Go to go right by the post office as I o to get a ekg I think thats what it is called the test where they wire you up and check you heart I like to put taco sauce on mine. or just mixed it up in some shedded greens. Have a wonderful day.
Sandy I thought of you this morning when I read one of my e-mail and it was talking about the Mediterranean Diet. Said you could have a glass of wine. That you would like.
Jeffrey---Hey you are a busy guy.
Babiecat and Jake--You two are something else. You are really enjoy life. Love you both
Alli---so nice Dakota came by this morning. I can't begin to keep up with you. Have fun doing all the things you do.
Lafla---so nice to hear from you. Are your kids coming to spend the night this Easter to hunt for eggs. I bet you thought I forgot, but this old mind still work a little. I thought that was cute when you told me about it last year. Happy Easter Egg hunt.
Phoebe--- What are you up to? Haven't seen you around in a day or so. Hope all is well.
BG---Have a nice dinner with you son.
As far as my day went yesterday I got off quack by being out of the house yesterday. But back on track this morning. Its hard to handle things when I am not at home. We did our grocer shopping yesterday. but so far I love this. It will take me time to get adjusted. Getting all my food and there calories and will type it up , make a copy and put it on the fridge for easy reference.
Love you all Marie0 -

The weather here is no prize today but because it was drizzling at noon, we were the only ones at the dog park. I didn’t take my “naughty girls” to the dog park this morning because yesterday they ignored me for 20 minutes after I first tried to get them on the leash. After line dance I had a change of heart and took them.
Thanks, Jeffrey, for the idea about “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” I found it on Amazon and ordered it and it should be here early next week. I’m still thinking about yoga---I know you’re right about how good it is for you, I just can’t get past the idea of slow and quiet. I’m trying to stay open minded.
Elli---best of luck with the dentist---you’re so upbeat to think that having a hole in your mouth is a good weight loss plan
Sandy, Passover starts at sundown tonight and lasts for eight days. We used to be a lot more observant and attend a community seder and do a lot of ritual stuff but since we moved here we haven’t gotten connected to the Jewish community so our observance is totally home based. The thing we do is observe the dietary restrictions pretty well
we’ll eat lamb and refrain from eating grains. This is a time when we remember our history and reflect on all the people in the world who still aren’t completely free.
Our dogs rarely play with other dogs at the dog park. I take them so they can run off leash since we don’t have a fenced yard.
Beth---I can’t wait to hear about the hula hoop when you get it.
Marie---keep up the good work with the 100 calories meals---pretty soon you’ll have a bunch of them that you can repeat and it will get easier----your salad sounds great.
Jake has a terrible cold  and has decided to open the hide a bed in the living room and get in bed with the dogs and turn on the TV
Big hugs to all of you ((((( ))))

hi everyone - i did hot yoga tonight and then came home and ate a lean cuisine and some steamed cabbage. I ended up like 400 calories short - but i can't just sit here and eat all that food! I'm sure it's fine.
Barbie - yoga can be slow - but i still think it's the best work out ever. It's just good for everything - your internal organs included. The hot yoga that i do burns between 600 and 1200 calories in the 90 minute class. It's probably the best/hardest workout i've ever done!
Sandy, ohh, it's so hard with our ill/aging petsthey're such family. He's adorble. I'm so glad for him that he was rescued by you and yours and has had a great life. It's just so sad when we lose them......hang in there. I'm thinking about you.
Hi Marie - yes yes, i was so happy to see my "little" boy this morning! My boys make me happy - i feel so blessed. He was excited to see how much progress we've made on the house too so that was fun!
Jake - hope you're feeling better. When i'm sick i want nothing more than to crawl into bed with my little dashchund, hercky, and snuggle!
Well - i better get to bed so i can get up tomorrow morning! I'm working, then going to look at a camper with my friend who is helping with the house. Then we're going to comparison shop for appliances.......:indifferent: shopping makes me crazy! have a good night everyone!!!!!elli

good evening everyone, just about to shut down for the week. We are leaving in the morning. Marie, you are right, I've been busy around here the last couple of days. Jim had a dr. appt for va stuff.. it took about 3 hours in Atlanta. I had an eye exam and got the laundry done. Today, I went to Ikea. I've never been before, but I saw some things on their website, so I wanted to check it out. It is a fun place, I will go again, and again
Then after I got home, I got busy cleaning a bit. A little here and there and one day,, (I'm dreaming), everything will look like a normal person's house!
