Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute spin followed by LMR Functional Pilates Fusion and Lower Body Foam Rolling. This was a great combo today despite the fact I still don’t quite understand what Cathe was trying to achieve in those two LMR workouts, but that didn’t matter to me today.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad your scapula is doing better but bicep tendonitis is so very tricky and hard to heal. Mine can flare up with just the smallest little thing. Hopefully the PT will help with that. My hydrangeas are full of leaves and look beautiful but no blooms yet. But they are late bloomers. My butterfly bush that I thought we might have lost this winter on the other hand is covered in blooms. And it’s huge! Such a surprise this year.

Laurie, great workouts. Going to the zoo with your DD and grandsons sounds like a great day out! I haven’t been to a zoo in years. I think you are retiring at a great time of the year since I know for us our summer months tend to keep us much busier than winter months with things around the house. By winter, you will no doubt be looking forward to sewing days though!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking, yoga, jumping and balancing. The short jumping workout left me winded, but I did it.

It was definitely warm around here on Tuesday and it will continue to be warm till Friday. Things look raining from Saturday into next week. It's been pretty hazy here, but I think that's from the Canadian fires.

Laurie, great workouts! I can't wait to find out what heavy load workouts you chose for your next rotation. I feel like I'm in limbo right now because of my shoulder. At least this PT says I can do overhead shoulder presses.
How fun that you get to go to the zoo with your DD and her babies!

My Peonies looked bigger than last year to me. I have two hydrangeas that grow on old wood and on new. My miniature Lilacs are blooming now too.

    Laurel, great workouts!
I hope my PT can help with the tendonitis. I worked really hard on my posture today and the tendonitis is hardly noticeable but yesterday was totally irritated.
One of our butterfly bushes is blooming now too. It needs a major haircut. It's a massive mess, but we can't trim it while it's blooming.

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,.

Rainy day here this morning, so any outdoor work will have to wait until after the rain stops.

DH's 65th birthday is today. He is getting ready to go out to breakfast with the guys.

Workouts this morning where yoga and then we did PJ's Full Body All Standing Strength Workout.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Glad to hear that the LMR workouts where really good this time around. I still have not tried any of those workouts, but they are on my bucket list. This first week we have been doing some cleaning that neither of us tend to enjoy. I like that we are taking small chunks at a time, kind of like doing our yard work also. Yesterday we cleaned out the fridge, never a fun time. 😉 The best part so far is that I have already started my tan. I'm getting some sewing done, but I'm sure that winter the sewing time will increase.

Thelma, Love the workouts! I did some jumping the other day in our cardio workout, and my knees where okay. I will probably try some more in the next workouts. I love the smell of lilacs. We have two of the bushes, so they only average about waist height. They will bloom twice a year. It's a shame that we can't grow those butterfly bushes around here, they are so pretty.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LMR Functional Barre Fusion and 30 minutes of yoga. Today felt like a recovery day, which was actually kind of nice.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you were able to do some jumping. I will get back to jumping again after this Peloton spin program I am doing, but I have to admit I don’t miss it at all at the moment. But I know it is necessary to do at this age. Form is key for me and my bicep tendonitis for sure. Where I have my arm in relation to my body and my wrist angle make all of the difference in the world on how it feels. I think that is why I am enjoying 2.0 so much because the slower pace really allows me to focus on form.

Laurie, great workouts. And Happy Birthday to your DH! No doubt you will enjoy being able to be outside more than when you were working. Sunshine and fresh air are so good for the soul. I hear you and cleaning out the refrigerator. We finally caved and bought a new one last week since our not-so-old one was breaking right and left. It still worked, but it was little things that kept breaking and it was pretty annoying. So I got to clean out the fridge last week since I had to out everything in coolers for 24 hours. That was fun. 😜

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workouts were walking and chest/PT. I started working on my strength at PT. It was a full workout. My arms were fried after from all the posture exercises and chest and shoulder exercises. It turns out that what I thought was a bicep issue is more of a pec issue, so the PT worked on my pecs. He had to dig around my armpit to hit the pecs minor and major and did some cupping. It's a weakness that stems from my bicep repair surgery because the surgeon went in through my armpit. I don't have scar tissue, which is great. I worked hard at making sure I didn't have scar tissue. Walking/sitting straight is starting to become a good habit. I did 50 inclined pushups too. 3 and 4# dumbbells felt super heavy.
At first this PT wasn't sure what kind of exercises I'd be able to do because he didn't know me. Now he's throwing everything at me because "I'm tough". LOL

