    Morning Ladies,

I can't really talk a lot right now. It sure surprises me as to how much I have to catch up on when I was only gone for 2 days. So this is just to say that I had a great weekend of sewing, and getting ready for Thanksgiving. We are now in the 20's, so have to haul out the winter coat.

Have to get going, so hopefully will be back to talk tomorrow for a longer timeframe.

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was nice but busy. Friday and Saturday were spent on errands—mostly getting ready for the upcoming holidays so I can start avoiding stores—and yesterday was spent on chores. DH and I had another go at leaves yesterday, so, in total, the number of bags that will be on the street for trash pickup this week is 28. My body was definitely feeling it Friday and Saturday. Today is better because I had DH’s help. But it looks like we are near the end. It is just unusual to have most of the leaves fall in a two week period here.

Anyhow, for workouts, on Friday I did S&S Total Body Giant Sets, and Perfect 30 Low Impact HiiT with the Bonus Pyramid HiiT segment. Saturday was a Jessica Smith power interval walk and yoga. Sunday was a 30 minute spin and Cathe Live Legs For Days. And today, at long last, was Gym Styles Chest and Triceps. I made it through all of the push-ups, and all on my toes! That makes me happy. I followed it with Cathe Live Step Sweat and Peloton Pilates.

Thelma, great workouts. The food you made this weekend sounds so good. No doubt your friend appreciates it, especially this time of year. Like you, we have turned cold. Today is our warmest day for the week as well with temps in the 50s, but I think we will be in the 40s for the rest of the week. I hope your chickens are able to stay warm.

Laurie, thanks for checking in. I am glad you enjoyed your long weekend. Hopefully things calm down at work soon. Those temps….yikes! We watched some of the Green Bay game yesterday, and it did look chilly.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were walking and S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #2 Triple Back.

It got cold here on Sunday night! We went down to 23 degrees! We did get some rain on Monday night, and it appears that Tuesday will be a rainy day.

Laurie, I'm glad you had a great long weekend. Sorry your work accumulated so much though. I hope you were able to catch up.
    Stay warm!!

Laurel, sounds like you had a busy weekend! Good job attacking those leaves again! I remember having to use those recyclable leaf bags too! It always amazed me too at how many bags I came up with every year.

Fantastic workouts! Congrats on those push-ups! Wow!

My friend appreciated and liked the food. I'm so glad I made that because the friend who was going to take food to them didn't do it. At least they'll have a couple of dinners out of the lasagna.

I think one of our chickens was warm but the other one is going through her yearly molting and is losing feathers like crazy. It's strange how chickens go through a heavy molting period once a year based on their age. It has nothing to do with the weather. She seems to have an impacted crop, which is very dangerous and is hardly eating. We may lose her just like we did our other chicken months ago. Chickens are delicate creatures. I've isolated her and will hope for the best.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

We have snow! :/ They are saying anywhere between 1-3 inches of the wet stuff. DH said that he has to get the snow blower started. I think that this year has gone way to fast. Yesterday DH closed on his mom's condo, a young couple purchased it. He was able to meet them, which I think he really appreciated. This is a large weight off his shoulders.

I have been keeping up with the CG workouts. Yesterday was Yoga Warrior 365 Versitile Warrior. This morning was Day 24 Full Body. I only have 6 workouts left of this series, and I have to say that I really enjoyed them. I may try another round before we get the new STS workouts.

Laurel, That is a large amount of leaves!!! Can't imagine how you where able to do all that and your awesome workouts too. Congrats on making it through all those push ups on your toes. Don't know if I will ever be accomplishing that feat. Must be that added yoga with the vinyasa flows. ;) I was surprised how cold it was on Sunday, it was mostly because of the wind.

Thelma, You are such a great neighbor with creating all those tasty meals for them. Great job with all your workouts! Sorry to hear about your chicken. One of my coworkers had that same thing happen to one of his chickens recently.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute spin, Gym Style Legs and Core Max 1. I finished it with a short yoga session as well which felt great.

Thelma, great workouts. I love those Ramped Up Upper Body premixes. So good. I am sorry to hear about your chicken. Molting this time of year probably makes her even more delicate than usual. Our weather is chilly and rainy today. It is hard to believe it was 84 degrees a week ago today. :o I am glad your friend enjoyed the food you brought for them.

Laurie, great job keeping up with the workouts. I keep trying to figure out what I want to do between now and the time we get STS 2.0, and I just can’t decide. So I am pressing on with split sets until I figure it out. I keep toying with doing a rotation of STS, but I haven’t been able to talk myself into it yet. I don’t know if I will either! :D Yay on the condo sale!! That must be such a huge relief. Stay safe and warm in the snow. I agree about the year flying by too quickly. I haven’t wrapped my mind around the fact next week is Thanksgiving. :o

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Tuesday were Gina B's 3000 steps and LITE Pyramid Pump - Pyramid Lower Body Only.

