I am feeling really stuck in my weight loss. I was at a plateau for 5 weeks, then 2 weeks ago I lost 1 1/2 lbs which made me feel good thinking the plateau was over and this past friday and even now I don't see the scale moving at all. I am sure I am doing something wrong but for the life of I cannot figure out what it is. Can anyone help?

Have you read Banks thread on plateaus? Let me link you up - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/20343-how-i-have-avoided-plateauing-length-warning

Also, are you measuring yourself? You might be losing inches but not pounds.

I just came across this thread and would love to be a part of this group if I can!!

I restarted mfp on May 3rd at 261.5...my goal weight is 125 and I am 5'3". I am part of a couple groups but there are very few that have to lose as much weight as myself and so sometimes I feel that I would like to meet more people that understand the challenge of losing over half their weight.

Oh! I forgot my CW is 244

Well I started Tae-bo yesetrday...well when I say started I did the 'introduction to tae Bo' which they reccomend doing to learn how to do all the moves correctley before starting the actual aerobic courses to minimise risk of injury ect, well i tell ya what just this introduction killed me....I wont be progressing to the 'begginner' sessions until i can complete this 'introduction' session without near collapse haha....not a good sign of my fitness tho is it!! But I did use my HRM and 250 calories burned in the 40 mins so its all good.

I need to get fully back on track with my eating, upon reflection last night snacking has crept back on me without realising so I need to nip that back again! i think its as I relaxed a little on holidays a few weeks back and didnt kick myself into high gear enough after coming home. So thats what im doing today!
I will do a the intro course to tae-bo tonight again...lets see if its easier today! My podiatrist gave me some excercises for my sore feet so hoepfully the foot pain i experience in excercise will start to decrease too as that makes things difficult too! Another side effect of being very overweight compared to only a little is that my feet problems are very exageratted with the excess weight i carry now and I do suffer from ongoing pain...i look forward to the time when I get to like the 80kg mark when I know my foot pain decreased dramatically last time!! that will be a relief.

LeshawnTurner - in response to your question - I am a big God believer and prayed for a long time before meeting my wonderful DH at a Christian Union event at University...i think attending groups, hobbies ect is a good way to meet people, but not specifically singles events, as I know over here there is always heaps of women that attend those things and hardly ever any men...it doesnt seem to be much of a mans scene....

    xxPINK
  • Pink- I understand your foot problem because I have been having the same problem and yes it makes working out even more of a challenge. You will like Tae-Bo, I know I did. I will probably go back to it after I finish the 30 day Shred with Jillian Michaels. So far so good but I have to modify more than she does because of my foot pain and my knees. Also, I am a strong believer in God too. I know that He knows the desires of my heart and will give me what I ask for as long as I trust and believe in Him. I also know that I have to take the first step and He will take the next 2; I just need to take that first step and I'm having a hard time doing it. I have no idea where to go to find a quality man, not just any man. I'm not into the club scene and I don't do many parties; so I'm at a loss right now...

    I am so excited!!!
I am trying circuit training for the first time this evening with a friend of mine and am also going for my first run tomorrow. I always go biking down the pace way and see all these runners. Last summer I wanted to do it but didn't feel like I could do it at the weight I was at and ofcourse being so friggin' top heavy didn't help either. Now I am down 50 lbs and almost 2 cup sizes... still not sure I am ready for it but I love a challenge so I am gonna try anyways :)
For informational purposes the pace way is a long stretch of paved path in our area for runners, bicyclists and roller bladers to use that total in length is 12 1/2 km from the beggining to the end if you do the whole thing. A nice 25 km workout if you do beginning to end and back.

    Hey halfers!!!

I haven't posted in a few days because I had to go out of town for awhile. I'm back now and I am proud to say that I didn't gain any weight while I was traveling!!! :drinker: Woohooo!!! That is amazing since I ate like a pig, but I also did ALOT of walking around.

Great job to those who are doing (and want to do) the couch to 5k program. I hear people say great things about it. I'll admit I'm a bit scared myself to try it just yet. I think I'll start it in Jan no matter what weight I'm at...

Well the scale didn't really move this week. I was so tired this morning from my trip (and the Benedryl that I took last night) I over slept this morning  and didn't get my AM workout in.:grumble: :noway: But never fear, I am going bike riding this evening!! I usually ride about 1 hour or so (with a few stops in there to catch my breathe). I'm excited. I am hoping to loose at 5-7 lbs this month for our family vacation on the 4th of July. Plus if I loose 5-7lbs I will be well under 250!!! That's very exciting to think about.