I've had huge week of health discoveries and improvements. I'm happy with the progress I've made. I discovered that the GERD meds I've been taking for 15 years prevent the absorption of calcium. I have osteopenia, so the calcium I've been taking probably wasn't absorbed. I found a $10 supplement that cured my GERD with the first dose. Amazing! I also discovered that the bone preventing med I've been taking shouldn't be taken long term because it has the opposite effect. I've been on it almost five years! I made the executive decision of stopping it. For the first time I feel that the rheumatologist I love has let me down. I feel that she should've been running more tests such as bone loss/making markers, not just a DEXA scan. I see her in October again.

Anyway, life is good and I'm on the path to recovery for my shoulders, back, pecs. My GERD is gone. Now I'm trying to figure out a plan of attack to prevent more bone loss. Hopefully, now that my body is absorbing the calcium I take, there would be some bone restoration.

We got some unexpected rain this afternoon. Everything that needed to be watered, got watered!

This is the jumping workout I did. This lady says that 50 jumps a day 3 times a week strengthens bones and reduces the risk of fracture. She is landing with her knees bent, but Dr. Stacy Sims says that you have to land with straight legs, I was landing with straight legs. I felt that this was a good beginners' workout though.
    https://youtu.be/-VdsZfiJPg4?si=09T0RPFBHmNz61cW

I also followed these guys jump recommendations for some extra jumping.
    https://youtu.be/IdXDaLTEwSU?si=hC61oDK7LVUQiihs

Laurie, great workouts! Great job teaming up to tackle all those tasks that have to get done around the house! Cleaning the refrigerator is not fun, but it's easier when you have an assistant! LOL
    Happy birthday to your DH!

Laurel, great workouts for a recovery day!
The jumping we need for our bones doesn't have to be a long and exhausting workout. Try that little workout above.
Form is definitely everything and the issue I was having with the internal rotation was messing up my form. The PT says I have full rotation/mobility now, It was driving me insane to see that my right forearm was leaning forward instead of pointing straight up. It's required a lot of work on my part and I think I'm almost there. Any type of press was being affected by that internal rotation issue.
I'm glad you're enjoying the 2.0 workouts and your Peloton bike so much!

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin, 10 minutes of Peloton core and 2.0 Chair Yoga. I was not looking forward to the chair yoga workout, but it wasn’t too bad today (though I still don’t think it is a very effective workout 😎).

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad your PT is going well. It sure sounds like you are gaining strength and mobility. It makes sense that the issue is your pec if that is where you had surgery. I am sorry about the bone density and medication issues. I know this will sound strange but given how adaptable the human body is, I am surprised when doctors prescribe medications for sometimes decades on end. I just can’t imagine it has the same benefits in year 10 as it did year 1. But I am no doctor for sure!! But I am glad you discovered the issues and you are feeling better. Hopefully when you see your rheumatologist in October you can get some more answers. Thank you for the video links! Those look pretty doable.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking, CG Glutes and shoulder mobility.

    We hit 85 degrees today!

Laurel, great workouts! The chair workout is not going to be very effective for us, but it may be for older adults or people recovering from an injury.

I think I've taken most of the meds available for GERD over the years, but the meds I take for lupus and RA are definitely long term meds. Hopefully, I'm still on time to reverse some of the bone loss.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was 2.0 Giant Sets Total Body, a 30 minute spin and Peloton yoga.

Thelma, great workouts. We have been between 85-90 all week with really high humidity. We may get storms this weekend which won’t help the humidity level for sure. But I wouldn’t mind getting some rain again. I hope you can reverse some of the bone loss as well. No doubt your fitness level and routine will help.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a nice weekend!

Our area was hit with a violent thunderstorm. Thousands of people all over northwest and north central GA are without power. The storm downed trees all over the place. They landed over the power lines breaking the light poles in half! There were 4500 people without power in BR this morning.
Thank God the storm wasn't that bad where we live, and we have power. We think Friday's storm was worse.
Monday afternoon could be another violent storm situation.

My workouts on Friday were walking and yoga.
    Saturday - walking,
Sunday - walking and CG EPIC Heat Day 2 - Shoulders.

