Good morning all! Since I used last week to recover from my L.A. trip I'm only on week 7 (instead of 8) of the P90X program. Today's workout is my least favorite (after yoga) of the P90X program.....Chest, Shoulders and Tri's. Since I've not completed this workout in over a week I'm sure I'll feel it tomorrow.

    good morning ladies!

choco- that is a great time! I've never been a "speed" runner, mostly just a distance, although I do try at least to improve my speed, but i think that is fantastic! You ran about a 8.67 minute mile, which equals to running just under 7 miles per hour. I think that is a great speed. Its definitely not a "low" speed. way to go!

well this weekend was great for me. On Saturday morning i got up and ran 4.5 miles, it was a HARD run for some reason! I don't know why. The week earlier when I ran 9 miles was wayy easier. My heart rate was high the majority of the time and i just felt like i was out of shape. it was weird, because i am not out of shape by any means. i was talking to some friends and they said its common to have an "off" day where your run doesn't go quite like you planned or envisioned. then later that night we did some grilling with some friends. i love a nice grilled chicken breast. and my friends are fairly heatlhy so they brought sides like veggies & strawberries & salad. it was great fun.

    Have a great day girls!

Good morning! Today is week 7 day 2 of the P90X program which means I was suppose to complete the Plyometrics dvd however b/c I was so short on time I switched it out for the Core Cardio and Balance dvd. I'm a little sore from yesterdays workouts so doing push ups and walking planks today really took a toll on my arms.

    Workout complete.

Dawna: Thank you for the feedback. Im considering trying to run a 5k on the streets of GA this weekend (not a race but the miles) just to see if I'm able to do it and if I take breaks how many and how long. I know what you mean about having an off workout day. I'm sure you'll bounce back w/o a problem.

hey ladies! looks like this thread is slowing down a bit, or atleast I myself have not been checking in as often as I'd like. Work has been crazy and I dont get a break to log on and when I get home I try to get my workout in and cook dinner so I completely forget to log on.

    wanna hear something funny? ?

today I did some walking for 20mins and then turbo sculpt . I brought out my mat to do the last few mins of chest and abs and stretching....well I was exhausted and the stretching felt so good...I actually fell asleep on the mat! hahahaha atleast I still got my workout in. I woke up an hour later starving and made myself a sandwich since it was already getting late and I was pressed for time.

tomorrow I might not be able to check in but hope everyone has a great day!

Today is week 7 day 3 of the P90X program and I was able to rock out the back and bicep dvd this morning. I'm hoping I have what it takes to complete the next 5 weeks of this program b/c I'm beginning to get bored so it's making it harder and harder to get up in the morning. Nonetheless the workout is complete and I feel real good about it.

Nola: I agree the thread is slowing down a lot but I am finding the same thing w/the other threads I participate in. I think the summer time does that to ppl. It's sooo nice outside and our activities pick up so life just gets hectic. I just hope it doesn't stop completely b/c I've come to enjoy our dialogues and love the support and motivation I receive. Great job w/the workout and you're right falling asleep on the workout mat is funny. I guess you were tired.....LOL.

    Good Morning ladies!
Nola- that is pretty funny about falling alseep on your workout mat, you were really tuckered out! I bet that little cat-nap felt gooood!

Choco- hope that you can get through your P90X program, I know how it can get with being bored. If you don't do the program 100% as they specify, I'm sure there's not too much harm in incorporating some other fun workouts inbetween.

As far as this thread slowing down, I have noticed it a bit too. I think it has to do with the fact that it is summer and we are outdoors more and doing more fun things. I know during the winter I am on the computer at home much more, but now I am a lot more active outdoors. The positive side about it slowing down is that we are learning to make better choices on our own and not having to rely on others as much to get motivated. I do enjoy each of your comments, and as the summer progresses I'm sure my posts will be dwindling, but I will find you girls...haha! This thread has been a great support system, and if we aren't checking in as often...its okay! We'll make it work and support each other as needed.

Last night we played an ultimate frisbee game. we didn't have any substitutes for girls, so us 3 girls played the entire hour game. I burned lots of calories I'm sure. It is a game full of sprinting, and afterwards I felt refreshed!!

