I don't have any recent pics in street clothes, but here is before heavy lifting and last month's progress picture. I am due to take new pics this weekend, but wanted to go ahead and throw this in the thread. I do compound barbell lifts as heavy as I can, three times a week, walk on the treadmill for "cardio" a couple times a week. I am 5'6.5, I am so "bulky" that my co-workers think I weight about 15lbs less than I actually do.
All you ladies are super inspiring! A thread like this is what got me into lifting weights last year!

I've upped my lifting day cals to 2100 after "talking" to Dan and I killed 130 lb deadlifts yesterday...only 5 lbs from body weight and it felt...dare I say...easy.0 -

Boom! I love it! Congrats!
I just hit 135 lb deadlifts, although that is further from body weight for me. But I'm getting closer! If it wasn't for this stupid flu that hit me this week I'd be closer to it. *sighs*0 -
I only lift heavy anymore. I used to be big on doing reps for ten, but started Crossfit and was shown the light. I'm still a heavy guy (~230) but I look much leaner than I used to.
Bench: 390
Deadlift: 405

^^THIS! I don't "lift heavy" persay but I lift and am working on the getting to heavy part. BUT I can say that the last time my *kitten* was in a size 8 I was shorter and lighter than I am currently. Shorter by about an inch and lighter by about 20lbs. The other thing is there was not one spot of my clothing that was LOOSE then either... I will NEVER regret deciding to start lifting weights.0 -
@sidesteel: I've been deployed for a while and there isn't much esle to do here but lift. Before it's time to go home I will be at 405. I gotta see 4 plates on each side before I leave.0

Speaking of looking/feeling like you weigh less...
I bought these (truly hideous, I know) jeans in 19-frickin-86 when I was about 14 years old and no more than 110 pounds.
I had a soft spot for them and couldn't throw them out (*cough*hoarder*cough*). I remember posting about them on FB some time in 2010 saying I should ditch them because they only way they'll ever fit again, the only way I'd be 110 pounds again, would be if I became horribly ill.
I was half right. I would need to be horribly ill to be 110 pounds again. I currently have a lean mass of about 110 pounds. Now I'm 40 years old and around 135 pounds, and those ugly frickin' jeans fit.
They don't fit comfortably, mind you, but they fit.0 -
Wow Lorena....those are terrible. Lol0
