Hi Ladies! My workouts on Wednesday were walking and a great triceps, shoulders, chest, core and mobility workout at PT.

Today was an emotional day to say the least. We left the house at 10:45 for Athens, GA. We got there at 1PM. We waited for a little while and my cat's doctor came to the waiting area to get us so we could go be with Charmy. As the doctor was opening the door to the ICU she told us Charmy was doing better! Up until 11:30 am there was no change in her breathing, but a miracle happened one hour before we got there! The nurses noticed Charmy's breathing wasn't labored and immediately called the doctor and the student assigned to her. The doctor told us, guys, I don't think this is the time to let her go yet. We of course, couldn't have agreed more. She looked really good. We spent 45 minutes with her outside of the oxygen kennel. It was so amazing in many ways. The staff had been loving and feeding her all kinds of goodies all night long because she was going to be euthanized. When we got there and they saw us they were all smiles.
Charmy was weaned off the oxygen kennel throughout the afternoon and as of 5:30PM she was almost at room oxygen level in the kennel. They were hopefully going to transfer her to a normal kennel tonight. I cried tears of joy during the visit. It was so special to see how much the nursing staff and doctors cared about us and our kitty. I hope the news are still good in the morning. They also switched Charmy from IV to oral meds because she is eating well and also to make sure she responds well to oral meds.

The student assigned to Charmy is from MA and lived in the town next to where we used to live.
The young doctor is from Peru. She heard me say something in Spanish to Charmy and asked me where I was from. Small world.

    Sorry for the long post.

Laurel, great workouts! Congratulations on finishing the rotation and for going as heavy as possible!
It's amazing but we think that phone call to our cat made a difference in her healing. The doctor said she was going to have to use that with her patients and their owners.

Laurie, great workouts! I can't wait to hear about your bedtime yoga experience!
I am not looking forward to the humidity at all! Good job cleaning the house and getting rid of things you no longer need. It is crazy how much stuff accumulates.
Thank you for your prayers. I know DH was very emotional at the hospital because his face was very red. Charmy adores him, and she was all over him. He kept petting her and lifting her up to bring her belly to his ear trying to hear for labored breathing and couldn't hear anything.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin and Peloton core and yoga.

Thelma, that is the best news about your kitty!!! I hope she continues to heal. I definitely believe that she just needed to hear your voices to get better. I am so happy she is being well taken care of and you were able to spend a good deal of time with her. That drive home must have been so much better than the drive there….or the drive you expected it to be. I bet you were exhausted. Again, I hope all of the news going forward is as good. Great workouts!

Laurie, great workouts. Like Thelma, I am really interested to hear how you enjoy bedtime yoga. Please keep us posted. I hear you on how things accumulate so quickly. I spent all of last year getting rid of stuff and not buying anything unless it was to replace something, and in the first six months of this year, I feel like we have taken huge steps backwards. But it is just too hot to do anything in the attic now, so it will have to wait until winter. We have had rain all morning here this morning, which is pretty unusual this time of year. Our dew point has been pretty consistently between 65 and 75 degrees for several weeks now. Again, we are just lucky it hasn’t gotten hot yet or else it would be miserable. But we are headed into the 90s this weekend, so we’ll see just how miserable that is.

    See you tomorrow.