Its weird, I've been feeling so good with my exercises and things that I haven't officially weighed myself in almost 3 weeks. I'm not even sure if I've lost any weight, which right now I'm not as worried about as I am about training. But, it feels good to not be obsessed with the number on the scale anymore. Right now I just feel good and am enjoying the journey. I'm sure once the weather gets nice again and I can run outside in the AMs I will shed a few more pounds. My body really goes into crazy mode when I work out in the early morning, so I've gotta start that again.

Good morning all! There's one more day til the weekend arrives and I can't wait. I don't have any major plans but work has been so stressful lately I'm just glad to have a couple of days to myself. I'm thinking about checking out the Sex and the City 2 movie. I absolutely loved the series and the first movie.

Anyway, today is week 7 day 4 of the P90X program which is a Yoga day and you all know the routine......I don't like yoga so as always I substituted it w/Cardio X. I can definitely feel my arm and back workout and while sore I'm happy that I really worked those muscles.

good morning ladies. i'm back home now. i can finally get myself back into gear. yesterday i been cleaning, mow the grass with the pushmower. did 30 day shred. today i'm still doing laundry, clean house, and walk to the bank and pay bills. fix turkey chili. i'll probably do some other kind of workout. i'll probably pull carpet in the hallway.do a stomach exercise my cousin told me about. it feels great to be back home and so i can work on me so i can get my body looking good into those bikinis and bathing suit. talk later.

    good morning ladies!
last night i was able to get a 4.5 mile run in. it felt great, and i'm hoping i'm ready for my 10 mile jog on Saturday. and i'm hoping i can get it in. we're going camping, and its up in the mountains and its supposed to snow?!?!? so, hoping the weather holds strong so I can get a nice long run in on Saturday.

last night i also watched the movie Dear John with some friends. i wasn't very impressed, but I'll hold off on telling ya'll what bothered me about the movie so I don't spoil it for those who were interested in watching it.

have a great day! great to see you back porterbaby!

hey ladies. so last night i finally got to go on a nice bike ride. it was hot as hell so I know I had to have worked off some calories. we stopped to eat and I had a cup of gumbo (yummy) and some sweet potato fries. not the best choice but I decided to indulge a lil. today for lunch I had a nice sandwich from subway. I really enjoyed being away from the office ffor a while and now feeling a lil less stressed out.

Choco: way to keep it going with the p90x. I think I might be starting it up soon altho I would really rather start Turbo Fire.
Dawna: hope the weather holds up for u and u have fun jogging and camping. can't believe u're still getting snow in JUNE!
I'm curious to know what u have to say about the movie. I have been wanting to watch it also but I don't mind hearing ur opinion on it.

Porterbaby" glad u are back and getting busy again. I'm sure u'll be able to pick up where u left off and keep up the great work.

I still haven't decided what workout to do today. I have been having trouble getting motivated to workout at home. But I'm in a challenge to do 360mins of exercise for the week and I have only completed less than half of that so I can't afford to slack off today. I will commit to doing atleast 1 workout DVD today - I'm thinking the leslie samsone as that has about 40mins of workouts for a total of 4miles.

Porterbaby: Welcome back. I'm sure it feels great to be home but at least you were able to spend some time w/family.

Dawna: You and your husband are very active and thats so wonderful. Continue to do all that you can and enjoy one another especially before you decide to have children b/c while they are a blessing they are very demanding. Enjoy your camping trip. I wasn't planning on watching the Dear John movie so feel free to share your opinion.

Nola: I've read a few posts about turbo fire and checked out the 5 minute clip. While I truly want to do something different I think I'll wait til I hear feedback about this program before investing my money. I thought you and your boyfriend where starting P90X a while back, what happened? I'm sure it's difficult to get movitated at times but if you don't work out and eat healthy how else are you going to reach your goal........get it crackin ms lady.....LOL.

I will be laying low the next few weekends b/c I'm going to PA for July 4th weekend and then home (Boston) on July 15th. I do have a book club mtg this Saturday and I might take in the new Sex and the City 2 movie but other than that I'll be real close to home.

hey ladies. well last night I pushed myself and completed the 4mile walk. I know Choco u said it was very easy and doesn't feel like a workout but I have the firm walk and it gets my heart rate up and I sweat, so I know its a good workout for me atleast. This morning I was sore and had trouble getting out of bed. and it didnt help that I had a meeting at 7am and cudnt fall asleep until 2am looking for a new apartment. I don't have to move until August 1st but that's right around the corner.