I did the full shoulder workout with 3lb dumbbells. At times the weakness kicked in, but I pushed though. This was an excellent workout.
I hadn't tried any of the EPIC Heat workouts and I think I'm going to do this rotation. She does have an entire burpee workout that I may have to skip or modify. Every 5th workout is a Hiit workout. She does calisthenics, tabata, and plyo workouts in this program. It lasts 10 weeks.

    Laurel, great workout!
I hope you guys weren't hit with violent storms.

Laurel, the jumping has to be done on a hard floor and barefoot! Athletic shoes are designed to absorb shock, so no shoes if you want to shock your skeleton.

I finally found someone who talked about the type of floor to jump on and what kind of shoes to wear. I figured the floor had to be super hard and the shoes I wear are my zero drop shoes, but now I know to go barefoot. A beginner jumper has to start wearing shoes. I'm going to keep using my o drop shoes until I feel safe jumping.

    Have a great week!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was pretty good minus the horrible storm on Saturday. What Thelma described is what happened here. The only two roads up our little hill were both closed due to down trees. And the mid section of our hill saw dozens of trees down on power lines. We were without power for 15 hours, but, thankfully, we had enough fuel for our generators to keep the food in the freezers and fridge safe. Yesterday was a calmer day, but more storms are predicted this afternoon. The rain is still welcome. The rest of it though can go away now.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a walk with Jessica Smith and Cathe Live Long and Strong Mobility. Yesterday (after a very hot and sleepless night) I did a 45 minute spin and 20 minutes of yoga. Today was 2.0 Trisets Total Body and yoga.

Thelma, great workouts. And great job with the shoulder weights. It sounds like you are improving. The new rotation sounds good. I am glad you didn’t get any damage where you were at. DH and I walked down to where all of the trees came down that took out the power lines, and I haven’t seen anything quite like it. There was about a 1/4 stretch where a line of trees came down over the road and power lines. I actually understand now why it took them 15 hours to get everything cleaned up. The trees are still there blocking DH’s and my favorite walking path, but that is the least of the problems for sure. Just sad to see so many live trees down like that.

    See you tomorrow.

    Hello Ladies,

I went to the zoo with my oldest dd and the boys on Thursday. It was a very nice day. We did have the smoke from the fires in Canada. That has been hanging around for a while now. Even this morning there is a haze. I'm still getting used to being off, and of course when to post. Sometimes I get so busy that I forget. Sorry about that.

I have been very religious about the yoga, and DH and I did PJ's workouts. On Thursday we did a Low Impact cardio workout, Friday was working outside, Saturday was a Full Body Workout, Sunday was again outdoor work. This morning was PJ's Low Impact Tabata Workout.

Laurel, Great job with all the workouts! Nice that you have a nice new refrigerator, but dang on having to get a new one. I do like that our chores are done during the week, so our weekends are free. It always seemed that I was doing chores on the weekends, or they where getting neglected to much. OMG about the storms, and glad to hear that your generator worked. Having your refrigerator and freezer functioning is so important. Sorry the sleeping wasn't the best with all that heat and humidity.

Thelma, Awesome job with all the workouts! Glad that you and your PT where able to find the exact problem. How crazy that it was a pec issue and not bicep. Glad to hear that you where not affected by the storms. I have been going barefoot for the majority of my workouts. I had read that it helps with people who have knee problems. I only wear shoes when I'm outside.

We just had a female cardinal pecking at our window. I'm thinking that she probably saw her reflection in the window. Her mate was in the tree by the window. I have seen them around our house the last few days, so they must have a nest.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! We were hit with another thunderstorm system. It lasted a short time, but it started out pretty violently.

Monday's workouts were walking and CG Epic Heat Day 1 - Legs. This was a great workout. It looks like this program is lower body heavy.

Laurel, great workouts! I'm sorry your neighborhood was hit hard by Saturday's storm. It really sad to see all those live tried get
Thank goodness you had enough fuel for your generators.

Laurie, great workouts! I haven't gotten around to working out barefoot, but the zero drop shoes are pretty close to being barefoot.

I'm so glad you got to go to the zoo with your DD and grand babies!
It really is crazy that what I thought was my bicep is actually part of the pec muscles. The issue is definitely due to poor posture and hunching forward. Once I correct my posture with my posture correction exercises, I'm OK. The biggest complaint I have now is shoulder weakness. Hopefully, I'll be able to gain strength and overcome that weakness.

