Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 23/Legs, a Tabata spin, STS Stability Ball Abs and 20 minutes of lower body yoga. It is a beautiful day with temperatures near 70, so I finished it off with a nice walk. The sunshine and warmth felt SO good.

Thelma, great workouts. I hope all goes well with your appointment today. I am sorry the hematoma was acting up again, though. Hopefully you start getting more good days than not so good days. Thank you for the recipe recommendations. I don’t think I have ever cooked Saxon rice. I will have to look into that. I think my rut is due to the fact DH went on Nutrisystems again about a month ago, so I am cooking for myself. I find it easy to pair a simple protein and carb with a big fresh garden salad and call it dinner. :) No doubt I could stand to add a little more variety to my meals so that I actually enjoy them. :) I saw the update a new video from Cathe as well. I am looking forward to these workouts more each day for sure.

Laurie, great workout. Your workout made me think about a heavy bag. Have you looked into one yet? I looked and I think I am not going to do it. The footprint is just a little bigger than I expected it to be, and I am kind of in the mindset that I have lasted this long without, so why change? But let me know if you get one, because I would love to hear your thoughts on it. I was wondering if you might be going to Florida for Daytona. That should be so much fun. Like I told Thelma, DH is on Nutrisystems again, so I am cooking for one. Since cooking has never been a hobby I have enjoyed, I am incredibly lazy when it comes to cooking just for me. B)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, Tuesday was a very long and exhausting day, but my appointment went well, and the rheumatologist was happy with my labs. I may even be able to take medication 'vacation' in the summertime.

I managed to get three 1/2-hour walking sessions in, but it was a struggle. I can't believe how exhausted I was.

We hit Publix after my appointment. I had a long list and DH wanted to go to the supermarket while I went to my appointment. I told him we needed to do it together and once we finished with our food shopping, he agreed that I needed to do the shopping myself. LOL
I found an item I needed for a recipe and now I can't find the recipe to save my life!

Laurie, great workout! I'm glad you're getting warmer temps. Do skunks hibernate in the winter?
I'm so glad you'll be visiting your friends that moved to FL and that you'll be going to the Daytona 500 again!

I had no idea about different kosher salts could have less salty than others either.
Are you talking about the yellow Puerto Rican rice with some kind of bean? I used to have a friend many moons ago who made that rice, and it was delicious. I've never made it myself though. It's called arroz with gandules, which are called pigeon peas in English. I just googled it! LOL
Rice is such a big part of Latin American cuisine. I love rice but can't make the fun stuff because DH thinks he'll get fat if he eats rice! So now we only eat brown rice.

Laurel, what a great workout combo! Good job!

I hope I start getting more good days with this hematoma. I can't wait to find out the results of the CT scan next week. I'm still afraid to try yoga again.

I can understand now why you're in a cooking rut.
I don't know if the Puerto Rican rice Laurie is talking about uses Sazon. I highly recommend taking a look at the skinny taste recipes for yourself and they will be good for your DH once he decides to stop the Nytrisystem foods.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was a workout that is newer to the RAW channel. The workout was Hi/Lo Sculpt. I opted for doing some of the hi impact, and some lo. Kelly was doing the workout low impact, and her friend Kat was doing the high. It was a good workout, but I think that the next time I try it, the weighted vest will be put on and I will do all low impact. ;)

Laurel, Nice workouts! Oh those stability ball abs. :s I have always been curious about what I would eat if I didn't have to factor in what DH likes to eat. I know for sure it would be a lot of chicken/turkey, eggs and fish. It has only been recent that DH was okay with eating salmon, so now I try different items on him once in a while. He doesn't like legumes, but I love them. If I make anything with beans, he will try to pick them out. The Goya brand has a lot of different seasonings, and they have some good recipes on their site. I have not purchased the bag/stand yet. Planning on getting it after our vacation. I like this one, and it has good reviews. https://target.com/p/everlast-platinum-nevatear-heavy-bag-kit-with-hanger-off-white-60lbs/-/A-83663524?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df_free_local&CPNG=Sports&adgroup=82-2
I don't need anything special, so this one fits my needs.

Thelma, Sorry to hear that you have been so tired. Glad to hear that all went so well with the rheumatologist, that had to lift your spirits quite a bit. Great job with doing those walks! I did think that skunks hibernated, but apparently they only go into a deep sleep when it is very cold out. Since we had temps in the 40's during the daytime, I'm sure that skunk was really happy to get out and find some food. Yes the pigeon peas, never knew what they where called. I don't know the Asian culture eats a lot of rice, and for the most part they are very slim. :D I love rice!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 24/Back and Biceps, Cardio Kicks and 20 minutes of Pilates. I haven’t done Cardio Kicks in years, and I had so much fun with it today. I also got in a nice walk since it is still warm, though cloudy today.

