Hi Ladies! Just a quick note to let you know today was a day without internet. :# We just got it back. Didn’t want you to wonder where I had wandered off to. :D I will post a proper update tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were Walking X3 and Tracy Steen Straight Strength -Lower, Upper, Compound and Abs (LUCA). I love this LUCA format. Each circuit has all 4 areas.

I was able to take Arnie to the vet, but unfortunately a vet tech saw him, and she couldn't tell if the stitch was broken. I'm still sure it is broken. The woman said his eye was irritated and that even if the stitch was broken, they couldn't do anything about it. Somehow, I don't believe that. Arnie seems OK and he has an appointment next Wednesday to remove the stitch or whatever is left of it. Today he was more like his healthy self, so he is feeling better.

OMG! Monday was a very cold and very windy day, and it will be like that the next few days. I didn't think we'd have another cold spell and yet, here we are again!

Laurie, that Tabata workout sounds great! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I am sure you're loving watching your g'baby. Is Thursday his surgery day? Daylight savings time needs to go!
Christmas in FL is simply weird! It really doesn't feel like Xmas at all. We spent Xmas in FL one year and it was kind of surreal.

I am not so sure that Arnie got an A Okay from the vet tech, so I can only hope for the best. My big motivation for walking is my chickens. I don't think I'd be moving so much if I didn't feel so bad about the chickens being in a cage all day long. They have a big space, but they love being outside.
16" of snow! OMG! Our original retirement place was going to be around Asheville, NC because we'd get 4 seasons minus the snow. Blue Ridge also gives us 4 seasons minus the snow. We get pretty cold here and I we never expected that. Temps on Tuesday night will drop into the low 20's!

Laurel, thanks for the update. I'm glad your internet service was restored.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was GHUTV Jab Punch Crunch Burner Workout. Another good one.

    Laurel, Dang internet! :D

Thelma, Sounds like a great workout, and of course all the walking. Happy to hear that Arnie is doing good despite the stitch issue. Baby's surgery is on Wednesday, and I will be watching him on Thursday. DD wanted me to watch him the day after, not the babysitter. ;) She went back to work yesterday, and they offered her the same job she has in a location that is 10 min. away from her home. She was so happy, because this will allow her to go home and have lunch with her son. I'm super happy for her. If all that walking is because of chickens, then that is a positive. I don't think that I will every have chickens, but that is a positive.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Sorry about yesterday. Another internet provider is laying fiber optic cable in our neighborhood which might have taken out the existing cable for the neighborhood. :| But at least they got it fixed. Anyhow, we had a nice weekend even though it rained all day on Sunday. And now it is cold. I am hoping my budding plants continue to bud because it looks like these below freezing temps are going to stick around through next weekend.

For workouts, Saturday I did a Jessica walk and yoga. Sunday was a 45 minute spin into Cathe Live Legs, Cardio and Core Galore. Yesterday was XTrain Burn Sets Chest, Back and Shoulders and Core 2 followed by S&S Cardio Slam. Today was another 45 minute spin and Perfect 30 Perfect Pump Lower Body with Bonus and Core. My elbow seems to be handling these heavier weights nicely which makes me very happy. :)

Thelma, great workouts. I love the sound of the LUCA workouts. Cathe has done a couple like that in her Live classes, and I love them. I hope Arnie is continuing to feel better. We are right there with you on the cold weather. I really didn’t expect to see lows in the low 20s again, but here we are. We did a walk around the yard this weekend and are seeing more signs of life in our bushes and shrubs. Hopefully this cold spell doesn’t impact that too much.

Laurie, great workouts. I love the sound of the one you did this morning. I am glad you enjoyed your time with your grandson. That is fantastic news that your DD is going to be able to work closer to home. Just being able to see him during the day will probably ease her mind so much. The thing about Florida at Christmas was how ridiculous Christmas songs sounded at the outdoor shopping malls. It is really hard to take ‘Let It Snow’ seriously when you are walking around outside in shorts and a tank top. :) I think that is kind of when I went off Christmas songs. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Walking, Gina B Low Impact, Yin Yoga and Tracy Steen Body Weight Hiit and Ab Workout.

We had another cold and windy day here in BR. At 1PM the temperature was only 38, which is very cold for that time of the day here in BR. Wednesday morning will start out in the high 20's and it's expected to warm up into the mid to high 50's!

One of my miniature lilacs got fried. DH had covered it, but the wind blew the tarp away. The strange thing is that the other lilac wasn't covered, and it looks great.

Little Arnie is doing great. We are almost done with his oral and eye antibiotics. He is not a fan of the eye ointment.

Laurie, great workout! Sounds like it was a fun one!

I hope everything goes well with the baby's surgery. I will keep him in my prayers. I am so happy to hear your DD will be working 10 minutes from home and that she'll be able to see her baby at lunch time! What a blessing!