The cardinal must've seen her reflection. Too bad you can't see the nest from your window!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a tough 30 minute spin, 10 minutes of Peloton core and 30 minutes of Peloton yoga.

Laurie, great job with the workouts. I think I am slowly becoming addicted to my yoga workouts. That is not something I ever thought I would say! But they really soothe both mind and body. I am glad you enjoyed the trip to the zoo, but I am sorry about your air quality. Hopefully it improves soon. Enjoy your cardinals! I love those birds. I hope if they are nesting near you that you get a little peak of their babies.

Thelma, great workout. I am sorry about the storm though. We had just a short one yesterday, which was just fine with me. Based on Cathe, it took her a long time to get her shoulder strength back so I suppose patience is key. But, no doubt, it must be frustrating.

    See you tomorrow.

    Hello Ladies,

I did my yoga and our workout with PJ was a Chest & Back workout. This one was done in a ladder format, so she started out at 45 sec and took 5 sec off each round. We did a total of 6 rounds.

The female cardinal was looking in the window again. 😉

Thelma, Great job with the workouts! I do want to get myself a pair of those shoes also. Just haven't really looked at all the ones available yet. I'm sure that you will be gaining strength and get that shoulder back into action. Like Laurel indicated that Cathe's took quite a while to get the strength back. It is of course hard to wait for results.

Laurel, Awesome workouts! Interesting how the yoga has become a thing for all of us. It is the first thing that I do in the morning's. I also can't believe how much I have been enjoying them. DH was just at the doctors today, and the doc was very glad that he has been working out.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were Yin, Gina B low impact cardio and jumping.
I have leg and glute DOMS from the leg workout on Monday!

Laurel, great workouts! I'm so glad you're enjoying your yoga workouts again.

It is a little frustrating to have to restart the shoulder strengthening part all over again, but at least I am in a better and safer place now. I obviously needed a lesson in patience! LOL

Great workouts Laurie! I'm glad you're still enjoying PJ's workouts. I really like my cheap zero drop shoes from Amazon.

I wish I didn't have to restart all over again with my shoulder, but at least I know now that I am at a better place with my shoulders.

The cardinal is just making sure she looks beautiful! If you see her babies, take pictures!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LMR Functional Total Body and the bonus Anytime Mobility workout, plus 10 minutes of Peloton core. I am finding with these LMR workouts that the right weight is key. The more familiar I am getting with this particular workout, the more I enjoy it.

Thelma, great workouts. I am with you on needing a lesson in patience! It has never been my strength for sure. I would imagine, though, that your progress this time may be quicker since you have worked some things out with your shoulder.

Laurie, great workouts. I was thinking today during my workout how much better my body feels since I have incorporated more yoga and lessened the cardio workouts. I should have done this years ago! But, seriously, I am most amazed at how much I am enjoying my workouts again. I really had lost a lot of the joy they had brought to be over the years, and I feel like that is back. I have a bird who will come sit on my door wreath, look into the glass and just sing and sing. I think it like how it looks and the sound of its song in a closed space. Makes me smile.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workouts were walking and shoulders, triceps, lats. PT was basically a proper upper body workout. I did everything he threw at me. I did the exercises with tubbing and resistance bands. When I was done, he told me that he could confidently tell me that I was stronger than most. That made my day. LOL I burned 190 calories during PT. The guy had me grunting. I have three more PT sessions left. I was exhausted after that workout, and I loved it.

I don't know what our high temp was today, but it was HOT!!

Laurel, great workouts! I love how much you're enjoying yoga and that you've found the way to enjoy the LMR workouts!

This time around my shoulder just needed some posture correction and the scapula work. I used to be hyperfocused on my scapula, but now, I'm the opposite.

I love that you have that little bird come to your door!

    See you tomorrow!

    Morning Ladies,

Sorry about yesterday, it was just a busy day. I was getting some deep cleaning done on the cabinets and then had to get out for grocery's. We have way to many cabinets in this house. 😀 No deep clean today.

Got in my yoga both days, and our Thursday workout was PJ's Lower Body workout. This morning was a PJ stretch. I sure do wish that DH would do some yoga, he is not flexible at all.

No Cardinal sighting lately, but a hummingbird was in that same window yesterday. 😊 It must be that time of the day that the sun gives a good reflection.

Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Glad that you are getting such a wonderful PT session. That is a really good calorie burn, and the fact that you are really working hard. If we are able to find where the Cardinal family is, I will try to take a pic. They are such beautiful birds.