Thelma, I am sorry the day was so exhausting but I am glad your appointment went well. You make a good point that I should be trying out healthy recipes right now so when DH transitions out of Nutrisystems, I have some more lined up. He is going to be gone quite a bit coming up, so maybe I will use that time to try some recipes. I think I am avoiding cooking in part because he is eating these tiny little meals and I don’t want the whole house smelling good and giving him cravings. :)

Laurie, sounds like a good workout. Thank you SO much for the link to that bag. The stand available to buy with it is much smaller (by 18” :o ) than one is was looking at from Dick’s Sporting Goods. This one I could handle in my room much better. So now I am thinking about it again!! I eat pretty differently when I am not cooking for DH. We aren’t huge meat eaters, but I eat even less when I am cooking for myself. But I also have a tendency to come up with weird combinations of foods that I would never serve anybody but myself. I call them my ‘whatever I grab from the freezer is dinner’ meals. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I woke up full of energy today. What a difference a day makes!
My workouts on Wednesday were Walking Outdoors, Gina B's 3000 Steps and Tracy Steen No Repeat Legs and Abs. I had to modify the ab portion of Tracy's workout. She did a thread the needle stretch at the end and that is not good for the hematoma. It bothered me when I went to the yoga class too. Bummer!

Wednesday started a little rainy but it warmed up into the low 60's.

Laurie, great workout! That bag stand is nice!!
Too bad your DH doesn't like legumes! It's kind of weird to be eating a different meal than DH at dinner time these days, but I definitely want to incorporate more vegetarian dishes into my diet.

My rheumatology visit really lifted my spirits. I love that woman. She is so kind and caring.
Interesting that skunks go into a deep sleep when it's cold. I am sure they must be very hungry when they wake up.
I had no idea gandules were called pigeon peas in English either. It's been decades since I last ate that rice, so I can't remember what the beans taste or look like. I love rice too. Asians eat a lot of rice, but they also eat a lot of vegetables. I doubt they eat a lot of fried stuff.

Laurel, great workouts! I'm glad you enjoyed the cardio kicks workout so much!

Good idea to try the new recipes while your DH is out of town. It occurred to me that maybe you should try finding the equivalent of your DH's Nutrisystem meals in the skinny taste website and make those. People use Gina's recipes to lose weight. The website is connected to Weight Watchers. I know that people always ask what the WW points are, but I had never looked for the points until last night. There is a button on the recipes that takes you to the WW website, but you must be a member. She does give you nutritional values. Clearly Nutrisystem is about portion control, so he will need to stick to smaller portions of whatever he eats after that diet. Maybe you'll have to measure his portions. Whenever I was dieting DH would always weigh my raw meat portions before cooking or freezing to make sure I was eating the right amount of meat. DH is in charge of cutting raw meats. I can't stand handling raw meat with my hands. It's weird because I used to do it.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was RAW Box & Barre. I'm not a big fan of barre work, so this one is always fun to do when I know that I should get something in. I like the fact that the punching works the core. I used my 2# egg weights, and had ankle weights on for the barre work.

Laurel, Great job on the workouts! I also have not done Cardio Kicks in a long time. If I would try it again, I probably would have to take it down to low impact. :D I'm glad that I could help you with the bag, and possibly spending your money. :D I know that I couldn't do anything with a really wide base either. I was happy to see that it had good reviews, and wasn't very expensive. I know that I won't be using it for kicking so didn't need the super heavy bag. Probably will have to put a weight on the bottom, because the bag will move when it's punched. Kelly has one that is similar, and hers moves if she doesn't have a weight tied to the bottom of the bag.

Thelma, Love the workouts! It has to be a bit frustrating not being able to do everything in the workouts. It is all about the portion control for sure. I did see that she always includes the WW points. I have never used their system, but I know someone who goes to the meetings. She has lost a lot of weight since she started. No sweets for her, so I know that I would have a hard time with that. :D Sometimes I just need to have something. ;)

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a tough but doable HiiT and Hills spin followed by Cathe’s live class from last week which was Core Flow Express. What a great workout that was. It was kind of a yoga/Pilates/core fusion. At 27 minutes, it’s a great add-on to my spin days for sure.