I never expected to do the walking/low impact cardio I do when I'm out with the chickens, but it was a nice added bonus.

Laurel, Great workouts! I'm so happy your elbow is doing well with the heavier weights! I hope you can start playing golf soon.

I am glad your service got restored the same day.
I hope your plants will survive this cold weather.

Those LUCA workouts are my favorite. I also like that Tracy lists on the right upper corner of the screen the exercises and weights for each circuit.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning my workout was GHUTV No Repeater Low Impact Strength 2. You have to love a workout that doesn't repeat the exercises.

Baby goes in for his surgery at 10:30, so I will be a worry wort until I hear from dd.

Laurel, Funny how that seems to happen all the time with people digging. We have had that happen here at work many times, even with Diggers Hotline painting and flagging everything. Great job with all those workouts! So very glad to hear that your weight work is not affecting your elbow. LOL about the songs, that is probably a crazy sensation to have. I keep thinking about the song White Christmas. That is probably more appropriate to hear, since it is more of a thought.

Thelma, Love the workouts! I hear you with the cold weather, our mornings have been in the teens. On our walk this morning, DH said that he was ready for spring to come. Sorry to hear about the lilac, hopefully it isn't to fried. Love to hear that Arnie is doing so good. When I'm watching the baby tomorrow, she will be able to have lunch with me too. Her first day at the new place is tomorrow, so it is working out fairly well.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was XTrain Burn Sets Bi’s and Tri’s followed by Cathe Live Love Me Some Cardio Kickboxing. I also went for a nice walk since it is just a little warmer today than it has been. It was in the low 40’s instead of the low 30’s like yesterday. That is still pretty cold for here this time of year, but the sunshine made it feel tolerable.

Thelma, great workouts. I am sorry to hear about your little lilac though. We are under another warning tonight, not just for a freeze but for frost. I took one lingering look at my pretty daffodils when I came in from my walk. I am not sure they will like the frost.

Laurie, great workout. I am thinking about you, your DD and your little grandson today. I hope the surgery goes well and he recovers quickly. When I was out for this walk today I ran into the diggers for the new cable lines. There must have been 30 people in one poor guy’s yard just digging away. I am SO not looking forward to that in our yard. I think the Christmas song that bothered me most in Florida was ‘Winter Wonderland’. I don’t know why that one drove me crazy but it did. Probably because I was missing a winter wonderland. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Walking X2, Gentle Yoga and Tracy Steen Full Body Cardio & Strength. Tracy's workout was hard because it was a fast moving without breaks and she did a lot of compound moves. Each circuit was repeated 3 times. I was able to use heavier weights too which made me very happy.

This morning felt like heatwave when I left the house at 9:30 to go to yoga. The cold wind had died down and it was sunny. It got cold again after 5PM, but we got into the low 50's.

I'm sure you've been watching Cathe's STS 2.0 video clips. I just want to tell her to stop teasing us with those awesome video clips and to send our DVDs to us like yesterday! I know they're still working on the DVD's, but I'm getting impatient now.

    Laurie, great workout.
I hope everything went well with the baby's surgery. I can imagine how worried everybody must've been about the surgery. I can't wait to read your update on the baby. I'm so glad your DD will be able to join you for lunch while you take care of the baby.

I don't blame your DH for being ready for spring! I hope my lilac isn't totally fried. I'm sure it will recover but I doubt we'll get many flowers since it was already in bloom.

We are so happy Arnie is doing so well. We had to take Chico to the vet today because he started crying when he was eating his breakfast, which consists of some kibble mixed with his wet food. We immediately thought toothache and the vet agreed with our assessment because there's some periodontal disease and a tooth that looks bad, but nothing severe.

Laurel, great workouts! I am glad you had warmer temps too!

I am sure my lilac will recover. We're under another freeze warning tonight too and we'll have more cold nights starting on Sunday! I hope your daffodils survive the frost.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute spin, XTrain Cardio Leg Blast and 30 minutes of Pilates. I also took a nice walk since it is sunny and warm today. Rain moves in tonight with more cold weather for the weekend. :|

Thelma, great workouts. Yay for the heavier weights!! I bet that felt good. I hope Chico’s tooth heals up okay. Poor pup. I agree with the STS 2.0 clips. I am beginning to think we may not see these DVDs until close to May though. But I am okay with that. It should make for a good summer of workouts. :) I love that there are so many varieties of equipment and modifications shown in the workouts. That should make these workouts good for just about anybody at any level, and I like that.

Laurie, I hope you are enjoying your day with your grandson and that he is healing nicely from his surgery.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Walking Outdoors x2 and Tracy Steen No Jump Cardio & Standing Ab Workout. Tracy's low impact cardio workouts are always a good leg workout, and she uses small weights 2-5 lbs. There were plenty of compound moves and she hit the abs pretty well too.

