Bump. Still trying to get back on track...felt lazy last night and ordered in pizza instead of cooking the fish I had thawed for dinner. It probably took longer waiting for the pizza than it would've to just cook the fish. Fish is so easy to cook! I was SOOOO lazy!

    Feeling less lazy today. :)

Laurie - zero miles to end the month with. I know I didn't come in at my goal. Such is life. Did better than last month I think.

    So impressed with everyone else.

Welcome to any newbies that have come along since my last posting! Welcome welcome! :drinker:

    Happy Saturday!!

My NSV is that I'm 6 days on plan and I feel great. It's funny how much I like being in control and yet most of my life has been out of control when it comes to my eating. I just want to get my act together and do this!!

Weighed in today (because I forgot to yesterday) and down another 1.2 pounds from my last weigh in (Tuesday) Bringing me to 2 pounds for the last week, and approximately 11 pounds for the month so far.

Also, I got to bring my kitty home! SO happy! Hopefully her recovery goes as smoothly as the last one.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

I have been such a slug today. I did wash the dishes and cooked 2 meals but otherwise nothing. Oh well, I guess tomorrow is a fresh start. It is too bad though cause I have so much that needs done. I think weekends should have 3 days so that one can be a lazy day, one for church and one for all the stuff you need to do.

I've been on vacation all week, with just snacks (fruit/veggies, nuts, protein bars) brought from home. All other meals were eaten out. There has been a lot of driving, not as much activity. I will have a lot of making up for it to do in the next few weeks.

On the bright side, I am cool, calm and relaxed, and the few aches and pains I've had lately are gone (thanks partly to a hot tub!)

Robin E- hope you are doing okay. Did you get sideline again on exercise? If not go to the pool and enjoy the water.
Fera- Glad your kitty is home. Hope the recovery goes well.

The end of the month is rapidly approaching. What do we want to do for the July challenge?

Yesterday, was a totally lazy day for me- lack of motivation, tired of eating right, exercising etc. So I took most of the day off and enjoyed the junk food. Today, the scale was down talk about positive motivation for a bad day. I know it is most likely water weight and the weight was due to drop again but still. If I could only eat like that all the time and still lose weight.

I did swim today and took a walk so I managed over 3 miles today. Not much going on right now.

    Exercise plans
Sunday- Might bike or go to the gym-Not sure what I want to do tomorrow.
    Monday- Kayaking, gym and Swim?
    Tuesday- Rest
    Wednesday- Gym and swim
    Thursday- gym
    Friday- Off
    Saturday- Swim

    Not-so-great day... 6/28 - 1.1 miles

I spent most of the day sitting in the bedroom where we have my cat that just had surgery set up as her 'recovery room' and keeping her company. I even had to make myself a protein shake with a banana at the end of the night because I was just under 1100 calories for the day. Oops.

Hmm. Possibly "exercise minutes"? I like the mileage challenge, too.

Got up the motivation to bike to work this morning! It's not a bad ride, just 30 minutes round trip for me. We have a shower in the employee lounge at this building, so I was able to get all cleaned up before punching in....this is a relatively new building, but it HAS been here for a year and a half....and they STILL don't have a curtain in the employee shower?!? It is in its own room with a door that locks so privacy is fine, but without a curtain, water sprays everywhere. Luckily, the room is big enough that my dry stuff stayed dry on the other end of the room, but geez.

Sunday Share: My name is Amanda. I joined MFP in December 2012. I lost about 40 lbs in the first six months, but then took a promotion at work and the stress got away from me. I gained back a good chunk of my loss and ended 2013 with 16 lbs down overall. So, not a total loss, but it could've been so much better!

In January 2014, I joined the New Year's Resolution crowd and signed up for a weight loss competition at a local running store. I started working out with a buddy. I started meal planning. I got back on track with tracking on MFP and I found this wonderful thread and you wonderful people! As of June, I was back to where I had gotten a year ago...40 lbs down!

Now, I'm getting a little lazy because my friend has some bp issues that are keeping her from exercising with me, and the fun of summer and some new stress at work are trying to get in my way.

I'm determined to finish this summer strong! My half-marathon training begins tomorrow. (I WAS going to use a 16 week training plan, but fell off the running wagon after the 10K I ran a couple weeks ago...so, I'm using a 12 week program.)

I WILL stick to my training plan! I WILL take advantage of all the wonderful fresh fruits and veggies that are/will be in season in the coming weeks! I WILL get back to the gym with or without my friend a couple times per week! July, here I come!

Laurie- I WILL plug in my fuel band tonight and update my miles before I go to bed! LOL

    Sunday: Bike to Work-DONE:smile:
    Monday: Gym-Lift and Stretch
    Tuesday: Run
    Wednesday: Bike Ride
    Thursday: Run and 30DS
    Friday: Rest
    Saturday: Bike Ride
    Sunday: Run

    Good morning everyone.

Happy National Camera Day! Go Ahead, Take Your Best Shot. Did you know that today is National Camera Day? That is right – July 4th, take that! Without cameras we couldn’t take pictures of your flashy fireworks. In fact, everyday we all seem to celebrate National Camera Day, as cameras have become a part of our daily life more and more. We take snaps with our smartphones to capture precious moments or expose others…The DSLR is no longer just for the advanced photographer, but also for the amateur one who is looking to show off their photography skills with their big lenses. There are also super durable cameras available for kids now – that encourage children to take pictures even at a young age.
So today we celebrate several cameras that make us appreciate National Camera Day. Go ahead and give your camera or smartphone camera a kiss today. If you don’t have a camera, but you do have a waffle iron – you can give that a hug too! Because coincidentally, it is also National Waffle Iron Day today!

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Today is the completion of my first week since joining MFP and seriously rededicating myself to getting this weight off. Since Sunday is sharing day this is my blog entry I wrote about completing my first week. Thanks for reading and wish you all an awesome upcoming week!! :flowerforyou:

I finished my first week and was happy to record a 5.2 pound loss. Sure it was mostly water weight but at least it was a loss and I completed a full week. The week wasn’t without its bumps in the road. Had one rep from work bring in Panera bagels on Monday and another rep bring in Chick-fil-a biscuits on Friday. Such a pain having a newbie at work and all the reps showing up with their goodies. However, I did record every bite I ate and I was within my calorie allowance.

I also started exercising. Our new treadmill was hooked up and along with the elliptical I am really excited to have both these machines in my house. I worked out Monday through Friday for at least 20 minutes and on a couple of days made it to 30 minutes. Now that I have rearranged my schedule working out 5 days a week should be totally obtainable.

I had Joe take pictures of me in both a tight clothes (biker shorts and tank) and work clothes. Disgusting!! Looking at the pictures is the most in-my-face evidence of what I have let myself become. And to top it off I went I took my measurements. No more hiding behind a big shirt and stretch pants this time!!

I have also logged onto MFP every day and have joined a couple of group, participated on threads, and done a lot of reading. I like this board very much. The knowledgeable people don’t pull any punches and the advice is sensible, and it will work as long as I do the work. Plus, I know staying on the board will keep me focused. That and honestly counting my calories every…single…day!

I saw this quote by Zig Ziglar on one of the threads and it has become my new motto. “The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now.” How incredibly true has that been for most of my life! I printed it out and have it taped to my desk at home and at work. I haven’t eaten as clean as I would have wanted to but also didn't blow it like I usually do and for that I count this week as victory. Bring on week two!!!
