Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 2/Back and Triceps, Cathe Live Cardio Metabolic Sweat and 20 minutes of Peloton Pilates. We woke up to heavy rain this morning which was a bit of a surprise. But I am happy to see it because I know it will help things grow. B)

Thelma, great workouts. Thanks for posting those workouts. I am always a bit surprised (aka annoyed :# ) when workout times don’t include a warm up or cool down. And a surprising number of them don’t. Even the Peloton spins with this one minute ‘cool down’ are misleading. There is no way to go from 100 to zero in a minute…..at least I can’t. It is just a weird trend. We only put a little liquid in our hummingbird feeders because, like you, we were wasting a lot. But even with just a little they have never gone dry before.

Laurie, great workout. I am sorry about the frost, though. I know I am ready for warmer temperatures…..and we have at least had warmer temperatures! I imagine you have had enough of heavy coats for sure. Hopefully in a couple of weeks things will start feeling more like spring up there. Since I have taken in my MILs dining table, my DH knows the next table is mine to choose. :D I am just so thankful he isn’t attached to this table for sure. But since it is something she had made after DH and I were married and living in Europe, there is no sentimental attachment for him. But, for now, our having it is good for my MIL, so we will keep it. And it is a great table for puzzles. :) I am thinking we’ll get STS 2.0 in about three weeks. I was telling Thelma last week that I have a trip booked to see my sisters mid-June, so I am going to preview the new workouts to make sure I know what weights I need but not start up a rotation until I get back home. I am really looking forward to it because I think it will be vastly different from STS.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Walking, Yin Yoga, Jessica Smith Power Walking and Tracy Steen Descending Lower Body Ladder.

We got 3/4" of rain on Tuesday night into Wed morning and more rain Thursday night through Friday.

Laurie, sorry about the frost! Great workout! I hope you were able to find a paint color for your kitchen.

I remember Jillian did not include her warm up/cool down times. Now I've learned that Tracy does a 4 minute warm up and the stretch time at the end varies, so I add 10 minutes to the workout duration. Oherwise, I look at the video's progress bar. Have fun getting your Jillian Fix!

    Laurel, great workouts!
Sounds like we're having the same weather system again!

It really is a weird trend to not include warm up and cool down times in a workout duration period. If it's part of the workout it should be included in the duration time.
I hope you get to see the hummingbirds that are draining your feeders! I didn't see a single one today!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Still cold this morning, but they are saying the temps should be in the 60's today. Well I pulled out a Jillian workout and did 6 Week Six Pack Level 1. It was actually a good one to do, since it was core focused. No jumping around, but she still got those moves in that make the hr go up.

We have the color for our walls, don't know when DH is going to start painting. We also agreed on stains for the table and chairs. The top of the table will be a very dark stain, and the bottom portion will be a white stain. DH is all about the wood grain, so this is a good way for me to get the look that I want, and his need to not paint wood. :D

Laurel, Awesome job with the workouts! Yes all this rain really is good for the plants, it's really nice to see more and more things sprouting and blooming around here. So you are planning on starting the STS 2.0 in June? I think that will be good for me also. I'm going to continue along with this current rotation that I came up with, and putting in or taking out workouts. I'm also looking forward to the new workouts. I'm going to be doing previewing also, just to see what additional equipment I may need. I haven't been wanting to buy anything for these workouts, because I think that I only need a few things. I'm really happy that Cathe showed different options.

Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Nice that you where able to figure out the additional timeframe for the workouts. I have had to pass up on a few workouts that I want to try, just because the length is just way to long. I have been leaving Saturday's as my longer workout day. I think this weekend is the first time we don't have anything going on. If the weather is nice, we will be outside.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute spin followed by 30 minutes of yoga conditioning. Peloton recently started offering these yoga conditioning classes, and this is the first one I tried. I used 1# and 3# weights, and I enjoyed it. On days when I want yoga with a little more intensity, I can see reaching for one of these workouts again.

Thelma, great workouts. We got rained on more last night and they are expecting strong storms tonight. I just wandered around the backyard, and everything that is alive looks so green. I keep looking for our hummingbirds, but I am not seeing them. But we had a hawk hanging out in the yard yesterday, so I am hoping at this moment that the hummingbirds are somewhere else.

Laurie, great workout. I used to enjoy that one from Jillian. Right now I am planning on starting 2.0 on June 18. I am hoping to go through most of the workouts before then to make sure I have everything I need to do them. Like you, I really don’t want to buy any new equipment unless I have to. I also want to make sure that I want to do four weeks straight of the workouts in each section before starting. That’s a lot of repetition which I am not always a big fan of. B) But I really do want to make the most of this series, so I am going to give it my all to do it as prescribed. I love the sound of your table!! I so want a table just like that…..dark wood top and white or light grey base. Sounds beautiful. What color did you decide on for your kitchen?

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Tracy Steen Sweaty No Jump Cardio and Standing Ab, Jessica Smith Interval Training and Walking.
I was very fatigued today and my body just needed a break from hard workouts, so I gave myself a break. I've also been dealing with plantar fasciitis. I'm not happy about this. I've been spending more time stretching and massaging my calves and feet.

We've had 2.5" of rain since early Wednesday morning.

Laurie, great workout! I hope your temperatures really warmed up into the 60's.

