I get it, all of you that are freaking out arguing like to be over weight. thats fine. Just dont complain that you dont see results is all. If you want results get your diet in check and your water intake in check. that is all
Son, most of the people rebuking your claims are in peak physical condition.

Check yo' self before you wreck yo' self.

peak physical condition? i think not, that would require eating healthy foods

Why do you care what others eat?!? Obviously you need glasses because you can't see how great the ones you are arguing with look. I would just shut up now if I were you (btw, I'm glad I'm not.)

I dont care what others eat, IM JUST SAYING DONT COMPLAIN WHEN YOU DONT SEE RESULTS IF YOU ARE GONNA EAT CRAP FOOD.

but you do care or you wouldn't have posted this thread.

and who on this entire site complained to you about our results and what we eat?

so just chill... realize you stuck your foot in it. laugh at the responses. don't be so gung-ho on your "clean eating"belief.

lots of people probably agree with you about clean eating (for the record, i don't), so you'll find them or they'll find you and then you can all pat each other on backs for being more enlightened than the rest of us.

until then, remember that you can catch more flies with sugar than vinegar.

There's an exceptionally annoying dude at my gym who brought in a bag from McDonalds TO THE GYM and proceeded to eat it there. The smell of the french fries was making it hard for me to finish my workout!

Okay now that, that is a deck move.

All joking and fighting aside, I *think I get the idea of what you are saying. There are definitely people who work out very lightly, feel they "deserve" a huge combo from a fast food place, and they never really lose weight and complain about it. I used to be one of those people.:) I truly didn't understand anything about health/nutrition back then. I do now, and I've adjusted accordingly. It really depends on what people's goals are and what they are willing to cut out and still feel comfortable with, and what they will stick to. I do think I understand the intent of what you were saying, and it wasn't meant to start a fight.

This was my "post workout recovery drink" after my first half marathon. I also had a couple slices of pizza, a bunch of cheese and crackers and a whole lot more beer. I got up at 7:00 the next morning and ran a couple miles. Maybe because this worked for me I should proselytize on the benefits of high ABV beer and pizza and cheese after a workout.
    BeastHalf.jpg

I will vouch for the the benefits of high ABV beer and pizza and cheese after a work out. At least that's what my now-husband and I went straight for after a week long backpacking trip (which is where he proposed). I don't think I would have been properly refueled after that trip if we'd stoped at a whole pizza and a few pints of stout a piece, though. I at least had to follow it up with a basket of fried smelt.

    BOOM! Peer reviewed again!

Never got into drinking alcohol. I just figured if i were to consume 10 beers = over 1,000 EMPTY calories. Id rather have something nutritional.

I don't want to sound mean, but I agree, I see these people down the pool doing length after length only to stop at the vending machines and subway (it's next door to the pool) straight after and it's quite...disappointing. People need to realize that after exercise, protein is good, but fat slows digestion down and is quite bad (in terms of weight loss) after exercise

Science is your friend. This is all very wrong except the protein is good part.

"science is your friend" coming from the person who just said "mmm McRib"????!??! no. sorry. it absolutely does not work that way. Science IS our friend. and 70+ ingredients, plus the stuff they use to make the foamy part of yoga mats, are included in the McRib. and that's okay to put in your body?! please! it's not JUST about calories and fat grams and protein! the ACTUAL food you put in your body absolutely DOES matter. you may be able to get the "same" results in terms of weight loss by merely sticking to a certain amount of calories/fat but that in NO way means that a 700 calorie McDonald's meal is equal to a meal of fresh steamed vegetables, a lean protein such as chicken or fish, and a handful of almonds!

I honestly never knew how ignorant some people were when it came to nutrition until I came to this site. I am constantly blown away.

Lean beef has some of the same ingredients as an engine block.

I was kind of thinking the same thing when I joined. There has been so much information out there thrown into everyone's face time and time again, I am surprised that certain things are really not known by now. Have some people been living under rocks?

No I don't always make the best choices, but I know the information and I know the right thing to do. I always say I know exactly what I need to do and what is crappy for me and what has crappy ingredients and what doesn't, I just don't always execute :)

I don't see a problem with it assuming it fits their macros and calories and does not mean that the rest of their diet it nutrient deficient as a result. I see people on my FL eating that all the time - they still get results.

I really liked that "the dirt on eating clean" article. Thanks!!

You are welcome - I am glad someone read it. Unfortunately it was not the OP.

Everything in moderation...even the *bad* stuff.

If you're an ultra-athlete I can see the danger of incorporating fast foods (or comfort food of some type) into your diet

Michael Phelps: Breakfast: Three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. Two cups of coffee. One five-egg omelet. One bowl of grits. Three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar. Three chocolate-chip pancakes. Lunch: One pound of enriched pasta. Two large ham and cheese sandwiches with mayo on white bread. Energy drinks packing 1,000 calories. Dinner: One pound of pasta. An entire pizza. More energy drinks.

So, nah, even ultra-athletes just make sure it fits their macros :-D

Wrong beers. The one in that picture is about 500 calories for the one 12 ouncer. And it's delicious.

    These kinds of sites?

Well if people are less sensitive elsewhere, then maybe you should take your campaign to save the masses elsewhere!