Thelma, I am glad you got your energy back! I am sorry about the hematoma is still bothering you, though. DH has a serious problem with portion control and he knows it. That is why he opts for Nutrisystems when he diets. I cook pretty healthy and don’t give him huge portions for dinner, so there is really very little I can do to help him because I am not there when he is eating lunch or snacking during the day at work. Thankfully he is aware this is all on him to figure out, but I try to be as supportive as I can. He seems very committed right now, and that makes me happy. But I am definitely going to look up some new recipes, and I like the idea of trying to duplicate some of the meals he is eating right now. There are times when I think I would prefer his dinner to mine because some of their meals do look good. :)

Laurie, sounds like a great workout. I think I might start liking barre if it included more boxing. :D Thank you for the suggestion of putting a weight on the bottom of the bag to keep it from moving. I was wondering about that. I will only be using it for punching as well, so I am not too worried about it moving around a whole lot. I was surprised I got through all of the impact on Cardio Kicks! I think I shy away from it because it always seemed so high impact, but it really is pretty modifiable. It is so dated, but also so much fun.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Tracy Steen No Jumping, All Standing Cardio HIIT, Walking Outdoors and Tracy Steen Sexy Arms Fast Blast. The cardio workout was a sweatfest and it is the most strenuous workout I've done since my surgery. The hematoma didn't bother me during the workout, but it started throbbing a couple of hours later. It wasn't bad at all though. It seems that what really bothers me are twisting motions like tread the needle. I do feel like I had a bit of a breakthrough moment by being able to do Tracy's cardio workout.

It's been four weeks since I had my surgery. I can't believe it's only been four weeks! It sure feels longer than that. I go for a CT Scan on Monday.

Laurie, sounds like a great workout! Good job!

It really is frustrating not being able to do everything in a workout.
WW is a good diet. I did it years ago and it did help. I do like sweets too and I am not going to give them up completely.

I don't know when you're leaving for FL, but just in case let me wish you a wonderful vacation!

Laurel, great workouts! Good job! I read that Cathe will be back doing the live workouts either next week or the week after.

Portion control is key to any diet. Your DH would have to pack all the food he eats at work to be able to stick to the right portions and foods.
I am sure he appreciates how supportive you are of him and his diets. Every time I find a recipe that I think we would like I save the link in a draft email. The list list is pretty long now! LOL

I really think you'll be able to find some pretty tasty recipes that both and your DH will love. Another website i like is Laughing Spatula
    https://laughingspatula.com/

    Have a wonderful weekend ladies!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Fit Tower Total Body, Step Moves, STS Yoga-based Abs and 10 minutes of yoga focused on the lower body. I think I have only done that Fit Tower workout 2 or 3 times because I find all of the equipment changes and bar changes and such a little irritating, but it felt like a really good workout today. I think if I did it more often and was more familiar with what is coming up, I might actually learn to enjoy the workout.

Thelma, great workouts! I bet it felt good to push yourself a bit more. I am sorry the hematoma let you know about that later on, but I am glad it wasn’t too bad. I hope your CT scan on Monday gives you some answers. Thank you for the Laughing Spatula link. That looks like a great site. I will be honest….I am not quite sure my DH will ever be able to master portion sizes. I know that sounds bad, but he seems to think he is still a teenager playing football and not a 57 yo man with a sedentary job. B) But at least he has been consistently active for a few years now, which helps. And maybe I can help him maintain his weight better this time than I did the last time he was on Nutrisystems, which was right before we moved to Alaska. There was just too much going on then. :)

Laurie, I hope you have a wonderful vacation.

    Enjoy the weekend!!

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was busy with house chores and spa weekend for the dogs and cats.

We got a lot of rain from Saturday night into Sunday afternoon. It was also a pretty windy and cold Sunday.

I think the hematoma has finally started to go down in size! Early last week I felt that it was the same size but on Friday all of a sudden it felt smaller. I can't wait to hear what the CT scan says about its size.

My workouts on Friday were two walking sessions.
Saturday - Walking and Jessica Smith Power Walking workout.
Sunday - walking and Tracy Steen Full Body Strength. I've graduated to 3 lb dumbbells and I hope to go up to 5 lb dumbbells next week.

Laurel, great workouts! I also find the Fit Tower workouts irritating because of the bar changes. I don't think I could ever learn to like those workouts.

The only way your DH would learn about portion control is by cooking and plating his own measured meals. Thank goodness he is staying active!
I think it would be very helpful for you to find out what his allowed caloric daily intake is and the portion allocation for the different food groups.
When I diet, I make sure that what goes on plate is portioned per the diet. If I have rice, I make sure I use a measuring cup for my serving. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to support him better this time around.

    Have a great week!

Hi Ladies. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was good. It rained all day on Saturday and we woke up to snow yesterday. But today is gorgeous and 60 degrees. Thankfully we got walks in both days. We also spent the weekend on chores and errands. Not much fun but productive.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a Jessica Smith power walk and yoga. Yesterday was STS Disc 34/Chest and Back, a spin and STS Weights and Plates Abs. Today was STS Disc 35/Plyo Legs and Cathe Live Hi-Lo Cardio and Core.