We had a very rainy day here. At least it was on the warm side. Our temps will be cold for a while now.

Laurie, I can't believe you have snow already! Now that I think about it, there was snow at the top of the mountains on Sunday. I agree with you about this year having gone way too fast.
I'm so glad you were able to sell your MIL's condo so quickly! I bet your DH really appreciated meeting the young buyers.

Good job with your CG workouts and for almost completing the series! I can't wait for the STS workouts to get to us!

I feel so bad for my poor chicken. I finally found a vet who is willing to see her, but not until late Thursday afternoon. It's so upsetting.

Laurel, great workouts! I have no desire to even consider doing another STS rotation! You're brave!

I love the Ramped Up Upper Body premixes too. Molting at this time of the year definitely makes chickens more delicate than usual.
I think we were in the high 40's on Tuesday, but it felt kind of warm to me.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was GHUTV Low Impact Burn 1. This is always a good workout to burn some calories, but no jumping around. ;)

Laurel, I love how you are embracing all the workouts in the series. That Core Max workout is one of my favorites, because it doesn't use any equipment. I'm sure that there is some burn out from your last session of STS. Doing the split sets is probably the best option, since it will hopefully flow right into the new series. I'm sure that doing some full body weeks is an option also.

Thelma, Great job with those workouts! This cold is going to be with us for a while, and we will probably have this snow on the ground for Thanksgiving. We got about 2 inches, so it looks pretty. DH said that Rocket was not wanting to go outside yesterday. Guess he wasn't to impressed with the snow. :D Hope all goes well for your chicken, and the vet is able to help.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Gym Style Back, Shoulders and Biceps, Cathe Live Boxing, HiiT Blasts and Core and 30 minutes of yoga. I really do love the Gym Style workouts but I am also glad they are done. :) I am still going to try to do Muscle Max on Friday which is so similar but also far more tolerable.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you have an appointment for your chicken. Hopefully the vet can help her. I was surprised that you said it felt warm there yesterday despite the rain. That was not the case here, especially in the afternoon when the wind kicked up. It was pretty chilly. Today is colder temperature wise, but the sun is out which makes it feel way better. Looks like we will have these colder temperatures until Monday. I didn’t realize our average temperatures this time of year are about 65! But it is hard to know that when you drop from 85 to 45 without ever passing through the middle. :D

Laurie, great workout, especially the no jumping around part. I really enjoyed that Core Max workout yesterday and certainly felt it in my core with the work from this morning’s workout. Good stuff. I am thinking about trying to do one week of each STS Mesocycle as part of my current split set routine and see how that goes. There is a part of me that wants one more shot at STS before STS 2.0 comes out because I have my doubts that I will ever return to STS with a newer, shorter and updated series around. But the idea of a full on traditional rotation is not working for me. So I think after Thanksgiving week I may either try STS (one week from each Mesocycle) or move on to something completely different incorporating more varieties of lifting like we have done with the rotations this year. I’ll be very curious to see what goes into my DVD player a week from Monday. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Gina B Hiit Walk, Gentle Flow Yoga, Walking and LITE Pyramid Pump - Pyramid Lower Body Only. I am loving this week so much that I'm thinking about repeating it next week.

It was cold here today and will continue for at least the next five days.

Laurie, great workout without jumping! Yaay!

Sounds like that snow is going to stick around for a while with those cold temps! I don't blame Rocket for not wanting to go out.
I'm afraid we might have to say goodbye to our chicken. She isn't getting better and the vet who is willing to see her doesn't know much about chickens. I think she needs surgery. I've am so upset about this.

Laurel, fantastic workouts! Good job doing those Gym Style workouts!

As I was telling Laurie, I don't think the vet can help our chicken. At least we can have her euthanized her in a humane way. It's terribly sad. Now our only chicken is going to be lonely because we may not be able to get her a companion or two until next spring.

I bought a sherpa lined hoodie that is really warm, and it's been amazing in windy conditions. I think that is why I thought it was a little warm here! The sun makes a huge difference in this cold temps.
I think it's also unseasonably cold here for this time of the year. You definitely went from really warm temps to cold ones! It wasn't that drastic for us.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was Day 25 Shoulders. Another good workout.

Laurel, Awesome job with those workouts, and glad to hear that you enjoyed the GS workouts. I hope that you are able to get the MM workout in, it was always a favorite of mine. Do you use tubing in those workouts or the bands. I know that my bands are broken, so I have been using the tubing. Doing the meso cycles for a week sounds like a solid plan. Which weeks would you do, or would you try out your favorites? ;) Have fun choosing what you will try on Monday. :D

Thelma, So sorry to hear that there isn't much that can be done for your chicken. I know that it can be hard to deal with. Great job on your workouts. Glad that you are enjoying your rotation. At some point I have to dig out my winter boots, but so far the snow is melting on the pavement. Just not ready for the cold though.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and 45 minutes of Pilates. Good stuff.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you have been enjoying your workouts this week. I hope this means your back is feeling better. I am so sorry to hear about your little chicken. I will still hope something can be done to help her. No doubt you are heartbroken. You take such good care of your animals.