I'm glad you have the color for your walls. I think your table and chairs will look very nice with those colors.

I like to do one of my hardest workouts on Sunday. I hope you have nice weather this weekend.

Laurel, great workouts! I love the sound of those yoga conditioning classes! I used to have a yoga workout that used lite weights and I really liked it.

Everything is green here too. We had some thunder too, but it didn't last long.
I hope you see your hummingbirds soon. I actually saw a hummingbird at the feeders on Thursday.
I always worry when I see the hawks. There's been one circling the sky near our house.

    Have a wonderful weekend ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

My workout this morning was TaeBo Basics #11. Really enjoyed the TaeBo last week, so decided to do another one. I think that I will go through all 12 of them, and then move on to something else. So every Friday is TaeBo for now. :D

We are going to have a very wet weekend, and I have an eye appointment on Saturday. So I'm probably going to be sewing a lot, unless the weather forecast is incorrect.

Laurel, Sounds like some great workouts! I have seen a few yoga workouts like that on GHUTV that I have never tried. So the workouts are set up like STS, by doing each section for 4 weeks? I have not been keeping up with the information, so didn't realize that. :/ Guess I will be really looking at these workouts, and trying to psych myself up to doing the same workouts for that long a time period. My workout ADHD may not allow me to do that. :D I enjoy variety. We picked a beige color that leans toward white. I wanted the kitchen to be light, because our cabinets are wood. Right now we have yellow, but it doesn't go well with the new countertops.

Thelma, Love the workouts! So sorry to hear that you are dealing with PF again. Wow that's a lot of rain. My Mom's area is dealing with flooding right now, and the rain is suppose to continue all weekend. The day that we had light snow here, they received over 16" of snow. The temps for us got into the high 50's, but it was chilly.

    Have a great weekend,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout wasn’t at all planned. Initially I was going to do Cathe’s Live workout from yesterday which was a Bootcamp-style workout and then a step workout. But this morning I felt like a longer, more traditional total body workout. So I went through the Cathe Live workouts and found one from 2019 I had never done, which was Total Body Giant Sets 3. It was a great workout, and it was made better because it used the same music from my favorite kickboxing workout. So, of course, that meant I had to do my favorite kickboxing workout which is Cathe Live Love Me Some Cardio Kickboxing. Both of these workout are on the longer side for Cathe Live, but it was a fantastic and fun combo.

Thelma, great workouts despite feeling tired. I am glad you listened to your body and took it down a notch. I am sorry to hear about your recurrence of PF. It is so painful and so limiting. Hopefully it clears up soon with the the stretching and care you are giving it. You got a lot of rain! I don’t know how much we got, but it was quite a bit. But now the sun is beginning to come out and, hopefully, it will do its Spring magic on our poor struggling shrubs. DH and I are going plant shopping again tomorrow. I think it is time to make some decisions on our shrubs that are showing no or very little life.

Laurie, great workout. Sounds like a plan for Friday workouts. After my workout this morning, I am beginning to think Friday workouts should be focused on fun. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a beige shade of paint. There are so many ways of adding color to a room that doesn’t include paint.

I went to Cathe’s forums a couple of days ago, and this is what Cathe posted in one of the Q&A sessions about the series and rotations:

"There are three phases. And each of these phases focuses on what you would think of as a blend between Mesocycle 2 & 3 from the original STS. Each of these phases is independent of one another and they work each muscle group 2 to 3 times per week. You’ll do the strength workouts three days a week in one phase, four days a week in another phase and three to six days a week (depending on the option you choose) in the remaining phase. The phases do not have to be done in any kind of order. Each phase also does not have to be done for four weeks only before moving to the next. You can spend between four and 12 weeks on a particular phase before moving on. That being said initially it might be nice to do each phase for four weeks and then trying another one and finally the last one. Once you’ve experienced all three you can stay within each one longer if you prefer. Likewise, you can mix and match and do one or two weeks of one and switch out and do one or two weeks of another. This workout program has a lot of flexibility and intensity. No matter what phase you are in as long as you lift what challenges you for around eight reps each phase will develop strength/hypertrophy. Eat well, stay hydrated and sleep hard and watch the results kick in.

The three phases are: Total Body Workouts, Solid Upper Body/ Solid Lower Body Split, and One Body Part At A Time (which will include pre-mixes that mix two body parts together offering yet a fourth method of training). These various phases were chosen for their intensity building properties. Within each of the phases you’ll experience enhanced training techniques such as drop sets, paused reps, finisher sets etc."

So she kind of recommends 4-12 weeks in each phase and then says ‘but it’s up to you’. That is one of the reasons I really want to do these workouts once before deciding on a rotation. To be honest, I think I would be fine with four weeks of the upper/lower workouts and one body part workouts, but I can’t see me enjoying four weeks of total body workouts, especially doing three total body workouts each week. But I know I prefer way more variety in my workouts than four weeks of the same workouts, regardless of whether they are total body workouts or not.

So maybe between the three of us, we can come up with a good rotation (after we see the workouts) that makes a solid rotation useful, productive and enjoyable. My mind already goes to doing one upper/lower and total body in a week. Or doing one week of each type on a rotation for a set number of weeks. Or, since the one body part DVDs have options for doing two body parts, changing those up each time we decide to do them. Anyhow, that’s kind of where my mind is at right now. I do want to do a 12 week rotation of these workouts, but maybe not as recommended.

