Mentally I feel like I am back in the race. I am reading up on the subject of weight loss. Right now I am reading The Thin Commandments...Thanks Shirley! The second book I have lined up is Where did all the fat go? It seems to be helping me with getting my eating under control and not going back to the same bad eating habits after a week. 3 years ago I was down 30lbs and by going back to my old ways I gained it all back. This time I hope to break the cycle.

I've been adding some fruit to my diet. I eat a lot of veggies but not so much fruit. I've been trying to eat an apple a day. I usually eat it on the way to pick my daughter up from school.

1stPaul -- I was wondering how many inches of snow y'all got with the storm last week? My daughter always tells me... "I don't know." All I could find was the prediction on-line but not what ended up having, there. I am always curious about what she is now living in after being born & raised in Texas. She used to keep her Winter Coat on in the house, here. Ha!
BTW, I've never been sledding, but it sure does sound fun (but cold)!
Goldk -- I'm looking forward to the Spring thread. So far, so good this week!!!!! It's been a long time since I've truly stayed under 1200 calories for a week. I'm almost at the end of the week. Consistency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New job, locked keys in my car along with my lunch, had forgotten cell phone at home on charger so had to borrow other phones to call & leave message with my husband, secure environment so no way for him to reach me, etc.

Hi everyone I am back from vacation and getting back at it. I am reading about the 10 day Turbo
Charge diet from THE THIN COMMANDMENTS. So I hope to get more fuel for my weight
loss. I gained 2.8 lbs after vacation and I had planned my shopping list before I left and had
a strategy. I still had ice cream one day and key lime pie which my husband and I shared.
I ate alot of fish and planned our breakfasts and lunches and went out for dinners everynight
but one. So let's continue this journey and today I am back on track!!!!!

Hi gals! You guys kept me motivated through the weekend and I was down 3 pounds this morning! :drinker: Which was especially gratifying after a weekend with relatives (fun, but also stress!) and lots of food temptations! I repeated my mantra to myself a few times - 'stay strong,stay strong' - thanks Goldk!
Elbee1 - where does your daughter live in Minnesota, is she in St. Paul? We got about 8 inches last Tuesday at our house, but I know other people got closer to 10. I inherited the old family farmhouse that my grandparents lived in, and that is near LaCrosse, WI. That's where we went sledding over the weekend. We had a famly get-together there with my parents, brothers, cousins and kids. There was a little less snow there, and unfortunately it was rainy and cold all day Saturday ... but luckily it was just light rain and that didn't stop the kids from sledding. But I didn't sled, climbing up the icy hill just didn't seem like a good idea when I am still getting over a back injury. But it was fun to watch the kids.
