I'll start, and it'll work as an example;
I've heard that eating carbs (or just eating at all) after 6pm should be avoided because when you're sleeping it's harder to break it down, but I've also heard that this isn't true. If it is true then it's a good tip I guess.

Myth: You should eat 6 small meals a day
Fact: This does absolutely nothing in terms of weight loss. If 3 meals a day plus snacks keep you satisfied, then go for it. If 6 small meals is more to your liking, great- then eat that way. There is no magic combination of meals that will make you lose weight any faster.0 -
If we're myth-busting do I get to blow some *kitten* up? I will grow a moustache and wear a delightful hat if necessary.0

Myth: You'll gain 5 pounds of fat after having a single cheat day
Fact: it takes work to lose it and it takes work to gain it. One cheat day will not drive a 5lb gain on the scales the next day. Not pooping and water retention may do that, but it's not a fat gain from one cheat day.0 -
Thank you for this one!!! I despise breakfast time. I am never hungry before lunch and get annoyed with people telling me I should be eating breakfast. :explode:Myth: Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism.
Fact: It doesn't.

Myth: You have to "eat more to weigh less"
Fact: Most of us are here because we got fat eating too much and "EMWL" is often (but not always, settle down) a tag line for justifying crappy food. Please, 5' females, stop letting 6'2, 210 pound male body builders tell you how much to eat and then start a thread a month later on why you aren't loosing. DERP.
Myth: "Curvy"
Fact: That word is rarely used in the proper context.0 -

Myth: Baby fat
Fact: You're 32 d*mnit
Ahem ... I think at 32, the baby fat may come from the fact you had one (or 2) not that you are one.0 -

While I agree with your premise about people eating too much, I think singling out bodybuilders is a bit rude.0 -
Myth: Muscle weights more than fat, so when you start working out (lifting or cardio) you might gain muscle weight...
Fact: 1 day of "working out" will NOT put on 2-3lbs of muscle. In anyone...period.
It's water weight, muscle are used to being a couch potato and they are retaining water. Unless you went over your calories by 7000 in one day. In which, BRAVO! :noway:0 -

Oooh wasn't trying to single them out, just saying that you can't really let someone who can't relate to your body tell you what's best for you. I've never actually seen a body builder tell someone who wasn't a body builder how to eat. I was just being "funny". I love body builders............... *mouth breathing*0 -