I would love to hear both of your thoughts on this. Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a great weekend. We had a pretty good weekend. It was rainy and it turned extremely windy after the rain ended on Sunday morning. I believe it will be windy on Monday too. We're in for a dry period for the next two weeks.

I spent part of the weekend researching plantar fasciitis and I was happy to read that exercising can continue. I obviously can't jump or run, but I can use my spinning bike and walk if it doesn't cause discomfort. I'm going to be doing massage, stretching, balancing and strengthening exercises.
Laurie, great workout! I hope you got a lot of sewing done.

I can't believe your mom's area is flooded! I'm sure the melting snow didn't help the situation.

Laurel, amazing workout combo on Friday! Great job!
Thankfully, my PI will clear up soon too. We got a little less than 1/2 inch of rain between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
I hope you were able to find the plants you like. I have two Peony flowers and about 5 buds.

Cathe's program sounds so good! I like the idea of doing each phase for 4 weeks too. It sounds like we could do the same type of format you came up with for our previous rotations. One month upper/lower, the next one body part. I agree with about doing 4 weeks of total body workouts, but it can be done as long as it is three days a week.
I can't wait to see her premixes look like. If 4 weeks of the same workouts is too boring, doing the premixes will help to make it more interesting.

    Have a great week!

    Morning Ladies,

We had such a nice weekend, despite the fact that it was cold and rainy. On Saturday I went to the eye doctor. My astigmatism got slightly worse, and my vision didn't change all that much. After that we met our dd's, grandson and youngest dd's bf in Milwaukee. We went to the museum, it was good to go through it again. They are going to be building a new museum, so it was a good idea to get there before we are unable to see some of the exhibits anymore. The new museum will be smaller, so they will not be able to take a lot with them. Sunday I spent all day sewing. I was able to get a really big chunk of pieces finished for the quilt that my niece will get for her wedding in October.

My workouts where Satruday LITE PHA 2, Sunday P30 Perfect Flow: Mobility Basics + Core Bonus and this morning was GHUTV No Jumping HiiT 2.

Laurel, So glad to see that you had such fun with your workouts! Having Friday as your fun day really does sound like a great idea. I think that is why I started to do the TaeBo workouts again. Even through they are not difficult workouts, they always where fun for me. Thanks for all the information that Cathe gave, it really does help and I think that we can come up with something that will work. Just from what she indicated in the above, it can be used in some very interesting ways. I will be interested in how Cathe sets up the rotation for the total body phase.

Thelma, Sounds like your weekend weather was a lot like ours. Great job on your workouts, and of course getting more information on the PF to help you determine what workouts will be okay for your body. The area my mom lives in received another 10" of snow this weekend. Crazy stuff, but I do remember having softball games cancelled because of snow. Still can't believe that Cathe will be putting premixes on these workouts.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was busy. We spent both days working on our garden. We decided to replace more plants than we originally thought we would, but I am okay with that. We got to choose some different plants that I think we will like more than the ones the builder put in. But both days were physically challenging not only because we were having to dig in Alabama clay, but nearly five year old shrubs have a lot of roots. But the areas we worked on look a thousand times better than they did on Friday. It is amazing how just a little green goes a long way. We are going to try to wait a few weeks to see if any more of ours shrubs come back to anything resembling full life and decide then if we want to replace more then.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a Jessica walk and yoga. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin followed by ICE Chiseled Lower Body Boast with Blizzard Blast and Icy Core 2. Today was STS Disc 16/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps followed by Step Moves.

Thelma, great workouts. We didn’t get any rain over the weekend here but the wind yesterday and today is just bad. I am really hoping the wind takes the cool temperatures and disappears soon. Your PF should clear up pretty quickly if you treat it nicely. Mine always feels better with new shoes. :)

Laurie, great workouts. Sounds like a nice weekend. I am surprised they are building a smaller museum, but I suppose support for museums may not be what it once was. Glad you were able to get one last visit in.

Since Thelma mentioned she couldn’t find the premix info on STS 2.0…..here is a link. I never would have found it if people on Cathe’s site hadn’t been talking about it. You just need to scroll down to just below the ‘Add to Cart/Add to Wishlist’ tabs and you’ll see three more tabs for ‘description’, ‘equipment needed’ and, finally, ‘premixes’.

Hi Ladies, my feet are feeling MUCH better! Sunday was a scary day. My feet really hurt. I am so thankful to have found a yoga session to help with PF and also strengthening exercises. I took it easy in the morning but by the afternoon I knew I could exercise. Tracy had the perfect workout for me on Monday. It was a total body mini band and dumbbell workout. As usual there were lots of squats and lunges and a little jumping. I kept it low impact and shallow and I skipped a couple of exercises that simply looked risky.

One of the biggest things I've learned is how big a role our toes play and the importance of using them, strengthening them and keeping them separated. We hardly use our toes because they're always confined to our hard shoes. The sneakers we use a couple of doctors say are like wearing a cast. The elevated heels shrink the Achilles tendon and the narrow toe boxes keep our toes from moving. Two of the doctors I found in YT are recommending minimalist or zero drop shoes with wide toe boxes and even toe socks. I've been wearing toe socks since before I had my bunionectomy because I had a Morton's neuroma between my toes, thanks to jumping on a hard floor. I discovered then that keeping the toes separated helped ease the pain, so I started wearing toe socks and wide toe box sneakers.