Thelma, great workouts. Yay for the increase in weights! I bet that feels good. I am glad your hematoma is feeling better. I hope you get some great news from your CT Scan today. DH and I have discussed his calorie allowance and portioning. But even on this diet, he looks at his calories as what he can eat each day, and doesn’t really consider whether he is hungry. It’s just the way he is wired. That being said, I think his growing concern about becoming diabetic (like his father and older brother) is driving him right now, so maybe he will change his wiring. I just want him healthy and I am glad he is focusing on that right now. But he is also the kind of person who pushes back when pushed (not literally!), so I have to walk a thin line and make sure my support doesn’t come across as nagging. :D

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Monday were 2 walking sessions and Tracy Steen Lower Body by Muscle Group with Cardio. The lower body workout was a killer, and I was only using 3lb weights. My legs and behind were on fire. Tracy divided the workout into 4 circuits/muscle groups. Each circuit had 3 lower body exercises and 1 cardio segment. Each exercise was done for 45 seconds, and each circuit was repeated 3 times. It was a killer!

I had the CT scan done but don't know the results yet. My patient portal shows the CT scan results as pending until maybe the 17th.

I tried some floor yoga poses today and it just didn't feel right because of the hematomas. I will keep trying every day to see if it's a matter of my body getting used to those poses again.

Monday started very cold, but it warmed up into the low 60s.

Laurel, I'm glad you had a nice weekend. I can't believe you got snow on Sunday! We didn't get any, but it got very cold.
    Great workouts!

It really felt good to be able to use heavier weights.

I am glad you and your DH have discussed his calory allowance and portions. I understand exactly what you're saying about him eating his daily caloric allowance whether he is hungry or not because I've been there myself. It sounds like you're doing exactly what he needs from you by providing the right level of support. I think it will be nice to surprise him with new dishes that are flavorful and healthy once he is off his Nutrisystem diet.
I don't blame him for being concerned about becoming diabetic. It's great that he is doing everything he can to stay healthy!

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a fun 30 minute spin, STS Disc 36/Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps and 20 minutes of core focused yoga. It is sunny and warm right now, so I also went for a nice walk. The weather is supposed to change tonight with wind advisories and strong storm possibilities over the next few days. This winter seems to be repeating itself weekly.

Thelma, great workouts. I love the sound of that circuit workout. Those types of workouts always seem to fly despite how tough they are. Great job! Hopefully you get some good news from the scan. Your follow-up appointment is coming up as well, right? It could be your body is out of practice with some yoga moves, but I would still shy away from anything that bothers that hematoma too much for awhile. Hopefully that ‘awhile’ is next week!

Thank you for your support with how I am handling my DHs diet. I hate the idea of pestering him about everything he does. It just isn’t how we communicate. But, at the same time, sometimes I think he needs a little intervention. It is just a matter of figuring out those times properly. I am a person who has never minded being hungry, and it took me a good long time to realize that more people than not literally cannot bear being hungry. That was a huge mind shift for me when it comes to my DH and his eating habits. Whereas I can literally wait for hours from my first hunger pangs until I eat, he cannot. So my approach to eating doesn’t work for him at all which makes it kind of interesting sometimes. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Walking, Gina B's 3000 Steps and Tracy Steen Sculpting Arm Workout with Cardio. This arm workout's format was similar to yesterday's leg workout. There were 4 circuits with 3 arm exercises and one cardio segment repeated 3 times.

Laurel, great workout combo! Sounds like we're going to have similar weather the next few days!

Tracy puts out a weekly workout program and I am loving this week's workouts.

I hope I get good news from the CT scan too. My 6 week follow up appointment is on Monday afternoon. Hopefully the doctor will have the CT scan results by then.

I think you're right about my body being out of practice with some yoga moves now. In the beginning though the hematoma was the issue. Now I need to keep doing planks.

Guys don't like to be pestered about things, but I swear they like to be pestered sometimes! LOL
I don't think I allow myself to feel hunger pains. When I worked, I had three meals a day. Now I have two meals and two snacks. I just don't get hungry until 11 AM or 12PM. Dinner has to be eaten at 5:30PM though because DH is hungry by then.

I hope you'll try a few skinny taste recipes while your DH is traveling. Just remember to taste the food to make sure it's seasoned to your liking. Sometimes I end up adding more seasonings to a recipe.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 40/Squat Rack Legs and Kick, Punch and Crunch. Today was my last STS workout in this rotation. :) I can’t believe 12 weeks have passed by this quickly. I’ve decided to continue doing STS workouts until closer to when STS comes out because I really want to take the strength I have gained into that program. But instead of doing a standard rotation, I am going to do a random rotation. We’ll see how this goes, but I am literally going to pull my week’s workouts out of a cup.

