Hey ladies! :flowerforyou:

can't believe we already closed down another thread! hope everyone is able to find their way back here.

Well I was looking into my calendar and I know I keep setting goals for myself and failing but I really don't wanna get to my birthday in July and look back with any regrets. I wanna be able to wear a nice dress and have my legs look amazing! I wanna be able to go to the beach with my friends if I want and have fun and not be self conscious!

So it's roughly about 9 weeks until July. I know we don't usually do official weigh ins but I would definately be happy with losing 10lbs in that time and I know I can do it if I really push myself. Some of you dont have that much to lose to reach their goal so maybe come up with something involving the number 10 to be accomplished in 9 weeks....

For example:
*Be able to run a 10k in 9 weeks
*Be able to do 10 regular pushups in 9 weeks

you get the idea, that way we can all strive to meet a similar goal.

Can't wait to hear what you ladies come up with!

Good Morning ladies! This weekend was terrific! I got some great workouts in this weekend. Sunday was my rest day and it felt soo good. Stepped on the scale Saturday AM, and saw that I had lost 1.8 pounds in about 2 weeks. Only 4 more pounds until I'm in the 140s!! Yippee! I am so dang excited! I haven't ever been in the 140s and been HEALTHY. So, it will be a major accomplishment for me. I know I can do it! My biggest focus right now is to really get toned up, especially my tummy. My tummy is a lot flatter but still flabby.

Choco- you can totally rock the 2 piece! Way to increase the weights, isn't such a great feeling knowing you are getting stronger? And with that, you'll get more toned too..how awesome!

Nola- way to kick it back into high gear! May is your month to shine!

My goal: Increase my 10K time/pace in 9 weeks by at least 5-10 minutes, giving me a 6mph average pace.

    10 in 9 part 3....Woo Hoo.

Thank you for the compliments lady. I feel cofident to rock the 2 piece and if the weather permits I will. My stomach still needs some toning but hey I feel and look good at 37 so I definitely will not be complaining.

Nola: Way to kick it back in to gear. Btw, I really truly appreciated you looking into flights for me. I really hope to make it to New Orleans for Essence b/c it would be cool to hang out.

Dawna: Great job w/the workouts and your weight loss. I know you're excited to have gotten through that plateau.

Dawna: way to go on those workouts! and what a great Goal you have planned! I think apart from vanity another great out come of this is endurance and I applaud anyone who is able to run like you do! wow you're inspiring!

Crickks - I cannot believe its already May! That's how I realized I need to step it up. I'm almost halfway through the year and nothing to show for it - I gotta start pushing myself like never before and have something to show for the year 2010 - The year I got back my body! wooo hoooo! :drinker: I'm getting excited just thinking about it!

Choco: you are very welcome. do you have any goals u wanna meet in 9 weeks?

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone's Tuesday gets off to a great start. I slept pretty well last night which is something that doesn't happen often so I can appreciate it. Today is week 3 day 2 of the P90X program and it's a cardio day. Since I have been pretty successful w/HIIT I decided to try it again today. I really pushed myself w/the HIIT today and was very, very proud of myself.

Here's how I completed the routine today

    5 minutes - warm up - 5.0 mph
    30 second sprint - 8.0 mph
    2 minute - recovery speed 6.0 mph
    30 second sprint - 8.0 mph
    2 minute - recovery speed 6.0 mph

I alternated between my sprint and recovery speeds for a total of 30 minutes.

Last week my sprint speed was 7.7 mph so I increased it just a bit. Next week I may try incorporating some type of incline into the equation but I'm not sure just yet.

Once the HIIT was completed I hoped on the spinning bike for 15 minutes and then completed a 15 minute ab circuit.