Beth, I think the Wii game system has a hula hoop 'workout'.. it looks like fun, I don't have one, but I think someone else on this thread does. Another idea born from your hula hoop suggestion- belly dancing!!
take care all, got to get some zzzzz's0 -
Good morning everybody, I'm up early this morning. Gonna have a nice cup of coffee befor Jerry and Sammy get up. Sammy Don't wake up dtill the sun come up. He is no dummy.
We are having our Easter dinner Saturday , a good thing for the rain is due in Sunday. It would have been a muddy mess out there in the country. I wonder how much coconut cake I can have for 100 calories. very little. I will be taking chopped veggies , lettuce and spray dressing. along with the cake.
Jakehope you are feeling better now.
Sandy-- Keep up the good work. you are doing great.
ElliMy dear friend, You are just so busy. How do you keep up with yourself.
PhoebeOne of my dearest friend. glad you are getting off work again. The VA can take up a lot of time. Thankfully Jerry don't have far to drive about a 30 minuet drive I have never been to Ikea .My 100 calorie diet is working out pretty well. I like nibbling all day long
Barbie::flowerforyou: So wonderful having you around. You have help me so much . Thank you.
Beth----So interesting reading about your life overseas. .Thanks for putting me on your group E-mail and what a long list you have.
Big G-:flowerforyou: --Hi there really is nice having you back.
Lafla--it is really an honor having you join us. So I can keep hearing about your wonderful family.
Jeffrey:flowerforyou: HI coach--having a nice day in Indiana today.? Its nice havinng someone like you here to help us.
See you guys later

Good Morning Everyone!
Rise and shine! Very cool but the sun is shining here! I am working only a half day today so I can go with my wife to take Amanda back to the airport in Indianapolis for her return home. It has been such a joy to have her at home these few days.
Elli- Last night was my yoga night too. I am sore today. The twisting half moon just rips me!
Barbie- let me know how you like the "oldies".
Everyone else- have the best day ever! I will check in later!
Jeffrey0 -
Jeffrey How is Joe getting along with the others?0
-
Hi Marie!
We had to wait to get Joe until Saturday. He had to be micro chipped and have his blood work redone to get released to us. Amanda and I went to visit him Tuesday and had him out with some other cats there and he did great. He seems to be a real mellow soul. We probably could have gotten him today but the airport trip knocked that out. I will keep you posted. I suspect we will get a lot of hissing and staring but they will adapt. LOL They will be "supervised" the first day or two pretty heavy. I hate to go to the shelter to visit him. I want to bring all the animals home. My wife says I am nuts! LOL Someone dumped 2 puppies that they had there and if I did not know that she would have wrung my neck I would have had them too!
We are going "Joe" shopping Friday night. Food dish, water bowl, bed, mat, toys, collar, and a name tag with his address and phone number. I hope he likes to workout! LOL He will just as spoiled as the other 2 (Cuddles and Stinker) in a day or two!
Have great day Marie!
Jeffrey0 -
hi everyone - happy thursday!
Phoebe - what is Ikea? Are you headed back out on the road? Where are you going? Do you have a dedicated run or do you always go someplace different?
Marie - that's so cute that Sammy sleeps in! Hercky will also as long as I am. Once i'm up though so is he. The other 2 dogs are always ready to rock and roll. Hercky's my mellow one. Oh good - i'm glad you're having your Easter dinner on Saturday so hopefully you'll miss the mud bogging. Ugh - i can't STAND the mud:noway: everything gets so dirty! Between the dirt road i live on and my driveway my car is always yucky! I don't know how i keep up with myself:laugh: as long as i can have a little "down time" at night i'm all right. I'm missing some things in my life right now because of my house that i hope to get BACK to once the house is done.