Thelma, great workouts. Sounds like you are getting stronger every day. Hopefully you get an all-clear on Monday to start doing even more. Our weather sounds like it may be dicey tomorrow…and then the temperature is going to drop from the 70s into the 30s. Those temperature drops concern me because that can mean some nasty stuff as the front pushes through. But we’ll see. I eat a bugger meal at breakfast (at 6:30am) and dinner but lunch, when I eat it, is very light. I rarely if ever snack and only do when I am too hungry to make it to dinner. DH goes light on breakfast, but can do both a big lunch and dinner with snacks in between. And I think the problem is his lunches and then me serving him a decent sized dinner because that is what I need. Sadly, I would prefer he eat the dinners I fix because they are healthy and his lunches are often fast food. :# So there is a lot of adjusting that we need to do for sure.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Walking Outdoors and Tracy Steen No Repeat Cardio & Strength HIIT Workout. Tracy's workout was another sweat fest. She called this circuit format LUCCA, Lower, Upper, Cardio-High Impact, Cardio-Low Impact, Abs. I lost count of the circuits, but it felt like there were 10 circuits because it was a 50-minute workout. Each exercise was done for 45 seconds with a 10 second break in between. There was a 30 second break between circuits.
I did better with the planks this time around. I couldn't do the exercises on the back where legs are extended parallel to the floor though. Those really pulled my right side where the hematoma is. I did modify those.

We had a drizzly Wednesday, and it wasn't windy at all. Temps overnight will stay in the low 50's. Thunderstorms are predicted for Thursday afternoon though.

Laurel, congrats on finishing your 12-week STS rotation!! I think it's a great idea to continue with the STS workouts for a while longer. I can't wait for Cathe to send us our STS 2.0 program. It looks really good.

I am definitely getting stronger. I also hope the doctor will clear me to start lift as heavier weight. I can see increasing my weight load gradually. o definitely can tell that I've lost the shoulder strength I had gained though.

I hope your weather doesn't turn as bad as predicted. Our temps won't do the big drop until Friday night.

You get up so early! I stopped getting up early after I retired. I also go to bed really late though. I just can't eat as soon as I get up.
I made a breakfast casserole recipe on Wednesday that turned out delicious. The recipe called for baking the eggs. I made it on the stove top. The recipe also called for lots of whole eggs. I used 1 whole egg and 3 cups of egg whites. I seasoned the eggs with onion powder, pepper and a little salt. I sautéed in avocado oil diced onions, green pepper and grape tomatoes, I then added the eggs, feta cheese and lots of baby spinach. I scrambled the eggs. It was delish! I had a little bit of the eggs with 1/2 an avocado for brunch. For dinner I roasted broccoli, butternut squash and onions with a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. The recipe is called Heather's Buddha bowls. It had the roasted veggies, brown rice, avocado and a fried egg. I substituted the fried egg for the egg white casserole I made in the morning. I loved it!

Fast food lunches are killers, unless your DH is sticking with healthy salads. If you don't know what he ate for lunch, it will be hard to know how many calories he has left for dinner. I thought he was eating his Nutrisystem meals at lunch. It would be ideal if he'd ask you to prepare his lunches.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! I decided to do Cathe’s live workout today with her since it was her first one back post-surgery. It was Legs Strength and Stamina, and since I did STS Legs yesterday, I took it light today. But it wasn’t a tough workout and was good metabolic training. It looks like Cathe is healing well, though she mentioned it could be months before she s able to do any weight work. Anyhow, I followed it with a fun spin, yoga and Pilates.

Thelma, great workout! That one sounds like a tough one. They are predicting bad enough storms today that all of the schools are closed. We’ll see if that was a good call or not in a few hours I suppose. I really hope it doesn’t get too bad. Your egg casserole sounds wonderful! I could eat eggs every day. I get up with DH which is why I am up so early. Life post-pandemic is better for that because he used to get up at 5:30am. That was early. Now it is 6:15am, and since it is light here at that time year round, it doesn’t feel early. But I am in bed early. :)

DH isn’t eating fast food now, but it was his eating it that lead to him being on Nutrisystems. When he was working from home, he would have a healthy lunch every day, and I thought he had carried that habit back into the office when he returned to working there full time. Then I noticed we weren’t buying him anything for lunch when grocery shopping and he finally admitted that he was eating out every day. That’s a diet killer and he knows it. But (this will make me sound like a horrible wife) that is one of the reasons I can’t be in control of his diet post-Nutrisystems. We eat mostly healthy meals at home and very rarely eat out (down to about six times a year since 2020), so I already feel like I am doing about as much as I can here at home. But one thing I hope I can help him figure out more than anything is a way to avoid fast food for lunch. That stuff is horrible.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Walking Outdoors, Gina B's 3000 Steps, Latin Dances workout and Tracy Steen Sweaty No Jump Cardio & Standing Ab Workout. I ended up with 17,600 steps! It was not my goal at all but between Tracy and the Latin Dances workout I found I got there. I'm glad I discovered that Tracy has several standing ab workouts. Her workouts always leave my thighs feeling the workout, which I love.