Laurie, great workout. I used the band for these workouts but, honestly, I much prefer using tubing these days. While it isn’t as easy to adjust the tension on tubing if using the handles, I just find having the handles helps me keep my hands in a position that is much better for my shoulders. If I do that STS plan, I will probably start with week one. For me, those are the toughest weeks. And I am kind of thinking if I can make it through those three weeks, maybe I will want to carry on. And if I don’t? Well, at least I tried. :) If I do decide to do STS, though, I already know I will be doing a ton of modifying. I know I won’t do all of the push-ups on my toes or, in the case of the Elmo push-ups, not at all. I may alternate pull-ups on my Fit Tower with door band pulls. And so on and so on and so on. :D Or I might ditch the idea and do some fun workouts. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Slow Flow Yoga, walking and S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #10 Triple Biceps.

Red our chicken is thankfully still with us. The vet knew more about chickens than I was led to believe which was great. She took an x-ray per our request just to see if there was a blockage at the lower end of her intestinal tract and there wasn't. Red provided a stool sample while she walked around the examining room. A stool test was done to see if she had parasites. The test was negative. Red was given a B12 injection, and we will add psyllium to her diet to see if it helps move things along.

The vet had her two Newfoundland dogs at the clinic. I think she takes them in every day. What beautiful, gentle giants!

It's been a very emotional week with Red and I also found out I have calcified uterine fibroids. This was found in a CT scan taken in March, but I didn't find out about it till Monday! Apparently, my nurse practitioner's nurse forgot to tell me about it, and I didn't follow up for some reason. It doesn't sound like there's danger of cancer from what I've read, but I am scared because I feel pressure on left lower ab area. I was able to get an appointment with my friend's Ob/Gyn who discovered her cancer. She actually specializes in uterine fibroids and is a robotics surgeon. I'm going to see her on 12/12 right here in BR. This doctor also works at the hospital my rheumatologist does. It's a great hospital.

DH's wonderful boss got a new job and we've been in limbo about who DH would report to. He finally found out who his new boss will be, and we are very happy with his new boss. It might be temporary, but at least it's good news for now.

My friend finds out on Friday morning if she is cancer free. I hope she is. We also have a special Surrender with Gratitude yoga class for her on Friday night. It's a two-hour Yin/Healing class. There will be hands on Reiki healing and essential oils will be used as well.

    Laurie, great workout!
I hear you on not being ready for the cold and snowy weather. We hope our chicken will be able to pull through the impacted crop issue. She is such a good girl.

    Laurel, great workouts!
My back is feeling better, but the sciatica is the biggest problem now. I graduate from physical therapy next week and I will keep doing the exercises prescribed. I thought my problem was the piriformis syndrome but now I am convinced it has more to do with the vertebrae out of alignment condition I have. It is possible I was born that way. The symptoms I have are part of this thing called Spondylolisthesis (try saying that fast!). My chiropractor discovered it earlier this year. She told me on Tuesday that she thinks this is the problem I have on my buttocks/hips. I went back to read the symptoms and she is spot on. At least the PT exercises are helping. It's a good thing I take care of this body I was given!

We hope our chicken Red will be OK.

Sorry for the long story ladies! I hope you both have a wonderful weekend.

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was Day 26 Legs. Another good one.

Last night was a nightmare going home. The roads in our area where like an ice rink. Our oldest dd was coming to our house, and she was redirected and had to go through back roads. Of course I couldn't relax until she got to our house, she is really getting big. :) This morning we where getting more snow.

Laurel, Great job with those workouts. I like that you are changing up the STS workouts to suit you, that would probably make them a lot better to do. I love that you nix those elmo push ups right from the start. Cathe makes them look so easy, but I have never been able to master them and usually give up after doing one. :D I'm like you with the tubing, it really is easier to deal with.

Thelma, Love the workouts! Great news on Red, hopefully everything will go well with the new meds. Those dogs are very large gentle giants, we have a friend that has one. Dang on the fibroids, I'm wishing you the best. Glad that you have found such a excellent doctor. Also giving good vibs for your friend that her results are cancer free. Nice that your DH's new boss is one that he is happy with. I think that I'm waiting on my 15th boss, but it could be a higher number. I have lost count. :D The last one that I had was for only 4 month's, and he got another job.