Tonight my gf's are wanting to go out, I'm not sure if i'll have the energy for it but I'll definately get a good workout in before I go anywhere and maybe a little nap.

Good afternoon ladies! It seems we're some busy ppl b/c the activity on the thread is slowing down a lot. Today is week 7 day 5 of the P90X program but since I didn't feel like completing the leg and back workout I substituted Plyometrics. Once again my back and knee cooperated and I was able to complete the entire workout w/o modifying any of the moves.

Well I have to get back to work b/c we are under a HUGE deadline. Everyone have a great day!

Good afternoon ladies! Since I was having a lazy day and I was still sore from yesterday's workout I decided to keep it light today. I had to return a movie to the redbox which is at my local grocery store and instead of driving all the way there I parked at the Walgreen's and walked there and back for a total of 2 miles. It was blazing outside so I was so happy to return to the house. I decided to skip the book club meeting and continue to lounge.

good afternoon ladies. i've been taking up the hallway and bathroom floor. plus been doing others. but i'm still getting my workout in. i didn't get none in yesterday. like i wanted to. but i did get some in today. later while he is watching the ufc fight, i'm going upstairs and workout. i rather workout instead of watching it with him. i gained this morning but that's because i was so hungry yesterday and i didn't workout. today is a new day even though it's later in the day.

Today was my 2nd time running on the streets of GA. Even at 9 am, it was extremely hot and humid therefore I was never able to catch a good stride. I completed the 1st mile in about 9 minutes 30 seconds but had to take begin walking b/c the humidity was sucking the air out of me. So between running and walking I was able to complete 2.5 miles in 26 minutes (plus a 4 minute cool down). When this workout was complete I was dripping w/sweat and absolutely exhausted. I returned home, showered and made a yummy banana/chocolate protein shake w/2 slices of whole wheat toast.

Porterbaby: Glad to see you back on the boards and getting your workouts in. I know the last month or so has been pretty difficult/hectic but it seems like you have stayed focused on your goals. Great job.

thanks choco. i did bum bum today about 30 min. of it . sand the bathroom floor. last night instead of going upstairs and workout, i went for a walk instead. later on if it isn't storming again, i'm going for a walk again. as soon as it actually stops storming, i need to mow grass again. it looks like you are doing really good on your workout. you look great with your bikini on. how much have you lost?

Since beginning w/MFP I've lost a total of 16 lbs. I will log my 2 lb loss tomorrow during my official weigh in but the scale has been saying 120 lbs since Friday so I feel pretty confident it's the real deal. Now I really have to maintain b/c I don't want to lose anymore weight.

Good morning all! I hope everyone's day got off to a good start. Today is week 8 day 2 of the P90X program which means its all about CORE work. I completed the Core Synergistics dvd and boy did I get a great workout. I'm still struggling w/my Dreya Roll, Bow to boat and Plank/Cahunga moves but all in all I did a great job.

    Dawna: Thank for the support.

Nola: Sorry to learn you're not feeling well but hope you feel better soon.

    hi ladies!
last night i was able to get my 5 mile run in. i was supposed to do it on Saturday while we were camping, and i was excited until it started to rain, and it was freezing rain as it was only 33 degrees. lame! last night's run felt pretty good. tonight i'm supposed to help at a Paint-a-Thon service project, so i'm hoping to get home early enough to get a workout in. i should have woke up early this morning but i have been so tired lately. But, I really need to get back into working out in the morning. Goal = Wake up early tomorrow morning to exercise. I GOTTA do it! Gotta be in bed early tonight to do this! I just know how much better I feel when I have completed my workouts early in the AM and then I have my evenings to do fun things and prepare yummier dinners. And especially with the summer hopefully starting here soon...I want to enjoy warmer weather, if it ever comes.

my favorite part about summer is the fact that yummy fruits are in season and less expensive, and they taste ssooo good!! Going to rotate between filling my fridge with the following: grapes, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwis, blueberries, cantelope, and watermelon. i usually always have oranges & apples & bananas on hand...but i LOVE other fruits!

hope ya'll have a great night!! today's goal--- get to bed early to wake up early tomorrow!