It's raining pretty hard here tonight, and Friday will be cold.

Laurel, great workouts! Good idea to take it light for Cathe's leg workout. I'm so glad she seems to be healing nicely. I saw a picture of her live workout on FB and noticed that she wasn't holding any weights.

The rain started here after 6pm and it's been pretty bad and non-stop. I hope the storms weren't too bad for you.

DH gets up at about 7:30 and feeds the 4-legged babies. I sleep through all that!

I'm so glad your DH is not eating fast food now. I don't think you sound like a bad wife at all. You can't be responsible for someone's diet or someone else's body as much as you'd like to do it. You can only be there to support him. If he doesn't want you to pack his lunch, it will be hard to avoid fast food. There are lots of meal prep containers that are great for work. They are divided into multiple sections and are microwave safe. You can check them out on Amazon. Skinny Taste has recipe key's and one of them is meal prep recipes.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Fast and Furious Upper Body, IMAX 4 and Abs. My muscles were feeling tired today, but it all felt good when the workout was over. :)

Thelma, great workouts and yay for the steps!! I am glad you are enjoying the Tracy workout and feeling them in all the right ways. We didn’t get the storms they predicted, though we had a lot of rain and some winds. But we have had far worse for sure. Now….it’s freezing. Literally. And next week they are predicting temps close to 80! This winter has been such a roller coaster. Thank you for your support on how I’m handling DHs diet situation. Ultimately, I just want him healthy. I hope you get some great news on Monday! I probably won’t be here Monday because it is a holiday for DH.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend!
My workouts on Friday were Gina B 80s Retro Pop Mix, Walking on treadmill and Tracy Steen Hourglass Workout.
Saturday - Walking Outdoors and Aalaya Pilates Hip Strengthening. Amazing hip functionality workout! Mira is the instructor, and she has all kinds of functional pilates workouts. I intend do these workouts weekly because my lower back loved them. My hips had been killing me all day and I was fine after this 40-minute workout.
Sunday - Walking and Tracy Steen Total Body Mini Band Workout.
Monday - Walking Outdoors and Tracy Steen Upper Body Descending Reps.

I had my 6 week follow up on Monday afternoon and I've been cleared to resume my normal life. I will gradually start increasing my weights.
The doctor said everything looked good and that my BRCA tests were negative!

I will return to my yoga classes on Tuesday. Can't wait!

    Laurel, great workouts!

I'm glad you didn't get the storms predicted last week. We got 2.5 inches of rain last Thursday! Friday was insanely windy and cold. We may hit 80 on Thursday. We've had temps in the high 50's and low 60's but it's felt much cooler than that.

I know you want absolutely the best for your DH and want him as healthy as possible. I think between your support and his diabetes awareness he'll be in good shape.

Laurie, I hope you had a wonderful vacation!

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was nice. We spent it on errands and chores, but also a lovely day on the golf course on Sunday. Our weather is turning hot this week, and we may break records both tomorrow and Thursday. What a weird winter this has been.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a walk with Jessica Smith and 45 minutes of yoga focused on the back. Sunday was a 45 minute spin and Cathe’s Legs and Glutes workout from her Body Blast series. Yesterday I started my random STS rotation with STS Disc 31/Chest and Back, and I followed it with Perfect 30 Low Impact HiiT and Pyramid Bonus. Today was STS Disc 20/Legs and a 45 minute spin.

Thelma, great workouts, I love the sound of that hip workout. Great news from the doctor!! Does this mean all is well with the hematoma? Sure sounds like it. We were definitely chilly on Friday and Saturday, but now it is warming up nicely and will blast right through ‘nicely’ straight into hot. I am just glad we had a ton of rain before this little heatwave showed up or I would be pretty worried about the shock our poor little budding plants are going through. All of our outdoor plants took such a hit from those cold temperatures right before Christmas that I am a little afraid we may have permanently lost a few (or more than a few). But, thankfully, some are showing signs of life. I am hoping the rain from last week and these warmer temperatures will entice them to come back to life.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Yin Yoga, Walking Outdoors and Tracy Steen INNER and OUTER Thigh Workout.
Yoga was great. I was fine except for one twist.
I did the leg workout with weights for the first time in 6 weeks. It felt great and it was a sweat fest! My thighs were crying for mercy. I don't remember how many circuits there were, but each circuit had 4 thigh and one cardio exercises. Each set was repeated three times and each exercise was done for 45 seconds with a 10 second break.