Laurel, Love all the workouts! I love that you are enjoying your workouts again. That is the most important part of the process. You will for sure be working better since your body is not as tired. Makes me happy to hear that your bird enjoys the acoustics of the wreath. I so enjoy the yoga, but don't think that I will ever be able to do crane.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and 30 minutes of Peloton yoga focused on hips. It was a perfect blend.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad your PT sessions are so helpful and productive. Sounds like you are making great strides. We have been warm as well with humidity and rain returning to the forecast this weekend. But I am still able to wear long pants on our deck after dinner right now, so we are still cooler than usual. But I think those days are coming to an end and I will be in shorts with a fan on and complaining in no time. 😅

Laurie, great workouts, including the deep cleaning. I am sure it feels good to have the time to do chores like that, but that doesn’t make for fun days either. I don’t even try crane anymore. I never was comfortable with it because of my shoulders, and that hasn’t gotten better with time. I usually just do malasana (squat) pose instead. How much longer I can do that….well, who knows? But so far my knees don’t mind, especially since I ditched the impact which has helped my knees tremendously.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Today didn't go as planned and I only got a little walking and a short low impact Hiit workout.
We have another very sick elderly cat. She is having a hard time breathing and has a partially collapsed lung. DH had to drive her to UGA in Athens, GA. It's two hours away from here. Poor thing is in a controlled oxygen kennel and bronchodilators. The specialist will take control of her case on Friday morning.

Laurie, great job with those workouts and the deep cleaning of your cabinets!
I was going to ask you the other day if your DH was going to start doing yoga but forgot to ask. I hope you'll be able to convince him to give it a try one of these days.

I love that you got to see the hummingbird at your window!

    Laurel, great workouts!

I am really happy with my progress in PT. I am glad I chose this PT instead of my usual one.
I m still able to wear long pants too. It's almost shorts weather for sure.

    Have a great weekend!

    Morning Ladies,

DH is going to be in Michigan this weekend, so I drove to a park n ride so he can get picked up by his friend. He will be helping sell car parts at a car show/swap meet. After I dropped him off I got in my yoga, and did a workout that I know DH wouldn't enjoy. I did Kelly's Raw Shadow Box 101 on youtube.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Truth be told I hate cleaning the house, but taking little chunks of it periodically really makes it better. DH said that the cleaning is just as intense as a workout sometimes. 😀 I'm just glad that we started this yoga journey, we probably should have done that when Thelma was going on her yoga journey.

Thelma, I'm so sorry about your cat. Hope all goes well. You did something with your workout, and to me it looks like you got in a really great one. When we are going though something like you are it is hard to get into that mindset of working out. There is a family reunion for my Dad's side of the family this weekend, and I just couldn't make myself want to go. This will be the first Father's Day without my Dad, so I really wanted to be by myself.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was 2.0 Supersets Total Body, a 30 minute spin and 15 minutes of hamstring focused yoga.

Thelma, I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. I really hope they can do something to help her. Great workouts despite all that going on.

Laurie, great workouts. I agree about the yoga journey. I really should have done this much earlier, but at least we are on it now. I hate cleaning the house as well. I tell DH that I would happily swap yard work for house cleaning, but he hates house cleaning more than I do, so that is a no go. Oh well. I don’t blame you for staying home this weekend. It will be a tough one for you. I hope you do something that brings you comfort and joy.

    See you Monday!

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was good and as usual busy with house chores.
We got a little rain both days. This week may be cloudy with possible thunderstorms here and there.

My kitty is still hospitalized and in an oxygen kennel. An endotracheal wash procedure was performed on her Friday afternoon. We now know she has severe bacterial pneumonia, which is rare in cats, but possible in cats with asthma. The asthma thing is news to me, but it came up on an X-Ray report done over a week ago at the ER. Poor girl. She couldn't be in better hands though. Hopefully she'll come home later on this week.

I decided to restart CG's Epic Heat this week again because last week turned out to be the wrong week to start the program.

Friday's workouts were yoga and walking.
    Saturday - walking.
Sunday - walking and CG Epic Heat Day 1 = Leg Day Complexes.

    Laurie, great workouts!
I hate house cleaning too. The only way to get through it is by doing it small chunks at a time.
I kept suggesting you ladies do yoga for the longest time! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see that you're both enjoying yoga so much now.