Jeffrey - hmmmmmm, twisting half moon......we do half moon pose (it's part of a 3 part pose, half moon, back bend and standing head to knee) and we do spine twist at the very end - but not a combination twisting half moon! It's a GREAT sore though don't you think? I'm so glad you had Amanda for a few days - these grown up kids are just the BEST! Oh, i'm with you on the humane society - i can't STAND going there. Although if and when the day comes that i ever get another dog that's probably where i would head..............and HOPEFULLY just come home with ONE DOG!!!!
Well, i better get to work now since i have to leave early to appliance shop:indifferent: yuck - shopping!
You guys are all the BEST!!!!!!!!! elli0 -
I am late today. :frown: I took my son to the airport this morning and then had a meeting. After I went to run a couple of errands and here it is almost 5:00pm.
Time to make dinner soon, my husband and I like to eat by 6:00.
Jeffrey good luck with your new "joe", it sounds like he will have a great home with responsible parents. I can't go to the shelter either because I know I would want them all. I am going to check my Wii coach later to see what she does in yoga and will let you know.
Elli, I will answer for Phoebe, Ikea is a home store, they have everything from furniture to household odds and ends. You can check at Ikea.com.Good thing you have lots of property for those three dogs, they also are very lucky to have you as an owner. :flowerforyou:
Marie, I agree, glad that you are having your dinner Saturday so you don't have to deal with any mud.
I hate rain and mud more than I hate snow.
I will check in with everyone later, my pup is having some anxiety because I am on the computer. :frown:0 -
hi Sandy - thanks for explaining Ikea to me! I better not look right now - i'm feeling pretty overwhelmed as it is after looking at 4 different places at appliances.........i'm just not good at this! :noway: How's your little pooch doing? It's just hard when they're not well..........i have all the dogs inside with me tonight - some nights the big dogs sleep outside, but on the days i don't get to walk them i like them to be in with Hercky and me.........i miss 'em! I have to agree with you about the mud........bleah!
way worse than ice and snow..........
Well - i hope everyone is having a great night - i worked out again tonight after my adventures in appliances.......now i'm about ready for bed:yawn: elli0 -
A quick reply from sunny Saskatchewan!! The snow is rapidly disappearing, Yeah!! It was shirt sleeve weather for us, likely parka weather for you. I think it was around 40F. I have to tell you that yesterday morning when it was about 34F I saw a guy out jogging in his shorts. I call that crazy. I am now on holidays until April 21. I do need to get some Spring cleaning done, just have to find the motivation to do it. I am hoping that I can hang some clothes outside this week, especially bedding. I think that is one of my favorite Spring things. Garden planting is a month away, I am taking another week off in May to get started on yard work. I left the yard in a mess last fall as snow came so early. I will have all the dead plants to pull up and then replant all my planters and annuals.
We just finished watching Curling again and Canada lost their first game. Boo!!
Neil saw the Dr. on Tuesday and his toe is once again infected. He is now on a diff. antibiotic. The black part on the tip has mostly fallen away and wonder of wonders it looks quite nice underneath. The nail has nearly come off but I will be patient and let it fall away on its own. He had a bad day yesterday but today has been quite good. The behavior seems closely related to the seizure activity. I often wonder why one person ends up with so many medical problems. It seems so unfair but we try not to dwell on that. After all, what is fair?? and who said life is fair, anyway??
Marie, you asked about Easter dinner. I am not sure yet what is happening, I have to get that firmed up with the rest of the family. With the big move on this weekend (Gregg) I am not sure. I will be baking a ham for sure and may end up taking it to the new house. If not, everyone will be here. I don't think there will be an Easter egg hunt this year. We usually do it because Neil enjoys it so much but it isn't much fun without everyone here. The boys know how much Neil enjoys it so they usually try to do it. We will hide a few eggs for Neil and he will be happy with that.
Phoebe -- As always, drive safely.