I don't know how warm it got here but it was warm. I was able to be outside without a fleece jacket. Wednesday should be even warmer!

I think the fibroids were sucking the life out of me. All of a sudden, I'm having energetic days like I haven't had in God know how long! I am feeling pretty good. I told the doctor that, and she said, the fibroids were probably bothering you more than I'll ever know.

Laurel, I'm glad you had a nice weekend and made time for golf too! Great workouts!

This is the hip Pilates workout I did. The instructor's name is Mira, and she is in two channels, Aalaya Pilates and Flow with Mira.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4WGevxmTl8&t=11s

I hope your plants didn't die during the cold winter days! I think my plants did die though because nothing is showing signs of life.

I don't think we are going to warm up as much as you will, but all of a sudden, I am not ready for hot temps!

The doctor said that the hematoma is probably going to go down at a slower pace now. Not what I wanted to hear, but I'm OK with that now that the hematoma hardly bothers me anymore.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 33/Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps, Cathe Live Cardio Kickboxing and Cardio Barre and 20 minutes of hip focused yoga. It is 75 degrees here, so I added on a nice long all outside. Tomorrow will be even warmer and without the wind advisory we have today, though the wind isn’t too bad right now.

Thelma, great workouts! I am so glad to hear about your energy levels. No doubt you will spring right back to your fitness level pre-surgery in no time. I am really happy to hear the hematoma isn’t bothering you anymore. Thank you for the link to that workout. I am going to give it a try. I love hip focused workouts. I don’t know if you still have the Peloton app, but they added a few yin yoga classes. I was happy to see those this morning (and they are with instructors I enjoy….Aditi and Dennis) so I look forward to trying those. I don’t remember seeing any yin classes on the app before. I really hope your outdoor plants didn’t die. But all of ours that are supposed to stay green year round didn’t this year, and that has me concerned. But there were too many to even try to cover this winter. I don’t even want to think about the work that will go into replacing them if it comes to that.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Walking Outdoors, Gentle Flow Yoga and Tracy Steen Multi Format Mashup Total Body Bootcamp. Tracy's workout was another sweat fest.
Today was a struggle and had to take a little nap in the afternoon. I was dragging the entire day and I tried really hard to talk myself out doing Tracy's workout because I knew it was a challenging workout. I decided to push myself and did it. I felt great after that tough workout. I also did well in my yoga class. The only pose that bothered the hematoma was the bananasana pose (banana) when I did the right side. I think the hematoma has gotten smaller since the CT scan.

We hit 75 degrees on Wednesday. It's been also pretty windy. Thursday will be in the high 60's and rainy. Thursday will also be the 6th week since my surgery. It feels like it happened a long time ago.

I'm going to be 59 on Saturday and I feel great physically. I am feeling pretty fit, which is such a good feeling. I really think Tracy's workouts are helping me a lot. She is tough.
    I can't believe I'll be 60 next year though!

We've decided to adopt another little dog. He is a 5-year-old, 7+ lb chihuahua. We are going to meet him and hopefully bring him home on Saturday. It's going to be a busy weekend getting the zoo adjusted to a new member. His owner passed away recently, and her sister couldn't keep him. His name is Arnold which I am not crazy about, so we are going to name him Arnie for now.

Laurel, great workouts! Is the Cardio Barre a Peloton workout?

I also think I will spring right back to my fitness level pre-surgery in no time.
I hope you like Mira's Pilates workout. I love hip focused workouts too.
I still have the Peloton app. I'll have to check out the Yin classes! I really like Aditi. Is Dennis the older guy? I don't think they had Yin classes before.

I took a look at our perennial plants and only two of the same plant show signs of life. Even my hydrangeas look dead. I hope your plants aren't dead, but I understand your concern for those plants that were supposed to stay green year-round. I think the only plants I would replace would be the hydrangea and the butterfly bushes.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Just getting on to let you know that we made it home on Tuesday, just before the nasty snow that we had yesterday. Very busy at work, so I don't have a ton of time to chat. The weather while we where in FL was beautiful. It was in the 70's and 80's with a nice breeze. The race was great, we had 4 flyovers from the all female war birds. So cool. This vacation was probably the best one that we have ever had. Spent most of the time reading and relaxing by the pool. The only thing we did Disney wise was Universal Studios and some shopping. The Star Wars area was awesome.

I really didn't do a lot of workouts while on vacation, just walking. Yesterday my workout was LiTe Strong Body Stacked Sets Upper and this morning was LiTe Rev'd Up Rumble.