Thursday was a beautiful sunny and warm day with daytime temps in the low 60's. Expecting a rainy Friday and low night temps for the weekend an early next week.

Laurel, great workout combo! Sounds like we'll be having the same weather!

It really felt good to use heavier weights, especially because it involved the shoulders!
Chico had a great day. No tooth complains and he ate his normal food and kibble. I called the vet to report on that and he wants me to call back on Tuesday to let him know how Chico is doing.

I agree with you that we may not get the STS 2.0 DVDs until close to May. It will be fun to get going with the program no matter what time of the year. I do like the variety of equipment she uses too. I need to get going with having DH install hooks so I can use the resistance bands for pull downs and other exercises. I had a nice setup in MA and now it's the time to do it here again.

Laurie, I hope the baby's hernia surgery went well and that he is not too uncomfortable. Praying for a speedy recovery for the little guy.

    Have a great weekend ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Baby's surgery went very well. He had two hernia's, a baby and an adult. No wonder the poor guy was so fussy. He did fairly well yesterday, just a little fussy once in a while. Of course g'ma has the patience of a g'ma. Not to pat my own back. He is getting to the point that he concentrates on your face, and smiles. Of course when mom got home, he was all smiles. :D

My workout for yesterday morning was GHUTV Ultimate Intervals 2, and this morning was GHUTV Kickboxing Strength 2. Both of the workouts where really fun.

Laurel, Awesome job with the workouts! To bad that they have to dig up everyone's yard to install the cable. That seem like a lot of people, do you have soil that is hard to get through? We have clay, and sometimes we have to use sledge hammers to get trough it. Oh yes that song would be very strange in a place like FL. :D

Thelma, Great job with all the workouts! Those Tracy workouts sound like a lot of fun. You must have sent the wind to us, it is really whipping out there today. Of course that was after all the rain had gone through yesterday. So sorry to hear that Chico is having dental issues, good thing that you where aware that he was not comfortable eating.

    Have a great weekend,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Rockout Knockout followed by Cathe Live Smokin’ Upper Body Blast. I think I might try some STS workouts again next week…..subject to change on a second’s notice. :D But my arm feels good so we’ll see.

Thelma, great workouts. We are definitely having the same weather and Sunday looks like it is going to be downright cold. But hopefully this is our last truly cold cold snap of the season. I am glad to hear that Chico’s tooth seems to be doing okay. I hope that continues. I am toying with putting a hook on the wall for tubing as well for this new series, but I think I will wait till I get the series to see if I need or want one. I go back and forth on it to be honest.

Laurie, great workouts. I am so happy to hear you grandson handled the operation well and is handling the recovery well. Two hernias is alot for a little guy. Poor thing. We have clay ‘soil‘ here which is very hard. I’m not quite sure why laying this fiber is going to be so intrusive to be honest. But yards, sidewalks and streets are marked up all over the place. Thankfully, as of right now, neither our yard nor our sidewalk have been marked so it looks like in front of our house they will only be doing connections/boxes. But I can see that changing as they move closer in our direction. Somebody in the community said they asked and were told the project was only going to take a couple of weeks. I laughed. They were in the same place working for the last two days, and that was in front of just one house. I’m thinking it may take more than 14 days at that pace since there are over 100 houses in the community.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. We had a quiet, windy and cold weekend. Nighttime temps dropped into the low 20's and on Sunday we never hit 40 degrees. We're expecting to hit low 50's by mid-Monday afternoon.

We lost power for about one hour on Sunday morning. Apparently, a tree fell down and it broke the tops of three electric poles!

My workouts on Friday were Gentle Yoga and walking.
    Saturday - walking
Sunday - walking and Tracy Steen Knee Friendly Lower Body

Laurie, I am so glad the baby's surgery went well. I can't believe he had two hernias! What is the between a baby and an adult hernia? Grandmothers are the best! Awww! How sweet that the baby was all smiles when his mom got home!

    Great workouts!

Tracy's workouts are challenging and fun. Sorry the wind hit your area too. The wind is still here! Surprisingly Chico hasn't complained about his teeth since last Wednesday. Poor little guy. He actually started squealing in pain and was shaking. I had to hold him in my arms to calm him down.

Laurel, great workouts. I am so happy your arm is feeling good!

It's been very windy and cold. I actually bundled up and went outside to walk in the afternoon when we had the warmer temps. I keep thinking about installing a hook on the wall, but there isn't a good spot on our wall to do it because we have wooden walls. I do have one of those resistance band door anchors Cathe is selling but I'm afraid the spinning bike might get in the way. I suppose I need to test it out.

    Have a great week!

