Congratulations Marie on more weight loss  All your hard work in planning and sticking to the 100 calorie meals is paying off

Good luck,Elli,at the fund raiser, and enjoy the rain

    Phoebe, glad you're home again

Beth, what awesome experiences you're having, thanks for sharing them with us

Sandy, glad to hear from you about Bryanna's performance

Biggramma--I've learned to not complain about the rain---it's so important----we had a small family farm in Hydesville, CA where it rained more than it does where you are and still we had to run the sprinklers a lot to keep things growing. We just did a major reseeding of our lawn and since there has been no rain for a few days we have to run our sprinklers.

I have to go pack our lunch to take with us to the lunch and dessert potluck----we don't trust the potluck to have food we can eat (yes we can eat it but we won't want to have to log all the calories of hamburgers, potato salad, beans, and chips

We'll be gone most of the day at a mostly sit and listen event so getting enough exercise when we get home will be a challenge. Jake slept through the night so I know his back is feeling better.

Have a happy day----:heart:

Good afternoon everyone! We have sunshine but quite a bit of wind (ever the weather'man'). I was going to hang my sheets out today but it is too windy so will leave them till tomorrow. I have a load of towels to do and I prefer the softness they get from the dryer so will do them today. I always feel a bit odd about hanging my clothes out on Sunday. Strange but I guess it comes from childhood. Clothes were usually washed on Monday at that time and it was so nice to see line after line of clothes flapping in the breeze. I really am not sure how we managed a house with 3 young girls only washing clothes once a week. I must not have been as sloppy then!!

Phoebe -- Welcome home!! Enjoy your all by yourself day!! I haven't had one of those in a long time but do love it when I get one. Are you only home for the weekend?

Marie-- Yahoo!! You are doing fabulous. It sounds like you found the diet that suited you. You asked about Neil's bike -- he rides an adult trike and loves it very much. He is quite particular about the t-shirts he takes to put on after his bath as the girls always comment on them. Yesterday the one he had on when he went in said "I am not stubborn, I am just always right". Of course he is so stubborn but the girls thought it would be a great shirt for their husbands and he really liked that. But . . . we were out of routine I guess, and we forgot his change of clothes in the car!! Poor guy had to put on his dirty clothes and change when we got home. He was not impressed. Today he is out on him bike. He went to the restaurant for lunch (by himself, but he always knows people there). He has called home twice and seems very happy.

Beth -- The guys are, indeed, very lucky to have you. I feel sad about the hazing and would like to bring that young guy home!! :brokenheart: I hope he starts feeling better about himself soon. I know you will be a great support to him. I hope the hula hoop gets there soon. As a kid I loved the hula hoop and was pretty good at it. I don't think I could keep it up now!! Good luck with it.

Elli -- I bet you are a wonderful doula. My massage therapist is a doula and loves it. Good luck on the run. You will make some animals very happy.

Barbie-- Glad that Jake had a better sleep. Enjoy the potluck. Good for you for packing your lunch.

Sandy -- Good for your Bryanna. I am glad you are having a busy weekend.

Biggramma -- I hope you get some rain, valleys should be green.

Jeffrey -- How is your new exercise equipment working out for you? Take it easy on the poor thing!!

I need to make a couple of appetizers to take to a bridal shower so I better get on zarr and do some looking. Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

Happy Sunday, it is a rainy, gloomy day here but it is finally supposed to really warm up at the end of the week.

Second day of competition was a clean sweep for Perserverance Dance Company!! Bryanna did a great job in the numbers she danced. Last day is today, thank goodness, I am beat.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and will speak to individually at another time. :flowerforyou:

I did go over in calories yesterday but not much, weight didn't change so I hope I am ok. Can't wait to get back on my eliptical and other exercises since I have been so bad. :grumble:

    Take care,
    Sandy

Good morning friends! omg - you are all SO right. I'm SORRY for complaining about the rain. I know we need it so badly! I'm sorry for you BGramma that it's so hot and dry you can watch things drying up. I HATE it when farmers lose their farms.....my best friend (Angela who works with me and does mfp too) and her husband farmed for 25 years and in 2000 went bankrupt:cry: We were all so sad....... Thank you again BG for thanking our troops - me too - from the bottom of my heart every day:heart:

Sandy - your Bryanna is AWESOME! You must get such joy watching her dance! You hung in there with her all weekend. You're such a trooper!!!!