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Muscle Max followed by Cathe’s live class from last week which was Cardio Kick and Punch. Both workouts felt great. I always love a new kickboxing class too! :)

Thelma, great workouts. I am so glad to hear Red is still with you. Sounds like your vet is amazing. I am also so happy to hear your friend is cancer free. I love that you will celebrating with her with a healing yoga class. But that’s not good news on the fibroids. I am glad you got an appointment scheduled and, hopefully, you will find there is no issue. I looked up the long word that may be your back issue :D because I have never heard that one before. It is very possible you were born this way, and aging probably doesn’t help. You are so right that it is a good thing you take care of you. Good news about your DHs new boss.

Laurie, great workout. Another Green Bay game last night showing the cold and snow up there. Your drive home sounds horrible. I am glad your DD got there safely. She is probably just a few weeks out from being due now, isn’t she? :o Yes, the only way I will make it through another attempt at STS is if I modify it to make it easier on my body. But I remember the first time I did it (almost 14 years ago! :o ), I had to modify it like crazy because I couldn’t do even one push-up back then due to my shoulder injury. And it still worked great, so I have no qualms about modifying it now. If I choose to do it, of course. I still have a week to decide. Or two. :D

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a great weekend. We had good weekend. It was busy as usual. The weather was cold and windy. We were 20 degrees one night!

Red is pretty much the same. I just don't know how else to help her. We've been letting her spend about 1/2 day in the coop with her sister. You should've seen how happy she was when we took her outside and put her down on the ground. She ran to the coop to see her sister!

My workouts on Friday were Gentle Yoga, walking, S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #8 Triple Shoulders.
    Saturday walking.
Sunday walking and S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #4 Triple Chest.

My friend found out she is cancer free! Yaaay! She has to take oral chemo twice a day for the next two years to make sure the cancer doesn't come back.
We did the Surrender with Gratitude Yin class on Friday night, and it was great. It was different than anything we'd ever done. The studio was lit with lots of real and battery-operated candles and our mats were placed in a circle. The instructor had a selection of essential oils for the class. She told us about each oil and its usage, then went around the circle putting a couple of drops of oil in our hands, we then rubbed it between our hands, smelled it and rubbed it on our neck, chest, feet, face. She went around and massaged our feet, legs and did some Reiki healing. The foot massage was AMAZING! I had no idea my feet needed a massage!
My nose got all congested from the oils. I clearly was allergic to some of the oils. It was very relaxing though. I should've just gone there in my PJ's! LOL

    Laurie, great leg workout!

Icy roads are so scary! I can just imagine how stressful driving home was and on top of that waiting for your DD to get to your house. You are really going to have a white Thanksgiving! When is your dd due?

Thanks so much for the good wishes for my health. I read that calcified fibroids are usually harmless. I hope mine are too.
You've had a lot of bosses! LOL

Laurel, great workouts! The kickboxing class sounds great! Those are always such good classes! Does Cathe do a lot of jumping in those live classes?

We are happy to still have Red with us, but she's not getting better. She seems OK though and is really happy to be out in the coop with her sister.

I am really worried about the fibroids. I am so scared about having cancer. From what I've read they're usually harmless. Hopefully mine are harmless too. I can never remember the long name for my spine condition. I just say vertebrae out of alignment in the lower back.

    Have a wonderful week!

    Morning Ladies,

What a weekend! DH and I went to Chicago for a car show. We got to our hotel, and decided that we would eat at the hotel. I had ordered the grilled white finned tuna. Well, I took my first bite, and it was cold. I understand rare tuna, but this was cold to the touch. I didn't order sushi. DH's meal was cold on the bottom of the dish, so both meals went back. They came back, and as I was eating the salad, that was included on the plate, there was a piece of plastic in it. :p That is the worst meal that I have ever had, so disappointing. On Saturday we got up bright and early to judge 4 cars. That took us almost all day, and we where really tired by the time we got back home. We did stop at an Irish pub on the way home, so that we had a really good meal to talk about. :D

I didn't workout on Saturday, and Sunday was CG's Iron Day 27 Upper Body. Feeling that one today. This morning was Day 28 Glutes.

Laurel, Love those workouts! That really sounds like a great combo. I can't remember how many weeks that the dd is at, but I know that she is due on the 27th of December. She does have an appointment for the 22nd for a c-section. She is such a tiny girl, that her doctor is actually more comfortable with the c-section than natural birth. I had to lol when you stated that week or two for the STS. I'm sure that you will find something that will inspire you.