My workouts on Monday were Walking, YinYasa Yoga, Jessica Smith-1 Mile Walk,
Tracy Steen No Repeat Total Body Dumbbells & Mini Bands, and Plantar Fasciitis Exercises.

Our temps dropped into the high 30's on Sunday night and will do so the next few nights. The crazy wind continued all day and will probably continue on Tuesday.

Laurie, I'm so glad you had a nice weekend despite the weather. I have astigmatism too and my prescription rarely changes. I think the biggest change I usually need is to make sure everything is darker. The visit to the museum with the family sounds wonderful! How sad that they're going to move to a smaller facility and won't be able to take all the exhibits with them.
Good job with the quilt pieces! Did you ever finish your youngest DD's quilt?

    Great workouts!!

I had the feeling you had rainy weather like ours because somehow, we always have similar weather. OMG! I can't believe the area your mom lives in received so much snow! I hope it's at least melting fast now.

Laurel, you had a very busy weekend! I'm glad you found better plants than what the builder planted. I remember that you never really liked those shrubs and I'm sure you're both very happy with the new ones. I bet it looks really nice.

    Great workouts!

I can't believe you didn't get any rain. We think the wind is a result of the storms FL had over the weekend.
My PF has nothing to do with the shoes because I'm wearing new sneakers. It has to do with me exceeding the load capacity my plantar fascia can take. Yesterday going barefoot was a scary thought, tonight I've able to do it without any fear. I've ordered two pairs of flat sneakers to slowly start training my flat feet to go minimalist. There's a doctor who goes by the name The Barefoot Sprinter. His name is Graham Tuttle. He runs barefoot! It's insane the things he's trained his toes to do!

Thanks for the link to Cathe's STS 2.0 page with the premixes! I like that some of them include the bonuses and I love the mish mosh premixes.

Speaking of Cathe, she won't be teaching the live class on Thursday because her mom is having surgery and she's going to be with her for a week. She'll be back next Thursday.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Can I say I just want a day with sunshine around here. ;) They are predicting warming temps, but right now you have to wonder if that will happen. :D This mornings workout was RAW Day 1 Back & Biceps. This was a good one.

Laurel, Awesome job with all the workouts, and of course you landscaping workout too. Sounds like it was a really intense job getting all those roots out. Can't imagine what that clay is like, ours is just hard.
Glad that the area you worked on is looking so good. DH and I still have section that we need to work on, so that will probably be what we work on once the weather starts cooperating. Thank you so much for the link to the premix information. I'm going to take a look at that later tonight.

Thelma, Glad you where able to find some workouts that didn't cause your pf to flare up. I have not worn the toe socks yet, but my youngest wears them all the time. I'm usually walking around the house without shoes, and even this morning I didn't wear any shoes for the workout. It's upper body so didn't think it would hurt. ;)

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute HiiT and Hills spin, STS Disc 26/Plyo Legs and a super tough 10 minute core session from Peloton. I had just enough energy after that to crawl over to my TV and start a 20 minute floor yoga class, which felt great. Tough stuff today for sure.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad your feet are feeling better. I have some serious toe issues from wearing high heel shoes walking on the concrete around downtown Denver in the nine years I worked down there and used public transportation. My mom warned me it would cause feet issues later in life….and she was right. I work on the flexibility in my toes every day, and keeping them flexible makes all the difference in my feet, my knees and even up into my hips. I have never tried toe socks, though. I might have to look into that. Thanks for the update on Cathe. I hadn’t seen that. I hope you survive the wind today. We have a wind advisory and it is really beginning to blow now. I am done with the wind so it can be gone anytime soon. :)

Laurie, great workout. I will try to send some of our sunshine your way and leave out the accompanying wind. The days look beautiful only to walk outside and be blown over. :D But I think I will take this over constant gloom for sure. Hope your weather clears soon. I don’t think we are quite done with our landscaping yet. I am really beginning to doubt whether anything is going to fully come back to life. DH and I were counting, and we have already removed 23 shrubs. :o And we have another 12-14 that may come out too. Makes me sad because everything had matured so nicely. But I know I am not going to have the patience to look at half dead shrubs all summer. B) Cathe seems to have done a nice job with the premixes for 2.0. The workouts are longer than I expected them to be, so it is nice to see quite a few express options.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Yin, Tracy Steen Killer Core, Spinning and Walking.

My feet felt a little bit tight in the morning, but once I got moving things got better. One pair of the minimalist shoes arrived, but they were a little short, so I ordered a larger pair. I did love how the shoes fit though. My feet felt very happy and safe in them for the couple of minutes I wore them.

Laurie, great workout! I hope you get a sunny day soon!
You are so lucky to be able to walk around barefoot like you do. I never could because of my flat feet, but now I know it's because of my plantar fascia. It takes a little while to get used to wearing toe socks and now I only own toe socks.

Laurel, great workouts! awesome workout combo!!