Nola: HELP ME, I need a 10 in 9 goal. I have no clue what I should focus on in the next 9 weeks other than to finish the P90X program but I don't know how to incorporate the 10 into the equation.....

hey choco! thnx for trying to participate in the challenge. I knwo u are great at doing pushups, but I forgot what number you could do. if you're not at doing 10 in a row yet, perhaps that can be something u can strive for. ( I can barelydo 10 female pushups much less 10 regular ones!) or any move that you think is difficult for you that u have been struggling with? what about pullups? ( I cannot even do a single one hahaha - no upper arm strength I tell you) And I know you also have said that cooking is not a strength what about trying 10 new recipes in 9 weeks? hehe sounds like a lot but u can do one every week. Doesn't have to be nothing fancy or complex but just trying ne things will open your food selection. hmmm that's all I got for now.

Also I checked tickets yesterday at work but I didnt get a chance to do it again last night. they are pretty much staying in the $420 range unfortunately and I found them with direct flight to nola but on ur way back there are layovers for some reason.

    I'll keep loking!

Nola, I can do a decent number of push ups (you have to do so many w/P90X ) but I truly suck at the pull ups so that will be my challenge. I will do 10 pull ups in 9 weeks. The only problem is I can currently only do one and I'm really unsure of the best way to go about improving b/c my upper body strength sucks too. I might google it to see if there are any suggestions on how to improve. Has the challenge officially begun?

    Hey Ladies...

Happy Tuesday!! :drinker: Okay, let me see if I can keep up with you speedy typers!! (not a word)..

Choco.... you look fabulous... all your hard workouts have paid off.. I don't see why you can not rock the 2 piece and if the weather permits...or not..take it with you!!:smokin: I can't believe you are going to the New Orleans for Essence!! That's loaded with so much to see and do...

Nola...I saw you had a busy day today..what's going on?

Porterbaby...how are those 10mins Abs workout going?

Dawana.. kickass for getting through that plateau. Awesome job :drinker: I took some of your advise:blushing: ... I'm consuming more calories:bigsmile: .. the days I workout, I eat my daily calories PLUS my workout calories.

Last Saturday I ate 2,296 - Sunday 1807, Monday 1447 and Tuesday (today) - 1947.. I leave some calories for errors but I'm not hungry, nor am I geting any hunger pains.. with that in mind, the scale was down 1.4 YAY!! I also lost inches, I should measure myself..next weigh in, I will.

I bought myself a 10 lb. Max-Vest to improve my Cardio and Strength - Develop Power, Speed and Agility...It made my workout intense!! Tonight was my first night using the vest.. OMG, it took me 15 mins to get it together... OUTCOME: That F$&%ing 10pound vest almost killed me...didn't you hear the ambulance? I dialled 911!!! All this to look fabulous!!...lol:-) BUT I will use it tomorrow

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Today is week 3 day 3 of the P90X program so it's a shoulders and arms day. I was able to get some decent sleep last night so I woke up refreshed and ready to "Bring It". I used my new 10 lb weights and it definitely made a difference w/the exercises especially the shoulders, can anyone say BURN. Workout is complete and I'm feeling pretty good.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Crickks: Thank you for the compliment. I will definitely be bringing the 2 piece w/me to L.A. and while the body is not exactly where I would like it to be I feel confident about it and hey I've seen worse in bathing suits. I'm not trying to talk about anyone but everyone can't wear everything and that goes for me too. I may be small but b/c I'm not 100% tone there are some materials that are unforgiven as my friend would say and show all your flaws. I know to stay away, no matter how cute the outfit may be on the hanger....LOL. I'm still tryin to increase my calories but have yet to find the right balance. If I increase the calories then I usually go over in the fat or carb category. I'm a work in process and I'm just proud of myself for attempting to get the nutrition in order.

ok so last night there was a retirement party for one of my old teachers. it was @ 5:30 after work when I usually do my workout so i went home grabbed a banana and headed over there with the intention of just popping in to say hi and heading back home to do my workout. but i got trapped there much longer than i thought and when I saw it was 7pm and I cudnt leave I grabbed a slice of pizza. "A SLICE" as in only one! wow I didn't know I was that strong lol. today i had breakfast seminar so i had a veggie omelette with bacon and hashbrowns and for lunch i had half a chicken calzone. saving the other half for dinner but I am right at my calorie limit! tonight we are riding uptown for a few drinks so i'm hoping the bike riding and the margarita's cancel each other out! hahaha