Marie - 12 pounds!!!!! That is wonderful!:flowerforyou: that diet is REALLY working for you!

Gayla - I've seen people on the adult trykes. Does Neil's have a basket? We have a devep. disabled woman, Jackie, who lives in the small town east of where i live. She doesn't ride a bike - she walks - all over town and everyone knows her. She goes into her regular stores and gets a pop, or a sucker or has lunch........it's good. I'm so glad Neil is beng able to get out and about! I hang my sheets too, whenever the weather allows. I LOVE how it makes the whole bedroom smell!!!!!!! I love being a doula - if i had my life to do over NOW i know i would have been a homebirth midwife. Being a doula isn't my livlihood - and i don't do it very often anymore (sleep deprivation takes a toll nowadays! ) but it still is the work of my heart.

The fundraiser went well yesterday - thank you all who asked - we raised some money and some supplies for the critters at the humane society. I had a good day just hanging out with the girls too (freshmen in hs).

Today it's really starting to look like spring here - which is good - because i'm realizing how weather related my eating seems to be! Yesterday, once again, i ate everything that wasn't nailed down after i got home......it was bad guys - REALLY bad:grumble:  :noway: This morning before i got out of bed i decided "attitude adjustment" and so far i feel great! Granted - it IS only 9am! But i'm off this morning to pick up all our electrical wiring stuff at home depot with my friend Jennifer - later on this afternoon my niece and her fiance are coming over to borrow the pick up for a move. Hopefully i can fit the gym in sometime in between!!!!!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone. Lets live this day with an attitude of gratitude!!!!!! You're all awesome:heart: elli:flowerforyou:

Hi this Beautiful Sunday Morning, It is just fantasstic here this morning.

OK Gayla and Elli what is a doula? Gayla I check out the trike on the web and it is something I might like. For there is no way I can balance my self on a regular bike, Jerry goes bike riding everyniht. No matter how cold it is. He doesn't go in the rain tho. so glad that Neil has gained some independent of getting out of the house. He must be doing a whole lot better. We all just had our little walk in, Jerry, Sammy, Calie and myself. Sammy chase a squiral up a tree. He loves for me to go with him. We found another little Jack Russell. around the corner . Didn't make it that far this morning. My legs felt like a ton of bricks, But will try another time later on today.

Sandy good of you to take time out to check in with us. Good luck!

Barbiecat, I had a nice breakfast of chopped veggies / egg beaters and a Wedge of lauhing cow, sl. whole wheat toast. Yum. Went over on my calories a little bit but my yogurt I had earlier had only 80 calories. so that should even it out.Got to get it in my food chart so I know exactly where I stand.

Jeffrey---Lose that lb so you will hit the 70 lb mark. I am lookinf for my 15 lb mark. Only 3 to go.

    Phoebe---How your sewing coming along?

Big g---How you doing my friend?

Beth---Have you got your little hut name?

    Jake---Keep on a rolling along.

I think this diet is working so good for me is that I am stickin to it.

    Everybody have a nice Sunday

You know Marie, I was thinking - they should put that diet at doctor's offfices and stuff like that.. it would be great for a diabetic, wouldn't it? it would give them a way to feel they are in control, and not deprived. I can't see anything wrong with that plan, except that sometimes you'd have a meal of one food.. green beans  But, a lot of them!!
Gayla, great to here from you, I love hearing about your life, and about your family. I'm glad Neil is doing so well. Yes, I do love my solitude.
Hi to all of you, I want to be brief, need to stay off of the pc today, and sew sew sew..
I have tendonitis in both wrists, (not yet carpal tunnel they say), and I realized yesterday that it now limits some of my activities. It hadn't really done that before, except opening jars.
Hand sewing is ok but only if it is light weight and I have to pin everything, instead of holding the fabric together with my hands. Safety pins are becoming Not my friends!
    Enough whining, back to it
    have a great day

Phoebe< I never have a mini meal of just one food. I try to have a carb, veggie and protein at every meal. Yogurt is the only one i eat just by it self and it is a complete food. and I love hummus and laughing cow with the mini pitas. I really just love this way of eating. I guess because i like to eat all the time. but I am in control of it. now instead of eating the whole thing.. Have you try it yet?