High heels are so bad for our feet. I don't even know how I walked on high heels on the hard sidewalks. After a while I started wearing sneakers during my commute. wearing pointy shoes gave me bunions. I am so glad you give your toes a lot of love because they are so important. If you decide to buy yourself a pair of toe socks buy Injinji. They are the best toe socks in the market. There are a lot of other brands out there, but they don't fit as good as injinjis do for me. I did find another company that makes pretty good socks, but the toes are slightly too long for me. Toe socks do take a little more space in your shoes because your toes are spread out a little bit.

Oh my gosh with the wind! It seems to have died down, but I've read that we may have wind gusts of up to 16.5 mph on Wednesday. We are done with the wind too. I went out at about 7pm to let the chickens out on last time for the day and was freezing!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Whatever the two of you did by giving us some good mojo with the sunshine, keep it up. :D Very sunny this morning, and really looking forward to a little bit warmer weather. This morning's workout was RAW Day 2 Chest & Triceps. Another good one.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts, and of course getting your crawl into the mix also. :D I love that description. Oh my on the amount of bushes that you replaced, and still have to deal with. We do not have anywhere near that amount, so you both really worked hard this weekend for sure. I'm hoping that I can get some of the 2.0 workouts into my morning. I will have to wake up in a timely manner instead of hitting the snooze button. :o

Thelma, Love the workouts! Glad to hear that your pf is loosening up for you. Hope those toe socks continue to be beneficial to your feet. I remember having those toe socks when I was a teenager. But of course they where just for fashion. :D I need to get in for some foot care and get a pedicure. I know that my feet would love that after this winter. Of course it doesn't hurt to have pretty toes for the summer.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 18/Back and Biceps, XTrain All Out Low Impact HiiT and 20 minutes of really good power yoga. Despite yesterday’s tough workout, I felt really good today. The wind has died down, which helps. :)

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad to hear you will like your new shoes once you get the right size. Thank you for the toe sock recommendation. I will look into those for sure. We had wind gusts yesterday afternoon over 40 mph. Of course it was trash day so trash bins (empty, thankfully) were rolling everywhere. When DH was coming home I had to let him know that the two trash bins laying in the street in front of the house weren’t ours. I had tucked ours into the garage before the wind hit. Today is much calmer, and it looks like the last day in the 60s for quite awhile. Yay! B)

Laurie, great workout. And yay for sunshine! Bet that helps the energy levels. We do have a huge garden space that the builders loaded with way too many plants. I have no idea what they were thinking to be honest. But I can only guess is that they didn’t expect them to grow. :o So we had already taken probably over a dozen plants out in the last couple of years. Then this year’s 20+ (so far). And then I think we have 28 still left. So, yes, it’s a lot. When I saw the running times for the 2.0 total body workouts, I was surprised how long they were. She did keep everything under an hour but with those….not by much.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Gentle Flow Yoga, Walking, and Tracy Steen Body Weight Hiit Workout. This HIIT workout had some high impact moves, but I kept it all low impact. I'm happy to report that thanks to Tracy I no longer dread ab work. I've actually seen my out of shape abs change.

The wind was still going strong on Wednesday morning, but by the afternoon it had already died down and we were in the 60's.

My PF is still bothering me but nothing like it was before. I felt pretty normal this morning. In the afternoon I was sitting down and all of a sudden, I felt my right calf start to tighten up. I massaged but I still felt it. At night I massaged again and used the hitting pad on my calf. I think that helped! Thank God!

Laurie, I'm so glad you finally got some sun! I'll keep sending sunny vibes your way! Great workout!

I used to have toe socks many moons ago too. They were the colorful ones with each toe being a different color. Those things were rough! The ones I have now are nothing like those. These ones are soft and fit like a glove. I'm sure you would love pampering yourself with a pedicure.

Laurel, great workouts! I was surprised at the STS 2.0 workout running times too because Cathe said they'd be shorter times. At least I've been doing pretty long workouts with Tracy so I'm not dreading the run time. I hope she'll provide some rotations so that we can get either do it or get some ideas from it.

Thank goodness the wind finally died down. It was really windy there too!

I got an alert from our county that we were under a red flag fire alert due to the wind conditions. I can just imagine the trash cans rolling all over the road!

I got the toe socks The Barefoot Sprinted recommended and they are very good. I still prefer my injinji socks, but you can't beat the price on these ones. I got 4 pairs for what a pair of Injinji socks costs! They are the VWELL Toe Socks for Men Women Ankle Cotton Five Fingers Socks Low Cut Athletic Running Socks 4 Pairs Size 8-11.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Another day of sunshine! My workout was RAW Day 3 Shoulders & Legs. Another winner.

Laurel, Nice job with the workouts. I will have to pull out that low impact workout for my HiiT day. I have not done a lot of Cathe's HiiT workouts, and I figured that they would probably go very well with the new 2.0. I can't believe that you have so many more plants that you need to deal with. Hopefully your weekends are nice and those plants can get tackled. With the running times of the total body workout almost reaching the 1 hour mark, I will be very interested in what type of rotation she has for the total body phase. That could be a really tough phase if they are done every other day for 4 weeks.