Thelma, Awesome workouts, and the class sounds wonderful. So glad to hear that your friend is cancer free!! What a great way to celebrate the news. Very cute about Red and her sister, they really do have some personalities. Our temps went down to the single digits. Not fun to wake up on Sunday morning to see that. We are warming up, so we will see how long the snow lasts. Like I told Laurel, we will probably be grandparents on the 22nd. She wants to have the baby before Christmas.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was busy. We spent Saturday doing Christmas shopping :o for some families we sponsor for the holidays. And yesterday was spent getting ready to decorate the house for Christmas which I will be starting when I finish writing this. We are doing everything early this year because DH, unfortunately, will be gone for a few weeks starting next week. So it happens now or not at all. I gave him the option of not at all, but he really enjoys the Christmas decorations, so up they go. I am happy he made that decision. :)

For workouts, on Saturday I did a Jessica Smith walk followed by 45 minutes of power yoga. Yesterday was a 30 minute spin and Cathe’s Lower Body Blast workout with the leg conditioning drills. Today started with Cathe Live Lift It, Split It Back and Biceps. This was a series she started filming back when she was still filming without a class. She got this workout done right before she had that eye emergency. Well, she didn’t finish the series until last week. :) So, finally, I get to enjoy a new Live split series. Today’s workout was really good. Just straight lifting with heavy weights and a controlled pace. I really hope this is what STS 2.0 is like. Anyhow, I followed it with Cathe Live Cardio Core Bootcamp and hip focused yoga.

Thelma, great workouts. I am happy that Red is still with you. I am sorry she is not improving. I love your description of how excited she was to see her sister. I am so happy for your friend. The yoga class sounds amazing and relaxing.

Laurie, great workouts. But yikes on the restaurant in Chicago. :o I hope they compensated you somehow for it. I am glad you were able to enjoy a better meal on your way home. Wow, you’ll be a grandma in a month! How exciting. I don’t blame your DD at all for wanting the baby before Christmas.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were Yinyasa Yoga, Walking and S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #2 Triple Back.

It finally warmed up here on Monday afternoon. We were in the mid 50's and it was sunny.

My Red is still the same, but I think I figured out what is wrong with her. I did more online research and found what I think is her problem. It's an infection that happens when a chicken has an impacted crop, that prevents them from digesting their food. She needs antibiotics, probiotics and vitamins. I will start her on probiotics and vitamins in the morning. I sent an email to the vet with my findings, and we hope she'll prescribe antibiotics and hopefully the injected form!

Laurie, sounds like a fun weekend minus the bad hotel food! Great workouts!

What a great idea to have the baby before Christmas! My cousin was born exactly on Christmas day, which kind of takes away from his big day. How exciting that you're going to be holding your grandbaby soon. Thank goodness your DD's doctor wants her to have a c-section due to her size. No need to make her suffer! I'm glad your temps are warming up too!

I am really happy for my friend. Now she needs to gain her strength back so she can start exercising again.

Laurel, some people around here have had their Christmas decorations up for a couple of weeks! I'm glad your DH decided he wanted to get the decorations up early. It doesn't feel Christmassy to me at all. DH usually does our 10-minute decoration process on Thanksgiving, but it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving either! We've been very busy with our zoo and things around the house that we haven't even thought about our decorations. I've been so worried about Red that I can't even begin to think about the holidays. Our friends invited us to their big Thanksgiving celebration, so we'll be going there. No cooking for me! Yaay!

DH got to see Red happily run to the coop to see Oreo when he let her out in the morning. It's the sweetest thing. I actually think Oreo cries when we take Red away at the end of the day. She starts making a funny sound that I'm taking as a cry.

I can't wait for Cathe to ship the STS DVDs out! The entire program looks so good!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Today is a half day for me, and then I will be off for the rest of the week. My workout this moring was Yoga Warrior 365 Responsible Warrior. :)

Laurel, Very nice workouts, and how great that you have a new series to try out. I love that you have your decorations up. Since we are warming up today, DH is going to be putting the lights on some trees. Of course he will not be doing anything that requires a ladder. ;) Oh the only thing they did for us on the meal was comp the dessert. Now the flourless chocolate cake (that DH an I shared) was the best part of the meal. :D So they got off cheap. It will be awesome to have a baby for Christmas, but we still have to wait to get the baby an ornament. Have to make sure that it is a boy. ;)

Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Nice job on the triple back. I hope that your internet search will help Red heal, and she can get back to her sister. Having a baby on Christmas day was one of the things that dd was not happy about. She is thinking of celebrating the baby's birthday in July, so that he doesn't have the problem with designating the birthday and Christmas presents. July is a nice time for a party anyway. :D

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute HiiT and Hills spin followed by Cathe Live Lift It, Split It Legs and Shoulders. Again, this was a great no-nonsense strength workout that I still hope is like STS 2.0. She lifts heavy (heavier than I did with legs), but the rep speed is slow and there is recovery time. So good.

Thelma, great workouts. I hope you have found the solution for your little Red. Fingers crossed she and Oreo are reunited soon because it sounds like they really want to be with each other. Even with the cold weather it doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving at all! But it is early this year. I don’t mind having the Christmas decorations up early because it does bring light into the house. We will wait to decorate outside until the weekend, though. But there are plenty of houses here that are fully decorated already as well.