    Get that sewing done

Hi to you all. I am on the run so will be brief. I have to run to the store to pick up a few things to make my appetizers for the bridal shower tonight. My nephew's bride to be! The wedding will be in Virginia and we were planning to go but with the infected toe we decided to stay put. We will take a big holiday though next winter and will appreciate the warmth then. I am making a cheese dip (queso blanco) and for a more diet friendly choice little rounds of bread with cream cheese and a cucumber sitting on top (one of Neil's favorite treats). Both are quick and easy, just to get the stuff.
Neil is much happier, even just the idea that he can go out if he wants to makes him happy. I think he and his buddy are going to a movie later. I wanted to tell you, Marie, that the first adult trike he had came from a senior who was no longer able to use it. We have been through a few since then but you are right, I do see many seniors using them.
We had a beautiful rain during the night and it looks fresh and bright with the lovely sun shining.
Now I must run, back atcha tomorrow. Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday. You deserve it.]

Hi Gayla, you little appetisers sounds delicous. Might have known Neil would like the ones wih cucumbers. Me too.. You sound so much better and Happy now. The old saying "if momma happy everybody happy' Hope you have fun at the party. Kathy made a good dip last week for Easter. She used finely grated cheese. mayo and chopped pickle jaopena [misspell] did spread a little on a cucumber and it was good. they left not a drop. Better for me than coconut cake, which I passed by.
    Have a good time tonight.

    Happy Sunday to All,

We did well yesterday by bringing our own lunch. The tacos and dessert potluck looked delicious but we were happy with our whole grain crackers, hummus, hard boiled egg, tomato, and apple. I still managed to spend some time on the exercise bike and burn some calories when we got home.

Today was better. Jake was able to go to the dog park and walk with me for half an hour.  I sweated to the oldies and walked the dogs on the hill.

It got warm and sunny this afternoon so we took a ride in the red car with the top down.

    Big hugs to everyone

    Good Morning One and All!

Wow! Everyone had a good weekend! We were busy. Day had to work. I had lunch with Sam and she conned me out of a blouse. Brought the new elliptical home. It is great! I did get the lawn mowed and it is probably the best looking lawn we have had for this early in the year. Joe, the new cat, is doing fine. He is getting along just fine with the others. He really likes terryaki chicken! He now sleeps on my pillow. (He is getting just a little spoiled) I think that I am going to start riding my bike home from work again. It is a pretty good ride, about 21 miles. Day drops me and the bike off at work and I ride home. Works out pretty good. Usually it takes me about an hour and 15 or 20 minutes.

It is wonderful to hear from everyone!

Beth- Glad you got "upgraded" in the quarters! Good for you!

Barbie- I am happy you like the "oldies"

Marie- What can I say? 12 and climbing! You are moving now girl! Keep a going!

Gayla- I have had the same trouble with my teeth. Stress on my end too. I have had 15 root canals and crowns on 12 different teeth. I have 2 folders at the dentist. Breathe deep and just go somewhere else in your mind! I was happy to hear you had a better weekend. Good for Neil!

Jake- Take it easy. Better a little longer healing than having to start over on it again.

Sandy- A new week is a head!

Pheobe- I have been worried about you. We have not heard from you in a bit. Glad your back.

    BG- Stay cool!

I hope I did not miss anyone! Keep on with the yoga!
Tonight is my plyometrics work out. (jump training) I really like it. It burns a ton of calories, about 950 in 50 minutes, but it is exhausting.

GOOD MORNING FROM VERY WARM CALIFORNIA....

Yesterday it was 93...it tied a record that was set in 1950.....and there will be more of the same today....

The only plans I have today is laundry....and watching very closely what I eat....I have a doctors appointment in the morning and want the weigh as low as possible when I go.....

I don't remember what my weight was on my last visit in January....She wants me to weigh 130...but I really don't want to get that low....I feel fine where I am....but I try very hard not to gain....

Tomorrow after my appointment I have plans to meet some of my former co-workers at Red Robin for lunch and am really looking forward to that...It has been several months since I have gone out to eat...Sure glad it is after my appointment and not before.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday......:flowerforyou:

Everyone is talking about food!! That's ok, I'd have to cook it to have it, so I'll be alright.
Still sewing.. got a lot done, ran out of fabric, have to wait for the ebay seller to ship it to me.
I overspent on fabric this month.. just cant resist sometimes.. some are really good deals and some are really what I like.. usually not the really good deal ones!!
Jeffrey, so glad Joe is your big buddy.. Pudge is my little guy.. I adore him, so glad we kept him.. he is willing to be the 'weaker' in the lion/cat pride. I forgot the word I wanted.. opposite of dominant..what is it somebody??
Marie, did you really pass up coconut cake.. you are strong!! I got some 100 calorie little debbie treats..one is a snowball type, small but would be satisfying to a coconut craver.
Gayla, so glad you're having some good days, and that Neil is happy.. is it spring there yet?
I googled those adult trikes.. I really like them, I found two at wal mart .com to check out.. it says they have them in the store.
Biggramma, I am so sorry that it is getting so hot already.. I don't like the heat, but it feels better at 90 there than it does at 90 here. Have fun dining out, red robin is good stuff.
ok, time to cut more fabric, different project, different fabric.
    be good!