Thelma, Congrats on seeing some changes to the abs! Great workouts, and I'm sure that your pf will get better and better over time. Yep my toe socks where those colorful ones also. Of course you could barely get your toes into them after they where washed. :D Oh the memories. I don't think that I told you about the quilt for my dd. That one is slowly getting done, but still in the flimsy stage at this point. I don't have any weddings/babies after this so I can concentrate on those going forward.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I was in a mood when I got up this morning (no idea why) so I promptly decided I was going to do the hardest rated 60 minute spin workout on Peloton. I think I figured it would knock whatever was irritating me out of me….and it did. :D The good news about the workout is it was a climb ride, and I am much better at climbs than sprints. I think if it had been an intervals ride, my mood would be worse. :) And I had already done it before when it came out three years ago. So knowing I had gotten through it once gave me a lot of confidence. It really is a tough ride, but I did my best with it, and am happy to be happy again. :p I followed it with 30 minutes of Pilates.

Thelma, great workouts. Hopefully your PF continues improve. Our weather is improving nicely. Even with a chance of rain over the next couple of days, it seems that the wind and colder weather are gone. I think the workout times that surprised me the most were the one-body part workouts, all of which are over 30 minutes. But I am also looking forward to those the most. I think the benefit in doing the workouts as she has suggested (4 weeks straight of each type) would to be able to see which type of lifting works best for our bodies. Is hitting every muscle 1, 2, or 3 times the best each week? But, again, I personally am not a huge fan of total body workouts, and I keep struggling mentally with four weeks straight of three total body workouts each week. So I am very curious if she comes up with a different rotation than what she has shared so far with these workouts.

Laurie, great workout. And yay for more sunshine! I think I was surprised that I was so cranky this morning because it is a truly beautiful day. I must have been having a bad dream when the alarm went off. Anyhow, Cathe kind of implied that her plan would include doing those total body workouts three days a week for the first four weeks, and I think that will be pretty tough. But maybe when we see the workouts, it will make a little more sense and seem more manageable. But I am really curious if she means we do all three of the workouts each week, or whether we would do one of the total body workouts for three days (one week) before moving on to a different one. I can’t imagine she would recommend that…..I hope. B) I guess we’ll find out soon enough. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Jessica Smith Fat Burning Cardio, Tracy Steen Sexy Arms Fast Blast and Walking.

The PF was acting up today but it's nothing like what I had been experiencing. I'll have to keep massaging and taking care of my feet. At least it's just right foot now.
My new minimalist sneakers came and the pair that I liked was too big and the smaller size is too small. Bummer!

Laurie, I'm so glad you had another sunny day. I hope the weekend is sunny too. Great workout!

Thanks Laurie, my waist is definitely smaller thanks to the ab workouts.

OMG! I'd forgotten the socks shrank when put in the dryer! LOL
I don't remember you telling us you were making a quilt for your dad. I'm sure he'll appreciate it very much. How is he doing?

Laurel, I'm so glad you were able to spin the crankiness out of your head! Congratulations on conquering the hardest rated 60-minute spin workout on Peloton for the second time!

We had a beautiful sunny day with the temps in the low 60's. We are expecting a cloudy and possibly rain from Friday through Monday! Next week will be warm! We're expecting temps in the high 70's to low 80's.

I can't wait to do the one body part workouts. They'll probably going to fry our muscles! I see what you're saying about the benefits of following Cathe's suggested path of 4 weeks straight of each path. I can see doing upper and lower twice a week each. The single body part rotation is easy because we'll probably do each part once a week. If we have to do 4 straight weeks of total body, I will do my workouts on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe’s original Pyramid Upper Body workout followed by a fun Cathe Live Boxing with Leg Blasts. It was a good way to end a week of tough workouts.

Thelma, great workouts. I am sorry your PF was acting up but hopefully that was temporary. We are getting a little bit of rain today and then we head straight towards the high 70s and low 80s over the weekend. I am ready for a little warmer weather, that’s for sure. I think if we are doing three total body workouts each week, I will probably do them the same day as you. Those are normally my spin and lower body days, but I would move that to Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with some yoga or Pilates. I am really anxious to get these workouts right now. I am still thinking it will be week after next at the earliest, but I will be ready for them whenever they get here. :)

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend! We had a pretty good weekend with much warmer temps. We got really heavy rain on Sunday night with a thunderstorm for a few minutes. It started out really, really windy, and thankfully the wind didn't last long.

My workouts on Friday were Gentle Flow Yoga, Tracy Steen Knee Friendly Leg Day and Walking.
Saturday: Jessica Smith Feel Good Fusion and walking.
Sunday: Tracy Steen Glutes and Shoulders and Walking.

    Laurel, great workouts on Friday!

The PF seems to be sticking around. Normally it's because my calves are tight, but I think this time is the entire leg. I have to be better at massaging my thighs too.
We got a little bit of rain on Friday but nothing like we got on Sunday night.
We were in the high 70's during the weekend. Our weatherman says that we're going to be having temps above normal for this time of the year. He said we'll be having late June temps.
I like the idea of doing strength training 3 days per week with the STS 2.0 program, that way we can do other types of exercises in between.
I hope we get the program next week too!

    Have a great week!

    Morning Ladies,

Sorry that I wasn't on on Friday. I had taken off the morning to watch the grandson. He is such a good boy, so I don't mind watching him. We had some really nice weather on Saturday. We went to pick up our tile for the backsplash, to the quilt shop to pick up some fabric and then to the hardware store to get mulch, and other misc. items that we needed. Sunday was again a very nice day, so enjoyed some time outside. This morning we are back to rain and cloudy. :)

My workouts where Friday TaeBo Basics #10, Saturday RAW Day 4 Total Body Strength, Sunday RAW Day 5 Stretch and this morning LITE Strong Body Stacked Sets: Upper.