Laurie, great workout. Love to see you doing those Yoga Warrior 365 yoga workouts again. I know you really enjoyed them when your knee was giving you big problems. I am glad the flourless chocolate cake was good and they at least attempted a bit of compensation with it. I find how restaurants (or any business) responds to things like that very telling. So at least they tried something and didn’t just shrug their shoulders. (And we have had that with a restaurant before). I am glad I am not the only one who doesn’t like my DH on a ladder when he is alone.

DH is off for the weekend tomorrow, so I probably won’t be back until Monday. Wishing you both a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Tuesday were a lot of walking and LITE Pyramid Pump - Pyramid Lower Body Only. I got the yoga studio schedule for the month of December and the Yin class has a new instructor. I love Yin classes and I hope the instructor is good, so I'll be giving it a try.

We had another warm day once it warmed up.

The vet agreed to prescribe injectable antibiotics for Red for me to inject her at home with. Unfortunately the prescription was never filled because the vet was really busy and had to make a farm call. We'll see if we have better luck on Wednesday. In the meantime I am giving her supportive care of probiotics to restore healthy bacteria in her gut, vitamins and digestive enzymes. Tonight when we brought her back to the cage she passed the most normal looking poops we've seen in 1.5 weeks! We are feeling hopeful. One of the things I read about the infection is that they pass undigested food, so that's why I added digestive enzymes.

Laurie, great yoga workout! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

I LOVE your daughter's idea of celebrating the baby's birthday in July! Christmas kids do get screwed with their birthday gifts because people combine birthday/christmas gifts! Not fair!

    Laurel, great workout combo!

So far my supportive care seems to be working for Red. We are letting them spend as much time as possible during the day and they are really happy together. I'm the pet nurse around here. On Sunday I tested my cat's glucose, on Monday I injected my other cat with vitamin B12 and both DH and I have been nursing Red. Thankfully my cat is not diabetic and we hope the B12 will help my other cat. I am nervous about injecting Red though. I've never injected a chicken before, so I'll be watching some YT videos.

I hope you and your DH have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and a great long weekend. We had a great Thanksgiving at our friends' house. The bad thing about going to a friend's house is not having leftovers.

Red is still here and is doing OK. We finally got the antibiotics on Wednesday afternoon, but they haven't helped at all. The kind we got is the wrong kind. I read that probiotics can help, so I'm getting her some.

My workouts were walking, yoga, S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #10 Triple Biceps, S&S Ramped Up Upper Body #8 Triple Shoulders, 4DS Boot Camp Lower Body Circuit premix.

    Have a great week!

    Morning Ladies,

Hope you both had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful, and of course very busy. We where able to see both sides of the family, so that was good. I was very tired this morning, so next year I'm planning on taking off the Monday afterward just to rest. :D My oldest niece informed us that she was pregnant, so there will be two little ones for our next years Thanksgiving. So that means that I have another baby quilt to make. :D She is due in June.

I'm finished with the Iron workouts, so this week I'm going to do a GHUTV calendar called Total Body Express. The workouts are all a little over 20 min., and I will probably be adding on something when I can. I have about 9 days of vacation to use up this month, and most of them will be around Christmas. I am taking off every Friday up until then also. No workout yesterday, but this morning was GHUTV Circuits in 6. For a short workout it really got the hr up.

Laurel, Sounds like a great workout, and I to hope that it is similar to what she is putting out with the new series. They really do sound good. That is one thing that I have enjoyed with CG's workouts. She goes heavy, and slow. It has been really nice to revisit the Yoga Warrior workouts, and I'm planning on putting these into the GHUTV calendar. The rotation has a GHUTV workout, and then an Active Rest Day. So that gives me the opportunity to do something that I want to do, but still has some structure.

Thelma, Awesome job with your workouts! Hope your Yin instructor is a good one too. Hopefully what you are doing for Red will help her. You have been very patient with everything, so it would be a great relief for her to recover. Sounds like you have your own vet hospital going. I have a lot of leftover's, to bad you are not closer to us. :D This morning when I was leaving, DH said "I'm guessing it's leftovers for dinner". :D

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the holiday. Our Thanksgiving was very nice. We made a more traditional meal than we have for a couple of years, but kept it down to just a few key dishes. The result was delicious with just enough leftovers and not completely exhausting. We had a pretty decent weekend weather-wise so we were able to fit in a round of golf on Saturday. After all of the Christmas decorating and cooking for Thanksgiving, I was ready for a few hours of non-holiday activity. And it was perfect. Of course yesterday I spent baking so my DH will be able to take some Christmas cookies with him on his trip next week. :)

I don’t remember all of the workouts I did. I know I finished the Cathe Live Lift It, Split It series on Wednesday with Back and Bicep. This was the best Live set of workouts hands down. Really great stuff. I also did some cardio. Thursday was a 60 minute spin and yoga. Friday was Cathe Live Arms, Legs, Core and More followed by some cardio. Saturday was a Jessica Smith Walk and Power Yoga. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin and LITE Stacked Sets Lower Body. And today was STS Meso 1, Disc 1. :) Yep, I managed to push play on it after all. We’ll see how this goes, but at least I am trying to give it another (last?) shot. And I did pretty good with it too! I followed it with Fit/Split Boxing Bootcamp and Core.