Well we broke a 59 year old record today...it was 96.......our over night low is going to be in the low 60's....I know that our low is higher than a lot of your high temps.....and this would feel very good to you...

I am really not complaining...because it is going to get a lot hotter before the summer is over....we have over 100 degrees many many days......The main problem with the heat for me is the air quality..it is very poor.....

It is going to cool off this weekend...

Hope you all had a good Monday....:flowerforyou:

    Happy Monday:flowerforyou:

This was a great Monday for me. This is my weigh in day and I lost 3 pounds this week!   A new advanced line dance class started today. A woman who winters in Arizona returned to Washington for the summer and restarted the class she teaches in her garage. There are eight of us---there may be more when some other people come back from California and Arizona in May. One woman announced to the class that she noticed that I had “re-invented myself” Wasn’t that a nice thing to say?

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey---what a great plan you have for riding your bike home from work---will it be too hot later in the summer for you to do that? What is the route like
busy streets, country roads? I’m so glad you let Joe sleep with you. Cats are such good company.

:flowerforyou: Biggramma, if you’re eating healthy and exercising, your body may pick its own weight even if the doctor has other ideas. I hope you ate smart at Red Robin. I still don’t feel safe eating in a restaurant. My friend in San Jose told me that it was in the 90’s at her house and they’re having trouble with their air-conditioning. Hope you have some good ways to stay cool We finally had a really spring like day today. It was in the high 60’s and I didn’t have to wear a jacket this afternoon when I went to the dog park. Later I went out and pulled weeds in my yard.

:flowerforyou: Marie---I know you’ll use your stimulus money wisely. I’ll bet your diabetic doctor will love your new diet. It is full of healthy foods and it is helping you take off weight.

:flowerforyou: Phoebe---I can’t even have sweet treats in the house because I can’t resist them. Fortunately Jake and I have agreed to have only healthy food in the house. Our afternoon treat was Wasa crackers with spicy pepper hummus. Your fabric projects sound like fun. I love fabric stores but I don’t really do fabric crafts but I am still tempted to buy stuff.

We're planning to relax and watch a movie tonight and maybe I'll get on the exercise bike.

    big hugs,:heart::heart: :heart:

It is late so I am hoping you are all tucked in your beds. This was the last day of my holidays, have to wait another 4 weeks for my next mini-holiday. We did the usual Monday running around. Neil has finished his antibiotics, 4 days ago, and his foot is looking infected again. I spoke with his surgeon this afternoon and he is going to see him tomorrow. It means he misses what was supposed to be his first day back to work. He was disappointed about that but handled it ok.
Time to get ready for bed, do my massage in my chair and read my book then I will sleep like a baby.
    Take care, Gayla

I am sure most of you will be reading this in the morning, but I did write a post early today and then accidently deleted everything. :grumble: I was really tired from the competition but they did a clean sweep and won their teacher a cruise for having the highest scores in the competition.

My husband and I went to pick out a head stone for Freeway today but have already changed our minds and will order a different one on Wednesday. He is a fanatic about taking care of all of our dog's graves at the pet cemetery. It keeps him busy but he is waiting for good weather since it has been raining the last two days. :explode:

Everyone sounds like they are doing great. Jeff, good for you on being able to ride a bike for over an hour. I doubt that I could do that, I get exhausted on my eliptical after 45 minutes.

Marie, you are doing great on your diet, your doctor will be so proud.

Gayla, I am so sorry about Neils foot, I hope it is not infected, he was just starting to go out. At the competition yesterday they had a special dance with special needs kids, it was so exciting and so emotional. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. We gave them the biggest standing ovation and screamed so loud for them. I think the other dancers all realized they took dancing for granted and it gave them humility.