Laurel, Great job with getting though that intense spin workout and of course all the others that you were able to do also. Love that upper body Pyramid workout. I'm hoping for the total body week to be different workouts, but like you said we will see what she comes up with. She is including recovery weeks into this also if I remember. Well if not I probably will have to have something. :D

Thelma, So sorry to hear that the PF is still bothering you. Awesome job with the workouts despite that. I'm looking forward to getting my email that says the workouts are shipping. My dad is pretty much the same, nothing really changes for him. It really has to be hard for him, but it's nice that he doesn't have a roommate anymore. He can watch whatever he wants to on the TV now.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was nice. Saturday we spent on indoor and outdoor chores, including getting our tomatoes and final flowering plants planted. We ended up buying more plants than anticipated, but it is hard for me to control myself when shopping for plants. Saturday was a warm but kind of cloudy day, but yesterday was downright summery. We took care of the new plants in the morning, then headed to the golf course. We only played nine holes because I wasn’t quite sure how my elbow would handle it (it did pretty good) but with the heat and the fact we opted to walk, that was plenty. It felt really nice to be doing something other than chores for a minute this weekend. :) We had buckets of rain last night and quite the thunder and lightening storm, but our temps are solidly in the 80s with no end of them in sight. I am good with that.

For workouts, on Saturday I did Jessica’s 5K walk and yoga. Yesterday was a 30 minute spin and Cathe Live Oh My Glutes. And today was STS Disc 10/Chest, Shoulders and Biceps and Cathe Live IMAX.

I just saw the email from Cathe saying they anticipate starting to ship the DVDs a week from Friday!! I can’t wait to get this program. This is the most anxious I have been to receive a Cathe program probably since the original STS series.

Thelma, great workouts. But I am sorry to hear your PF isn’t improving more. Unfortunately it is one of those recurring injuries that just takes so much time to recover sometimes. But it sounds like you are doing everything right for it. I was surprised how much rain we got last night. I was worried about our new little plants but they weathered it just fine. But we didn’t have the wind you did, so that probably helped.

Laurie, great workouts. I love that Stacked Sets workouts. I am glad you enjoyed your time with your grandson on Friday. I bet he is growing so much right now. I know I will want to take a recovery week between each section of STS 2.0 as well. I think I will want both the mental and physical break for sure.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were Jessica Smith-1 Mile Walk, YinYasa Yoga,
BLUCA Total Body (each circuit had Barre, Lower, Upper, Cardio, Abs) and walking.

I had a really good feet/calves day, so I'm happy all the stretching and massage I've been doing is paying off.

We are finally going to get our STS program! I know you're as excited as I am. I just read that Cathe recommends rest days as needed in this new program. She says recovery days are not the same as rest days. My rest/recovery day is usually Saturday when I just do a light walk and some gentle either pilates or lately a Jessica Smith fusion workout. Maybe our bodies will be so tired that we're going to need a real rest day. I don't see that happening. I have to move.

We got a little over 1 inch of rain from Sunday night into early Monday morning. We are expecting a rainy Tuesday and Friday with temps in the low 80's through Sunday.

Laurie, I'm glad you had nice weekend weather and enjoyed some outdoor and grand baby time.

Is your DH installing the kitchen backsplash tile?
    Great workouts!

We are all looking forward to getting that shipment notification from Cathe and her team.

I'm sure it is very hard for your dad to not be able to live at home. I'm sure he is loving not having a roommate.

Laurel, what a busy weekend you and your DH had. I bet your garden looks very nice with all those plants. I'm glad your elbow did very good playing golf!

    Fantastic workouts!

PF is not fun to deal with. I wasn't being very good at stretching after my workout and that is what caused the flareup. I'm going a lot of stretching and massaging with my massage balls.
I'm so glad your new plants survived the heavy rain!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

It was one of those morning's where I just wanted to stay in bed. We had a lot of fog this morning. So the workout I had scheduled wasn't something that I wanted to do. I popped in Cardio Party and did Premix #7. It was all the first round sequences, and a nice change of pace. Yah it wasn't super difficult, but I don't think that I would have been able to handle anything else this morning. Whenever I do Cardio Party it reminds me of the Road Trip.

Laurel, So nice that you where able to get out on the golf course and enjoy the day. I'm sure that we will have some of those nice days ahead of us at some point. You never know how many plants you may need, because some will not survive or produce anything for that matter. Great job with all your workouts. I also saw her information on the shipping. She said that she really loved the zipper pouch that the DVD's where in. Have to say that I'm just as excited to get these as I was the LITE workouts. That's probably why I'm drawn to these workouts right now. :D

Thelma, Looks like you did some really great workouts, and I'm very happy to hear that your pf is getting better. These workouts will be a change for us, so we probably will be a bit tired after doing some of them. To bad that truck has to move across country. When she said that the DVD's where coming from CA to Jersey I was like Noooo that's to long a trek. :D Yes DH will be installing the backsplash. We purchased the tiles that have the sticky back, so the process shouldn't take to long.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I really wish I hadn’t discovered that I can sort Peloton workouts from hardest to easiest. :# Today was one of those days I couldn’t settle on a ride, so I decided to do the hardest 45 minute workout I have never done previously from an instructor I love. It was a Rock (music) ride, and it was brutal. My workout room temperatures are at summer peak again, so there was nothing dry on me at the end. The STS workout I had planned for the day was Disc 39/ Squat Rack Legs and, honestly, I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to do less. So I did a nice cool down, then 10 minutes of core work from Peloton, and then I felt up to the STS workout, which went very well. I finished it with a nice yoga session….my 400th with Peloton. :o:)