    Tomorrow back to my workouts!

good morning ladies. i've been so busy, i haven't been able to get on here, to post anything. we are going home sometime this week. i love my family, but my dad has got me doing so much things, by the time i get all done. plus trying get our dog for his walks. plus i try to get my workouts in, so i can have time for me before my man gets back. like i said i love my family, but i'm just not happy being here.

nolachick: great job on being strong at that party.

choco: you look amazing, p90x is making you look great.

crickks: it's doing great. what i do to work on my stomach. i lay on the bed, with my legs dangling over, with my butt close to the edge. then my hands on holding on the matress. then i use my stomach to bring my legs up. i feel it all in my stomach muscles.upper, lower, and the sides. it works.

    kicklikeagirl: how are you doing?

Good afternoon all! TOM has arrived and it's kicking my *kitten*. I've tried fighting back but all the kickboxing/Kenpo X in the world is not helping me win this battle. Like the singer Monica says "It's just one of those days, that a girl goes through, when you're angry inside, don't wanna take it out on you, it's just one of those days, don't take it personal........". I'm just not feeling it today. My body is sooo achy and I had to get up and come to work. I think the thing that's bothering me the most is that now that TOM has arrived early there's a STRONG possibility that I will be dealing w/it during my trip to L.A. at the end of the month.

Ok, no more ranting and raving it's here, I'm achy and I'll deal with it. Today is week 3 day 4 of the P90X program so I was suppose to complete Yoga X. I knew that wasn't happening so I threw in the Cardio X dvd instead. I've always liked this dvd b/c it allows you to sample a little Yoga, Kenpo, Plyo and Core plus it's a lot shorter than the other dvds.

Hope everyone is doing well. Can't really respond to any posts b/c I have a short lunch break. I'll try to check back in later.

    Hi ladies!
Sorry I've been a little MIA the last few days. Life has been busy, work has been horrible and I've been an emotional mess! TOM is should be showing up in the next few days, and I think thats the reason why I've been an emotional wreck this week. Luckily I haven't been emotionally eating or anything, I've been really good with the eating, I've just been lacking on the energy for my workouts. I think it has to do with so many things going on, stress at work, all of the responsibilities at home, plus giving support to friends and family who are going through hard times, as well as trying to constantly meet up to the expectations that I have for myself. I'm always so much harder on myself. Luckily I have a husband who is caring and calms me down when I get overly stressed about things that ultimately don't really matter. There's something inside me that wants to be a perfectionist at everything and please everyone, and yet try to find time for me....and it just doesn't happen. I've had a lot of late nights, and therefore, not many early mornings for workouts. Last night I finally was able to de-stress and go to Zumba with a good friend. After that I went with my hubby and played a game of volleyball with some other friends. It was a good stress reliever and definitely got me back in the happy mood and got me more energized to do my workouts.

I am so excited to get home and get my run on. I got an Itunes gift card for some fun new songs to jog to on the treadmill (wish I was jogging outside, but it SNOWED this morning...ugh I hate Idaho). Its going to be a great night. I am excited for the freakin' weekend!!!

Have a fabulous night!! I'll try to respond later as well... gotta get back to work...lunch is over!

Happy Friday everyone! It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in GA, the sun is shining bright but it's going to be a hot one. Since I'm off today I'm going to mow the lawn before the heat becomes too brutal but I wanted to check in prior to heading out.

Today is week 3 day 5 of the P90X program and the "Leg and Back" dvd is complete. TOM is still trying to kick my tail but I'm fighting back harder today. Despite the achy body I really tried to bring it this morning and feel pretty good w/the outcome. I have one more day before I begin recovery week and i'm really looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Dawna: I read your entire post and i'm so glad you have a supportive husband who can help keep you calm and focus your attention on what's important but somehow I got lossed in everything else you said when you mentioned it SNOWED.....I mean what the hell is that all about, does the state of Idaho realize it's full fledge spring and the month is May? I don't do well in cold temperatures so I would be losing my everylasting mind right now. I grew up in Boston and our winters don't last that long. I hope it gets better soon. Now knowin your situation I will not complain about the 90 degree weather that we are expecting today.