Thinking of you all. Take care and keep smiling. Gayla0 -
Hi all,
No rain here in the mountain area of Afghanistan... but it does look nasty up in the higher areas...so hope that just stays snow up there and leaves us alone. This place is so jam packed with people from other countries its like a mini-NATO meeting. I do however have to say after seeing a lot of the uniforms that people wear from their countries...ours looks pretty dang good in comparison...the French...they have some horrible mushroom looking hat they have to wear, I would call it a beret but its huge! The guys are all taken with the Egyptian women and tell me if they get hurt they want to go to the Egyptian hospital for treatment. They even have a Polish compound here on base...Its been very interesting to talk to everyone (as you know I have NO problems talking to people)
Jeff, I ordered the hoop so I figure a couple weeks I will have it... I talked one of the other girls into hula hooping with me...she said something about doing it at 4am so no one could see us. Hope everything goes well with your Joe after you get him.
Elli I am good with the rain at this point because I watched a total white out up on the mountains yesterday...so rain good...snow heck no!
Sandy, I hope everything goes well at the Vet I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Marie, I will let you know when the package arrives there is no telling how long things take we are still waiting for our bags to be delivered here and its been 2 weeks already...lets hope mail is faster. I am going to leave you on my family email if that is OK for you I know some doesnt apply but its just easier to send email to a group.
Phoebe, I think the roommate is all into the belly dancing idea but she is 12 years younger and the size of a peanut...so we may have to invest in a DVD.
Lafla, How is Neil doing with this antibiotic? I am sure that even with all his medical problems he knows y'all love him to pieces and is happy.
As to all of you who do or want to try yoga.. I love it. I have a morning yoga DVD that I like to do... I am more into the flow yoga but it is relaxing and does give you a work out.!
Enjoy your day all...its Friday morning here so that means one more day and I might get a day off...first whole day in 44 days...I may just sleep it away

It's late here for me. I just got off the phone with my best friend whose husband had surgery today and had some complications. She is trying to stay calm and trust God and the doctors to take care of him overnight.
Jake is still down with the cold and likes me to stay near him so I've not been on the computer much today---I did get to line dance, 20 minutes on the exercise bike, and 50 minutes at the dog park after lunch.
We had beautiful New Zealand lamb chops in honor of Passover ( small chops instead of a whole leg like we bought last year)
Marie--I'm happy to hear that you are going to stick to your eating plan even at Easter dinner. Your health and your waistline will thank you for that.
Jeffrey---my "Oldies" DVDs will be here on Monday. I found a phone number to call about a yoga class.
Joe is such a lucky cat to have found you and Cuddles and Stinker. I can't wait ot hear about all his adventures.
Elli---I'm so glad your dogs are all inside with you----dogs are such a comfort---there's a great children's book called "Five Dog Night" or something like that about a man who can gauge the temperature in the winter by how many dogs get in bed with him at night.
:flowerforyou: Sandy---how is your dog doing ?
Gayla---hearing about your weather in Saskatchewan makes me grateful for the relative "mildness" of the weather in Washington. Hope things get better for Neil. He is such a trouper with all his medical challenges.
Beth---you seem to be able to find all the interesting things about your life in Afghanistan. Thanks for sharing with us.
Now off to bed. the naughty dogs like to get up at 6:30 and they expect me to get dressed and take them out then.
Sweet dreams to all.
Barbie0 -
Good Morning!
Elli- Yes I agree! Some of those poses cause "damage"! But yoga will be in my workout routine forever.
Gayla- Enjoy your Easter! Breathe deep and enjoy the time with your family.
Barbie & Jake- I hope your Passover is peaceful. Keep me posted on the "Oldies" and such!
Sandie- I really think that you will get a lot out of the yoga, but it does take a little time to embrace it. I think that it should be mandatory for anyone over 50 just for the balance benefits. You will do great with it. Keep me posted!
Beth- I hope you get your day off! And if you just want to sleep, do it! LOL As I think about you over there I want you to know that you will be in our prayers and that we think of you and all the others frequently. Thank you so very much for your service. Elli- the same for your son too. Enjoy the hula hoop! Things that require the hips to move are just not my fortee'. LOL It is a sight that really should not be even a mental image!
Marie, PJ, BG and all the rest have a great Good Friday!
We got Amanda to the airport yesterday. I miss her already. I spoke a bit with Sam and she is doing fine. She will be home for a while in a about a month. Not a lot outside of that to report.