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad your PF is feeling better. After my last bouts of PF, I make sure one body part on me is stretched every day, and that is my calves. It seems to help. That and a constant rotation of shoes. I don’t take a rest day each week either at the moment. Like you, I do a light workout on Saturday, which is usually a Jessica walk or light workout and yoga. I would be inclined to add another day just like that during my week if need be rather than having a complete rest day. My body and mind like just a little structured movement each day. But it may be that my body says otherwise when we get these workouts and demands a rest day. :D

Laurie, you made me smile when you mentioned Cardio Party reminds you of the Road Trip. :) I have the same reaction to it. Of all of the workouts, I remember that low impact cardio one the most. It was pure fun. And what a great workout on a dreary day. The zipper pouches for these workouts looks smaller than I envisioned. I think I am going to like it. So far our new plants seem to be doing well. But I went to trim some of the dead branches off of our partially alive shrubs yesterday, and despite the fact they are partially alive, I think they are also lost causes when it comes to really coming back. So I envision some shrub replacement again in our future, though we have already decided we won’t replace all of them. I suppose the bright side is I am loving the improvements we are making. It just looks so much cleaner.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Walking, Yin, Jessica Smith Low Impact Hiit and Tracy Steen Biceps & Triceps Supersets.

We got 0% of the 88% chances of rain on Tuesday! We did hit low 80's in temps.

I had another good PF day. I will continue with my massage/stretch routine because it is helping.

Laurie, good job getting a fun workout in and listening to your body/mind too!
I can't tell if the DVDs are in individual plastic sleeves or if they are the pop up kind.

We may be very tired from doing the new STS 2.0 program. I feel that I'd still want to do something lite on my day off. I hope Cathe gets the DVDs this week.

When is your DH going to get start installing the backsplash tiles?

Laurel, I love that Peloton has enhanced their sorting capabilities! It's hard to select a ride when they offer so many choices, so this sorting capability is going to be very helpful. Great workouts and congratulations on your 400th Peloton workout!

Tight calves are definitely the #1 reason for PF. I have to get back to being good about stretching. I was reading fitness shoe reviews on the Amazon website and some people used the same pair of sneakers for 10 years! Yikes! We may find ourselves needing a little extra rest between workout with Cathe's new program.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was P30 Perfect Pump Lower Body. Have to admit that this is one of my favorite lower body workouts. I do have to start wearing my weighted vest when I do this workout in the future. It's going to be a gorgeous day today, so after work I will be getting outside for a little while.

Laurel, Sometimes you scare me with the workouts that you attempt. :D I'm glad that the workout was one that made your workout so much better. I'm glad that I could give you a bright spot in your day with the Cardio Party. So sad that the plants may not survive. I hear you on the yard looking cleaner. We have been attempting that for a while with our yard. I think that I finally have a handle on our tree line in the back of our house. This is the first year that it hasn't been full of weeds before I've even had a chance to get outside to deal with it. Yesterday I went out to look at some ground cover plants that have not bloomed in a few years, and there they where all pretty and blooming.

Thelma, Great job with those workouts, and the pf improving each day! The sleeves appear to be individual. Cathe had a video on fb and she was flipping the sleeves, and they had a DVD on each side of the sleeve. That is my thought on the off days too, it will be a stretch or a light workout. Right now DH is getting his collector car ready for painting. I don't know if I told you that last year he backed the 442 into a plow at his friends garage and put a wrinkle in the back fender. So he is getting that prepped for new paint. He has also been sanding and priming his Toronado. That one is all in pieces, and the body is the last thing to do on it. I'm sure on one of the rainy days coming up that he will tackle the backsplash.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 11/Back and Triceps and Perfect 30 Low Impact HiiT and Pyramid HiiT Bonus. I also took a nice, long walk because it is a beautiful day here. They keep calling for rain, and the skies just keep being clear. B)

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you are seeing improvement in your PF. Like you, our rain chances keep disappearing. We could actually use a little rain with these warmer temperatures. I love the sorting functions on Peloton right now. It is helping me find workouts from years ago that I have never done. It seems like they put out far more 10-30 minute workouts now and fewer 30-60 minute workouts like they did in the past. So on my longer workout days, I seem to be reaching back to 2019 or 2020. I can’t imagine wearing the same pair of shoes for 10 years. :o

Laurie, great workout. I am secretly hoping that the lower body workouts from 2.0 are a lot like that workout. I love the pace and variety of moves. Hope you get a chance to enjoy your nice weather after work. I think one of the reasons I am so frustrated with our half-alive plants is, like you, we got control over the property line in the back of the yard early. And our grass is just beautifully green right now. So, in all, it looks as good as it ever has…..except for the half dead plants. I have a feeling they may come out of the ground this weekend. :# And I scare myself with my workouts sometimes too!!! :D

    See you tomorrow.
