my thoughts exactly!0 -
Wow. I feel like the only insecure weirdo!!! I don't have an issue with strip clubs from a moral stand point at all. It really is my issue of my husband checking out these chicks close up for an hour and then coming home and comparing me. I know he wouldn't compare me on purpose but how could he not? Fortunately, he hasn't asked! :ohwell:0

I would say yes it bothers me. Because I know how easily addicted people can get to strip clubs, porn, etc. And it can ruin people. I would rather be single for the rest of my life, then have my boyfriend/husband go to a strip club or watch porn. Those images that the men will get in thier head after going to the strip club, it is hard to get those images out of thier heads. Porn too. I was a prostitute at one time in my life, trying to pay the bills after my divorce. And alot of my clients were married men. Thier wives had no idea. The other thing is, do you think the strippers like what they are doing? No, but they do it for the money, the drugs, etc. They don't really know any better. I have some stripper friends, they are not strippers anymore thank God. But all of them were sexually abused as children, as teenagers got into drugs and then became strippers. Drugs are very easy to get when your a stripper. Do you really want your men spending thier hard earned money on these strippers? Dont forget thier are vip sections where they can get extra's. And some men once they have been drinking awhile. They will forget about thier wife, and they will think, hey a handjob or blow job isnt cheating, because we aren't having intercourse. Have any of you researched the sex trafficking industry? They make millions on stealing girls and women and pimping them out. Alot of these women don't want to be prostitutes but are forced into it. Keep letting your husbands induldge in strip clubs, etc. I won't be surprised when he ends up cheating on you, or giving you an std. Strip clubs are not harmless fun. They are disgusting. Open your eyes. I dare you women to go to the strip clubs by yourself. Talk to the strippers, hear thier stories, and see all the married men with rings on thier fingers, sitting thier acting like horny teenage boys. There is an epidemic, and more and more people are becoming sex addicts, because of the easy affordable sex there is out there. Porn, prostitutes, strippers, Adult personals. Yall might be normal people that don't know about this stuff. But I have lived it, and seen the devestation it causes.
This...^^^
I'm really surprised at the responses on this thread. It's a really horrible industry and I wouldn't - couldn't - demean myself with somebody who does this. I wonder how liberated some women really are... they seem very desperate to hold on to their men - at any cost. It makes me sad, but... each to their own.
Ha I am not holding on to my man at any cost. I went to strip clubs when I was single, and go to them now that im married.0 -

Her information isnt ignorant. Not all woman in that situation are there against their will or being abused or on drugs, but there are ALOT that are. You just never know which one is and isnt. How can you enjoy the "show" knowing that the sex indistry is made up of mostly women that are not there by choice. BUT I guess if you would be ok with your wife or daughter up there with men lusting over them (some innocent and some not so much) then enjoy. But its not a healthy lifestyle for anyone involved.