Everyone remember your blessings, for they truly are many...
Jeffrey710 -
Good Morning,
So good to hear from you Beth and I am glad finally stopped raining there. With so many different nationalities do you learn all the different languages or does everyone speak English? The hola hoop you ordered is weighted isn't it? I have never done a weighted hoop and even with the plastic one I no longer can keep it on my hips, which is funny since they are so much bigger now. I will be trying the yoga today, will let you know how it goes.
Elli, we take Freeway to the vet tomorrow, he is really having a hard time walking and I think his time is getting closer. Getting my husband to let go will be the hardest, he goes into such depression when we lose an animal. :brokenheart:
Lafla, what exactly is wrong with your son's toe? It sounds like gangrine, is he also diabetic? You must have the patience of a saint with all that you do. I do hope you have a wonderful Easter with family and can do those eggs for Neil.
Barb, I am sorry about your friends husband and hope everything turns out ok for him and your friend. I hope you have a wonderful Passover filled with peace.
Jeff, glad you got to spend time with your daughter Amanda and I am sure you are looking forward to spending time with Sam. You should be getting Joe today or tomorrow, that should help fill the void a little bit. I will be trying the yoga this morning, I just hope I understand all that she says.
Sitting for the almost 4 year old today, she will keep me hopping. Athough she likes me to sit on the floor with her and play with dolls. By the time I try to get up...........oh boy.
Will talk to you later, for those who observe Good Friday...................God Bless Us.0 -
Lafla-- How about all of these guys and gals on there exercise kick. I guess I will pull out my dancing to the oldies and see if I can move around some.Jerry and I used to go dancing a lot in our younger days. They seems to be really concern about Neil as I am. As one of them said he is a real trooper. Give him My [[hugs]]
Phoebe---I guess you and Jom is out on the roads. Are all the cats on the job too? How is the newest one getting along with your other two.?
Sandy--- you are really getting with it. Great girl.
Beth---I love being encluded in you family group. Take care.
Elli---How long have you been out of your house? I know you will be glad to get it all finish up When you do we will all come up and help you celebrate.
Barbiecat and Jake---Their is nothing like a sick man around the house. Take care of him.
Jeffrey---Joe come home tomorrow. How nice. Hope the others are not jealous of him.
Big G---Hey friend how are you doing.
I have a few things to do today for our dinner tomorrow. Make that coconut cake,go to store and get a bunch of stuff for salad. I will fix me a plate and just nibble on it to get it spread out during our stay there. Just hope the weather hold out. Kathy has 6 little ducks now that will be cute seeing them waddle around Also has 7 little puppies plus there other grown dogs. They all all cattle heading dogs. Hope I remember to take my camera.
Take care everybody

hi all!
Sandy - i'm excited for you to try yoga! Let us know how you like it! Are you going to a class? Or did you get a dvd? Sorry if you already told us - i've got an awful memory! Little Freeway is in my thoughts as are you and your hubby. My Dad and his wife just put their old cat down this morning and they're so sad.:brokenheart: :frown: It will probably be good for you to have the gd with you today. Careful getting up off the floor!
Hi Marie! awwwwwwww - baby ducks are SO cute! Then they grow into BIG ducks:laugh: One time we had about 25 of them - i called them "the marching band" 'cause they were always together marching around the property quacking and looking for water! I moved out of my house in January and HOPE to be back in sometime in Aug. please keep your fingers all crossed!Heck yes! please DO come celebrate!
Jeffrey - i have to agree - yoga is in my life to stay. My Mom did yoga up until she had a stroke 6 months before she died and she ALWAYS told me i needed to do it. It's a gift she left me with!Oh GOOD! Joe comes home tomorrow! Hope the other cats don't boss him around TOO much!
Barbie - i hope your friends husband is doing better. Always such scary stuff........:frown: The dogs and i had a good night together last night, although i wouldn't want them ALL in bed with me!