    Morning Ladies,

We had some crazy weather on Saturday. It was either sunny or snowing, and it kept doing that all day long. DH and I went to look at our quartz slabs for our new countertops, and then we proceeded to Best Buy to purchase our new range. We are updating our kitchen, and so far we have replaced the gold hardware with brushed bronze. They will be replacing the countertops in a couple of weeks, and we should have the range in that same timeframe. DH will be doing the backsplash, repainting the kitchen and then we will have someone refinish our hardwood floors. On Sunday we went out to celebrate the youngest dd's birthday, and I was able to get more g'ma time in since the oldest was there with the baby. <3

For workouts my Saturday was nothing, and Sunday was a long walk. This morning I did Caroline Girvan's Iron Series Leg Workout Day 1. I'm always impressed with how these workouts make my legs feel afterward.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts! More STS workouts!!! If they are working for you, then why not. I think that you are right, that project is going to take longer than a week. If there are that many houses in your area, and the soil is that hard.. It will take a while. I agree with you on waiting to see what we need for this new series. I don't want to get stuff that I will not use.

Thelma, Great job with all the workouts and walking. Today should be in the upper 40's when I get home, so I'm thinking a long walk will be a good thing to do. To tell you the truth, I don't know what the difference is between the two hernia's. From what I understand it is quite common for infants to have hernia's, especially boys. This is what the surgeon said.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Unfortunately DH got called into a work project late Friday that had him at work until 10pm and then was back at it for half of Saturday. But, thankfully, because the weather was expected to be so cold, we didn’t really have any plans for the day. Yesterday was even colder, so it was another quiet day. But I got the house cleaned, put a new duvet cover on the bed, cleaned out some cabinets, etc. Next weekend is supposed to be warm, so I have my fingers crossed we will finally be able to start working at cleaning out the garden and getting ready for spring and summer.

For workouts, on Saturday I did Jessica’s Cardio Ball Blast and 30 minutes of Peloton yoga. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin followed by Cathe Live Cardio Leg Blast with High Step. That one is one of her oldest Live workouts and it is only the second time I have done it because it is truly brutal. My legs are screaming today. So, today I did STS Disc 13/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps followed by Cathe Live HiiT It, Strike It and Crunch It. And some much needed yoga. :)

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad Chico is doing okay. I was actually really surprised how cold it was yesterday. We never hit 40 either and with the wind, it was just biting. But we are supposed to hit 80 on Thursday! :o I, for one, would prefer less yo-yoing between temperatures and something a little more predictable. But that being said, 80 is going to feel really good after this last weekend. :D

Laurie, great workout. Your weather on Saturday, though…. :o . But yay on the new kitchen purchases. Best Buy has some fantastic appliances for sure. I bet you are excited to have a new kitchen. It’s funny about STS because I really had to talk myself into doing that rotation, and now I don’t really want to do anything else. B) But that will change quickly when we get 2.0. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were walking and Tracy Steen Full Body L.U.C.K. Workout! Lower, Upper, Core, Kickboxing.

Monday was another cold day. It didn't warm up until the afternoon. It was 29 degrees at 11AM and low 50's by mid-afternoon. The warming trend starts on Tuesday.

Tuesday will be one of those long days when I have to go 1 hour south of here for doctors' appointments.

Laurie, how exciting about your kitchen update! I'm so glad you got to see your girls and the grand baby!
    Great workouts!

I took a quick look at hernias but did not find anything about adult/baby hernias. It seems that the type of hernia depends on its location.
    https://www.chop.edu/news/recognizing-and-caring-hernias

Laurel, sorry your DH had to work during the weekend. Good job getting so much done around the house.

You definitely will be able to work in your garden next weekend. We will be in the high 70's on Thursday. People here recommend waiting till after Easter Sunday to plant anything.

Great workouts! I knew you'd be doing STS workouts again!

It was definitely a cold weekend. Hopefully the winter is now behind us. Pretty soon we'll be complaining about the heat! I would also prefer less yo-yoing between temps.

    See you tomorrow.

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was Caroline's Iron Series Upper Body. This one was Chest, Back and Shoulders, and I sure can tell that I went heavy enough.

Laurel, First off awesome job on all the workouts! Sorry to hear that your DH had to work so late. Sounds like you got a lot of inside work done inside, since the weather was so crappy. I need to get into some of the linen closets, I need to get rid of some things. The bright side for today, is temps getting up into the 50's. I was actually able to wear a heavy hoodie to work today. I put my winter coat on, and it just felt to hot even though our temps where in the 30's. Can't believe that you will have that high of temps, and if you do enjoy it for sure.