The part you said about the daughter...sigh. I pray to never find my daughter working as a stripper. I don't think I could take it. The sad part is all those strippers are someone's daughter.0 -
Yes I do mind. If he isn't happy at home then dont come back. I should be enough for him. Not to mention we are both Christians and he should not be lusting after other women. Those women dont respect themselves or anyone else. Marriage is supposed to be a sanctity. Our bodies are supposed to be temples of God's Spirit and there is no way I'd do anything like that so I expect my husband to honor me as I honor him.
Agree 100%!0 -
re "I love the idea that some of these women are against strip clubs because they want to "help" the strippers by also making them unemployed"; We could use the same reasoning to justify keeping pimps and prostitutes on the streets. They need to earn a living too. Sex trafficers need to earn a living... Just saying.
Slippery slope logical fallacy. Though I do feel prostitution should be legalized to get rid of the pimps and get the girls off the streets. This way there could be health regulations, inspections and taxation.
OR we could keep trying to eliminate "The World's Oldest Profession". Let me know when that works.
Actually I wasn't referring to any "slippery slop logical fallacy". I was referring to your justification of strip clubs by means of place of employment. As if these places of employment are something to be sought after. How many strippers do you think say to themselves, "Boy! I love this job! I never leaving this place!" Most women who end up in stripping or prostitution do so because it's their only option, not their best option.
And sure, we could legalize prostitution amd make it "safe". That's worked really well in Nevada, Germany, Australia and Netherlands. So much so that Germany and Australia are now thinking that maybe it shouldn't be legal. It hasn't made it safer at all. Rape and physical assaults are just as common. Prostitution, legal or not, still promotes sex trafficking. Prostitution is not labor; it is paid sexual exploitation. It lends itself nicely to paid rape. It is intrinsically harmful and traumatic. Period.0 -
Staunchly opposed, and I feel the same way about porn. It's the principle that matters to me--if he objectifies women in that way, how can I expect him to respect me? Or what if we had a daughter someday? Those women are someone's daughter/mother/sister/aunt. Somewhere someone loves them. I would be deeply saddened if it were my precious nieces on that stage, with people leering at them, seeing them as objects rather than the special creations they are.
Now, that being said, I certainly don't forbid him to go; we're both grownups and we make our own decisions. My boyfriend has been to strippers 3 times since we started dating 2 1/2 yrs ago: or 2 deer seasons and 1 bachelor party ago. I would HATE to be the kind of girlfriend who made him stay home when all his buddies were going. He knows I"m uncomfortable with it, so it's not something he does unless it would suck for him to skip it.0 -
I honestly expected a lot of you to say the opposite. I know as a man, if my women went to some sort of male strip club I would be upset. Knowing that your significant other, the person you want to spend the rest of your life with is getting lap dances from another male. I don't know maybe I'm a pansy.
No, you are not a pansy. I would be hurt that my husband had to go to a strip club to be turned on...and not because I am jealous, but because when he married me he vowed to love, respect, and cherish ME.0 -

Strip clubs are not made up by woman that have no choice the legal brothels are not made up by woman that have no choice. The sex slave industry is not something that can be lumped in with strip clubs and porn. strip clubs and porn are not going to make a man who wouldnt see a prostatute before suddenly go chasing them down. Sex slaves and prostitution have been around since man started walking up right. strip clubs do nothing to fuel this. If I man is going to be involved in the use of sex slaves he would do so weather or not porn and strip clubs existed. Ive known hundreds of strippers and porn stars very few of them were on drugs.
But I also know a few gas station employees that are hooked on drugs, does their job drive them to it?0 -
Um yea. I wouldn't ever date a guy who went. I just find that so tasteless. If he wants to see a strip show I'd put one on for him, no need for him to go somewhere else.
^^^^this. if im not enough for him then I'd rather not be in the relationship!0 -

We could put a lot of jobs into the category of "employment people don't want." Most people don't WANT to be janitors. Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the job or that it's not essential.
I think people should be free to choose any profession they want, including sex worker. I have no right to tell another woman what she is and is not allowed to do with her body.
You're right, a lot of women see it as their only option. So I fail to see where taking that option away helps them.
It's not your right to tell another woman what she can and can not do with her own body. "Exploitation" is a meaningless term. You can call any working person "exploited". You won't stop rape by outlawing prostitution. That's a fact. You can't even stop prostitution by outlawing prostitution. I'm a realist. That's all.0 -

Please don't tell me that you believe that strippers are 'essential'. LOL
I think that there should be many better options for any young girl who needs a job. It's not so much a matter of right as much as it is a matter of giving a woman a better opportunity.
And I don't see how making prostitution legal has helped any woman make a better life for herself (and her family).
Exploitation isn't a meaningless term. Not all workers are "exploited". But prostitutes and strippers certainly are.
And you won't stop rape by allowing prostitution either. Legalizing prostitution makes it no safer for anyone... the prostitute or the john.0 -

Strip clubs only contribute to the objectification of women. I am not a prude and have nothing against dancing on a pole for your man, or doing strip teases for him, but these type of settings just objectify women's bodies to the point where the man watching would never even consider what the strippers personality is like, what her interests are... I just can't support that. And luckily I'm with a guy who is logical enough to realize this as well (HE actually changed my mind about strip clubs..)
There are ways to fantasize or check girls out without actually going to a strip club..lots of beautiful girls in this world
The only reason I could think of to go to one would be if we went when we were both a lot older and maybe needed a lil boost in the bedroom haha0 -