I'm sorry this Father's Day as a sad one for you, Laurie. I'm sure you were all missing your dad. I think you did the right thing by not attending the family reunion this time.

    Laurel, great workouts!

We're hoping our kitty will get better soon. At least we know what she has and that it is treatable.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was pretty good. Saturday was pretty stormy, but we managed to get the lawn mowed and some other chores done in between showers. Yesterday DH left for the week so I cleaned the house and read a book, which was nice.

For workouts, on Saturday I did LMR Functional Yoga Fusion and Bonus Restorative Yoga. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin, 15 minutes of Peloton Core and 15 minutes of Peloton Yoga. Today was 2.0 Giant Sets Total Body and 30 minutes of Peloton Yoga+Pilates.

Thelma, great workouts. I understand starting your rotation over after all that happened last week. I am sorry your kitty is still in the hospital, but, as you say, at least you know what is wrong with her. I hope she can come home very soon, but it sounds like she is in good hands. We have the same weather forecast for the week. I am still happy to be in a pattern of rain right now even though the humidity is so very high. But I love that everything is so alive and growing. One of our hydrangeas has all of a sudden developed a ton of buds! I can’t wait to see it bloom again. We thought it was dead a couple of years ago and nearly took it out of the ground. So glad we were patient with it.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Monday were walking and CG Epic Heat Day 2 - Shoulder Supersets. I went heavier than I have in a long time, which felt great. The weakness in my right shoulder showed its ugly head during and after the workout, but I pushed through. I need to self-massage and do some mobility work to make it feel better and it finally did. As long as the discomfort passes, I'm good.
I forgot to tell you that yesterday during the leg workout there were high squats, where Caroline holds the dumbells in front of her shoulders. I never dear do thosse that way because I felt that I couldn't hold a good weight to make it count. When I did the workout last week and yesterday I held 15# dumbbells, that is heavy for me with that move. She also did staggered RDLs holding one dumbbell over the shoulder and I was able to hold a 15# dumbbell. My right side needed a little assist, but I did it.
Can you believe that my PT telling me that I was stronger than most, helped me feel confident enough to go out of my comfort zone!

I'd been using 5# for shoulders because I'm so afraid to hurt them, but today I went with 7.5# dumbbells. Caroline did unilateral real delt flys and rows. I used 8.5# for the flys and 15.5# for the rows. I think I could've gone a little heavier with the rows and maybe even the flys, but not too much.

I'm losing hope about my kitty. The antibiotics aren't working. We may have to set her free this week.

    Laurel, great workouts!!
We got about 10 minutes of rain tonight and that was it. Our weather guy told us that we'll be drying out in the next few days and temps are going to go up. He added that the rain will come back to ward the end of the month.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and 2.0 Mat Yoga, which felt perfect today.

Thelma, great workouts! It sounds like you are doing great with the weights!! I find holding the weights in front of my shoulders for squats pretty awkward, so I think 15# is fantastic for that. I am glad to hear your shoulder is recovering from the workouts with a little TLC. I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, though. That is such sad news, especially since it has only been a couple of months since you lost your other kitty. You must be heartbroken.

We didn’t get much rain either yesterday. But it looks like the humidity is going to stay near the extreme level as the temperatures rise. I am not sure I am looking for that, especially since I am going to need to mow the lawn at the end of the week. 90 degrees with 80 percent humidity isn’t my ideal mowing weather without a doubt.

    See you tomorrow.

    Hello Ladies,

I had a very nice quiet weekend. I did yoga both days, and for the rest of it I just was sewing. DH came home on Saturday evening. Overall is was just nice and quiet.

For workouts we did PJ's Cardio Core workout yesterday and this morning besides the yoga we did a Full Body workout. This one was a metabolic type workout.

Laurel, Awesome job with all the workouts! We haven't had any rain for a while, it appears that we may get rain, but nothing happens. It is very hot today, but there is a breeze. So it was nice to be outside working in that. Can't imagine what it would have been like without the breeze. Both DH and I where sweating buckets during the workout. Not normal for me to have the sweat dripping off my hair. Guess we are very humid right now. Today a big fat bee was buzzing around the plant that I was trying to weed. He just went about his business, and didn't care about me.