Beth - i was cracking up about the French mushroom beanies! Thank you for sharing that! Hope you're going to like the hoola hoop! I really liked it. Glad you have rain and not snow! Our friends who were staioned there were right on the Afgan/Pakistan border. Is that anywhere near where you are? You're Air Force right? Did you go to the Air Force Academy???? Who do your kids stay with when you're deployed? Sorry if i'm asking too many questions........Hope you get something special for Easter dinner.
I'm going to try and go to yoga this afternoon, that'll be my 6th day in a row working out. woo hooooooo! I know there will be some indulging on Sunday, and my weigh in is Monday so i'm trying to work out and eat really carefully the today and tomorrow! Tomorrow we have another wiring class also.
Everyone have a good Friday and a great weekend! Happy Easter/Passover!& hugs, elli

Ok, I did 45 mintues of yoga with my Wii Coach Instructor. At first I had no idea what she was doing but then as we did more I realized it was a lot like pilates. I did pilates for a while with my daughter in law. I didn't feel I got as good as a workout as when I do arobics but have to admit I think I am a little sore.
I didn't know how to add calories so when I put in yoga it only had stretching which is basically what I did in different forms. Once I get the hang of it I think it will be better. Just hope my form is correct.
Marie, it sounds like your daughter has a great place to live with all those animals. Please remember you camera and take pictures especially of those baby ducks.
Have to pick up my grand daughter now, her mother got stuck waiting for comcast to show up.
Talk to you later tonight after she is gone.0 -
Yea for Sandi!
Stay with it! As you progress you will see and feel results! I just pour water after 10 minutes on my routine and it last for an hour and a half. Most importantly you ventured out of your comfort zone! That is what change and progress is all about! YEA FOR YOU!
Jeffey
HAPPY EASTER AND PASSOVER TO ONE AND ALL!0 -
This Senior thread is getting so interesting. I have been going back and reading your post to be sure I don't missed anything. Nothing could be finer than a bunch of seniors.and our senior friends. I really appreciate all that you guys supporrt of one another.
Jerry and I have been out to get our will notoryrize. Trying to get everthing in order for our kids. We took it to our bank and we have to bring a couple of our neighbors as witness, so we will take care of that next week.
Barbie---I am beginning to like that spray dressing, at first I did not I got the ranch spray and I have found out if you chew on all those nice veggies you really enjoy it. I think before I like the rich dressing more than the veggies. I am a changing my ways . thank to you and all the others. Others discovery is hummus, and laughing cow light. Will be taking a big salad out to Kathy tomorrow for lunch. a roasted turkey breast. Leave the fatty ham off. A new way of eating for me.
Marie0 -
Marie - i hadn't eaten hummus in years but thanks to you talking about it i bought some! Having it for supper tonight! Thank you!0
-
Elli----What flavor did you feet. I got the roasted peppers? yum---Marie0
-
i just got the plain - but i think next time i'm going to try the black olive and garlic? roasted peppers sounds really good too!0
-
Thanks for the encouragment Jeffrey, I am going to incoroporate the eliptical, the floor arobics and the yoga into my weekly workouts. I hope to tone up a little before swim suit season, just cause I like the sun so much. I know, I know it is terrible for your skin but it is one of my vices.
Ok, Marie and Elli what the heck is hummus? I have heard of it but don't know what it is. :noway:
My husband and I have to update our wills also, we are on a second marriage and with each of having kids it makes things very complicated.
Had to get up from the floor, Marisa has me playing polly pockets, little tiny dolls that we dress and undress.
Got her interested in a kids show on TV to give myself a break.
Talk later..................0 -
Sandy--- Hummus is a spread made up of chic peas celery paste. etc. It is sold in the deli dept. Walmart carry it at a much lower price. 2 T is only 50 calories. Much lower than Peanut butter. I love it on whole wheat crackers. Think I will stuff some celery with it for dinner tomorow. That will be good. I also like the laughing cow sheese spread lite for only 35 calories per wedge.