Thelma, What a great title for a workout, and awesome job! So your temps yesterday where what we are having today. When I went to babysit on Thursday, my dd had pictures of the hernia's. One was a hole, and the other I couldn't quite see what was going on. Have to say those pics where really good, technology really has improved a lot.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and STS Disc 6/Legs. I don’t think I will be able to walk later. :D;)

Thelma, great workouts. I hope your appointment goes well. That’s a long trip for a medical appointment. I think we may be in the upper 50s today, but it still feels surprisingly chilly to me. And now, of course, since we are jumping to 80 degrees on Thursday, they are predicting violent storms again on Friday. Sigh. But at least the weekend should still be nice enough to work in the garden. :)

Laurie, great workout. I bet temps in the 50s feel so nice right now. And here I am complaining about it being chilly. B) Without moving every year, I have noticed how much stuff we can accumulate without realizing it. I have made it my mission this year to get rid of some of it. DH just stares at me when I say things like ‘we need to clean out the attic’, and I don’t really blame him. But we have way more stuff than two people should ever have in the first place. Adding to it shouldn’t be an option. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Walking x2 and Tracy Steen No Repeat Muscle and Hustle Workout.

DH and I had a very long day. At least it was productive. Our dermatologist was running one hour behind. She'd been stuck in traffic due to a bad car accident. We had an appointment with our estate attorney 45 minutes away from the dermatologist's office. Thankfully we had given ourselves enough time between appointments. We made it to the attorney's office with two minutes to spare after we hit Publix for 10 minutes and grabbed a sandwich to go! LOL
DH thought the attorney's office was also in Canton, but on Monday night he realized it wasn't. Our home is 1.45 hours from the attorney's office! Yikes!

The day started out cold, but the afternoon warmed up into the low 60's! Wednesday will be in the high 50's and 76 on Thursday and Friday!

Laurie, great workout! Is this Caroline's series a different one than the one you did before?

It's always surprising to me when end up having the same type of weather. LOL
Technology has come a long way for sure. How is the baby doing? When are you going to babysit again?

    Laurel, great workouts!

Most of my doctors are now in Canton. We really don't have good full-time doctors in these rural areas. Some of the good doctors come here twice a month and a few maybe a week, so it isn't easy to get appointments. The majority of my doctors are all at the same medical facility. My medical record is now in one computer system for all my doctors to see.

I hate those violent storms! I just checked and we may have some thunderstorms on Friday night. We uncovered when we got home from our appointments and my Peonies are doing great. Now I have to make sure the chickens don't eat them!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was Caroline's Iron Series Glutes. I really love this focus on the glutes, I know that I don't do enough of it. I do have to say that my body feels really good not doing a lot of cardio. Tomorrow I'm going to do some boxing, but I'm really enjoying just weight work right now.

Laurel, Awesome job on the workouts! I hear you on the way your legs feel after those tough workouts. I'm feeling the glutes right now. I went a little lite on the weight, so next time I do a glute workout I will have to up the weight. Love your mission! Once the weather starts to improve, I'm planning on doing the same thing. I also want to update the "guest" bathroom. I'm wondering if I should have DH buy some different hardware for the cabinets in there also. He is on a role, having replaced all the ones in our kitchen. :D I think that he will probably look at me the same as your DH with the attic. :D

Thelma, Great job on the muscle and hustle, and your walking! Sorry to hear about the long day, you both did a great job with the time management. I have done this series previously, and I enjoyed it a lot. I know that as I'm getting older, these weight workouts are more forgiving on my knees. I just need to make sure that I'm using the right amount of weight to make it effective. I do need to get out and walk a lot more, just don't feel like it when I get home from work.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 15/Back and Biceps, Cathe Live Cardio Kickboxing and Core and yoga. Good stuff today. I have felt surprisingly strong on these upper body workouts this week, which is nice.

Thelma, great workout even with the long day out. I am glad it was at least a productive day. A friend of my sister’s who retired from teaching this year (like my sister) was contemplating moving to Alabama and my sister asked my thoughts. The one thing I told her was that medical care in the rural areas is just not good. I know ours is worse than yours in Georgia. It is shocking to me how many counties don’t even have a hospital or doctors like OB/GYN or pediatricians. I am so glad you were able to find a good medical center that has everything you need in one place and is relatively easy-ish to get to. Anyhow, we woke to the surprise of rain this morning and it has been raining on and off all day. :o I am hoping this, combined with warmer temperatures tomorrow, really gets things growing.

Laurie, great workout. I think one of the reason I am enjoying STS so much is because when I am doing it, I cut back on the cardio, and my body loves that. :) I also have slept better in the last four months since I started the rotation than I have in, literally, year. So there is something to be said bout a good strength training routine…..though kickboxing is good too. :D I would think changing the hardware in your guest bathroom would make a significant difference with not too much effort. I say ‘go for it’, but don’t tell your DH that I encouraged you to give him more chores. :p But if he is anything like my DH, he is probably enjoying what he is able to do at home since he no longer is working. I know if my DH wasn’t working, he would have completely rebuilt our deck by now. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Tracy Steen Sculpted Arms with Cardio, Walking and Gina B HIIT for Weight Loss.

