everyone!0 -
Good Evening Everyone.
Busy morning with exercising and getting ready for my meeting. Ran some errands after my meeting and got home in time to make dinner. So I had a porterhouse steak with a salad and when I checked the calories it is telling me over a 1000, could that be right? I thought I ate really good today but I have to admit the steak was 1.5 or something which is a pound correct? I think I will sit down and cry and never have another steak.
Thursday night is my TV night so I will be back later tonight after my shows.

It’s late and I’m expecting a phone call so I’ll be brief.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I met some of my goals for April
*lose 4 pounds----I lost 10 pounds
*keep doing what’s been working---I exercised and logged my food but I completely ignored the strength training I been doing so faithfully
*add squats to my workout---I think I did them for a few days then forgot about them.
Phoebe---I like carnation instant breakfast. When we were on our trip and staying in a hotel, we brought the blender to make protein shakes and then realized that we couldn’t run the blender for breakfast at 7AM so we had instant breakfast made with soy milk instead. It was delicious. Hope Jim’s lip heals fast.
Jeffrey---your cruise sounds great---where are you going and when? Brandy and Sasha play with three Australian Shepherds at the dog park and they are wonderful dogs. Your daughter will have such fun.
Marie----I am anxious to hear how you do with your bike (trike)
Sandy---I hope you feel better soon. Sorry your hubby is sick. I think you’ll know when it’s time for a new dog. A friend of mine just cancelled her trip to Mexico. It looks like you learned a good lesson about steak. Don’t cry over steak. Just pick yourself up and be grateful for the lesson.
Elli
will you be working on the wiring again this weekend?
Biggramma---Walmart is a great place to take a long walk. Those fish oil pills sound great.
Gayla----you deserve a rest. You work so hard and take such good care of Neil.
Jake went to yoga today and he loved it. We won’t be able to go the class again for a month because of our trip but we’ll have our mats and the yoga DVD to take with us.
I’ll talk to you all again next month