Thelma, Great job with the Heat workouts! Hope everything gets better for your kitty. Glad to hear that it is getting the greatest care. I'm super happy about the yoga, I'm getting so much more flexible. It kind of surprised me how fast that flexibility went away. Just really happy that I'm able to get it back again, and everything is starting to feel so much better.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking and CG Epic Heat Day 3 - DEPLETED Lower Body Workout. This was a no repeat fantastic leg workout. It included a couple of different burpee type exercises. One was burpee into Sumo squat. I liked this move a lot. I am getting better at doing squats holding dumbbells in front of my shoulders. There was also a staggered RDL with a dumbbell over the shoulder. This move feels pretty awkward, but I think I did better today than on Sunday's leg workout.

We got a couple of thunderstorms in the early evening. At some point it rained pretty hard, and the wind was strong. Some areas of GA got hit hard with lots of downed trees. it seems GA has been getting hit with microbursts.

We will making the long drive to UGA in Athens, GA Wednesday afternoon to say goodbye to our kitty. It's going to be very hard. Two cats in two months. We'll be down to one cat, and he is our oldest.

A Dr. Sims video on jumping came up on my FB the other day and I saved it; in case you wanted to watch it. It's only a few minutes long.

Laurel, great workouts! I agree with you that squatting while holding dumbbells in front of the shoulders feels awkward, but the staggered (one legged) squats feel even worse for me. The squats with dumbbell in front of the shoulders felt less awkward today. My shoulder was angry today still but got better as the day went on.

Thank you for your kind words about the loss of my kitties. I am brokenhearted for sure. I've cried a lot and will cry more in the coming days.

I read today that the humidity is going to be pretty high starting on Friday. I guess it's time to get the shorts out!

Laurie, great workouts! I am so happy to hear you're finding yoga so beneficial!

Sadly, our kitty didn't respond to any of the treatments. We got back the antibiotic sensitivity culture and she is on the right antibiotics, but she's not getting better and is dependent on oxygen. We will be setting her free. The doctor tells me she's not suffering, but I think she is because she's away from us. They allowed us to talk to her over the phone today and she perked up and was trying to figure out where our voices were coming from.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was 2.0 Trisets Total Body and Peloton yoga. This is my last 2.0 total body workout in this hybrid rotation I am doing right now, and I went as heavy as I could. It felt good, and now I have a few days to recover before I go on to upper/lower 2.0 and LMR workouts, which I am looking forward to.

Laurie, I am glad you enjoyed a nice quiet and relaxing weekend. Great job with the workouts. I agree in being surprised how quickly I was losing flexibility, but how much I have gotten back in these couple of months of yoga. It really makes a huge difference in how I feel when I am doing everything else. Our humidity has been so very high this summer so far. I normally only use a fan when I am spinning but this summer I have had to turn one on for my strength training because my hands get so wet I don’t feel like it is safe to lift. And we haven’t even gotten to the hot temperatures yet, which is coming this weekend. From what I read this morning, it looks like everybody from the Midwest across to the Atlantic are going to fry soon. 😎

Thelma, great workouts. I like the sound of that lower body workout. I am so very, very sorry about your kitty. I know today is going to be so hard, but I am glad you are going to be with her. When you described talking to her on the phone, I just got sad for she and you. Huge hugs.

    See you tomorrow.

    Hello Ladies,

Our workout today was a PJ Low Impact Cardio workout. This one was a no repeat, so to me it went really quickly.

Today is a rain day around here, it started last night and we are still getting rain off and on. DH is at the DMV right now, and he texted me that the line was out the door. Is there ever a good time to go to one of those government buildings. 🙄

Thelma, So very sorry about your cat. That has to be really hard for the both of you, but I'm sure that it will be best for your feline friend. Great job with the workouts! I have never liked the on the shoulder move, so I usually don't do it. It does help with keeping the squat in the right posture, but those weights can get really heavy on the shoulders. Thanks for the video, I will take a look at it. Do take care od yourself, and please let your DH know that I'm thinking and praying for the both of you.

Laurel, Awesome job with the workouts! My yoga workout is delayed today, I'm going to try out a bedtime yoga routine. Just something different, and wondering how it will feel to do something like that before bed. Will it make me sleep better, we will see. Okay if you are having that type of heat that the weights are getting slippery, you are really getting some humidity. DH and I where upstairs in one of the bedrooms cleaning today, and it was hot. Crazy how much stuff accumulates, and of course we have to get the girls over to say ya or nay to some of the things that they left behind. If it's nay then it's going to be on it's way to a resale shop.

    Have a wonderful day!