Hi everyone! This thread moves very quickly. I went to the store to get some groceries for dinner Sunday. Sounds like the gang will be here. Tomorrow a friend of mine (I went through nursing school with) is going to be in town and wants to meet for lunch. Not sure if we will have lunch here or if I will get to go to a restaurant. If the move gets done today, Dave will be home with Neil, otherwise I will be staying home and she will come here. Either way will be fine but it is always nice to go out and I wouldn't mind a run into the city to pick up a few things that I couldn't get here. I am making the very traditional ham dinner and Neil asked for rice pudding for dessert, how easy is that!! I am not sure everyone will be thrilled with the choice but there will be chocolate Easter eggs here if they don't want rice pudding. It is cloud covered today and a bit breezy. A little rain would freshen things up a bit (as long as it doesn't turn into snow).
Sandy -- I think it was you who asked about Neil's toe, again I forgot to make notes and only a few posts show. It isn't gangrene although it is black because circulation was lost to the end of his toe following surgery. We are well aware that he is high risk for surgery but we were at a point where it needed to be done (pain and walking were problematic). This was the third surgery with this surgeon and fortunately this was the first complication other than cast blisters which were painful but healed nicely. I trust this surgeion enormously. He is without question the nicest Dr. I have ever encountered (being a nurse I have dealt with many). His first foot surgery was at Easter time a few years ago. The surgeon was off for the weekend but he came in to the hospital Easter Sunday with his 2 children and Easter gifts for Neil. We are very lucky to have him. Back to the black toe. At first they thought he would lose the top part of his toe, including the nail but it has healed better than expected and now the black area is drying up like a scab and falling away leaving a healthy pink toe underneath. We are not sure if he will have a nail on that toe or not but at least we wouldn't have to worry about ingrown nails!! That was def. the long answer!!
Marie-- I hope you have a wonderful dinner at Kathy's. Can't wait for pictures of the new house! I love hummus as well. It is actually very easy to make, love lots of garlic in it (keeps the vampires away).I will give Neil a hug, he still has the card with the whale on it so he will know who it comes from.
Elli-- Do you get to take a little break from construction over the Easter weekend? You work so hard.
Jeffrey-- Thanks for your words. I know how much you will miss your daughters over the weekend. I really don't like it when it is the inlaws turn to have them.
Beth-- I know it is your job, but I do admire you enormously. My son's friend has done several tours and I hate when he is over there. Stay safe.
Barbie-- How is Jake today? This is the time for flu apparently, the medi clinics are full of coughs, etc. I love lamb chops but my husband isn't crazy about them. You have made me want them and I will be looking for some when I get to the store.
Phoebe -- Thinking about you and hoping you get to enjoy an Easter dinner (darn it is still all about the food for me)!!
I have made a decision to return to the NoS Plan. It is a slow way to lose weight but I liked it and it felt normal. It fell apart as the stress level increased in this house!! My fault, not the fault of the stress. No more looking for excuses. I will let you know how it goes. If you aren't familiar with the plan just google NoS or I will give you the url if you like.
Neil just had a seizure so must be time to close. Take care. Gayla0 -
Ok Lafla, How do you make your hummus. I was just looking it up and have no ideal where to get some tahini. It is ground up sesame seeds. I think I told Sandy it was celery seeds but they call for sesame seeds. Sorry Sandy. The book did say homemade is much better than store bought. I guess I will get Jerry to take me to whole food store to see if I can find it. but first I think I will look it up on the web.
Those seizures most really be bad for Neil.. He got his share of troubles.
NO S diet work really well for you. At least you can live with it. If I had sweets on the s days I would wont them all the rest of the days.. If I remember correctly You had your family on it too. Is Mo still on it? I need to send her an e-mail to get her to drop in here.

Gosh Lafla, your life sure isn't easy is it? Poor Neal, he sounds like such a wonderful guy and too have so many health problems, must be hard on him and you. I don't think I have the right to complain about anything in my life. :frown: You will have a special place in heaven and I hope you will remember me so I can chat with you when we meet.
Marie, I will try hummus once, can't say if I will like it, I am a very fussy eater.
Barb, I too would like to know how Jake is today? Is he getting any better?
The little one wore me out today but I did survive.
The good thing about observing Good Friday is that you can only have three small meals today and nothing in between. Should be good for my weight loss right??
Talk to you tomorrow, watching a movie with my husband.0