Barbie, congratulations on the 3 pound weight lose. I am afraid to get on the scale since I have been so bad in my exercise. You really work hard so you deserve a special treat, which I know you won't do.
Give those pups of yours a big hug for me.

Bgamma, I would love some of those hot days, although 96 is a bit much. I hope you are keeping cool and staying inside when you can.

I know I missed some people but it is late here and I am very tired. I will catch up with you tomorrow.
    Everyone have sweet dreams.

its raining again... the run started out with somewhat chilly weather ( like the good to run in kind) then when from there to pouring rain... I now have some wet sneakers that need to be dried and will have ot wear the ones I am not liking too much tomorrow.

I will write more to y'all later I am sitting at work waiting on blue prints to fall and I can hear the Engineers yelling they are printing so I better get at it.

Good Morning! (Except for Beth, Good Evening!)

Cold and dreary here again today. We may have snow tonight then up to 81 by Saturday! This Saturday is my wife's b-day. Any ideas? We went to Sam's Club last night on the way home from work and loaded up with staples, fish, and such. We both got a pretty good workout in too, so it was a busy evening. I hope to have a quiet weekend and get some yard work done.

Beth- Take care of those feet!

Sandy- Get some rest. You and your husband have had a tough week.

Gayla- Sorry about Neil's foot. Hang in there kid!

Marie- It is a good ride home and a wonderful "pre workout, workout". Good luck on the Dr visit!

Barbie- The route I travel on my bike is a little of everything. Some heavy traffic in the city, some flat land and some hills. The hilly part is at the end and that really makes you reach down for extra effort. I try to hold a cadence ( peddals per minute) of 72 but towards the end of the ride I am usually below that pace. Joe is getting to be great company. The other cats seems to be pretty much ok with him. The oldest cat, Cuddles, is 18 years old and just does not want bothered, period! I have taught him to set up on command and sit on command. We are working on shaking hands. LOL I have taught all the cats tricks through the years. Bud, my old tom cat would play dead on command. It was really funny. Coco, the one my daughter took with her to Atlanta, will fetch and return small toys. I don't think that Amanda has her doing that now.

Elli, Pheobe- Where you all at??

BG- I love the heat! I always ride my bike when it gets over 90! But I know how hard it is for those that struggle with it. You hang in there and stay cool!

    Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Jeffrey---so glad to hear that Joe is getting along with the other felines. You really do love cats, don't you. My Caliecat fends for herself. Oh she loves to sleep on the bed and be petted when she wants to be. but she has never learn any tricks. She like to bring her prey into the house. Birds are the worst for Jerry has a rought time catching them.

Sandy---You have had a busy week and under a lot of stress. Just jump back on the wagon and carry on.

Lafla--- sorry to hear Neil toes is infected again. Let us know what the doctor says. I was wondering if he would be able to go back to wok aain.

Phoebe---Hope you have a wonderful day. We got to take my new printor back to best this morning. It is not working right. Waiting on Alice to come out this weekend to help us with our new vcr and dvd player. We are just not hip on all this new stuff.

Barbie and Jake--that weight is just fallen off of you. I know you are really happy about that and I am happy for you. glad Jake is on the mend and you will be able to take that motor trip.

BigG---Been enjoying your daily post. I look forward to hear from you.

    elli--- busy girl

Good morning...it is already hot here.....but it is a dry heat...not that humid stuff other parts of the country get....

My doctors appointment went well this morning....my thyroid numbers are perfect...she said....

I was up one pound from when I saw her in January but she was not worried about that...she is happy that I am 11 pounds down from when I first her a year ago.....She even told me to enjoy my lunch at Red Robin today....

I am looking forward to my lunch...It has been months since I have eaten out....I always have my burger dry and on a whole grain bun.....I never eat mayo....Just mustard....I am however really looking forward to the fries....their fries are great....so I will be drinking a lot of water to wash the sodium out...:drinker: :drinker:

Hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday.....:flowerforyou:

BigG--- glad you had your hamburger and fries. And that you enjoy them. I went to the store this afternoon and miss one of my 100 calorie mini meals so I pulled into sonic and got a small ice cream cone. It cost me 180 calories ao I had to by passed my next mini meal. but it was worth it. Can't do that to often. I am going to half to take my mini meals with me like Barbie does. Or carry a plastic spoon with me and get me a 100 calorie yogurt. there's a way to work it.e more healty than an ice cream cone.

Hope you thought of all of us as you were eating it.