Clearly there's a demand or there wouldn't be any strip clubs. While it may not be essential that doesn't mean it should be outlawed. The vast majority of people work jobs that are not essential for survival in the strictest sense.
I think there should be too. I'd always prefer to give a woman the chance to pursue any career she wanted. I don't see how limiting one possible option does anything to help that.
You don't see it because it's not something you would ever see. That doesn't mean it's not a reality. It means you have a limited world view. If a woman becomes a sex worker to help put food on the table and pay the bills she has helped herself and her family. And she did without caring about whatever judgement you wanted to put on her for it.0 -
Most guys usually only go with bachelor parties, or a guys night out that gets a little out of hand. Personally, I have no problems with them other than they are just too expensive and they make me feel dirty. But I don't want to be the guy that says, "No, I don't want to go see naked women."
But for the most part they are just awkward. It's tough making conversation with someone while they are rubbing their boobs in your face and at the same time totally disinterested because they are only doing it for your money. But most women aren't comfortable enough with their bodies to do this for their man, so their confidence does have a certain appeal.
So to all the ladies that have a problem with their man going to one, just realize that it's not about you. It's more of a male bonding thing and it probably wasn't their idea. We are men, we look at other females, no matter how much we love you we still appreciate another beautiful woman when we see them, we can't help it.0 -

This!
Though my fiance only goes for bachelor parties - even then, only sometimes, last month for a friends bachelor party he went to the golfing / bar part and came home when the boys went to the strip club... not his scene anymore, I think as he's gotten older and wants his own children, he has the same view point as I see it, these ladies are someones daughters / sisters / etc..0 -
I love the comments on this thread that try to compare seeing a hot guy/girl on the street to going to a strip club to see them. There is no camparison. You will always run into attractive people no matter where you go but when you go to a strip club you are going in search of looking at other women. There is also a big difference between watching porn and going to a strip club. Porn is on TV (no touchie), where as a strip club there is a chance for things to get out of hand. I am not saying I am against strip clubs but I think we also need to respect people with religious beliefs that are brave enough to speak their minds and stand up for what they believe in. I am a christian myself, don't mind going to the strip club with my honey everyonce in awhile. I would not like him to go by himself and I would be alittle concerned if he wanted to go all the time. I would think that he wasen't happy with me and looking to get his jollies elsewhere. We go about once a year if that. I do have a stripper pole at home because it is great exercise.0
-
Ive been to a few strip clubs in my life, and i know my wife doesnt care, hell shes gone with me before, but for me i dont really care for them anymore. Sure there fun, but really u spend a ton of cash, and cant really do anything but sit, what fun is that. I can just watch some porn at home for free. That being said, id still go for bachlor parties, and if my wife wanted to go again that would be fun, but really there kind of boring to me now. But if you enjoy them, more power to ya.0

I personally don't care if he goes to a strip club. I'd prefer it if he didn't spend money on that but that's really my only concern. I'm glad my guy is to in love with making music to waste time and money at a strip club.
As to all the comments about girls being strippers. It's easy cash, why wouldn't people do it. I haven't had a job in 4 months now (laid off) and I have been looking but with no luck. If i had the body and confidence I would be a stripper. I don't think it should be illegal, also I think prostitution should be legal. It's your body if you want to sell it then that's your choice. I think it should be illegal to be pimped out, no one should have the right to sell or use your body but you.0 -
As long as I go too... no actually not even that. It would be nice but he could just go with the guys. Doesn't matter0

I tried to get my ex to go to one with me on my 21st birthday but he didn't want to go. =[0

No, I don't.
We're currently LD anyways, but I don't mind. I'm pretty secure in my relationship and don't feel threatened by it.
They have great bodies, and some of them work hard for those bodies. Gives me more motivation0