Thelma, I am glad you enjoyed a nice weekend, though no leftovers isn’t always great. I am so glad Red is still with you. Hopefully you can get the right medication for her. I don’t blame you for not wanting to inject a chicken. :o Great workouts. I hope the yin yoga instructor is one you like.

Laurie, so glad to hear you enjoyed the holiday. I think taking the Monday off after Thanksgiving would be great. Congratulations to your niece in her pregnancy! How fun to have two little babies coming into the family this year. Great workouts. Your plan going forward sounds like a good one.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were Walking Outdoors, YinYasa Yoga, Gina B. Low Impact Cardio and Tracy Steen Upper Body Work It Circuit.

I discovered instructor Tracy Steen a few days ago and I decided to give her workouts a try. The circuit workout was 45 minutes long and it had 2 sets of six exercises done 3 rounds each. She did 2 strength exercises followed by cardio. I liked that it wasn't a fast-moving workout like Cathe's. I was actually able to lift higher weights than I would with Cathe, and I think it's because it wasn't a fast moving workout.

I tried to buy some of Cathe's workout accessories and couldn't because she doesn't offer free shipping on those items. I wasn't going to pay $18 in shipping charges. Oh well!

Laurie, I'm glad you had a great holiday weekend with your family. Congrats on your niece's pregnancy and for finishing the Iron workouts! Good job with the GHUTV workout!

How nice that you'll be taking Fridays off in December. I lived for those 4-day weeks at work!

The new Yin instructor will be taking over the class from the instructor I don't like. I hope this lady is better. I will at least try her class once.

We started Red on the new probiotics. If her gut good bacteria gets restored by the probiotics, it will take a few days. I do have a vet hospital going at home, but it's more of a chicken hospital!

Too funny about your DH saying, "I'm guessing it's leftover for dinner". I suppose having too many leftovers is not a good thing either. LOL

Laurel, I'm glad you had a great holiday weekend and kept your meal traditional and easier than usual. Our meal is very simple and since it's just the two of us, we buy a small turkey breast. We still don't have any of our Christmas decorations up yet. DH usually can't wait to get the decorations up, but not this year. He isn't driving me crazy playing Christmas music all day long either. He hasn't played Christmas music at all. It really doesn't feel like Christmas. I'm going to have a talk with DH about the decorations! LOL

Great workouts and good for you for doing the STS workout. I know you'll keep going with those workouts! I wish they weren't so long!

Red is hanging in there. Our next step will be to take her back to the vet for another B12 shot and ask/beg her to give us a different antibiotic. I forgot to tell you that the antibiotic we got wasn't the injectable kind. It was dispensed in syringes, but it was diluted in water. Cats and dogs are injected under the skin, so I just lift their skin and stick the needle in the little skin tent. Chickens get intramuscular injections. I don't think I could do that.

I have high hopes for the new Yin instructor. She starts on 12/6. I miss having a dedicated Yin class.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was GHUTV Power Walking 3. This morning I woke up with pain in my shoulder. I think that I was sleeping on it wrong. It feels better now, but I think it was a good option to do the walking workout.

Laurel, Sounds like you had a great weekend! Great job with all your workouts, and getting to experience the split live workouts. Congrats on starting the STS workouts. I hope that they are perfect for you at this time. Tonight I'm making enchiladas with the turkey, and then we will be freezing the rest. Everything else we had went home with the girls.

Thelma, Love the workouts! I will have to look up Tracy to see what the workouts are like. I'm always looking for good workouts. I don't know why, but I need the variety. LOL about the chicken hospital. You may soon become the chicken expert. ;) I have been listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving even started. I was of course watching the movies too. Must be because I'm going to be a grandma or something. :D

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute spin, STS Disc 3/Legs, 20 minutes of Pilates and 15 minutes of yoga. Honestly, these STS workouts are going way better than I thought they would, which makes me happy. I don’t think I would be feeling the same way if I were staring at 4 straight weeks of Meso 1, but at the moment, one week of each Mesocycles feels completely tolerable. But ask me in a week. I might have some different thoughts, :D

Thelma, great workouts. I like the sound of Tracy’s workouts. I think one of the reasons I keep gravitating to Cathe’s most recent live workouts is that she really has slowed down, and I am great with that. It is always a shock when I do an older workout of hers. That’s funny about the Christmas decorations and music. I can take Christmas music only in small doses and it has to be classic (like Frank Sinatra or Bing Crosby), instrumental or acoustic. I just can’t do the songs where people are trying to sing them as loudly as possible. Drives me crazy. :# Boy do I sound old!! :D:p I hope you see some improvements in Red with the new probiotic.