I really struggled with my workouts today. I think the rain made me lazy, but I finally managed to talk myself into working out.

Someone got our forecast wrong because we had a pretty rainy Wednesday. The rain started at around mid-night on Wednesday and didn't stop until 6:45PM, then it started raining again at around 8:30 PM for a short period. As of 7PM we'd gotten 1 inch of rain.

Our Arnie got his eye stitch removed. No more cone for him! It's so weird now to see him without the cone around his head.

Laurie, great workout! I'm glad you're repeating this series because you enjoyed last time you did it.
Good job for listening to your body! I know you'll have fun boxing.

We definitely need to be careful with our knees. I find that lunges are sometimes hard for my knees some days. I think stationary lunges are better. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out when you get home from work. Maybe you could try a fun YT low impact workout.

Laurel, great workout combo! I read Cathe's live workout description for Thursday and I think it said upper body! Your arms are really going to be tired. It's a good thing you're feeling strong! LOL

Medical care it's bad in these rural areas. There are a lot of primary care nurses and some of them are really good. We were lucky to have been able to get into our nurse practitioner's practice. That's another thing! You need to be accepted into someone's practice and a lot of them are not accepting new patients. God forbid you don't have a doctor and get sick. No one will see you because you've not established a relationship with their practice, but I don't think this is just here. I think this happens everywhere.
I don't trust most of the so-called specialists who come here. I was seeing an ENT who apparently is the only one around here, so lot of people know him. It turns out that he was telling everybody the same thing. At least for me it worked. My original rheumatologist here is a bad doctor because she didn't examine me and didn't care to check my labs or take notes. I knew she was bad, but I didn't have much of a choice. At least I knew she was giving me the right meds.
We have regional hospitals here. We have one in BR, but it is not that good according to some people. I've been to the ER twice and they were good.

We definitely had the same weather! It was a slow-moving storm. Every time we looked at the radar, it appeared that it would stop soon, and it didn't! Sometimes it would appear that it was stopping just to start raining again! I think things will start growing now.

    See you tomorrow.

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was RAW Heavy Bag 1. I used my 1.5# egg weights, but I'm still getting the bag. Just have not pushed the button to order. :D

Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Interesting how our bodies change over time. A lot of trainers indicate that as we get older weight work is better for us. Of course that all depends on us listening to our bodies. I'm glad to hear that you are sleeping better since you started the STS workouts. I enjoy the GHUTV workouts, but I found that my knees where hurting way to much even doing the low impact. I guess that if I want to do one of their workouts, it will have to be once a week. All I had to do was ask DH what finish was on the light fixture we recently put in for the bathroom. I indicated that we should probably change out the gold hardware in there to match the fixture. :D This morning he order the hardware that I like from Home Depot. The brushed bronze was one of our choices, but we went darker in the kitchen. It's so nice to see such how much a room changes, just by replacing the hardware.

Thelma, Awesome job with the workouts! We all have those workout days, nice that you pushed forward. Great news on Arnie, I'm sure he is way happier without the cone. I just have to not land my butt on the couch when I get home from work. I like to take a few minutes and read my book or look at some recipes. You healthcare situation sounds very similar to where my parents live. The closest doctors are a half hour drive away. One of the bright spots, is they finally have some decent doctors at the hospital. They had gone for years with really horrible doctors.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a fun 60 minute spin followed by a good stretch and Pilates. And in a few minutes, I will be outside attacking our garden areas. :) It is sunny and over 70, and it is time to clean them out. I am kind of looking forward to it, though my back may be saying something different later. :p

Thelma, great workouts. I was feeling the exact same way yesterday because of the rain. All I wanted to do was put on comfortable warm clothes and sit with a cup of tea and read a book. Thankfully the sun is out today. B) I checked in on that Cathe Live workout today (I will do it tomorrow), and she was actually using a band or 3# weights for some exercises (the class was using much heavier, of course). :o So she seems to be healing. It looks like a good one so I look forward to doing it. I am glad your medical care isn’t too bad. I am just thankful we have Tricare from DHs time in the military.

Laurie, great workout. DH and I went and looked at those boxing bags at Target. They had the bag without the stand, which I will need to get on line. But since I hurt my elbow, I haven’t bought anything yet. But I still hope to soon. Since we live in a community where houses are still being built, we wander through the new homes now and then. And recently they completed one where all of the kitchen hardware was plated gold! :o Somebody said it is on its way back. I don’t see me ever choosing to have it again. B) But I grew up with a green refrigerator and an orange kitchen and I don’t see me choosing to have those again either. :D I loved the brushed bronze. We have brushed stainless, which is okay but doesn’t bring any character to a room.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were walking x3 and Tracy Steen No Repeat Leg Day.