Okay my next goal, (its non weight loss) is to meet a nice man...I'm very shy:embarassed: and I don't socialize very much with people, not to mention I don't allow people to fix me up with people (I just don't trust that the guy will be worth my time and stress). Plus, the last few guys that I have been interested in have been only interested in my skinny friend:cry: . I go to church but there are not many single guys there (at least they don't advertise that they are single) and I joined the singles group at church but its all women. So what do I do?? How do I go about meeting a nice guy?? :ohwell:

Honestly... I met my Prince Charming on Match.com. I was a single mom with no social life. My life revolved around my 5 year old son. I was unemployed (had just been laid off) and overweight. I've never been a real bar-goer, I'm not terribly outgoing until I get to know someone... in short... I was NOT going to "just meet someone"... My husband was the 4th guy I talked to and the 2nd guy I dated from Match.com. We talked for 2 weeks on the phone before meeting. By the end of our 2nd date I was pretty much planning the wedding in my head. We were married 2 years later.

We'd have never met in real life because he lived an hour away, was totally into his work and had no kids. He is everything that I never knew to look for in a man. He is so much more than I ever could have dreamed of. Best $30/month that I ever spent!!!

 Count me in...I've lost 45 lbs since November and am currently working on the next 45...I think what got me this far is realizing at the beginning that I was going to give myself a full year to work on making my life look completely different...so I haven't been as disappointed when I have setbacks. I'm excited to have a group of like minded losers to connect with! Dee

Hi Everyone and welcome to all the new people I have almost met my challenge of getting 400 minutes in for the week. I may need to change my goal to a few more minutes. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I am not seeing any changes on the scale so far this week. I do not understand it since I am exercising and staying within my calories. Maybe I need to get more strict with myself, I do not know. I am not going to be checking in for the next week. I will not be near a computer until June 22. I may check in tomorrow, and maybe Saturday. Just depends if I get all my work done. I will see you all very soon and I hope everyone has a happy weight loss.:flowerforyou:

Well I bought a new scale last night. There was nothing wrong with my old one...it has all the bells and whistles, worked great and was pretty accurate, too. I just felt like I wanted a brand new shiny one to keep me on track. The only thing is the new one weighed me 3lbs less than my old one. I was expecting it to weigh me a couple lbs. heavier so now I feel guilty to use the new weight.....my stupid neurosis, I know!!!

I decided to give my old one to my Mom. Her scale is a mess of an analog (talking dinosaur here). I weighed myself on it a couple weeks ago and it weighed me 10+ lbs lighter ( I wish), so she definitely needs a new one and I don't feel guilty for getting my new scale.

    Have a great day!

I weighed in today anyways but I am not officially counting it since it is the same weight and I just started atleast trying to eat my exercise calories so I got to give it a chance to work for me.
Although I ate alot more than I am used to yesterday @1635 calories, I was supposed to eat 2469.
I originally get 1200 calories then whatever I exercise which yesterday was a whole lot...lol
I know I ate low yesterday but I am just starting to work up to more food. I am sure I will get there soon :)

I'm on my second day of exercising at 5:30 am. I have to be at work at 7:30, so all I can manage right now is 30 min of exercise. Maybe, once I get used to that, I'll get up at 5 and walk for an hour. Not yet... Still too early!!!

I don't have a scale, I've found that I can get a little neurotic with weigh-ins, so I called my dr's office yesterday and they agreed to let me come in each Friday and weigh myself! How great is that?

Actually, it's a little scary :noway: because now I can't blame a reading I'm not happy with... on the "stupid scale." This "stupid scale" will be correct. That's good... it's giving me accountability.

I'm loving this program and I really rely on y'all's posts each day, to keep me going.

    Thanks so much!!!

    Always,
    E

Well Im just off to walk with hubby for an hour which will bring me 10 mins over my minutes goal for this week wooooo!!

No scale movement tho :( but I wont let that slo me down!!!

CHALLENGE number 4 comes care of Sanjovon hich is

Push Ups +5 = Any kind of push ups work . If you can do a full push up, good for you! If not - how about girl pushups or wall pushups? Today, do as many as you can. Tomorrow do that many plus 5. The next day 5 more. Each day - post how many you're doing!

So thanks Sonjavon for the idea, and lets all see who can do the most pushups by next friday!!!

    ITS friday yay