Laurie, sounds like a good workout on a bad shoulder day. Thankfully that was just temporary. I have no doubt you are in the Christmas spirit this season! Just think of how much spoiling of your grand baby you will get to be doing soon. You can buy all kinds of noisy toys and then go home. :D;) Turkey enchiladas sound good. I have never tried that with turkey.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Tracy Steen No Jumping, All Standing Cardio HIIT, Walking Outdoors X2 and Tracy Steen No Repeat Legs and Abs.

The standing cardio HIIT workout was more like a lower body workout. She used 2 lb weights for the upper body. The workout was full of squats and lunges. It was my first workout of the day, and it was leg day! For the real leg workout, I chose the No Repeat Legs/Abs workout. It was very good, but the ab part was too advanced for my back, so I had to modify. She followed each leg workout with an ab move. There were a lot of different planks.

It's been raining heavily here since 6:30 PM on Tuesday. It will be raining till about 8-9 AM Wednesday, then more rain over the weekend. Temps are going to drop into the high 20's on Wednesday night.

Laurie, great workout and definitely a good choice if your shoulder was hurting! I'm glad it feels better now.

Definitely look Tracy up. I like that her workouts burn a lot of calories! Variety is good! I definitely needed a break from Cathe.
I've learned a lot about chickens during the last year.

I'm sure you're in the Christmas spirit because you're about to become a grandmother!

Laurel, great workout combo! I knew you would love doing some STS workouts! I wish Cathe hadn't called her new workout program STS. It's going to get confusing. I think we need to call them STS I and STS II.

You should definitely checkout Tracy's workouts. I'm glad to hear Cathe has slowed down in her live workouts. Hopefully the new series will have less intense cardio too.

I'm the opposite when it comes to Christmas music. I like the upbeat kind.

We may be seeing a little improvement with Red. It's hard to tell so far because the improvement seems to happen at night while she sleeps. Chickens continue to poop while they sleep, and those poops are pretty firm. I wish it was like that while she's awake though.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was GHUTV Cardio Kickbox. I have done this one before, and it is always a good one. My shoulder appears to be better, so I'm thinking that it was just me sleeping on it wrong. We where staying in a cabin for our yearly Thanksgiving with my family. The beds where not all that comfortable, so that my be why I had a sore shoulder.

Laurel, I love how you are leaving your options open to change with the STS workouts. :D Great job! The only Christmas songs that I don't enjoy are Santa Baby, and the one with that the little boy is buying his dying mother red shoes. Whoever dubbed that last one as a Christmas song is crazy. Otherwise I'm into every kind, well there might be a few more that I avoid. :D I'm going to really enjoy spoiling the grand baby, and then sending him home. :D Enchiladas are one thing that my DH really loves, and they are super simple.

Thelma, Awesome job with all those workouts! Nice that you have found another instructor, and her workouts sound really good. Got to love a HiiT workout that is no jumping. We have those temps right now. It was quite the change from the 30's from yesterday.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 2/Back and Triceps, the STS Extended Stretch and Cathe Live Low Impact Cardio Sweat and Core. I felt pretty tired when I got up this morning because we had wicked storms starting yesterday afternoon and all through the night. I tried to sleep through it but to no avail. I finally gave up when the wind woke me up (again) shortly before 6am. But we had no damage. I kept thinking about our Christmas decorations flying off, so that was a relief. :) But given the lack of sleep, the workout today felt great. This is not at all what I expected to be saying after my third consecutive STS workout. Shows how the mind and the body aren’t always connected.

Thelma, great workouts. I will definitely look up Tracy. I love no impact options for workouts these days. I am currently toying with buying Jessica’s All Access Pass since she has it on sale. I want to take a new approach to cardio into the new year and focus less on intensity (especially off the spin cycle) and more on enjoyment. And I have grown to love some of Jessica’s walks. I just don’t know if I would use her workouts enough though. So many workouts…..so little time. :) I hope the storm didn’t hit you too hard last night/this morning. It was wonderful to have rain for hours straight but the lightening was something else. Hope Red continues to show signs of improvement. Oh, and I am good with upbeat Christmas songs….just not loud ones. :)

Laurie, great workout. I am glad to hear your shoulder is continuing to feel okay. No doubt an uncomfortable bed could do that. I am not sure I have heard that song about the boy giving his mother shoes. But there is a movie from about 20 years ago (with Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams) that sounds like it. I think it is called ‘The Christmas Shoes’. What a sad movie that was. I only watched it the once, but I have seen it pop up on Hallmark every now and again in recent years. I avoid it. I prefer happy this time of year. :D

    See you tomorrow.