I have to get going, still a lot of things to get through here at work.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a super fun 60 minute spin. I have to applaud any instructor who has me smiling for the last five minutes of a 60 minute spin, but that’s what happened today. So good. I followed it with 40 minutes of Pilates courtesy of Thelma. Really good workout. We reached 81 degrees yesterday with a low of 66 last night…..both records (by four degrees each). I am not sure we will beat the record today which is 83, but I just came back from a walk wearing capri leggings and a cap sleeved shirt, and I was hot! Not sure I am quite ready for that yet, but it did feel good today.

Thelma, great workouts despite feeling tired. Thank you for posting that workout yesterday. It was really good. I can’t believe you are getting a new dog!! He is going to be a lucky little guy because you take such good care of your animals. I hope the integration with all of the other animals goes well. Dennis is the younger Peloton yoga guy (he also teaches spin). Ross is the older guy and bores me to tears. I am looking forward to trying one of these yin classes soon. We have signs of life on our azaleas and these little bushes the builder planted that I have no idea what they are. But everything else is just dead. The ones I know we will replace if they don’t come back are the bushes we had around our AC units. I like those units hidden. B)

Laurie, welcome back!!!! I am so glad to hear your trip went so well. Sounds like a perfect time of relaxation in the Florida sun. I am sure the snow and cold were a bit of an unwelcome shock when you got home. Great workouts upon getting back. Those are two of my favorites.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Thursday were Walking x2 and Tracy Steen Upper Body, Cardio & Abs.

Thursday was a pretty rainy day here. We got over a little over 1/2 inch of rain. The weekend may be a little wet too.

I had my physical today, and everything is OK. January and February have been full of doctors appointments! The nurse practitioner told me that if all her patients took good care of themselves like I do, she wouldn't have any patients! LOL

Laurie, welcome back! Sounds like a wonderful vacation with perfect weather!
    Great workouts!

Laurel, great workouts! I am glad you liked the Pilates workout. I'll have to check the Peloton yoga classes again. I don't know who Dennis is, but I'll search for his classes. Ross is definitely boring!

We had totally different weather for a change! It got pretty warm there! I sure am not ready for hot weather.
I'm so glad your azaleas and the little bushes are showing signs of life. The only plants showing signs of life are my miniature lilacs.
I can understand why you'd want to replace the bushes around your AC units.
I will have to see what I'd like to replace, but definitely my miniature butterfly bush and maybe a hydrangea or two. The plants we kept in the garage are alive though, including my supermarket purchased gardenia! My large ferns are still alive. I think they are 3 years old.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a good one. I did Perfect 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body with Bonus and Core followed by Step Blast. It has been several years since I did the last workout, and, honestly, I wasn’t sure I would be able do it because I remember it being pretty fast with a lot of spins. But I did, and on a 6” step. It was so fun to revisit it because it was my favorite Cathe step workout for several years.

Thelma, great workouts! I can’t believe you had rain yesterday. :o We are a little cooler and cloudy today, but I still went to the grocery store without a coat on. I forgot to answer your question yesterday about the Cardio Barre workout. That was Cathe Live. I wish she did more workouts like it, but it is the only one. I have managed to keep two bougainvillea and a hibiscus alive in the house this winter, as well as my little fern, who is back outside at the moment enjoying the warmer weather. :)

I hope you have a wonderful birthday tomorrow. My sister, who turns 59 tomorrow too, called yesterday and invited me to join her in a sister trip celebrating both of our 60th birthdays sometime late next year (I won’t be 60 until May 2025). I love that she has given me a reason to look forward to my 60th. Celebrate joyfully because you are amazing.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. Our weekend was nice. We got about one inch of rain over the weekend.

My workouts on Friday were yoga and walking.
    Saturday - walking
    Sunday - walking

Laurel, great workouts on Friday! I'm glad you enjoyed that fast step workout!
It really would be nice if Cathe did more Cardio Barre workouts!
I'm glad you were able to keep your bougainvillea and hibiscus plants alive over the winter. I had two hibiscuses in MA.

I had a great birthday. Thanks so much for your bday wishes. We went out to my favorite Cuban restaurant for dinner on Friday and on Saturday we adopted our new doggy Arnie.
What a great idea to go on a sister trip to celebrate your 60th birthdays next year!

    Have a fabulous week!

    Morning Ladies,

We are having pouring rain right now, and it is leaking like crazy in this building. We have a brand new roof on the building, so this has been a real headache. Good thing all of this is covered under warranty. Had a real quiet weekend, did a lot of sewing.

My workout on Friday was LiTe Strong Body Stacked Sets Lower, no other workout for the weekend. This morning was 30MTF Total Body Kickboxing W2, and the Abs from her Kickboxing workout.

Have to get back myself going, just way to much to do yet.