Laurie, great workout. Do your knees hurt when you walk?

I still have the punching bag I got for free in MA. It's a freestanding heavy bag. The base has to be filled with either sand of maybe water. I don't want to do either. I'll have to ask DH if we could fill it with bricks. The base is made out of hard plastic, but I worry about it breaking and having sand all over the place.

How exciting about the kitchen makeover. Hardware can make a big difference.

No doubt Arnie is happier without the cone.
The healthcare situation here is definitely a problem, especially because there are a lot of seniors here. I'm glad your parents have decent doctors at the hospital.

Laurel, great workouts! I bet it felt great to finally have the chance to clean up your garden areas. Good idea to save the live arm workout for Friday! It is good to see Cathe getting better.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one feeling lazy on Wednesday!
We may not get thunderstorms until Saturday morning and Monday. I hope you won't get any violent weather this weekend.

    Have a great weekend!

    Morning Ladies,

Today I'm taking a half day, we are going to be heading to the Dells for the weekend with our car club. My workout this morning was Iron Series Full Body. This one was 9 exercises done three times. She also had a finisher at the end. Next week I think that I will need to up my weights a little more, I was taking it cautiously this first week just to get used to the workouts again.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Hope that your back is okay with the gardening. Kind of sounds weird that you are in the garden, and we are getting snow tonight. :D I actually ordered the stand last night, so I'm half way to getting my bag set up. I think that we will probably pick up the bag sometime this weekend, since they have quite a few of them in the area. I totally understand not wanting to aggravate your arm with punching the bag. I have a space all ready for the bag. When I got home from work DH already had the hardware changed out in the spare bathroom. :D There where enough at the Home Depot by us, so he got that project done. It looks really great! I can't believe that the gold is back! He sent me links to a new light fixture for our kitchen, because that one is still the 90's dated gold plated fixture. I'm so ready for that one to change, and he picked out ones that he though I would like.

Thelma, Awesome job with the workout and walking! My knees are okay with walking, just as long as I have good shoes. The knees feel better without shoes, seems kind of strange to say that. On weekends I'm always without shoes on, and never seem to have any problems. I was hesitant to get that type of bag because of the water/sand thing. You can go crazy with the bag weight, but I know that I will never use the bag for kicking. With that in mind I could go with a lighter weighted bag on a stand. Now I will have to find the perfect glove. :D

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe’s live class from yesterday which was Upper Body Bliss. It was pretty moderate but intense enough to make the muscles feel worked. Her range of motion in her injured shoulder has really improved. You can tell she is just itching to get back into lifting. I understand that. Anyhow, I followed it up with an unplanned workout—Rhythmic Step. My body felt tired this morning and I wanted something fun. And it was fun. :)

Sadly it is beginning to look like we lost more in that freeze than what I was thinking when we looked at things a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, it is a tad disheartening. But we will pull out the bulk of the dead stuff this weekend and make things look better again. The only shrubs I want to replace this year are those that were around our AC unit. I want to get something growing there as soon as possible. I think the rest will wait until…..whenever. :)

Thelma, great workouts. I hope the storms don’t get too violent. They are supposed to hit us in the middle of the night tonight, which is my least favorite time for violent storms. Hopefully they just drop some rain and forget about all that wind and tornadoes and such. :D But the warm temperatures right now feel really good. B)

Laurie, great workout. Yay for the new bag stand! I will be curious how you like it. Sounds like your DH is doing a great job with the house improvements. I was surprised to see gold coming back too. But I suppose that is the case with everything. Enjoy your time at the Dells. I always smile when you mention that part of Wisconsin. I have only been through there once, but I just fell in love with that countryside.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a great weekend. We had a nice quiet weekend.

On Friday night we got hit with a very violent thunderstorm. I totally missed all the warnings. I had no idea the storm was coming. I don't know if it had to do with the tornadoes that hit Mississippi. Thankfully we didn't have any damage and my chickens were fine. DH and I didn't sleep much. It was super windy, and I could hear something plastic outside getting tossed around and scraping the ground. DH had removed some of the clear roofing panels from the coop, which we use to winterize it. He had them sandwiched between the wall and a heavy log bench outside our front door. The bench got blown away from the wall and the panels flew all over the place.

There's a small road that runs parallel to below our property. There's was a very tall, skinny tree that worried me because it always seemed to lean across the road with the wind. It finally gave out and it snapped in half. DH thinks someone moved the tree off the road, but it is possible that it didn't land on the road. Thankfully the tree isn't anywhere near a house.