I am noticing that the thead is slowing down alot. Hope to see more activity from my wonderful 10 in 9 ladies soon.

Hey ladies! work have been crazy for me too! I am also guilty of not keeping up with the thread that much but I definately think about u guys everyday. Like yesterday I went running by the lake and thought of Dawna and her kick butt running and then I wanted to do more so I went to the gym and thought of Choco! and her HIIT training and decided to do my own.
I did 4 mins warm up - 1min run on 6.5mph and 2 mins cool down on 3.5mph - and I repeated until I got to one mile. Total HRM reading = about 400calories. Not too bad!

Today I'll either start back up on the shred or go run again. Haven't decided yet. I have been eating out due to meetings and seminars but I've been trying to make good choices.

Dawna: glad you were able to de-stress. Sometimes that's when you have the best workouts!

    Porterbaby: how are u doing?

Choco: glad to see u fighting TOM and trying to stick to ur routine. I find that when Ijust pretend its not there and go about my usual routine it helps with the cramps and moodiness andd all. i

    Good Morning ladies!

Choco- I agree, Idaho should start to realize it is freaking May! I don't do well in cold temperatures either, so I am looking forward to moving away from here in about 2 years. Ugh...seems so long!

Nola- Girl, how's your busy week going? Are you still on top of your May challenge? Edited to say: read your post after I posted...and I'm so glad you had a good workout!! Its so refreshing!! Keep it up girl!

Porterbaby- Hope you can get back to your usual routine. I love my family too, but sometimes it can be really stressful after a while.

Well last night I was able to get my nice long jog in...it felt great. This week I didn't get up early at all...which I didn't like. I think it was lack of sleep on the previous weekend that just made the whole week go down from there. So, my goal is to get adequate rest this weekend and start back up strong Monday morning. I love my morning workouts and I had been doing them for about 4 weeks straight...but this week just wasn't my week. Still getting my workouts done in the evening but its just not the same. Tonight's workout will consist of a round of Turbo Kick and then some strength training with ChaLean Extreme. I haven't done CE this past week and I feel jiggly, not a good feeling. So, I need to kick my strength training back into gear.

Any fun plans for the weekend ladies? Saturday morning is going to be a "power morning"-- hoping the weather is decent so I can work on my 6 miles outside rather than on the treadmill. Then I think we're going to see Iron Man 2 possibly, but if the weather is really nice we'll skip the movie and do something fun outside.

    TGIF!!!

no really fun weekend plans here just looking forward to relaxing, getting some much needed sleep and giving my room a make over. hahaha wanna reorganize it and I bought new sheets with bright spring colors to make it pop!
Definately wanting to do a nice workout tomorrow perhaps comibinig turbo sculpt with the shred altho that sounds like a bit much but maybe the shred + turbo jam (maybe just the 20min workout) We shall see. I was supposed to get a haircut but haven't been able to get an appointment.

Tonight - movie night at my house. we're making veggie pizza
tomorrow- girls night out - going dancing maybe?
    and sunday probably rest!

kicklikeagirl: i'm glad that you getting your workouts in, plus getting your body to rest too. enjoy your movie.

Tomorrow I'm thinking about going to get a haircut but now I am starting to back out. I want my hair to be long and beautiful but I know my ends are dry and need to be cut. oh well I'll sleep on it and decide how I feel in the morning!

I'M BACK! The TOM symptoms have finally subsided and I hit the ground running this morning. Today is week 3 day 6 of the P90X program and I got up at 6 am to rock it out w/the Kenpo X dvd. After "Bringing It' w/Kenpo, I hopped in the shower so I could bring a friend to the airport. Once my friend was dropped off I headed to the gym and did 30 minutes on the stairmaster and a 15 minute ab circuit. Feeling great after the workout I headed to the sauna so I could relax for a little bit and then grapped a protein shake as I was leaving the gym. Since it's an absolutely beautiful day here in GA I decided to continue my shopping and was able to find 2 pair of sandals and a pair of sneakers....Woo HOO! Once I was done shopping I decided to rent a couple of movies and grab lunch. I've finally made it back to the house and I'm really looking forward to relaxing the remainder of the day.