My workouts on Friday were walking and Gentle Flow Yoga.
    Saturday - Walking and Pitales
Sunday - Walking and Tracy Steen Brutal Lower Body EMOM (Every Move on the Minute). I think this is a CrossFit term. The goal is to do the number of reps as fast as possible in a minute. Tracy had anywhere between 10 and 20 reps per exercise, so it's not like you had to keep going the full minute. The rest time was needed for sure. It was definitely brutal. There were 15 exercises X3
I did a lot of stretching and massaged my thighs to prevent DOMS.

Laurie, great workout! Good idea to start with lighter weights! I hope you and your DH had a great time with your car club friends at the Dells!

I'm glad your knees don't hurt when you walk. My flat feet don't like when I walk around the house without shoes.
I only got the bag with the stand because the price was right! It was free! LOL
Do you think the boxing gloves we have for Cathe's workouts aren't good enough for the punching bag?

Laurel, great workouts! I can just imagine how much Cathe is itching to get back into lifting.

I hope the storms didn't cause too much damage in your area. The storm was slow moving for sure. I think it was here 2-3 hours. Those were the longest hours ever. I thought our windows were going to get blown out a couple of times.

I'm sorry you lost more plants to the freeze than you thought. I don't blame you for wanting the shrubs around the AC unit replaced first.
I still don't know if my butterfly bushes are dead. It could be too early for them. Surprisingly my Peonies are doing great. I have no idea if they will bloom. I think I bought them because the nursery claimed they would bloom the first year.

    Have a great week!

    Morning Ladies,

We had a very good weekend. When you get this group of car people together, they love to talk. :D DH and I went to a quilt store, and a used book store that we found last year. Spent money in each location. :D Tomorrow my oldest DD turns 30. Can't believe it, time sure does fly by. We will be going out for dinner, it is also DH's Uncles birthday. We got hit again with the heavy wet snow, but nothing happened in the Dell's. Our youngest couldn't get the snow blower to do anything with it. Our neighbor came over and plowed our driveway out.

No workout besides walking on Saturday. I did Iron Series Arms, Abs & Core on Sunday when we got home, and then I spent the rest of the day sewing. This morning's workout was Iron Series Quads.

Laurel, Nice job on the workouts! Glad to hear that Cathe's shoulder is getting better and better. Sorry to hear about your plants getting frost damage. Being in Zone 5, we have to have those plants that are frost resistant. I noticed that daffodils where sprouting up, and we still are getting dumped on with snow. I hope that this is the last of the snow for us. The Dell's is a very pretty area for sure.

Thelma, Dang on the weather, and glad to hear that you didn't have any damage. The tornado's in Missouri where very scary. Great job with all the walking and workouts! Nice that you got that bag for free, that is awesome. I know that my gloves will work, but I also want a pair of thinner ones. That way I can do some variation.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was busy. It started much like Thelma’s with a wicked storm in the middle of the night. We were under a tornado warning for an hour with our phones screaming, the sirens blaring, etc. Not fun. There was a confirmed tornado about 15 miles south of us, so it was dicey for awhile. Thankfully we didn’t have any damage and Alabama, despite four confirmed tornadoes, had nothing like Mississippi. So very sad. But we got up on Saturday morning determine to do our garden work. So while DH dug up some dead plants, transplanted some live ones, and cleaned out our ‘wild’ area in the back of our house, I put down mulch in our garden beds (50 bags of it). When DH was done in the back, I also laid down new pine straw back there. My back was screaming at the end of the day for sure. But, aside from a couple of areas where we are unsure of whether the plants are alive or where the fiber optic people are going to be digging, that chore is done for the season. Yesterday was housework and errands. Thankfully the weather was great both days.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a Jessica walk and a preemptive 45 minute healthy back yoga routine. Yesterday I was moving very slowly, so I did a restorative spin into a 30 minute spin and Cathe’s Lean Legs and Abs. Today was STS Meso 1 Disc 4/Chest, Shoulders and Biceps, RWH Plyo HiiT One and Core 2 and 20 minutes of yoga.

Thelma, great workouts. It sounds like that storm hit you harder and for longer than us. It was here for about 90 minutes, but the winds weren’t nearly as bad as they were with the storm a couple of weeks ago. I am so glad you didn’t have my significant damage.

Laurie, great workout. I am glad you enjoyed your time in the Dells and didn’t have too much trouble with snow. I saw a photo from somewhere in Wisconsin and it looked pretty bad. Your DD is going to be 30? :o I was philosophizing with DH yesterday about time and how, for us, past a certain age it seems to kind of stand still. I mean the 10 years between 48 and 58 are kind of…whatever. But for a younger person (like my oldest niece), she went from grade school to getting engaged. How did that happen? :):p I hope you have a great time celebrating her birthday.

    See you tomorrow.