Hope everyone's weekend has gotten off to a wonderful start.

Nola: Great job w/your HIIT and walking around the lake. I'm sure you and the girls had a great time walking and talking and to top it off w/homemade pizza.....sounds like a blast. I say go for the hair cut. Unless you're going to get it cut short into a style I'm sure you'll still have long beautiful hair.

Porterbaby: Way to keep getting those workouts in. I know it can be difficult at times especially if your mind and body are really not into it but glad you pushed past those feelings.

Dawna: I'm hoping Idaho's weather is cooperating w/you today b/c I know you would like to get your workout in outside.

Hi ladies! Glad to hear everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Slept in this morning...felt sooo good. I was kind of waiting until around until it warmed up a bit. It was sunny, and I waited until about noon to finally get out and go for a run with the hubby. It was 50 degrees, much better than the low 30s we've been having all week. Its still mighty chilly but I was sooo happy to get outside and do my running outside in the foothills. Thanks choco for wishing warmer weather upon me..haha! We ended up covering 5 miles in about 55 minutes. Not too shabby considering I have only ran one other time this week (3 miles). So, it was good. Feeling great now. Might even go get on the stationary bike later while the hubby is studying.

Nola-- how awesome to get a great workout in last night!! It makes me feel much less guilty eating a delish dinner when I've had a great workout!! Thats awesome!! I bet the pizza hit the spot after that! How fun!

Choco-- way to kick the TOM in the butt! have a great relaxing day!

Happy mother's day to all the mom's out there. I hope your children are allowing you to enjoy your day however you desire. My post will be quick today b/c I am about to head out for a little bit and then plan on preparing my clothes and things for the upcoming work week. Today is week 3 day 7 of the P90X program so I completed 30 minutes of stretching.

Nola: what a wonderful way to spend your Saturday...pampering yourself w/a haircut and then quality time w/the boo. Congrats on the weight loss. Keep focused and you will be at the finish line before you know it.

Dawna: Glad the weather was a bit nicer for you yesterday and great job w/rocking out the outside run.

Good morning all! It's another beautiful day to the beginning of the work week. Today is week 4 day 1 of the P90X program which means it's RECOVERY WEEK, WooHoo!!!! According to the calendar I was suppose to complete the Yoga workout but switched it out w/the Core Cardio and Balance dvd of the Insanity program. I hadn't completed an Insanity workout in over 4 weeks so it felt good rock out to it this morning. This particular workout is one of my favorites since it doesn't move at such an extreme pace. I'm actually able to complete every last exercise w/no stopping until I get to balance portion. The hip flexor and arm burners are killer moves and I usually have to break a couple of times. I also like this workout b/c it's pretty short. I mean I rocked it out and 37 minutes later it was over.

I just finished eating a nice hearty bowl of oatmeal w/strawberries and a little added protein powder and it was delicious.

I'm running a tad behind schedule so I only had a chance to skim the posts. I will try to read everyone's in detail a little later.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning ladies! It's monday and that means a new week and a fresh start. I had a good loss last week but I cheated a few days so if I can do better this week I shud have no problem losing again!
Well yesterday I didn't get in a workout but thats cuz I spend most of the day doing laundry, cleaning, organizing my closet, etc. so i had to have burned something!
Today I'm planning on going for a 4mile walk/jog again and hopeto feel the burn!

Good Morning ladies! It was a good weekend. Yesterday was my rest day, and it was great other than I stayed up wayyy too late last night and feel like a zombie this morning. Plus TOM visited me last night. So, I brought some pick-me-up snacks and hope to get more energized before the end of the work day so I can get a nice long run in tonight as well. Tomorrow I am determined to wake up early and get some workouts in before work. I need it in order to keep my sanity at work.

    Have a great day ladies!

Oh...BTW...WAY TO GO NOLA ON YOUR LOSS!!! that is AWESOME!
